UDA ‘crumbles’-Politician

Share

The Opposition United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is said to have crumbled in Mufulira on the Copperbelt Province.

This is according to the 2006 UDA losing parliamentary candidate, Moses Nyundu.

Mr. Nyundu charged that UDA an alliance of United National Independence Party
(UNIP), United Party for National Development (UPND) which recently pulled out and
Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD), collapsed soon after last year’s
tripartite elections.

He attributed the collapse of the alliance in the district to internal problems that
individual political parties are experiencing and observed that there are no local
structures that exist at district level.

Mr Nyundu said UDA has not been able to call for a meeting in the district since
last year’s elections, a situation impliying that there were no leaders at any level
of party organs that form the alliance.

He charged that the alliance has lost its original core value and it therefore can
not resuscitate itself nor forge ahead.

The veteran politician has however urged the parties in the alliance to remain
united to avoid giving leverage to Patriotic Front in the 2011 elections.

The UDA has of late suffered leadership wrangles in all its affiliate political
parties.

UPND recently pulled out of the alliance with its leader Hakainde Hichilema saying
the alliance has confused the party.

  1. That’s the problem with OPPORTUNISM, these parties joined the bandwagon looking for opportunities, basically posts. What they lacked was a COMMON FOCUSSED VISION, no wonder HH claims UDA has disillusioned his party.

  2. Problem is that when we vie for certain politcal positions its all about amassing wealth and not serving the pipo. you can see what is now happenig with ULP, because of the “reconciliation” pipo have now began defecting from other parties and joining ULP hoping that the ULP leader is picked as next president. what wishful thinking.

  3. To us crusaders of democracy and the free enterprise, it’s been really sad to see how a supposedly civil society has sold its moral platform to the evil political opportunism, anarchy and sponsored acrimony against Zambians. The Oasis forum under Mwenya Mwewa a PF cadre lost it all the very time it entered into that “unholy acrimonious alliance” with the PF.
There and then it lost its civic values and public good will from a cross section of pro democracy crusaders. Sadly, its now headed by some reckless and over ambitious political stooges with patronage in PF. That development has worsened the forum’s susceptibility and desperation on public matters. It carries a badly irreparable public image from a true people’s movement largely believing it as a front of “Evil anarchists against the peace loving Zambians”.
The front has failed to fill the gap of civil society politics democracy brings. Instead, it has become an auxiliary of the hopeless indoctrinating political fantasy void of realistic dimensions. On the Demo, it has lost it again. My advice to our custodians of peace is DON’T BE TOO SOFT WITH ANARCHISTS. We pay taxes spare us from fanatics who have failed in their lives. Serious Zambians have the challenge of building wealth and Jobs for all. Where these fanatics have failed, we the ingenious outrival them.
Our plans are big and on course to be compromised by mischievous ne’er-do-well political cadres masquerading as the civil society. It is in the Democratic rights of these parochial pseudo activists to stand up and enter the competitive politics as politicians under registered political parties instead of tarnishing the civil society image. Let them be advised and regulated to observe the roles of the civil society in democracy and not offer themselves as political acrimony fronts against Zambians.

  5. Chitimukulu and Kanongesha denounces time wasters and upholds CC road map. They also register gratitude for the successful Agriculture support policies bearing much fruits to the sector.

  6. That said, without apology I don’t support the aborted Oasis/PF anarchy demonstration. In this vein, I advise LT.General Shikapwasha the Home office head to realize that we pay taxes. Provide leadership against any form of vandals. Our investments and interests must never be at the peril of those who have failed to reason, dialogue or economically make it in the free market economy.
We need every form of stability to foster our business opportunities we have already ploughed in so much in the economy. We are set to pool in more partnership resources as we endeavor to fully realize the dream of possessing the wealth of our land. Anarchists are sponsored enemies of the People and emerging wealth builders.

From time in memory, sponsored frictional politics has failed this nation. It is the duty of every patriot and visionary citizen to denounce them and outright crash their compromised soul agenda against hope and peace for all.

  7. Levy has offered a route thats essentially similar to a CA only it saves us the money we need to do other things. But there’re always NGOs paid to make noise about anything without offering a real costed alternative. This is where i have a problem. NGOs demanding something they dont even know we could afford. Responsibility and accountability in public life demands that we dont commit our country to an enterprize we cant afford, thought we learnt enough lessons from KKs coupon and other gimmicks. The Zambian people who will ultimately pay the bill are not interested in this demonstration.

  8. IT’S TIME FOR SELF INTROSPECTION
A well meaning activist would not promote anarchy. A closer study of the so called oasis Forum reveals that their confusion driven agenda is legally contemptible and frivolous to follow. They want the current constitution to be shredded and trashed then a new one adopted on their terms.
They feel their agenda should take precedence over all non Oasis forum/PF aligned Zambians and Government. They want Government to take a rubber stamp role typical of titular administrations without a Give and take spirit. Where Government and the popular patriotic population has spotted and hindered their unsympathetic motives, they have counted on anarchy to blood-let peaceful Zambian souls.
No learned soul, patriot, visionary, entrepreneur, law abiding democrat or progressive person would endorse their anarchy centered agenda motivated by lawlessness. We are not emerging from a war or under some junta transitioning into Democracy to warrant their approach. If we shred the supreme law of the land-Constitution on which the country is governed, under what laws will Government be administered? Where will the branches of Government; Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary derive their powers to run this country? Anything done in the absence of a constitution would be illegal. The Presidency would be illegal; Commander in-chief powers would be illegal. This is how lawless these anarchists are. They are an immediate danger to support and align with under any circumstance of democracy.
The ZCID is the most inclusive approach towards a people based constitution. The current Oasis forum/PF is not a Zambian voice and has not mandate to dictate our way. I challenge all cadres blindly buying the idea of anarchy to find some time and look at “Reciprocal effects of party identification and policy opinions in a multi party system”. If Oasis forum thinks it has the People’s mandate, let it enter and compete in the political arena and measure its worth. In the same vein, I challenge their disillusioned legion to consolidate their support and prove us disdained entrepreneurs that they are worth our support. I beat my last dollar they are nothing but a legion of rumbling trolls with a hollow place in the Zambian power politics.
