Two Zambian Families Affected by SA Xenophobia attacks

Share

Two Zambian families have been caught up in the xenophobia of violence that has gripped South Africa and left 23 foreigners dead.

Chief government spokesperson Mike Mulongoti who is also information minister said one family had its home windows smashed and is now living in fear.

The minister said the other Zambian family is locked up in a flat too scared to come out.

The Minister told ZNBC news that Zambians living in South Africa who feel insecure should come back home.

He said there is economic and political security back home.

Mr. Mulongoti appealed to the South Africans to allow foreigners living in their country to wind up their business before they return home.

He said it is not necessary for Zambians to continue living in fear and should get in touch with the Zambian High Commissioner in South Africa to facilitate their return home.

Mr. Mulongoti was sad that while many African countries had assisted South Africa during the apartheid era, its citizens have became violent towards African foreigners living there.

The Minister explained that if the violence in that country is not checked it might impact negatively on that country’s economy.

Meanwhile, Southern Africa Development Community, SADC, Heads of Mission accredited to South Africa are concerned at the escalating xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in that country.

The ambassadors and high commissioners told held a meeting to discuss the problem and resolved to ask the South African government to find a permanent solution to the crisis.

Zambia’s High Commiossionmer to South Africa, Leslie Mbula, who chaired the meeting, expressed solidarity with the victims and challenged the South African people to accommodate people from other countries in the region because of a common shared history, culture and destiny.

Mr Mbula has, however, thanked the South African government for the tireless efforts being made in assisting the victims of the violence.

This is according a press statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka and signed by Second Secretary for Press at the Zambian Embassy in South Africa, Philip Chirwa today.

Eleven Ambassadors and High Commissioners attended the meeting which took over three hours.

Present at the meeting were heads of mission from Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar, Malawi and Mozambique.

Others included ambassadors and high commissioners from Swaziland, Tanzania,Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Recently, foreign nationals visiting South Africa have been attacked by South African robbers.

“I would like to challenge the South African community to be accommodating towards their brothers and sisters in the SADC region with whom they share a common history, culture and destiny. I also would like to urge the government to find a permanent lasting solution to the crisis more so that it affected African brothers and sisters,” Mr. Mbula said.

  1. screw South Africans, they aint no difference between thems gangbangers. to all Zambians living in fear, come back, remember lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice. i’m realy wondering whether FIFA will still allow the world cup to hold in 2010. What on earth is wrong with those Negroes?

  2. What a pity to our South Africa based nationals & other nationals who are victims of xenophobia of violence. Most of the victims, if not all are hightly qualified professionals who if they come back to Zed, may not find employmet suiting what they are earning out there. Its now a choice between good pay or risking one’s life.
While we appreciate that Zedians have opened boarders for the return of the victims of xenophobia, the govt should also provide alternative jobs for then, otherwise it would be dangerous to go to a country where you will earn nothing! It’s thus important to analyse the situation,as Zed has nothing to offer to these nationals.
    A pity indeed !

  3. Fake doctor # 2, Yes its a pity, but If i got this one right, I would beg to differ with you on what alternative the govt shld provide.Yes,Its governmental duty to ensure that Zed nationals are safe wherever they are; however in this case, the govt is not obliged to employ those nationals if they went back to Zed on the grounds that when all was well in RSA,they abandoned Zed,depriving Zed of highly qualified manpower needed to develop the limping nation. Let them fend for themselves, after all they have been earning ” big”.

  4. this is worse than apertheid

killing among our selves south africans killing fellow brothers and sisters. so are they going to chase the rest of whites in south africa?

what a shame south africa people have brought to the african continent. this is why Africa is not developing instead of working to develop we are jealous of one another.

if u see your neighbour being successful dont go to witch doctor and say kill my neighbour instead work hard compete

  5. # 4 . According to 0xford advanced learners'( like us***)dictionary:

xenophobia is “an intense dislike or fear of strangers or people from other countries”
In this case, the South Africans are assumemed to portray excessive patriotism which have led them to resort to violence of xenophobia.

In short thay have phobia for foreigners!
Hopefully this answers your question Zambia 1.

  6. These stupid South Africans dont appreciate.

They are extremely stupid. After we accepted them in our country, helped to fight the Apartheid govt and this is how they repay us.

They are no different from stupid Zimbabweans who where saying and treating Zambians like crap. What goes around comes around.

Now on govt, it’s the duty of govt to insure that the Zambians in SA (since most are skilled laborers) are allocated loans so they can start there own companies in Zambia.

Im truly disappointed and disgusted by these former Apartheid victims. How easily they forget. HOW DARE THEY!!!!!!!

  7. Mmmmm mmm mm m…The picture above still shows the South Africans with their Assegais…primitive methods of looting and plundering fellow humans and their property. What happened to the long shields or is it because the war is single-sided, and so they dont need any protection?

Its a sad situation. I keep praying for the safety of my fellow Zedians out there and all other victims of xenophobia. May the good Lord protect you. Where possible, just come back to peaceful Zed

  8. I think South Africa has forgotten how they got their independence from the so called Whites. All their neighboring countries helped them to get independence. ANC and it’s leaders were fighting their battles from ZAMBIA and neighboring countries. I think these South African are used to living fighting, PLEASE ALL ZAMBIANS, IN SOUTH AFRICA COME HOME, there alot of wealth in zambia. If there any South Africans in Zambia, they should pack their luggage and head back to South Africa. We are tired helping these fools and in return we get disrespected, ALL ZAMBIANS AT HOME AND ABROAD, LETS BUILD OUR LOVELY PEACEFUL COUNTRY TOGATHER, LETS SHOW THE ENTIRE WORLD HOW PEACEFUL OUR COUNTRY IS. SUPPORT

  9. Very shameful indeed. Hard to swallow as it may be, this really shows that negroes in this part of the world can never rule themselves.

  10. Its easy to says come back home wher there is economic and political security.Yes Economic and political security to MMD upper mwambers. These individuals lives amounted to nothing but when they went searching for greener pastures that when they realised their potential and so they are good at what they do.
Now for you to just say come back home with those sugar coated words and not mean what you say,I think is insulting to these hardworking and hurting families.
The African government has too much power but 80% of the time its misused. When they come back home are you gonna offer any help?

  11. “South African High Commissioner to Zambia Moses Chikane has assured the nation that Zambians resident in South Africa are safe from the reported xenophobic attacks being reported in that country.”

WTF is this????? This guy should be recalled. He does not qualify to be a diplomat, period. Oh I forgot! this is another Mbeki boy…RSA is doomed!

  12. WILL AFRICAN POLITICS EVER CHANGE?I MEAN FOR BETTER?JUST LOOK AROUND THE WHOLE AFRICAN CONTINENT AND TELL ME IF THERE IS ANY HOPE FOR A PEACEFULL AND COOPERATING AFRICA.

  13. The African holliwood is killing nations.Everything a minister says is a script coming from an over controlling president who think they know everything.
Being a minister now is like saying yes I will be minister which means I will stop using my brain but yours and your alone Bwana President.

  14. This the problem with communication with our Government. The spokes man has not indicated where in RSA the family was attacked, what the circumstance was and what measures it has taken.Pipo need accurate information so that they know what to do next. You cant just say a family is locked up in a flat and scared to go out. Where is the family located and what has the embassy done

  15. please open a peace university in zambia and let sata be the headmaster and teach other africans about peace.

  16. Our High Commisioner assured the country that Zedians are safe in South Africa but from what we read now they are not.

Fellow Zedians go back home.It is better to struggle in your country than to be killed in the foreign country just becuase you are a foreigner.

Fishileni RSA ifimafotini no kujomba tafya jomba.

  17. If you Zedians leaving in RSA don’t want to come back home then thats very unfortunate.Did you think you were going to stay for good there?Leave those bunches of fools alone time will come when they will need your services.

  18. These stupid illiterate south africans should be reminded that what goes around comes around; look at our silly neighbours in Zimbabwe, when zambia was limping in the 80s they used to have an intense xenophobic hatred for zambians crossing into zim for a few basic needs. I guess they never ever dreamt that they would one day be faced with the same problems. Now they are paying for their sins and dragging all africans down with them. But somehow I have a feeling that when things finally improve in Zim we’ll see similar attacks by zimbabweans aimed at economic migrants who will go to zim. Sad barbarism.

  19. The situation is simmering down with the announcement that the army will be deployed but caution should still be taken as pockets of savages are still on the loose. Mr Mlongoti as ZASA we have not yet received any info on attacks on Zambians kindly tell us where you got the info from.We are constantly checking with the embassy and we are getting no feed back of any attacks

  20. these people are very primitive

i can proof it go there and u will see for yourself. Zed people come back home and develop our country.

  21. To tell you the truth fellow Zedians, South Africans are simply f@#ked up. Every South African has a criminal mind. You cant trust anyone. Be it a politician, police, professional, pastor, sangoma, etc. You cant really understand them. Things that happen in this are beyond human comprehension.

  22. These illiterate savages don’t deserve South Africa. Im still angry.

How do you attack innocent people who are trying to make a living. Instead of attacking foreigners, these savages should instead attack Mbeki for his quiet diplomacy on Mugabe’s Zimbabwe.

These savages deserve Apartheid, they cannot function in a civilized society. They had a first world nation handed to them and they want to turn it into a third world war-zone.

I’m sorry to say but these savages are NIGGAZ/KAFFIRS.

    DAMN.

  23. for one, I really cannot understand this South African Xenophobia. Especially attacking other people from Southern Africa, its mind boggling. For all who have done history, they will know that MaNdebeles (Zimbabwe) ki MaZulu (KwaZulu Natal), MaRotse (Zambia, Namibia and Botswana) ki MaSotho (Free State, Gauteng and Lesotho). Now, if South Africans are attacking even people from these countries, there is only one way this xenophobia is heading, tribal war. It will not be long before we hear MaZulu being targeted outside of KwaZulu Natal and Xhosas being cruxified in Gauteng. This is just a prelude to what’s more to come and South Africans we’ll be in Zambian again soon seeking refuge.

  24. Now we must demand a truly democratic government in Zambia that will address the needs of the vast majority of our citizens. Giving away our resources will not empower us economically to deal with the issues of quality issues in medical care, education, housing, water, roads, food availability (affordability as well), and most of all the quality of live of the ordinary citizen.

Levy and his MMD must start thinking of our national issues instead of his bank accounts with his hoods.

  25. TOO bad fellow zambians but i can assure you it will be within our life times when you will see those illiterate South Africans begging in Lusaka streets. Look at Zimbabwe today!!. Lets just work hard too improve our economy , Leave those dogs alone. COME BACK HOME.

  26. if what i have read is true that Zimbos used to mistreat zedians in the 80’s, then lets chase them from our streets. Let them go and get torched in RSA. These *****s don’t appreciate. i know there are couple of them working in our mines, lets unite and flush them out so that we can accomodate our brothers who are being harassed in RSA.
To South Africans working in Zambia, flee before we come for you.

  27. #32
Leave them. Let them envy as we (blacks/negroes) build our economy.

Lets not go down to there level. We are better than that. Kaunda borrowed billions of dollars so we can be educated and it’s time we paid back that debt to him by building this country through the education that he gave us for free.

We will proudly say “we Africans (black) built Zambia.” but for South Africans and Zimbabweans, everything that is there is the work of the white man that they are supposedly fighting.

    What illiterate *****s.

  28. So first it’ll be Foreigners

Next it’ll be “we are not getting jobs because of racism” and these savages will attack innocent whites

Then now blaming each other, “its the Zulu’s, it’s the Xhosa’s, It’s the bushmen”.

How backward. All these people know is violence. When is Africa going to learn.

We need to get advice from Botswana.

  29. zambia1, xenophobia is an intense dislike for other nationalities. it can be black on black, white on white or anything like that. in this case the south africans involved are hating fellow blacks just because they come form another country.

  30. #32 Wht condemn SA pipo and then want to emulate them? So you think like them period.Whatever every1 is callin them will refer to you also, why? Coz u are starting to think like them.

I’m a zed in SA.Coming home is donnin upon us.But I think that economy there would not absorb all returnees.Look at it, our industry is not advertisin alot of jobs tells something, so there is no shortage of labor in zed, if not the opposite.I would rather go to say canada, etc.I’m not ready to establish my business yet, still buildin on it.I’m layin my groundwork maybe in 5 yrs it will come 2gether.

We spoke of this early this week sayin we are not immune to these shameful and barbaric acts here, cont.d

  31. Just look at the savage nature of these illiterate South Africans. All they know is violence.

May 19 2008 – White SA residents report that they are now receiving cellphone messages with warnings that the ethnic-cleansing gangs ‘will start moving from the townships into your white neighborhood soon’.
Apparently these gangs plan to start posing as groups of ‘workers’ to set up roadblocks near white neighborhoods; scout the local houses to establish the income levels of its residents; and then start attacking and looting the white residents inside their homes and cars as well.

  32. The other day we said the RSA diploma to Zambia Chikane was lying about the safety of Zedian in RSA. Since RSA got liberated 12 yrs ago, Xenophobia has been part of Govmt Institutions – Immigration, Home Affairs, Police and communities. RSA Govmt despite knowing this problem has never initiated any education campaign against this problem. It is about time RSA educated its institutions and communities on the need to embrace other black Africans. On the issue of Zedians in RSA coming home, this will start happening as our economy continues to improve. In EU people are going from Britain to their respective EU countries (Poland, Crech etc) as economies improves.

  33. The rate of immigration to South Africa has been so high. 5 Million immigrants within 14 years is too much to bear with within this short period of time. I am not surprised what is happening has happened. The immigrants also have made the situation worse for themselves. The Nigerians are deeply involved in pushing drugs and young south africans are getting hooked. They have now gone into running brothels. The prostitutes are the young girls they have enslaved with drugs. The Zimbabweans, some of them former Army officers, are running syndicates that hijack security vehicles carrying daily cash takings for various businesses.People watch these vices on programmes like CARTE BLANCHE AFRICA.

  34. South Africans fear of strangers is unacceptable. The County is what it is today because of foregners who assisted and provide shelter during the apartheid struggle.Shame on South Africans. FIFA should think twice about letting those ungrateful and inhuman South Africas hosting the 2010 World Cup.

  35. #29 I can see that you know these good-for-nothing people in some way.Yes they will knock on our door(which is not even closed) when things get worse.Whether illitrate or not these rascals should learn to be grateful.ZED and other African countries were there for them when BOTHA was giving them hell. Now they pick up asegais against ZEDIANS….GOD forbid!!!

  36. ATTENTION #23.

    The houses attacked belong to:

1.Ms Lolifa Kabulu who lives in Yeoville with her children.

2.Ms Nakana who works in a hair salon in Brixton received death threats from the local people who accused her of getting their job and she now fears for her life thinking that anytime the threats could be carried out.

  37. #33, i like your sense of nationalism. You wouldn’t have said it any better. You are not a crazy-zambian after all. There is alot of wisdom in what you have said. You are my #1 blogger for this week.

  38. No fresh attacks today, Yesterday 11 African ambassadors held meetings to discuss the attacks. Fellow Zedians in SA check on each other at least by fone and avoid public transport organise with those with cars if you have to move. Avoid CBD’s and hang out places. However if everything seems impossible call 012 326 1847 for instructions. This is the high commissioner’s number ask for consulate section

  39. PEOPLE PLEASE COME BACK TO THIS FERTILE LAND AND MOVE ON. LEAVE THOSE DESERTS, MOUNTAINS, ICELANDS, SNOWLAND, BROTHELS(USA & UK)SWAMPS WHATEVER THEY ARE. ZAMBIA HAS A LOT THAT EVEN THOSE COUNTRIS DONT.
    THE PARADOX IS;
FOREIGNERS COME TO ZED AND WITHIN THREE YEAR THEY GO BACK TO THEIR HOMES WITH BILLIONS. NOT A SINGLE ZAMBIAN HAS GONE OUT AND COME BACK WITH BILLIONS. THE GRASS IS NOT GREEN OUT THERE< ITS GREENER HERE< COME BACK AND MAKE IT MORE GREENER. THEY MADE THEIR COUNTRIES GREENER. PLEASE ZAMBIANS COME BACK.

  40. i just spoke to the consulate section of the embassy, they are quiet helpful but frankly speaking i cant help to notice that the embassy has no strategy or plan as a response to the violence. However if you are in RSA and you feel like being consoled, you can give them acall otherwise not much help you can get there. Thanx Chikumbuso #46, i feel much better now

  41. supporter no2 the systems here do not allow to be be billionaires in 3 years like it is in z but we are making a few dollars which is keeping our families at home. As soon as we have plundered these countries we will gladly come home.

  42. South Africans have already forgotten that Zambians embraced them, helped them, and housed them during aparthied. Even Mbeki stayed in Zambia for a while and I remember he used to come to our house when i was 7years old. Now they have forgotten abt the hand that fed them. May God visit. The world cup must be played in Zambia mweh…lets ask the chinese to build 10 quick stadiums

  43. What a country. South africa is known for violence among its people now they are extending it to foreigners. I fear for world cup.

  44. Neuter where is your input about the African race. just for you info a series of meetings were held by FIFA last nite regarding the world cup. they were postponed as some officials had to rush to Russia for the UEFA. for the sake of Nueter i hope the world cup stays in Africa or else chimwewe will have proven his point

  45. FIFA, FIFA this could be a good reason to take the World Cup to another standby and safe country. The South African government is just prooving they have no capacity to protect the millions of ‘FOREIGHNERS” who have to travel there in 2010. Its not too late. These are reheasals for the cannage they intend to unleash on black visitors in 2010.

  46. This is really pathetic. Blacks killing Blacks is what will ultimately finish us off and pave way for another colonization. I really feel for my brothers and sisters living in fear down South and I would also advice them to return home for a while until this xenophobic tirade eases. Fear breeds violence, why die like a dog when home is just a few minutes flight away? Remember that he who fights and runs away will live to fight another day.

  47. Public Protector Lawrence Mushwana is warning the xenophobic violence sweeping the country could pose a serious security threat to South Africans working and travelling elsewhere in Africa. Mushwana is extremely concerned South Africans may face danger when travelling to other countries if people there decided to retaliate for the violence inflicted on their countrymen. He’s even suggested that Bafana Bafana may face danger when travelling to play other teams on the continent saying he is very distressed. His office, together with other chapter nine institutions, such as the Human Rights Commission and the gender commission are now working together.

  48. Those who do not learn from history …

Perhaps we should barge into Spar, Sun International, Shoprite, PEP Stores, Mr Price and all these SA investments to grab the same money that feeds these imbeciles!!

This is unacceptable from a country that would be nowhere without the sacrifice of southern Africans. To the guys back home, I wish I could join in demonstrating at the SA embassy in Lusaka!!!!!!!!!!!

  49. In Pretoria, its quiet but ANC intelligence (Ward street committees) claim there could be more attacks following a pamphlets distributed in the north east ghettos foreigners to get out before 23 May. Same statements have been issued in Springs (KwaThema).

  50. “The Debt of Apartheid” and a report entitled Paying for Apartheid Twice, from Action for Southern Africa (ACTSA) and the World Development Movement (WDM)show that there is $56 billion in apartheid-caused debt owed by the countries of southern Africa”. In all this Zambia incurred approx. $4 Billion debt. Another estimate by the IMF show that Zambia’s total cost in liberating these chaps and other neighbors runs up to $20 Billion. And this is the thanks we get from the ungrateful clowns.

  51. What i dont like about SADC is we are too scared of SouthAfrica. No voice has come thru for the leaders except from the Kenyan Foregn affairs. Countries are simply prepering to bury their citizens without raising concern. i am for the idea of boycotting 2010 if it is held in sa. We shall be sending a petition to FIFA and CAF to change the venue of the world cup

  52. Apartheid, rape, murder, illiteracy, AIDS denial, armed robbery, political immaturity on Mbeki’s part and now XENOPHOBIA … these guys are still evolving. Better off with FINDECO house naka Cairo Road katu than this nonsense!!

  53. The annoying thing is that not everyone here is illegal and not everyone legal is taking up South Fyototo jobs. Those calls to go back home don’t apply to everyone. I have an expatriate contract because my employers could not find a suitable local to take the position (After advertising for 3 months in all main stream local media). It’s not even a South African company and they say we are taking up jobs. How??? I know of another intn’l minning firm that got black engineering interns. 5 were dropped and 3 made it. The 5 are locals and the other 3 were from Zed and Tz. Can’t stand this stress

  54. This was a time bomb about to explode. Firstly their atittudes was that they were not part of Africa. Their curriculum vitae has no elment of African History or Geography. The end result is few southafricans know where to find each african country. I was once asked on a plane by a seemingly educated South African Man who our chief was in Zambia since KK was not there anymore. They seem to think we come from villages and we only have a chief as our ruler.i am not surprised, these pipo are so uneducated it is not funny. Thanx KK 4 the free education you are my hero

  55. Kandanji i feel your anger and frustration. Unfortunately these pipo are not on our level and you should have realised by now that what makes sense to the dullest person in Zambia will not mean much to a University Graduate here. Just as an advise this has been an eye opener of things to come. This wave of nonsesnse may pass but be assured it will appear again later in the future.exploit this country in all means possible, get loans, use their facilities, steal the technology and use it all in Zambia.Rest assured when something like this happens you will be the one smiling.

  56. These guys are just lazy. It is rare to find a musasa(South african)to set up a katemba. Someone comes as far as Nigeria to be a tailor or shoe mender. Even if they are destroying shops and other property belonging to foreigners, I bet not a single musasa will set up katemba. 12 years after independence, they just wait for the govt to spoon feed them. Almost every year a lot of money budgeted for projects is returned to the treasury due to lack of feasible projects by SA blacks.

  57. Bwanji Mr. Kadanji. Don’t forget ka madalas soccer on Sunday so that we can talk more about these ZENE ZENE(New nick name for xenophobic attackers)

  58. These fools don’t deserve to host the World Cup. If they can kill their own neighbors and laugh about it, it clearly shows that they are not ready for the world. Take the world Cup to Europe or the US cause clearly these savages cannot function in a global community. Pathetic

  59. South Africa depends so much on her neighbours – Shoprite, Spar, Holiday Inn …. I fear for them if the neighbours decide to retaliate!

  60. Chimwemwe, you are right!!! We’ll stick around and use their resources till they stop whining and realize that reacting to problems in a Jurassic way won’t help. Mark my words, next they will be fighting each other and white people. Imagine one lady was saying that in 1994, they thought to vote meant that if the ANC won, they would move to the suburbs!

  61. RN Pretoria, i will not make it this weekend, going to zed tomorrow to attend a wedding. Just make sure you don’t bring any local and hold on contacting the Angolans for a game till this passes. Regards to the other Madalas and the Squash players

  62. Let us use their facilities, loans etc and scamper. The least they can do is blacklist us. Ala bane mwe bena Z ndekongola ama Benz anyone willing to buy a brand new S500 get in touch with me.We took things for granted but not anymore no mercy. They will be busy harassing us and will be busy transfering assets

  63. Chimwemwe, walasa. Let’s learn as much as possible (I’m in the far east and being a clever sponge, mwana) and set up our own thriving economy, infrastructure … all the best and please stay safe.

  64. Pray for us comrades in Zambia. but we cant come to Zambia again where we will not find employment. Its better to die here than get back to a dustbin called Zambia.

  65. X#4 I dont think xenophobia arises out of patriotism. I dont think South Africans are more patriotic than any of us. And we dont beat up foreigners at all. It is about an inferiority complex that makessomeone hate those who look like him.

  66. I dont believe Zambia is a dustbin. Its oneof the most untapped areas of earth. We just need to have initiative and we will make Zambia the new Europe! But first we must believe in ourselves. We must be proud to be Zambian. We must not look for answers elsewhere but within

  67. If Zambians are there legally, let them stay and SA should provide them with security. However, if they are there illegally, then they should come back.

Besides, how did this situation come to be? Could it be a British ploy to try and coerce people to return back to ZImbabwe? I think there is more to this than meets the eye.

  68. Chikumbuso, I need one S500 or ML320. That is the way forward, let us start plundering their resources.

  69. I think somehow this has alerted us. Like the guys above have said, this is time now to exploit the opportunities here while fattening (more saving) our bank accounts. So that when nga yazanda, kubutukafye nama millions nokubwekelamo kumwesu ku Zed.

  70. Yes Zambia has a lot of business opportunities, it is an expensive place to do business but if you get it right and are comitted, you can make some money like I’m doing right now.

#75 how much are you doing the S500 for and can u get it into Zambia as well?

  71. I lived both in RSA and now in Zambia and can only say: bravo Zambians you can teach your fellow brothers in almighty RSA a lesson in peace and security. Already in the 90’s the “makwekwere” were treated with contemp and racial hate. Of course the RSA High Commissioner has to Zambians are in now danger and everything is under control. “There is no crisis:, where did I here that before ?

  72. Prof Mutengo, you seem like you want to commit suicide.Dont tell me you will be employed for the rest of your life. Your attitude sucks man,i doubt if you are a prof for real.Refer to my comments # 75 and brother Chims # 67. who thought RSA could turn on us Zambians? but they did. Goodness they did not kill us so we have a second chance. This simply means we should wise up.Accumulate as much wealth , invest in Z so that when the time comes for voluntary repatriation or forced one you should be the first to get on that plane. This has been a lesson so we should learn from it. Maybe we should thank these savages for opening our eyes.

  73. Again, and now without spelling mistakes, sorry !

I lived both in RSA and now in Zambia and can only say: bravo Zambians you can teach your fellow brothers in almighty RSA a lesson in peace and security. Already in the 90’s the “makwekwere” were treated with contempt and racial hate. Of course the RSA High Commissioner has to say Zambians are in not danger and everything is under control. “There is no crisis”:, where did I here that before ?

  74. #80 I like your thinking my friend. I think its the British and white South Africans indirectly pushing this agenda to get back at both Mugabe and black South African politicians. The have some how created a situation were phobia has developed to create some black on black violence because the know how illiterate black south Africans are and their violent nature. Its a perfect scheme to get to move the World Cup to another european country and to also show people that black people can’t rule themselves without their involvement. Even before this, some white people that have left RSA have been pushing agendas to see to it that South Africa fails in everything.

  75. Leave the South Africans alone. It is their country and theirs alone. They will decide who to invite in and who to chase away. All those immigrants have their own countries where they come from. We should all learn to live in our own houses and countries instead of scrounging kwa bene! Shame on you immigrants…you are getting what you deserve! Abash panafricanism. South Africans are not going to pan africanise their country! Its their choice! They will share with you when you also have something to share with them. For the time being all the manyunyuku, makwereres should just take a hike!

  76. there we go again, now it is the white peopleand their agendas again. I thought we were here to discuss concerns against xenophobia ?? Amd how exactly has the Mzungu orchestarted the ongoing violence among the black South Africans and the foreigners, by offering cheap airline tickets to J’burg ? It time that (South) Africa stands up and be responsible for its own doings…cheers

  77. By the way, #86 I don’t mean make sweeping statements about all white people. Here I’m talking about white haters mostly politicians and racists, not all white people. Its not a phobia thing, I’m just thinking “outside the box”. I agree with you, we can certainly teach most africans about peace.

  78. Mbulawa, you sound very disillusioned and living in the past.

Kandanji, 72 safe trip to zed we shall wait for you (for madalas soccer) and tell our people that we appreciate their concern about our safety out here but they should not panic as plans are on the ground to mobilise all zambians should things get out of hand. For now let us wait and see.

It is appalling and very shameful indeed.

  79. Ba Mbulawa #88 mulichipiba sana. Just imagine even a South African# 91 is doubting your brains. Dont just open your mouth. Think bwana. We will stay here! They also benefited from our humble economy.

  80. #91 Mbulawa is a Lozi name. **Some** Lozis like their South African brothers and sisters were the came from have phobia issues too. Mbulawa comes from a tribe that has been calling for its own country within Zambia, they so called barosteland nonsense even though they are not the only tribe in Western Province. To me this is phobia, they think Western Province is their personal property when there are other non lozi tribes in western province. That is why you see Mbulawa making some funny comments. It seems some people never change!!

  81. Take this as an opportunity to channel loads of Investment to Zambia.

So if you are a Zed living in SA. Encourage those who have the resources to go to Zed.

  82. To understand a South African you have to live there.Kaunda taught us to embrace our brothers and sisters. He wept with his white handkerchief during apartheid era. When we went to live there it was all differentyou felt like et we looked after them in our hospitals and everywhere.Should they not reciprocate? Its a shame you cant change a leopards skin….come back and till the land.Oh for the sitting around our fires in the villages!!

  83. Disillussioned with what exactly? And what do you mean by living in the past? Lacking senses? I can assure they are all intact!? My friend I am a realist. The south African masses are voting with their pangas and sjamboks. All they are saying is that they should be left alone. Immigrants should Just go back to their countries. Gelo ganti aku kana a kana. Finito. #91 and 92 you can call me all the names under the sun but it doesnt change the fact that South Africans dont like this mass migration to their country. All these immigrants, to belabor the point, come from somewhere. They should go back there and impress on their govts to improve conditions in their home countries.

  84. Shame on RSA.
Where is the Peace Love and Harmony????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  85. #94 For your information there is no tribe in Brotseland that is called Lozi. Lozi (southern Sotho) is a national language of Barotseland spoken by all the 34 ethnic groups in the province. Mbulawa is a Kalanga name from around Plum Tree and Francistown area. Kalanga’s in Barotseland are known as Mahumbe or manazwa…they are one part of the fore mentioned 34. They are the list likely to call themselves ‘real Lozis’ (if such a people really existed)

  86. 97 Mbulawa

There is nothing exactly that you are disillusioned about. You are simply disillusion personified.

You seem to be very frustrated in life and now you want to misdirect or bring disillusion to the discussion.

You are the kind of chaps who are always seeking attention in wrong places.

  87. Concerned Muzungu # 89, look at it this way: A construction worker getting poultry wage, then a Zimbabwe pauper comes and accepts half that wage. And a job is lost for the South African. Come on man these guys are distorting our economy. This actually supports you that there is no conspiracy whatsoever. Just cleaning up. And why did you all not make noise on operation murambasvina in Zim? Get a life man.

  88. Honestly, how maany of those panga-waging thugs know anything or care about how Zambia helped their country gain freedom? These are people who have been brutalised by their past, they are primitive urban dwellers and they will act as only primitive people behave. In my opinion their government neglected political education for their ignorant masses. On the other hand, have we all forgotten what happened in the Idi Amin days of Uganda?

  89. yes migration is a problem everywhere, look at italy , england (cant cope with eastern europeans)and lets face it most of us that live outside our countries are economic immigrants. what other reason would i leave my beautiful peacefull zambia (where when people get angry just slice your bums or ears but leave you to tell the tale). as long as we have weak economies and do not find ways of addressing the problems we have in our countries we are going to suffer the fate that the foreigners are facing in SA. xenophobia should be abhorred but when both governments (where the migrants are coming fom and where they are settling )do not find means of sorting out this problem then it is just a bomb

  90. waiting to explode. yes south africans are violent people but xenophobia is not only in SA and a lot of zambians have experienced it other countries.its only that these are strong states whose institutions have the capacity to curb violence before it gets out of hand. south africa with or without foreigners is still going to xplode. like a friend put it ;a rainbow nation- note that there is no white in the rainbow!

  91. i have always wondered why pipo can live such a beatiful country like zambia to go and stay in those shacks in south africa and do stupid jobs like lifting boxes in shops. whn u can do the same in zambia and rent a match box house in kanyama.which is far much better than those shacks in south africa. Pliz africans stay in your ouwn countries and develop them. I was a foreigner for 15 years i stayed in botswana i hated the experince for been called names, makwerakwere. so whn i came back home i vowed never to live zed. here we have everything, jobs if u have papers and everyone who tells you that in zed it is rough to get a job botswana is worse. so stay in your own countries and develop them

  92. Fellow Africans, I understand why my fellow country men are reacting like this though I don’t agree with how they are doing it. South Africans are suffering in their own country while their neighbors are enjoying. Why don’t you all stay in your mother lands and develop your countries instead of plundering our resources?

  93. If cats dogs and mice can get along then surely people should.

Check out the video of the cat riding on the dog and the mouse riding on the cat.

  94. Dlamini, wat about when ur Mbeki, was staying in zambia and all those ANC militants we living in zambia. were u guys not plundering our resources?

  95. Dlamini you cant stop people from travelling. People travel from place to place. South Africans are suffering in their own country because they want to suffer. A south african has more opportunities in this country than a foreigner. Many black south africans are poor. The reason being that the poverty is in their heads. I interract with a lot of s.africans so I know what I am talking about. Period.

  96. #100. Mwape Mwela. Why are you getting so personal? Honestly you dont know me or anything about me and neither do I know you. Unlike you,it is beneath me to make personal comments about you. No sir I will not fall for the bait and make personal and stupid judgements about someone I know nothing about. Like I have said over and over, the South Africans have been overwhelmed by large immigration numbers. The immigrants should just pack up and go to their home countries. They wont lose anything…it is not their country. They have been made unwelcome. They should just accept it and move on. You can disagree with me but please dont insult me.

  97. Dlamini sounds like a swazi name. you are the pipo who pretending to be south african possibly causing all this nonnsense. Just be real man, if you are swati just hola like the way Zedians do we dont pretend even in the thick of things we aint gonna say we are South Africans.

  98. I for one I will not leave South Africa, atleast not anytime soon. I believe that I am at the right place at the right time. Those who want to leave RSA can leave but I will not be intimidated by some disgruntled thugs. My destiny is not determined by these xenophobic people. Finnito.

  99. Seeking political asylum is way far different from people running from their undeveloped countries because they’ve felt to find ways to do so. Those people you say you where once keeping are no longer in your countries, they are back home. Can you tell me when your peoples poverty asylum will stop and may be the South Africans will give you a time frame to plunder their resources. And you think you cant be stopped from traveling? Wait until they are done with. And please try to reason, don’t be abuse because we can all be if we choose to. Mind you, I said I don’t agree with the way its being done.

  100. Hold it Janjaweed. Personally I think you have put it well. Xenophobia is not only in S. Africa. Now the mass action in South Africa is genuine. Thats why it is spontaneous. It is you people trying to politicize genuine people driven cleaning up program that are at fault. Many of you have even gone to talk about sport and FIFA instead of talking about the issue at hand. Remember that the shacks where these illegal people call homes do effect even themselves in many negative ways. As for # 102. Nkonga says you inability to recognize people shows you have a class complex. thats all I can say. You insult local leadership.

  101. #99 There is no such thing as Barosteland anyway. Where does it start and end? For your own information, I’m from Western Province, which I believe you’re refering to as Barotseland and I DON’T speak Lozi or Southern Sotho or whatever you want to call it. I speak my own rich langauge. You are the same as the South Africans, you think Western Province is your personal property, well it is NOT. That is the reason why the Zambian government will NEVER recognise that Baroste nonsense, its based on tribal phobia and it is a potential catalyst for conflict in Zambia!! We Zambians are peace loving people. If you want to create your own country then go to back RSA

  102. Zambians, those who can’t run away, put up resistance and stand strong. Let me assure you that whatever goes up will always come down. When I first came to Germany in 1991, there were stories about Blacks being thrown out of speeding trains etc. This is 2008 and here I am, still employed by one of the leading German companies and living a life above avaerage. I believe that no man can stop you from getting your blessings if you hold your faith and stand your ground, WHEREVER YOU ARE! I encourage all Zambians in SA to study the story of Joseph in the Bible…you will find strength like I did. When the whole world forsakes you ONLY God will take you!

  103. Mbulawa, you are likely to be challenged as long as you participate in a public forum like this one and when you are challenged, do not become emotional and start insulting (stupid judgements) your challengers because we are all capable of insulting back but like I said, such behaviour belong to the ancient times.

Learn to debate rationally not emotionally. Let reason prevail over emotion when you in a public debate.

I hope you will learn something here for the sake of your future contributions to this site.

  104. ***** and you know who you are , don’t try ta put it like South Africans are not in other countries. what u need to do is sort out the problems in you country’s leadership instead of blAMING IT ALL ON FOREIGNERS. we can not run away from the crisis in zimbabwe but there was Mbeki saying there was no crisis there so 3 million zimbabweans should not be crisis for you either thats why the hatred has spilled into violence.

  105. Why don’t you start by solving the poverty in your countries and stop the mass exodus of your poor relatives? I don’t think your insults are paying dividends!

  106. If you take a walk with your dog into a premises where there are dogs, the dogs wont harm you but will back and bite your poor dog. That is the culture which have evolved with SA blacks! The govt too has made things worse by not mentioning or educating the citizens when they returned from exile to lead the country how ather African countries contributed to the struggle against apartheid. Kaunda is the only visible person they have thanked, honoured and named a municipality after him, but the general citizens dont know anything about africas solidarity to their cause. However, we also have some blame to take, no country can take millions of unproductive migrants without causing frictions!

  107. If you take a walk with your dog into a premises where there are dogs, the dogs wont harm you but will back and bite your poor dog. That is the culture which have evolved with SA blacks! However, we also have some blame to take, no country can take millions of unproductive migrants without causing frictions!

  108. #118. Panga and machete-waging thugs are not in the local leadership or are they? Those killing others because of perseved loss of job opportunities are, in my opinion, primitive. I quess they have never been to other countries and/or do not care so much about human life.Pls Note that I did not say everybody in SA is primitive. It is naive on your part not to realise that Sports and FIFA could be affected by the killing of so many people, there are a lot of people out there who could have gladly travelled to RSA for the 2010 games but now have to think twice all because of the brutality of a number of your compatriots.

  109. The reason I will not argue with #126 is that you don’t seem to know that in German a Ghanaian was thrown our of a moving train by skinheads. German went on to hold the finals few months later. You don’t seem to know neither the story of Kosovo nor of German in 1939. Thats why you say that Africans in that picture are primitive. And by the way every anthropologist will tell you that such a coherent mass action does have grass root leadership; seen or unseen. My worry is not you since you are irretrievably blind. My concern is Janjaweed who seem to be lost but can see the way if he opened his eyes. Wake up mzaniwami

  110. Boycott all South African products and shops. No more buying SA fruit, electronics, builiding materials etc.

  111. Dlamini, pay back $20 Billion Zed paid to free your sorry asses and we’ll bounce. After all you are not every South African, Wabe T

  112. Thank you for your foolishness, I cant argue with your poor minds. It seems hunger has corroded your way of thinking. Xeno power!!!

  113. Xenophobia in RSA is a result of their Bantu education. Black South Africans were only taught a,e,i, o,u. nothing about map of africa and its people. My message to Africans in RSA… please stay and force these Africans Aliens how to live side by side with the rest of the world. The’re is no country in world without foreginers. Even small nations like Figi and Tonga has foreigners. Don’t panic at the sound of one tiny group of vagabonds singing ‘shosholoza’. Just beacuse you’re in foreign land does’nt mean you must turn the other chick. Even in boxing the referee say please protect yourself at all times.

  114. Bus loads of Mozambicans (3000 each day) over the last four days have been crossing into Mozambique. Thanks a lot Mozambicans for taking a practical solution to the problem. No matter how much you insult the South Africans or call me names and insult me; it wont change a thing. I stand firm over my views. I make no apologies. Really #121 Mwape Mwewa just be honest with yourself other than taking cheap pot shots at me what views have you put across on this topic. You are claiming that I have to debate ‘rationally and emotionally’. But really ba Mwewa be honest with yourself; look at your last three postings. Do you see that there is nothing you have actually contributed?

  115. Dlamini, do you have heamorrhoids m’ther f@#ker? Which planet do you come from arse hole? Wake up you fool. You just arrogant and stubborn for nothing. You will not stop people from travelling I can assure you on that. South Africa is not an Island. Even Islands like Madagascar, Comorros will have aliens.

  116. They (Xeno thugs) even used to sing umshini wami when attacking foreigners. Mr Zuma (with due respect and peace be upon him)came to the defence of his famous tune that such a song should not be sung by these thugs. And I support Mr Zuma on this one.

  117. #121 Mwape Mwelwa go outside and play football with your friends. #133 is right; you are not addressing yourself to the issues he is raised. The same applies to #115 Schalkwyk. The language you use says a lot about ypu and your intellect and upbringing it has no bearing on #133. It seems both Mwape and Schalkwyk have nothing to say on this topic. like #133 I would urge to look at your last posting and compare to his. Notice the difference?

  118. #136 Habs.. Are you the Ayatollah… the high priest to say who is right and wrong. It would be appreciated if you can provide you views next time.

  119. What effect has media in such situations ? Do they worsen or better the already dire situation? I read an SA paper last week with a headline “10 Aliens Killed, thousand flee”.Does such reporting help, I’m asking media boffins.SA media is also abit provocative in some way.Pipo like chimwemwe can u comment on this.

  120. #137 I am not an Ayatollah. Any intelligent person can easily go through the various entries on this blog and see what each and every person has contributed. Mbulawa has a premise while the other two Mwape Mwelwa and Schalkwyk are reactionary and petty. I guess you do not need divine powers to be able to find out about these three neither is it rocket science my dear Pan Africanist.

  121. #128 I do know about ath ONE Ghanaian who was thrown out of a moving train in Gemany and about many other blacks who have since then been attacked, I also do know for a fact that during the games which were subsequently heldy there were no-go areas for blacks, especially in Berlin and Brandenburg I was there, and by the way, those skinheads are, in my opinion very primitive. I repeat, negligence by the leadership to teach the masses new ways of solving problems after the apartheid era is being manifested in the attacks we are seeing today. Admit that those guys had been so brutalised that they are “sick”, it is only logical after so many years of being treated as second-class people.

  122. #112 & #133 Mbulawa
I would like you to help me on this front.I am a Zambia but my first born was born in South Africa and therefore qualifies to be a South African citizen. How do you hope to solve such a quagmire?Doesn`t my son have any rights as a South African to have his parents around in his country of birth.

  123. Habs.

The difference will depend on your definition of a constructive posting.

As regards my intellect, I think half of my intellect is what you get when the highest intellects in your entire clan are put together.

Regarding my education, I would not want to even start because I think even if I am well educated by global standards, this has nothing to do with you.

Issues are varied so what issues do you want to address Mr. Intellect if you even know what intellect means

  124. I will comment as I see fit. There are no rules here as long as I do not use vulgar language

  125. #141 Come back to zambia. Your first born will make a decision when he/she is an adult at 21 years. I gather the child is under 21 thus he belongs with the parents. When he clocks the mature age of 21 he can go back and claim his birth right. There is nothing complicated about this. Millions of kids are born in countries were they automatically become citizens by birth.

  126. Lets not insult each other, the bottom line is all those Zedians in SA who are living in shacks should come back, we have misisi and chibolya which are far much better than those shacks. Those that are legally there and doing well with their jobs/companies, please continue plundering their resources. But remember to invest back here. i was embarassed to find Zedians living in garages in Durban when they can stay peacefully in our many villages. Besides our chiefs have vehicles now and most these can work as drivers instead of cooking Nshima and washing cars in Durban. i believe these are the jobs that the south africans are talking about.

  127. #141, Chapi, this depends on your residence status at the time the child was born but also importantly, on the mother’s citizenship. If she is South Africa, the child automatically qualifies for SA citizenship. If you were both not citizens, then it doesn’t and unless one of qualifies and applies to home affairs dept. Also it depends on the period the child was born. Prior to 1949, there were no South African citizens, only British subjects and Union nationals. The second phase of apartheid citizenship legislation began in 1970 with the Bantu Homelands Citizenship Act.(17) Applying only to blacks, this act ensured that every black South African was granted an additional status of citizen

  128. Chap: The third phase of formal citizenship under apartheid is the Restoration and Extension of South African Citizenship Act of 1993 and the 1993 interim Constitution.Under existing statutes, citizenship by birth is limited to a child of a South African citizen or to a child whose parents are both permanent residents. As implemented by the Department of Home Affairs, however, this rule is relaxed to a significant degree: if only one of the parents is a permanent resident, then the citizenship by birth may be claimed by the child of that parent. Children born in South Africa to temporary residents and to the population of undocumented persons do not acquire citizenship at birth.

  129. #141 Chapi: The third phase of formal citizenship under apartheid is the Restoration and Extension of South African Citizenship Act of 1993 and the 1993 interim Constitution.Under existing statutes, citizenship by birth is limited to a child of a South African citizen or to a child whose parents are both permanent residents.

  130. Lets be proud, why become a destitute in a foreign country. i can assure you that there are better jobs in Zambia than some of the jobs that people do in the UK, RSA and USA.

  131. #141 In some countries, one does not qualify as a citizen just by being born there. At least one of the parents must be a citizen of that country. Chapi, if your spouse is not South African, I don’t see the point or logic of you keeping your kid in country where you are not welcome.

  132. The child can be considered for citizenship if he/she is not entitled to citizenship of any other country. Example: Some years ago there was a whole family of children who could not get any citizenship at all. They were all born in South Africa, but their father was a citizen of Zimbabwe and their mother was a citizen of Lesotho. They were not South African citizens because of their foreign parents. They were not citizens of Zimbabwe because they had not been born there. They were not citizens of Lesotho because Lesotho citizenship was not passed through the mother. They were therefore stateless persons. He/she can qualify in such a situ

  133. #149 – 151 Kandanji
Thanks Kandanji for your eloquent articulation. At the time I was in South Africa,my wife and I were both permanent residents.
#153 I am currently in the USA but I just brought this point up to let Mbulawa know that it`s better for immigration department to handle such cases and not these mobs.We all just need to live in harmony because we`re brothers and sisters.

  134. Most people affected are labourers so to say. The Mozambican embassy provided 10 buses so that those willing to go home could borad and a lot have left.

  135. ‘Laws of social science must be respected. Mugabe’s misrule has spewed 3m poverty stricken Zimbos into SA not to mention Mozambicans, Somalis, Congolese…. These are competing for space/jobs/ resources with a big largely, unskilled equally poverty stricken urban population ( pregnant with disappointment from the high expectations from the 1994 ANC led change). Such competition among such uninformed people is bound to quickly produce adverse socio-economic reaction.

  136. CONT:Rwanda’s genocide and Burundi’s civil war can be attributed to dominance by minority Tutsis over majority Hutus in the competition for resources/land/ jobs/power in tiny spaces/ countries. This time the crime is Xenophobia and the flashpoint is SA. The warring parties are poor black urban south Africans versus black economic immigrants competing for jobs, housing (economic opportunities).

  137. # 139 Habs..thanks for your rational debate. No hard feelings. Afterall this is a virtual world. on serious note, African leaders need to address this issues (xenophobia) if United States of Africa has to become a reality some day in our natural life. African integration can not just happen during Heads of States summits or conferences. We need to seek practical ways of uniting african people socially, economically and politically. We need cultural exchanges acrosss Africa. Then RSA people will realise that we’re just the same people. I once escorted a friend who ‘damaged’ a Xhosa girl and I was suprised to learn how similar the Zedian & RSA cultures are.

  138. It is painful to see human being killed because of xenophobia especially by the same people that were once assisted to break apartheid. But perhaps the zimbos will realise how we felt to be look down upon and despised after we had help them get liberated.
Get 1 million poverty striken chinese and Zimbabweans to compete with our street vendors and for housing in shanty compounds in Lusaka, Ndola and Kitwe, I bet there will not be at perpetual peace with our chibuku drinking township bred youth. MANAGEMENT OF IMMIGRATION is of the essence.

  139. #161 – #164 Theoretician,
    Well stated!
Chibuku drinking, uneducated and unemployed chaps would react the same way anywhere else in the world.
To them, 4 million immigrants = 4 million opportunities and jobs gone!
Skinheads do it in Europe and Russia.

  140. LT, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE NUMBER OF DEAD PERSONS IN THE SOUTH AFRICA VIOLENCE. ITS NOW MORE THAN 40 PEOPLE DEAD.

  141. ***** if you read my earlier posting , can you rread well first of all?anyway i said we need to solve problems that affect both countries those that are losing citizens and those getting them , but for you to think zambians have any part in the plunder of your resources is the reason you are in *****. we r blogging not investing , i get my dividends on the stock exchange

  142. it seems they enjoyed apathied. i experienced racism at the jan smuths airport in the bathroom by black women cleaners and not the white ones using the bathrooms.
i had asked a simple question but because i didnot speak tswana or isizulu, i was insulted.
and this was after nelson mandela, tabo mbeki?
this is typical robert mugabe. you got faults of your own n insecurities so why not take it out on others.
    ridiculous if you ask me.
just look at the many indians we have in this country, talk of the lebanese that have taken our women and taken over.
i am living in harmony with that hahahaha

  143. how daer you talk about my people like that you rookie 24 or whatver you call yourself. Got a problem with us? stay in your hiv infested country with bad roads and silly people.
your country sucks and you all know it. I am proud to be southafrican yes though i do not suppport violence, i am against what happened yes but you all have no right to insult my country.
lusaka, hahaha is a city full of fake individuals makwerekwere, the girls with bleached skins and fake accents spend all their time hanging out at hotels in the hopes of getting rich foreigners hahah talk about the accents please, its in between american indian and british hahahha
i am a proud safrican with my deep accent.

  144. rhapsody, shoprite, game, oceanbasket, wimpy’s all of those are my country’s ideas.
what ideas of your own do you have? you find yourself shopping in my country everyday, doing business, sending your kids to study here hahaha, how daer you sit there and insult my country.
i am against what happened yes but i will not sit there and listen to people with no ideas of their own talk about us like that NO!
ps and by the way, anytime you need to stop by pretoria, feel free to call me. They(zambians) always move in groups with one way tickets. the whole africa knows you hahahhaha

  145. your people are the ones showing how immature they are , thats why we speak bout them like that . yes we got hiv in za,mbia , which place dont got it, at least we r doing everything to fight it , u have a president who says hiv comes from aids not vice versa. i feel for your people PSA, guerilla brains are difficlt to educate

  146. the things you claim to be yours are the brainchilds of the whites. i never have seen shanties that you have anywhere else in the world now that is YOUR brainchild!!!!!!!!! Poor South African

  147. Xenophia is a disease in South Africa against african nationals…too bad it is only that people forget history very easily….we grew up with south africans in lusaka before 1994..we never called them names or attacked them,,,now they are attacking the very people who gave then shelters from the bad system of aparthd…

  148. # 173 You therefore agree that xenophobia is everywhere and it is not the basis on which countries are awarded FIFA finals. Where I live, my doctor is a Zambian. He has not built a shack where there should be no shack. He is not contributing to crime or disorder on the infrastructure meant for peace loving foreigners and S. Africans alike. Many Zambians even on this blog are that type of people and believe this is the premise from which our ambassador was speaking. I challenged you why you did not condemn operation murambasvina in Zim. As a people Zambians on this blog have shown their divisionist propensity. You even call yourself janjaweed blindly blaming people for exactly w

  149. exactly what janjaweed is doing to their darker compatriots including systematic raping of children. SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME ON LUSAKA TIMES AND THEIR JANJAWEED.

  150. help me folks…

what is PROUND south african? as for me, i am a PROUD zambian.

i think fuc*kin south africans that can’t spell should write trash on their own blogs, not ours

  151. I do sympathise with the South african illiterates who have taken arms against people from other Countries especially fellow Blacks. These issues are complicated and need closer look and analsyis. I remember the time when Zambians almost turned against the Indians and also Idi Amin turning against the Asians. This is process and recovery from Humiliation and sufferations of balcks from lack of opportuninities in colonial and apatheid era. Mugabe specifically has not made it easy for the Musasa as the Zimbos are superior skills. The Musasa sees the Zimbos as a direct threat to their survival..They need counselling instead..Let us remove Mugabe and easy pressure on the Musasaz…Survival

  152. #170 PROUD SOUTHAFRICAN
Have you bothered to check out the stats about HIV/AIDS.
World Rankings > HIV/AIDS – people living with HIV/AIDS (All Descending)

    Rank Country Value / Unit
    1. SOUTH AFRICA 5,300,000
    2. India 5,100,000
    3. Nigeria 3,600,000
    4. Zimbabwe 1,800,000
    5. Tanzania 1,600,000
    6. Ethiopia 1,500,000
    7. Mozambique 1,300,000

  153. Bwalya.. the Musasa do not have that Knowledge of History.. It was denied from them. Let us solve critical problems here. Mugabe is the Major Problems. We need to Educate these South Africans about History and Teach them Business Skills. Let the govt of RSA not issue unemployment benefits to the Youth but establish trade schools.. 154. #170 Sorry people are living in “your” country. But you should understand the phenomena of migration. Ppl like any other living creature migrate. You think your country is rich today, believe me, you are headed to worse conditions than Zimbabwe. South Africa with 85% illiteracy rate among the black population is headed no where. Same was in Zimbabwe. SA must embrace the folks that have come in to educate and replace the white population that is dwindling. Otherwise, it is a dead nation of sick ppl (HIV). You can see the ignorance in their behavior right now. Stones, Machetes, Guns, Burning Homes, wont educate you and your kids. Your economy wont survive the stoneage mentality.

  155. #…31, 49, 56, 145,…etc. all Zns I talk to are very much willing to come back to Z. However, they all complain about the mistreament by the GRZ. It would be very good and sensible to enjoy the same or even better incentives offered to foreign investors. These are 5years tax holiday, free entry of all imputs to the business 1 wishes to setup such as machinery and other materials, efficient land acquisition processing, etc. Zambia is a country whose economy can be turned around overnight as every natural resource is there.

The other crucial issue is pass ports. There are thousands of Zambians abroad who applied for renewal of p/ports almost two years ago but up to now they are waiting…

  156. …for their p/ports. If a p/port application can take that long to be issued, do u think its a nice way to encourage pipo to go back to zambia?

I ve read about some Zambians who would rather revenge on whats happening in SA. Two wrongs dont make a right.

#148, do u really know the meaning of the word ‘plunder’? Zambians or other nationals working abroad are not plundering those counties’ economies in any possible way. To the contrally, they are effectively contributing to the economic growth of such countries.

  157. #163, you are funny. I like your language-damage. It really reminds me of Zambia.

In conclussion, lets ourselves look after those nationals in Zambia in a humane way and regard them as brothers and sisters, regardless of their skin colour, race, etc. Let us stand out as we have always been as zambians. “Tit-for-tat”, is not a fare play.

  158. #163 NOOOOOOO lets kill Indians first lets make a leap and jump to indians thereafter we come back for the other foreigners.

  159. Gents your lairing now Not many of the Zambians are in trouble. Is what you ar saying varied of you are just too rational! Deal wt Mbike who is in denial of crisis taking place

  160. We kept those sheatanis went they came to Ze, Mr Mbeki is now not helping ! South Africans U are becoming Vinyama

  161. Imwe guys this stupid prof (#77) is calling Zambia a dustbin and you keep mute. I am not surprise he’s prof of law where they just memories chapters, section, caps etc. In science, business and engineering we reason, theorize (take risks) and innovate; he has no background for that I will not be surprise if will drop dead after losing his current job and i am sure he can call his mother a dustbin. I thumbs up to those of you who are earning wealth to invest in Zambia later

  162. #171 Pround South African

Firstly, learn how to spell you illiterate primitive stone age savage.

Secondly, all those things are not your primitive Xhosa/zulu/whatever people’s ideas, they are the ideas of WHITE SOUTH AFRICANS. You *****s are so educated with Bantu Education that you cant even farm productively. Well guess what, us Zambians even use our most illiterate prisoners to farm and they do a hell of a good job. You Kiffirs even have BEE and Affirmative Action yet you’re still unproductive. You’re a liability to your country and a burden to hard working Boers. Now go use you Bantu Education and AA credentials and do something productive A-S-S-H-O-L-E.

  163. #175 Dumisani
You ask why didn’t we condemn “operation clean out the trash” in Zimbabwe.

It’s simple really, those f-u-c-k-i-n-g Zimbabweans are stupid and got what was coming to them. They used to call us names and look down on us after we helped them. I wish you SADC b-i-t-c-h-e-s knew the debt Zambia incurred because we where trying to liberate you (especially Zimbabwe and South Africa) and this is the thanks we get.

Well good rid ens to bad rubbish. You guys will also get whats coming to you. You forget your neighbor After your neighbor let you stay in his house at the time you had a rat problem. Well thank you and have a f-u-c-k-i-n-g nice day.

    I’m angry.

  164. FIFA CAN YOU PLIZ FIND AN ALTERNATE VENUE FOR THE 2010 WORLD CUP THE SAVAGES IN RSA WILL START SAME KIND OF TROUBLE WHEN THEY GET BEATEN IN THE FIRST GAME…ZAMBIANS IN RSA, GETBACK HOME WE DONT WANT ONE ZAMBIAN TO LOSE THIER LIFE..

  165. Professor Something.Stop calling Zambia a dustbin it is our country you think that where you are is safe. One day you will come back to what you are calling dustbin.Ask those in RSA and those in UK .

    Professor wafikwakwa stupid Professor.

  166. Proud S African (# 170 and 171). Zimbabweans were once as proud as you are, saying foolish things about Zambia. They now here in masses – going door-to-door selling sweets & biscuits (purchased from Zambia). Your country is going down and you dont even know it. You too will be here selling sweets.

  167. Ignore those Bantu Educated chaps like Dumisani … they were probably taught they are not AFRICANS but SOUTH AFRICANS, spot the difference. He can’t.

  168. this so called Dumisan and Pround (sic) South African are examples of what a typical south african is today.morons. how can you talk about Zambians in this manner. do you know that in the absence of our professionals, you would all be more stupid than you are now. thanks to our hardworking teachers at least you can read and write you maggots. you think by chasing hardworking people your country will be much better. to the contrary you will sink in deep poverty as you are so lazy that the only thing you do better is to just fart all day.

  169. # 191. Crazy_Zambian,

No need to get personal man. People here fail to see that not all foreigners are being burnt as the example of my family doctor. People here have crazy statistics (85% illiteracy levels?)I lived in Zamba 4 many years and know the goodness of your country. Our people have refused to accommodate those that bring disorder in our midst. Every country strives to develop will oppose retrogressive elements. Some says these guys came to replace the whites. Look at their pictures. Which white, where and for what? There are fools here calling on FIFA not knowing that Germans killed Ghanaians and went on to hold the finals. What ignorance. Before the world cup, SA must be cleaned

  170. I find the reaction on this blog to what is happening in South Africa very weired. Lets look at the facts.(1) We all agree that South Africans are zenophobes. (2)There is anti-immigrant violence in South Africa.
Presented with such a problem I would urge the immigrants not to risk their lives and just go back to their countries. You may agree or disagree with what is happening now. You can call the South Africans any names you can under the sky. It wont change a thing. They dont love foreigners and thats a fact. Better to create your own eldorado within your own borders than migrating to countries were you are mistreated. Learn to prosper within your borders. u cant force people 2 like u.

  171. Dumisani has a point! The targeted people are those that go there to take up jobs that should be left to the less educated in SA. I know someone who owns a firm in South Africa and has employed a lot of SA, when I spoke to him last night he showed very little concern about the whole issue. The problem is that our people want to go and be street vendors in other peoples towns. Take your investment to SA and you have nothing to worry about

  172. Its on this blog that we where complaining about the Indians who came in Zed to take up jobs that should be reserved for the locals. The only difference is that we didn’t fry them.

  173. Bring Back Botha and Apartheid, we made room for the ANC and this is how they pay us back.

Blacks fighting Blacks in Africa, pathetic, sick and shocking.

Go and fight the people that made you work in the mines and whore houses.

Mbeki is weak and finished, hand over power Mr President.

  174. I have followed the postings very well and would want to put in a 1 cent worth contribution. First things first, those who would want to say something, refrain from insults like the others have stated. Dumisani,Mbulawa, proud South African. You don’t seem to be realistic.Did you know that there are South Africans living and working in other countries elsewhere? Other African nationals are not throughing it on your throats that you like them. The bottom line is if your brothers & sisters are esle where and some lived eslewhere in the past, why can’t you live with them also.Honestly the few that I mentioned above, I would love to know your professions.I understand your cry, and am concerned too

  175. this is unacceptable they attacked two of our own without just cause even us we should start attacking south africans aswell starting with chikane himself, fyabupuba now they want to start making it seem that their orientation is the most powerful among the bantu people thats nonsense naifwe bene we should do the same here and rattle their cage.

  176. #65 with your good job and money, why have you ended up in the shanty?? Don’t lie my bro, just come back to misisi.

  177. Cont’d
Why I would love to know your professions is the fact that your approach to the issue at hand is not proper. Remember I said I understand and I’m concerned about the whole issue. Supposing the economies of these asylum seekers were to absorb these people, irregardless of the country they come from, what would happen to The South Arican economy? Am not insulting the South African masses that they are not educated, did you know that at some stage, a University in the Eastern Cape (Forte Hare) to be precise was run by the Zimbabweans? There is a bigger problem than what we see now.The President has in a way contributed to this especially with his quiet diplomacy

  178. #200 Dumisani

I have seen your point. I was emotional at the issue, how do you burn people. It is not right and even with what you’re saying, it’s not the right way of doing things. Believe me, no man is an island and if for some reason the SADC region future leaders had to develop a hate for South Africa because of what has happened now, who do you think is going to help you when you have problems in the future. Thats something you should think about.

  179. Cont’d from 210
Then the latest comments he made that the elections were managable.I would also love to check on how much you know about history, not only of South Africa, but Africa as a whole. Did you know that during the time of Apartheid, ANC had it’s head quarters in Lusaka. There was none who said these people are using our resources.Fine Zimbabweans have come in masses and locals are scared that they will be replaced. What are the authorities doing about it?Are there any checks and balances put in place to arrest the situation? If a South African finds or notices an illegal imigrant, why not inform the police than burn him or her? This is not good at all. This should be resolved ASAP

  180. Two wrongs do not make a right. Let us – all Zambians – exercise restraint of insults and malice.

What needs to be done now is to see to it that what is happenning in SA – perpetrated by a small group of uncouth South Africans and obviuosly orchestrated by evil driven minions – does not spread to the rest of Africa especially Zambia.

Let us seek ways of educating – by example of not lashing out and hauling insults at them SAns – our fellow African Citizens to do things in the right way.

  181. “Unless we know history, we have no present; and if we have no present, we can not even dream of ever having a future.” – unknown.

Let education, and proper education, thrive on this LT blog in general and in this thread particular.

  182. South Africans are mad for sure i even wonder whether this 2010 World gona take place. anyway, one sees for sure that South africans are getting out of their senses. Crime for them is Education batu speaking never understand a human person in this world

  183. I just wanted to add that I’m sorry for all the insults.

    I was emotional

I apologize for the swearing on this Blog.

  184. There has been no news on Zedians being attacked yet, xenophobia is happening in the shantis of RSA and most Zedians here dont stay in such areas, they come to RSA they study and get beta jobs. These stupid RSA’s are complaining about stupid jobs which shanti people get such as gardening, domestic work and the shacks that are being sold to foregners. They do’t want to work, they want everything on a silver plate. They have a lot of universities but they do not want to go and study. RSA citizens are *****s………

  185. The chaps perpetuating this violence deserve no mercy . strong words will relieve the emotional stress people are currently going through. you just have to see those images on bbc and imagine police were even seen smiling. this is pathetic. educating these murderers should not be seen as a solution as 99.99% of them are irriterate. all they know is that a foreigner is a bad person. shame

  186. Imagine dis-investing $20 B in your own economy, to eradicate apartheid in SA. KK should have been more pragmatic and paternalistic with these fellows for that kind of money. A ‘gentleman’s’ agrmt (verbal) was not good enough. To me that was the worst kind of mismgnt. by the comrades. Come to think of it, is there a way Zambians can lay tortious claims on the SA govt? RSA victims of apartheid are doing exactly that in the US against multi-nationals who indirectly supported apartheid by doing b’ness in that country at that time!

  187. Ba LT, what’s with the censoring of my comments? You want me to do it cleverly? All I wanted to say was that these South Africunts better recogonaiz that even Ba Mandela would be nothing without Zambia…are you going to tell me:

You are posting comments too quickly. Slow down…whatever?

  188. What is happening in RSA is an indictive of RSA society. RSA is at war with herself when it comes to crime. To add salt to injury, RSA is also a xenophobic society. This violence also indicate how weak ANC is at branch levels. I can tell you that in Zambia or Zim where you have strong branch politics, party vigilantees would have flashed out these ‘elmenents’. I just need to point out the RSA Gonmt is solely accountable for not de-campaigning xenophobia having know about the problem for some time.

  189. I agree with what #220. Ndate Mwanana says. Lets start legal proceedings against the SA government for bombings and other attrocties commited by SANDF in Zed. In fact the whole region should begin a process of quantifying the cost of helping liberate SA. Our Zed history must document exactly what we did for these guys e.g someone said on this blog that Thabo used a Zambian passport, How many current SA ministers were in Zed, how many went to UNZA or got scholarhips, etc etc. One could write a book – perhaps one should!!! Only thing is that ba swine tabaishiba uku belenga so teti beshibe stumo! The illegal immigrants in SA should seek refuge in libraries. No one will find them there!!!

  190. #206 Mutondo Tondo. Honestly I do not understand your ‘realism’. If we both agree that South Africans are violently xenophobic, it is not being unrealistic for me then to suggest that immigrants should preserve their lives by going back to their home countries. You and a lot of other contributors here are the ones who are been unrealistic. You are so full of your own idealism. There is all this talk about pan africanism…..nice idea but then the South Africans are not ready for it no matter how much you are going to shout it at them. Of course there are South Africans in other countries and they can also be advised to leave if their personal security is endagered.

  191. continued…..#206 Mutondo Tondo I dont know how old you are. In the late 70s the Nigerian government expelled more than a million immigrants from surrounding West African countries after protests by Nigerians that there were two many foreigners in the country. The Libyans did the same to Tunisians , Moroccans and Egyptions in the 80’s.

  192. Mbulawa #226 I do not have a problem with the government taking these people to their countries of origin. My problem comes in when people want to take the law into their hands by burning these foreign nationals, which is very barbaric.By the way these are the sons and daughters whose parents were, not long ago shouting we want to go to Lusaka and see Oliver Tambo. Little did they know that Lusaka is very far. Look at people who knows what it takes to be in a different country especially under very difficult conditions Winnie Madikizela-Madela. The other she went to the affected and said she’s very sorry of what is happening to the foreign nationals.I’m not condoning the mass influx of

  193. Cont’d from 227
foreign nationals especially doing it illegally.Because at the end of the day there is a price to pay. What am I saying, for those especailly the Zimbabweans that have trekked legally, give them time, after their economy has been rescuscitated they will definitely go back home. But it shouldn’t happen all at once becuase the South African economy can also come to a crunch, that’s what my basic economics tells. You will find that of these that you want to burn, there are doctors among them, engineers and so on and so forth. So getting to chase them at once even after their country is back to normal will be suicidal to South Africa.

  194. Mutondo look at my contributions again and try to understand what I am talking about. Yes we are all appalled by the violence and destruction of life that we are seeing; and I have already alluded to this (see 225). But now the question is do we continue to define and call South Africans names and all the unpalatable things we can think off? Do we continue harping about how different zambians are compared to South Africans? Do we concentrate on what is or dream about what should be? My own conclusion is that a large number of South africans are violently xenophobic. And if I were an immigrant in South africa now I will elect to leave. Tell me what is wrong with my position?

  195. Mutondo Tondo for your information Winnie M Mandela was never in exile. The closest she’s being to exile is when she was under house arrest.

  196. Those of you Zambians who stayed with ‘Mafreedo’ ANC freedom fighters,in your neighbourhoods of chilenje/libala will recall that we had so much respect for them as we addressed them either as Nana, Agogo or Sekuru. But,they came armed with AK 47s which they began selling in matero/lilanda and with that we started to expirience increased armed robberies from the late 1980s. To me they didnt care about anyone nor appreciate the courtesy from GRZ, as long as they lived long enough to make it back to liberated RSA.

Their lack of appreciation is being portrayed by their youths bringing more shame on them.

  197. SADC will not forget. Some one confirm that Zambians are among the nicest people in the world. I’ve seen many zambians treat foreigners as though this was not their country but the visitors.

  198. These all are fruits of ignorant leadership in that country. The infighting amongst the ill prepared leadership of Mbeki and the communist illiterate Zuma has left the most illiterate bunch of loiterers of SA to hate the well educated foreigners who not only thrive in their country as businessmen, but as technocrats that SA will never have. History has told us the same when Hitler and his stupid bunch of *****s did the same on the hardworking and well vested Jews. The attacks are not because you’re foreigners, but because of your success while they cannot attain the same. Presume SA’ns were literate and doing good and foreigners are doing odd jobs, do you think they rise against you? Hell NO

  199. What these fools are doing is indefenseable. A wrong is a wrong is a wrong. Calling on the immigrants to go back is not the solution. 1, People have a right to migrate. 2, No one has a right to attack immigrants, not even illegal ones. Immigrants have a legal right to live in that country as long as their stay was sanctioned by that country. They also have a legal right to defend themselves as long as it is within the perimeters of the laws and self defence. So, if the SA govt after failing to protect these people and they take up arms in their defence, it shud blame itself.

  200. #234 Hasnt it registered on you that a lot of these people are actually illegal immigrants that is why they are finding it difficult to even get out of South Africa. They are now in a bind. Of course people have the right to migrate. However where ever you migrate to it should be with legally binding persmission. That is why we have passports. That is why we have Visas indicating how long we are permitted to stay in the country we are visiting. Kalos2020 you seem suicidal.Taking up arms to fight to live in SA is so stupid. Do you really believe and trust that those illegal immigrants will be safe tp live in those shanties with the South Africans? They are not wanted so they should justleave

  201. #77, if its true that you are a Zambian in diaspora, then don’t ever comeback. You sound very retrogressive.

  202. #235 Mbulawa, so you are justifying Mob Justice? Are you telling me that these *****s killing people in SA are going around asking for passports to check their Visa expiration dates? What kind of thinking is that? Are you telling me that South Africans are only found in SA? Suppose every nation started the same nonsense. What these *****S are doing is called ETHNIC CLEANSING. Soon they will turn against each other because one tribe will accuse the other of getting better leaving he other behind. Sorry, if you think getting back solves the problem, then you don’t know what you are talking about. I don’t care who is illegal or not, there’s no justification to kill anyone.

  203. Dammit! I love Zambia, and I am proud to be Zambian. *****s can say whatever they want about us while we work hard. Lets invest in Zambia regardless of where we live, or got educated. Lets make our country the envy of civilised people and all barbarians.

  204. #237Kalos2020. Whether the south Africans turn against each other in an ethnic cleaning exercise is not my concern. I do not want to operate in hypotheticals. The rubicon has already been crossed. Poor South Africans hate foreigners. FACT. There has been too much immigration to South Africa within a short time. FACT. We are all appalled at the carnage. FACT. If I were in the same situation as these immigrants I would leave. I wouldnt listen and invest in your idealism. I am a practical person. I dont hallucinate about what should be…I always look at what is. Mind you this even if this spate of violence against these poor souls today be rest assured that they will still be targets.

  205. ie. Mind you even if this spate of violence against these poor souls were to be stopped today be rest assured that the immigrants will still be targets of hate crimes. Mind you prior to this explosion 458 Somalian nationals have been killed in hate crimes over the past 2 years. All I am asking you is to look at the numbers of illegal immigrants into South Africa and the impact it is having on an already impoverished and alienated section of South African society. It is a time bomb. We all want to migrate to somwhere we can better ourselves but please always weigh the risks.

  206. Excellent points Mbulawa. Pump some sense in these chaps burying their heads in sand. We didn’t get rid of the whites for foreigners. If you wanna migrate, migrate. But don’t come to South Africa. You’re not welcome!

  207. #240 Mbulawa
It seems you want to send people to there deaths. Tell me, where did majority of these illegal immigrants come from and who said there was no crisis where majority of these immigrants came from.

FACT, South Africans wanted the illegal immigrants because a South African diplomat said there is no crisis where majority of these illegal immigrants came from. To me, that translates in saying, there is no problem there, i want the people who have already migrated to STAY. Maybe if he had spoken against his best friend, South Africa wouldn’t have had 5 million illegal Zimbabweans living in there country illegally.

  208. CONT…
But because Mr Mbeki turned a blind eye at the millions of illegals immigrating in his country and saw that there was no crisis in Zimbabwe, it tells me that South Africa wanted the illegals.

In the case of Somali’s, FYI there is unrest in Somalia. You clearly cannot expect to send away Somali nationals so they can die with land mines and AK-47’s. To state that Somali or even DRC nationals should go back to there countries just shows how cold hearted you South Africans are. Those at most are in your country probably on the status of refugee or running away from unrest in there countries.

If Kenya which is less economically capable as South Africa can house thousands if not

  209. cont…
millions of Somali nationals, why don’t you want to do the same. Why do you turn your back on people who once helped you, tell me.

    Answer me this ok.
Imagine you are a Zimbabwe national, president Mbeki says there is no crisis in Zimbabwe. You run to South Africa because you fear your life is in danger. And then in South Africa, you are also treated violently. What is a person to do, what decision is a person to make if they know that if they go back to Zimbabwe, they’ll be beaten and killed, and if they stay in South Africa, they might have a chance but they’ll also be beaten and mayeb killed. You say “they should go back to there countries and make them better”,

  210. cont…
How do you go back to a country where you’ll be beaten and killed, how do you go back to a country where there are warlords ready to kidnap you, rape your wife and daughters and force you to work in the coltan mines, how do you go back to a country where every warlord there doesn’t even know who there enemy is and at any time the USA can come bomb the place where you reside. You tell me.

You guys are very cold hearted. Deeply cold hearted. You’re the same people who said there is no crisis in Zimbabwe even after you where seeing people jumping fences, that is clear that you wanted them so learn to deal with it and live with them.

  211. The end of the Africans is here! South Africa was the magic we all sought for, fought for, and zealously created. We gave power to the beasts, the remmants of chief shaka’s descendants; And here they come to exact the diabolical mission, which is to annihilate Africa and to subdue “North Africans” to the whims of the RSA! Yes, to put an end to Pan Africanism, to shame the heroes of africa, to make cheap the life of a black man, to torch the children, to end all economies in africa, to generate the great migration of black people into the abyss of hell. Here they come, to give africans a taste of south african savagery and debauchery, to prepare the way for the rule of a white man!The beasts!

  212. Oh, how you have fallen great South Africa! A great nation falls for a mere pittance of silver and soup! Its children succumb to the crumbs and tattered clothes of the weak and poor! Oh, how you have fallen! Your riches are now marred with hate, your children now carry the blood of africans, oh how you have fallen! Sing self-praises oh South Africa! Sing the song to praise Africa, because you are the beacon of hate! Shame on Kaunda, Shame on Gaddafi, shame on Mandela, Shame on Obasanjo because you gave us the beasts! Sing songs of war, descendants and surrogates of ignorance, loot, eat, drink and be merry, the Africans will not forget. Oh, how you have fallen, the great beast!

  213. I beg you my African brothers and sisters, answer me. When power is left in the hands of evil men, what happens? The wild animals, the birds of the air and the fishes of the seas and rives rejoice because dinner of human copses is at hand! The leaders of south africa have repudiated violence and xenophobia and yet daily their own kindred and surrogates are displacing, maiming weak and poor africans! Oh, wise men, answer me. Can Africa be deceived? The govt of South Africa is complicity in evil, it is the archtect of hate. Run away from the beast until you have tamed it.

  214. hello haters hahaha, its all gud, i could careless, even if you break those think zambian skull through your computers just to get to me and my people, you will still be one of the poorest nations 100 yrs from now.
You compare us to zimbabwe because of what? they spoke like us. ahahahaha very funny. now you know you all sound ridiculous, whether i am spelling right from wrong my message is loud and clear
STAY THE HELL AWAY PERIOD, you don’t do well with rejection do you? Did Kenneth Kaunda not to something similar to foreigner? Its happening to your asses and you seem to pee on yourselves.

  215. #77 How can you call the contry of your birth a dustbin???? I am a Zambian in the US, much as I am living a good life there is no way I can call my country a dustbin. You maybe a professor but knowledge does not always go with wisdom. So are you telling me you grew up in a dust bin and all your relatives live in a dustbin?

ba ona chimbwi bamu dwinga ali la kuti mayo nafwa
hahahahhaha, ohhhhhhhhhhh huhuhuhu crazy ma clazy oh crazy ma clazy whore, ching ching its yi birthday, we gon party like its yo birthday we gon to seep chibuku like its yo birthday hahahhaa

  220. 251 Proud South African. Shame on you. I live in London where a lot of your fellow white ‘proud’ South Africans have escaped to rethink how to re-colonize you.

I can remember the Kaunda speeches as a child. Although tedious they stuck in my head. We need to tighten our belts and help free our brothers and sisters. A little online research will open you up to how many are working to ensure your country and in fact the whole of Africa ceases to function. Pity with your mindset you choose to help them.

As for being one of the poorest nations, we opened our hearts and pockets to many who now don’t appreciate it. An African country that has never been a war zone is worth more than gold…

  221. ewe chi A phiri, waso ba? nichani? ohhhh i know what it is your chidudu is so dry it needs care. ama hule bengi in london, i know a few who can nyenga you mumatako and you will feel better.
with a colored mother and a white father, i dont know what the white southafrican where running away from? I was told it was your disillusioned personality that lead you to london in the first place, mwasiya south now you are pouncing upon kubulaya.
Phiri, you are chipata, petauke, talking about brotherhood in london with three jobs and no papers hahahha
kosene bane, just talk to levy to change things for you all abroad and back home. London, america, south, you are everywhere with heads shaped like.,.

  222. A phiri so thats what you do? hoping southafrica ceases to function? nangu you use mankwala yachi kondi, it wont work.
instead of looking out for ma paper, you future, you sit there looking out for the impossible. drive by the embassies in lusaka and see how many petaukeans are Fleeing, pleading for visas.
Truth be told ma jeolousy will lead you nowhere. Until you produce me some ngwees for that 1 kwacha instead of pounds a currency you dreamed about wen applying for the visa, until then my dear phiri petauke puppy, until then hahahah wonders will happen. the nyenga offer is still available you know hahah

  223. you #259 are such a disgrace to south africa. I am a southafrican living between lusaka and London. Zambians are the most peaceful people I have ever come across. For you to sit there and represent our country talking with so much disrespect, i can only say Your father’s sperm entered the wrong vXOOXOXOXO.
you are obviously very confused just like your color. What happened(this article) is unspeakable,Those days are long gone. I would like to find you and give you a very good beating for your luck of respect. Stay in your nightclubs but stay away from sites like these, I have very young teenagers always looking on the internet just to read craziness from people like you.

  224. #259, this is a zambian website, give the people some respect, am sure part of you has that. This is not my space or you tube, its a link to newspapers.
SHOW SOME RESPECT “PROUD SOUTH AFRICAN”. We have our own websites, write as many insults as you like on those instead.
Nobody cares what color you are white, black, colored, blue, so stop promoting yourself with this website. Nobody is interested in your comments that try so hard to divide nations. What are you here for? To speak your mind? Do it somewhere else, I, A SouthAfrican from kwazulu wishes to speak on behalf of my people,
we don’t acknowledge”PROUD SOUTHAFRICAN’s” Comments. This is obvioulsy a very sick person

  225. Basically i believe that the reason for this chaos is because the rest of africa can not click like the south african do its ok to understand that if u r white or asian its hard but black c’mon MFETU (CLICK CLICK) it’s bewildering that u can communicate by clicking. i’m sure every zambian here is proud that we dont have some one stupid leading the country, a pres who doesnt know bout AIDS a vice-president who thinks taking a shower after unprotected sex will prevnent AIDS wow SMART. Thank god we dont think raping babies cures aids!!hey they are having power cuts in SA now days jus like the rest of africa. sort yourselves out b4 everything thats good u have collapses in your face.

  226. Hope you dont embarass the continet at the world cup, and zed is beta than SA in football. have a good record against you even with our poorly paid local based players who come to dominate your league.

  227. zambia has a beter record against SA in football!!u cant mess with bullets if u dont know about copper!!!

  228. #175.what you know is what you are fed to believe. janjaweed means thief if you have to know. it has nothing to do with clour or race . the reason i use this title is coz i am in the land of the “janjaweeed”. see our problem is not with south africans per se, we are against the way the south africans are behaving towards foreigners. we are not concerned bout fifa but when you look at geopolitical repurcusions, this action would reduce the number of foreigners that are willing to come there.if you were in darfur you would know the so called rebels are the ones in the midst of banditry. talk about things you know , not what u here from biased media like cnn annd bbc. the govt does not attack

  229. unicef or wfp , that is done by ibrahim khalil and his cronie. not to say that the govt of khartoum is the best , but that is what we suffer as africans , mediocre leadership at all levels. xenophobia is a disease from whatever angle you look at it and it does not make sense to defend a wrong.

  230. Can anyone name one African country other than SA that has hosted 5 million immigrants? Please if you cannot name any cut the South Africans some slack that things have boiled over. The immigrants have brought this on themselves. People cannot wait and do nothing if they are becoming minorities in their own communities. 5 million is a lot of people to compete for scarce resources with a populace that already lives in poverty.

  231. Thanx #267. At last here is one Zambian whose brain is fully engaged! At least you recognise the problem. But wait 4 the dimwits to accuse you of encouraging violence. Thhey cannot differentiate between supporting and explaining the source of the problem.

  232. Sefelani speaks with wisdom unlike the so-called proud South african who speaks foolishly. Pride comes before a fall.

  233. RSA Sunday Times Excepts (May 28, 2008: By Rowan Philip:

Title: “No one hates foreigners like we do”. ” And our hostility to immigrants – particularly other Africans – is not confined to the poor”

Here are the results of a recent quesstionnaire in south africa:
33% of all South Africans want ALL foreigners kicked out even if they are legally here in the county.
63.3% of South African who earn R499 per (poorest) and those who earn above R20 000 per month (richest) want foreigners out of the country! There you had it. It is a matter of time before skills disappear forever in South Africa. 25% of residents in informal settlements are immigrants some of them work in the mines.

  234. RSA Sunday Times Excepts (May 28, 2008: By Gabisile Ndebele, Amukelani Chauke and Karen Van Rooyen:

Title: “Mommy’s not from here, so she had to leave us”. “Can u see my eyes, asked a grade 1 pupil of her teacher at John Mitchelle Pr Sch i Jeppes town, eastern JHB. “no,” replied the teacher – and the little girl gave reasons for her puffy face. ” I was crying the whole night yesterday because my mommy had to leave us with my father because she is not from here.” Other children at Reiger Park community center have been abandoned by their mothers who are not from here..

  235. RSA Sunday Times Excepts (May 28, 2008: By Fred Khumalo: Title: “We’re still at odds with our self-worth”. There is a school of thought that holds that even without the “foreigners” in the equation, the current xenophobia conflagrawould still have happened – except that this time around the fight over scarce resources would have taken place between south africans of different ethnic or social backgrounds. Painful as it is, there is an element of truth in this observation. But we have to claw back to the past to better appreciate the starkness of this statement….read on..

  236. I am not surprised that people are being killed in the slums of SA take a few people the like of #259 so foul mouthed, tell them stories of hatred and there would be dead people anywhere. Stick to the point of discussion, we munthu, insele shanshi kanshi?
Iwe, it is not good for SA and Africa as a whole when people are massackered for whatever reason. Read the latest comments of leaders in SA on bbc website. Don’t you think FIFA is worried about the forth-coming games being held in a country where such things are happening? Everybody is angry about the loss of life, do you think now Mbeki will realise there is a crisis?

  237. ..while the Soweto uprising in 1976 might have been sparked by students who were unhappy about being taught in Afrikaans, the fighting itself reached an unexpected complexity when communities in soweto started speaking about “zulus” attacking them. “Zulus” in this unfortunate narrative was a collective term for hostel dwellers…The hostel dwellers or outsiders were, by the way, not all Zulus: but they were all united under the barrier of being foreign in soweto – and were treated with disdain and suspicion by locals. The same local-vs-outsider dichotomy played itself out in Western Cape uprising of the late 80s and early 90s, when outsiders…

  238. ..under the guise of what was called the Widoeke, launched attacks on established Cape Town communities under the banner of UDF front or comrades.

The fight might have assumed political overtones with time, but it was essentially about resources: The newly arrived ppl from the Eastern Cape, who were recruited into the state-sponsored Witdoeke, needed accommodation and jobs – and they had to fight to release the local’s stranglehold on these resources….Maybe when the poor are finished with each other, that is exactly what they will start doing: eating the rich. .. The poor can be so desparate that they can do anything – including eating the hands that have a stranglehold on resources..

  239. A few months ago, blackouts caused by load shedding caused most of the trains to be delayed in some parts of the country. Imapatient crowds there in pretoria went on rampage and burnt the trains, coaches and train stations and offices. That is the way things work here. To most ppl, xenophobia is just a tip of an iceberg of what the beasts can do. The national psyche is violent. Soon, whites will be driven out of the suburbs…then Europe will make noise, right now they seem to be safe. Remember the book: “Eat the rich”? The rich people of this country will be lynched and eaten!

  240. Chis Rock says niggaz again –tekanya.Civilized behaviour is for the distant future, not in our lifetime.

  241. ..Mr Jacob Zuma (ANC pres. and incoming Republican pres.) was addressing the africans in Gugulethu (East Rand, JHB), township. He assured them that govt was aware of the prevailing joblessness and homelessness of the black people in townships…oh, no! the beasts would not listen…meeting broke into pandemonium. He was asked to leave and carry foreigners with him. Well, at least he was not lynched. Mbeki’s car would have been stoned from the look of things. On a good and positive note: The vice president was in Khutsong township. The people there showed remorse and invited foreigners back!! On condition that they don’t sell drugs. Another positive note: Western cape (cape town)..

  242. Western cape townships, through their community leaders, are asking the Somalis to come and reclaim their shops and goods and move on with their businesses.

Lots of electronic goods have been repossessed by the law enforcement officers in western cape. It seems like the light is shining in the tunnel. COSATU (mother UNION BODY) held massive rallies supported by the mine workers union to urgen south africans to stop Xeno activities. Messages were well received looking at the thousands and thousands of south africans who attended. Then the contributions for the displaced from south africans is also overwhelming!

  243. hello haters, one zambia one njala, ola haters trying to hate on moi, i not statistics, so you all You all should just deal with it click click hahahhahhaha zambia is poor, n all o u are simple copy cats n thats a facta n not fact,

  244. this ***** proud south african is coloured. he must have one tooth missing and his father was a mechanic. this kind of species usually have sex with thier sisters and in extreme cases with their mothers. they are usually high on drugs and they die young because of their lifestyles. they usually do not want to be close to their black parents prefering their white heritage. most of them have no formal education and insults are thier everyday occupation.

  245. OMG! The award definitely goes to proud southafrican, always incoherent. This chap has issues and needs to up his meds.

  248. and the country with the most pretenders awards goes to…..zed, as you all call it. Njala ni njala banensu, why do you sit panse when eating yellow nakuku with salad haha but you sit inside the house even closing the door wen eating kapenta no bwali(mu gaiwa) so the smell doesnt come out hahaha. How much is bunga these days? even nkongole is not acceptable these days but why nkongole in the first place? your economy sucks, instead of attacking me, do something about your government that is out there making headlines(chiluba)spending his country’s funds, to this day you all are so silly for folding your arms behind your backs n living yo grandchildren with nothing because it was ba chiluba

  249. i can see why you got deported.I am a strong southafrican christian man with high morals. I thought i told you last time to stay the hell away from this blog if your intentions are totally based on seperating African Nations and not Uniting them.I have purchased a brand new device called a “brain” for you. It comes in different sizes but i guessed your size was an extra small becuz you know the size of your thinking said it all.I was the highest bidder at -2 ngwee, thats how much the vendor was willing to sell it, he understood your condition is extremely rare and that very few doctors would treat you. Proud Southafrican, stop this otherwise my offer still stands just pay for shipping costs

  250. Obviously Proudsouthafrican loves living in Zambia! It speaks the language, and loves the country. If Zambia is such a horrible place and Zambians are awful people, what in the world is this moron doing in Zambia?

  251. i was right. this ***** is coloured. anyway you have just comfirmed my hypothesis. thanks and i shall now close the last chapter of my PHD thesis. i was researching on you *****s and proud south african you were such a wonderful guinea pig.

  255. 256. I am coloured too, and I just want all of the world’s citizens to know that not all coloureds are foul mouthed demons like proudsouthafrican. I love Zambia, south Africa, and all my African brothers and sisters. I am proud of my black family, and of my white family. Viva Africa!

  257. I just want to say that i am sorry for taking this too far.
It started out as a blog, and then i read some hurtful things about South Africa.I was on leave and barely doing anything except surf the net, than i spoke my mind and got slap after slap. I started enjoying the mess i was creating. God is not happy with jokes like the ones i posted. I am very sorry to everyone I offended.
I dont want God to judge me for putting so much negativity on a popular wesbite like this.
Please forgive me and take care.

  258. Again I am very sorry for being so shallow and selfish in my thinking. For those of you who know Christ, you know that he reveals himself to each one of us in very unique ways.I am that person he touched and I choose him instead of violence, division and Egoism. I am trully repentant for all my words. May God almighty touch your hearts to allow forgiveness and space to move on and close this chapter. To everyone i offended and to those i let down, I am truly sorry from the depth of my soul.
May God bless you and Bless Zambia

  259. -It is really thoughtful of you 297 & 298 to apologise on behalf of Proudsouthafrican.

-Proudsouthafrican rarely begins his sentences with capital letters, and has poor grammar. 297& 298, your writing style is ten times better than Proudsouthafrican’s.

-I wish Proudsouthafrican himself had the decency to apologise to those he has offended.

  260. proudsouthafrican. there is humbleness in apologising. thanks for seeing the light and no hard feelings man. enjoy your freedom of speech. its the only thing you have in this world.

  261. Dear # 299, i am proud south african, this is not Sefelani(i think that’s his name). I will not you stop me from doing the right thing. The violence against Zambians in my country has gotten worse. I am human and I feel very bad about it and choose not to make a joka of this anymore. I apologised and again I am apologising to every zambian in and out.
I truly am sorry and repentant of my useless acts on this blog.
    Have a great day all.

  262. Dear #300, you are right. There truly is humbleness in apologising. I am glad i did the right becuz the Zambians going through this mess are really going through a hard time, for me to sit here and play games about this issue would only allow God Almighty to punish me for being so cruel. I did not hurt the zambians in SouthAfrica but my actions hurt the Zambians that read this blog and that was NOT right. So #299, its okay for you to say what you feel, its your website. But I choose Jesus and I am sorry for all this chaos.
    Much love to you all.

  263. Hi Proudsouthafrican, it’s nice to know that you are the one that apologised. The difference is grammar and writing style was so drastic and suspicious, almost as though an exorcism had taken place. Brother, I admire your courage in admitting wrong and going with your good side. It takes a real man to admit wrong doing. Peace.

  264. hi i will be visiting Zambia this december. I have been gone for almost 10 yrs, i know so much has changed. I am looking for a nice lodge to surprise my husband who will be visiting Africa for the first time.
Didnt know which other site to go to. I have checked out zambiatourism and also zamazing, i would like to talk to anyone that can give me information.
    Please respond.

  265. black South africans attacking fellow blacks are ignorant stupid fools! I travelled to SA last year on a business trip from europe, black Customs officers at the airport in Jo’burg were stopping only fellow black africans from the Nothing to Declare Exit to go and have their luggages searched, while muzungus where greeted politely with a smile. When they did’nt find what they were looking for, they rudely called one a bloody kwere kwere, “foreigner” those *****s prefer to dance half naked for white tourist with a few coins visiting the shanty compounds after years of spitting in their face, than respect a fellow black man. Let us treat them the same way or worse next time around.

  266. Does the term Uncle Tom meaning any thing to you?,that’s your average black southafrican.Looking up to his lord and master.

  267. Whats up very nice blog!! Man .. Beautiful .. Amazing .. I’ll bookmark your web site and take the feeds additionally?I am glad to seek out so many useful info right here within the submit, we need work out extra techniques on this regard, thanks for sharing. . . . . .

  270. Hello, Neat post. There’s a problem with your website in internet explorer, could check this? IE still is the market leader and a big element of people will leave out your fantastic writing because of this problem.

  271. Unquestionably imagine that which you stated. Your favourite hranitelni dobavki appeared to be at the net the simplest factor to keep in mind of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people think about worries that they just don’t recognize about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing with no need side-effects , other folks could take a signal on web. Will likely be again to get more from your site. Thanks

  272. I do agree with all of the concepts you have presented for your post. They are very convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are too short for beginners. May just you please extend them a bit from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
