The match was their second training game played on Wednesday against a local club following their 1-0 loss against Kessben.

And striker Felix Sunzu has reportedly arrived in Accra en route to Kumasi to join the team, Faz general secretary Fedelis Banda said today.

The Zambia bench in Kumasi is currently awaiting the player at Kumasi airport.

  1. No goals again from Zambia, one wonders who will score goals for Zambia once the real matches commence.
No hungry strikers, only blunt ones or balloning ones!
Zambia what has happened, even simple clubs, we cannot shine?

  2. Hey, fox the games we speak about if self so please wait until the matches are played. Then you can talk trash as much as you want.Because as of right now every team has a chance to be beaten remeber fox the beautiful game of soccer is played 90 minutes. Then you get the real results not predicting for nothing. It’s crazy your lets watch the games first. I know that Zambia is good enough to upset some people. Do do not under rate the heart of lion. Lets go Zambian boys.

  3. brothers from zambia don’t deserve to be there! other countries should have been there instead. Sad indeed and shame on you guys.

  4. The purpose of the games in Ghana is to acclamatise to the weather conditions in Ghana and not to win Vs whoever. I mean who wants to risk injuries at this time, no one with a common sense. So forget these results, for there do not mean anything and remember football is a funny game, it is not always what the so called experts predict that is the outcome of a game. Who thought Togo & Angola could qualify to the last World Cup, not even Abdupono aziz umulu ngwana. People will eat their own words

  5. This tells you that Zambia is good making it to the African Cup of nationals regardless the out come. Other countries can cry all they want man. Why should you care if the nation of Zambia spent money on their football team. Everyones knows that the truth we come out in the groups. Unlike some people here trying to make the matter of football a big deal. I know Zambia we do well and make people mad so to speak. Like I said the game is played 90 minutes not in your mouth pal. Go Zambia….

  6. Friendlies before the commencement of a tournament are not indicative of the performance during the tournament. As Justice says, the last thing you want is to over-exert yourselves and pick up injuries. I’m looking forward to the first match, watching again via the internet on telesud.com

  7. Hey, Mario thanks for the site man. Appreciate it a lot I am looking forward watching the first rounds. The first couples of games we tell which we live up to there hype. Anything is possible for any team.

  8. No probs. The quality on telesud is excellent and you pay $6 per match or $30 for the entire tournament (live plus highlights). The first match against Sudan is crucial. I’m confident that if we beat Sudan, a draw against Egypt or Cameroon is likely. To underestimate Sudan will be at our peril. Either way I’m very proud to see Zambia play at any level. Come on Boys!!

  9. Hey, Mario I agree with you man. I think Sudan is beatable and I looking forward to see how Zambia we handle the first game and the presure. But I am pretty much sure with the helps of the likes of Boniface S as a spie we help the coaching staff. However, I am glad that the boys made though. Thanks again Mario and best wishes to all Zambian across the globe. Go Zambia.

  10. Iwe ka Abdulaziz walid you gonna eat sand after watching Zambia beat Sudan. To my fellow Zambian soccer fans, let us not get discouraged, these are just training friendlies we have enough bullets to use when we face these terrorists loving fools. All we need is to beat Sudan with a lot of goals as a motivation then the last 2 are the crucial ones. I for one I’m not scared of Egypt or Cameroon as they are beatable.

  11. Abdulaziz the camel chi..ka..la. Do you have heamorroids ma.tha.fa.ka? Drop these stupid and stinking comments on the Sudanese or Egyptian blog (if you have any).
I can assure swine, Zambia performs better than least expected. You will be shocked next week.

  12. Correction.. Stop droping these stupid comments on our blog. Get out of Zambia and go to the war torn Sudan and terror prone Egypt. Leave us alone. Go Zambia Go. Pierce the Ginjerwid, bury the pharaohs and kill the lion.
ZAMBIA, you are the bullet remember.

  13. Zambia will beat Sudan. Sudan has been out of the nations cup for a long time. Cameroun is also beatble, the preparations have not been good. Egpty wont beat us on neautal ground. I see Z in the quarters.

  14. Good comment Shidada brother.
Abdulaziz dont make us say things we dont wanna say. Zambia 3, Sudan -2. You know what this means. 5 – 0 to Zambia.

  15. Can we vote to ban the mad Abdulaziz? cuz this guy is serious not normal, i bet this guy has never seen sudan playing in the AFCON, cuz last time was in the 70s,zambia will teach those janjaweed chaps soccer.

  16. Any one who knows his football well can’t judge the abilities of a team by some training match against a club. These games were both for 40 minutes only.Like Justice #9,says why pick an injury in such games, players don’t give their all.So one can’t gauge a team by that. The Morocco and Tunisia games for me were good yard sticks. We bat Tunisia at home and narrowly lost 1-0.Against Morocco yes we lost but from the highlites of the game we actually gave Morocco the 2nd goal.

  17. The Doubting Thomases are back!! I thought they had learnt after the RSA 3-1 experience.
It is true, you can’t teach an old dog, new tricks.
Long Live Motherland – The land of opportunities. Viva Zambia Viva Nkana FC

  18. Gentlemen, let Abdulaziz vomit what he wants,he will eat his own feaces. He has the right to say whatever and what he has indicated as scores, the opposite will be true. zambia all the way to the finals, Viva chipolopolo.

  19. Please guys the these are JUST warm up games! The boys will do us proud!!!!
We playing teams that we have bean before “so many times”!
    Chill!!!!

  20. Zambia all the way to the finalllllll!! brother are you kidding me? Ghana finals? HELL NONONO. unless you tell me its the BEER FINALS.

  21. Abdulaziz, who are you supporting? pick a team, egypt, sudan, morocco, tunisia??? we’ll see how your team does. come back talk to us.

  22. hey Abdulaziz u are late, go pray! it is friday today. rememeber to tell allah to bless the sudannes, pilz u guys don’t come with bombs in Ghana!!

  23. Another cause of the Sudanese success is their cohesion. Making their first appearance in the finals since 1972, the Desert Hawks have plucked their entire squad from just two clubs, Al Merreikh and Al Hilal. The latter made it to semi-finals of this season’s African Champions League before losing on penalties to eventual winners Etoile du Sahel, while the former got all the way to the Confederations Cup final before also falling to Tunisian adversaries. Since all Al Hilal’s best forwards are

  24. those sudanese are no joke, they have billed as the dark horses of the competion, it’s going to be a good game. it won’t be easy, we’ll be there too.

  25. Al Merreikh will be well represented in Ghana. As well as contributing half the Sudanese squad and its manager, they were Pfister’s employers before he was headhunted by Cameroon. What’s more, their towering centre-back Elijah Tana was expected to join up with Zambia, for whom he has long been a stalwart, but Zambia manager, Patrik Phiri, provoked national uproar by leaving out the 32-year-old after he missed a flight to a training camp in December. Injuries have also forced Phiri to omit Coll

  26. Injuries have also forced Phiri to omit Collins Mbesuma and Germany-based duo Moses Sichone and Andrew Sinkala, meaning the Zambians flew to Ghana without the core of the team that qualified (winning 3-1 in Cape Town to top the group ahead of South Africa).

  27. Zambia failing to score against a 7th placed club and we expect them to beat Sudan. They havent scored in the previous 4 games.

  28. MY BROTHER FROM ZAMBIA WROTE THIS; Zambia is more like the lusaka urban district council football team. our players do not seem to understand how to play as a team. we should just have sent zanaco football to represent us. i can bet up,” our team will no win a single game.” waste of money, just bring them back home.

  29. All the prophets of doom will be disgraced next week. Mark my words. ZAMBIA WILL GO THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND. Either Egypt or Cameroun will be a victim. Sudan are not going anywhere. They are already out.
Iyee Chipolopolo, Ba Zambia Iyee, Ba Zambia Chipoloplo.

  30. Abdulaziz, you can not expect our boys to play the frienly games with all their strength coz players can pick up injuries just a few days before the real thing. The boys know what they are doing. Already you can sense an improvement in the defence.

One more thing. Abdulaziz, you will be more appreciated on aljazira or something and not here.

  31. I believe that a lot has been said concerning our team Zambia not going through the next round. Going on BBC African football Ghana ACN 2008 team guide, Zambia has been rated as outsiders and the book makers are tipping the defending champions Egypt and four times winners Cameroun to go through at the expense of Zambia and Sudan. But I believe that anything is possible. Football is not played on paper or on the word of mouth, But on the pitch. The ball is round and it can go anywhere.
    All I can

  32. All I can do now is to keep my fingers crossed and wish our Chopolopolo boys all the boys. We are with them win, draw or lose. God bless Zambia.

  33. Brothers!! can some help me out on this one please? WHY SHOULD A COUNTRY WITHOUT A NATIONAL STADIUM BE ALLOWED TO TAKE PART IN THE ANC FINALS?

  34. SOME OF THESE COUNTRIES LIKE ZAMBIA 11 SHOULD BE PREVENTED FROM TAKING PART. THERE OTHER COUNTRIES WHO DESERVE THE SPOT AND CAN OFFER BETTER CHALLENGES

  35. Oh Zambia!!
    Oh my motherland!!

You have been dispised for a long time.
Even some of your children have pieced you from the side.

    But please oh Zambia.
    Dont lose heart.

The time to favour you has come.
Arise. Show us what you are made of. Gold.

Come Feb 2008, it will be “IYE” and “CHIPOLOPOLO” in the streets.

    Go Zambia. Go.
This time, you will cry tears of joy because time to favour you has come.

  36. Let us wait and see. The Zambian team that has been selected for this AFCON is weak on paper and only on paper not on the field of play and soccer is not won or lost on paper but on the fielf of play. So lets wait and see. We are competitors at the tournament.

  37. I am enjoying it now because the bloggers are now ignoring the rantings of Arab wannabe (Abdoulaziz).

Lets not give him a chance. From his postings one can safely conclude that he i snot even Arab but a disillusioned chap bent on escalating his self denial.

We love this country (Zambia) and we are passionate about its interests especially soccer. So no amount of insults will brings us down.

Go on and insult but we shall forever be proudly Zambian.

  38. CAF should limit number of participating teams because countries like Zambia and South Africa just go to be taught soccer lessons and increase the total participating teams to 16.

  39. Am also a Zambian (typical Bemba. I donot like the way football is governed in this country hence negative comments. Everything pa ZED is Trash…..Come AFCON08 we will be out in the 1st round and go back to the drawing board as we have always done. We are going to the AFCON with a blunt attack and porous defence. What we should expect is the thunderous bashing.I donot want to have high BP.GOOD LUCK!1

  40. The problem with you brothers is that you find it difficult to accept the truth. always believing in miracles

  41. I don’t mind opposing views as long as you are not with substance. There is no need to lose temper because of waht Abdulaziz walid is saying. One thing Abdulaziz forgets is that the Sudanese team that did well in the CAF cup has a lot of foreign players. So its not Sudanese players perse who made them play so well. Sudan just lost 6-0 to Guinea and then 1-0. I still say Zambia will beat Sudan-3-0, draw with Cameroun and beat Egpty into the quarters with Tunisia or Angola or even South Africa.

  42. Abdulaziz walid – Where has Sudan bn in 32 yrs as far as the AFCON is concerned. Stop harping about things you dont know. you jerk. We granted u, yo family refuge from Mohamed Farah Idid. After gaining some strength from our food you want to insult Mother Zambia.

  43. Shakespear once said a coward dies a thousand deaths, a soldier dies but once….

maybe its a good thing that we are maintaining the draws and a couple of emabarrasing loses….you never know. That might be the reason the team can go in this tournament as under dogs and have nothing to lose.

I was reading New Nation Paper(African-caribean london paper).
They believe Zambia and sudan are the whipping boys of the group.
    Lets prove them wrong.
    Austin V.J MAKOTA

  44. The game against Sudan will be very interesting…it will be critical for both Zambia and Sudan; for Chipolopolo because they will go in to it with a depleted side (Missing Chris Katongo and Isaac Chansa). If they get three points from this game, they ll have a possibility of going t the next round. For Sudan, the game will be crucial because it is the only game in which they can get a result – first round exit is almost certain for Sudan…..
