A Catholic Priest has urged parents to strive to fight the high levels of HIV/AIDS infection that is threatening to wipe away the human race in

Zambia.Speaking at the World AIDS Day candlelight Memorial Service Father Ethics Chibulu of Maamba said people have tried all means to fight the pandemic but it has continued to increase. The father said the high level of HIV/AIDS was as result of people’s putting their trust in the worldly materials such as condoms.“Our faith is based on condoms, traditional healers, while others say HIV came for people, we trust too much in the things created by human beings,” the Father noted. He urged people to stop entrusting their life in condoms, traditional healers, and learn to trust in themselves. The national AIDS Council statistics estimates that 16 percent of the adult population in Zambia who are aged between 15 and 45 years is HIV positive and about one million are living with HIV. Woman have been singled out to be highly prone to getting infected than men and the infection rates among young women aged 15 to 24 years is four times higher than young men in the same age group. The theme for this year is a Leadership” and it would continue to be promoted with its slogan, “Stop AIDS. Keep the promise.

  1. To live a life of modesty, moral and true commitment to one faithful spouse and obeying and teaching our ones pure and virtious principles. I CRY for loss of our future through AIDS/HIV.

  2. Very funny!Especially that it comes from a catholic priest.I have nothing against the catholics but it is common knowledge that many men of the pulpit have sired hundreds ,possibly thousands of bastard kids which just goes to prove that sex is a need that no amount of faith, theology, churches and hypocrisy can deny.Word of advice to the priest ; use a condom correctly and consistently everyime you have sex with a male or female partner because it greatly reduces your chances of acquiring STI’s ,

  3. “He urged people to stop entrusting their life in condoms, traditional healers, and learn to trust in themselves.”

If I trusted in myself, I would be HIV positive by now, worse yet, dead! I can go onto the Father’s pulpit and give a personal testimony, with real experiences, about how the ‘grace’ of a condom has saved my life from STIs, HIV, and from unwanted pregnancies.

Coming from a priest, one would expect him to say ” …trust in God…”

  4. Ati bane ama condom nama contraceptives from america muli HIV. chenjeleni pantu kuti ulebomfya condom or contraceptive while infecting yourself more.

  5. 90% of sexually active adults are infected by HIV we are on the edge of extinction something more than condoms or arvs must be used lets think seriously;y and find the medicine .
