PF structures weak at grass root -Mwamba

Share

THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Livingstone says the party did not perform well in the just ended presidential election because the party structures at the grassroots level are weak.

PF Livingstone Constituency Chairman Cosmos Mwamba said the PF membership did not exist at the grassroots adding that the party only existed at the constituency level.

”There are no structures of PF as at now on the ground. We only have a structure at the constituency level but we want this to change so that we can be more organised in 2011,” he said.

He said in order to address the problem and to avoid a repeat of the 2008 Presidential Election, the party had embarked on a mass recruitment of members.

Mr Mwamba said the party was doing everything possible to ensure that it emerges victorious in the 2011 presidential and parliamentary elections.

He also dismissed claims hat the party was just for Bembas and Easterners adding that everyone was free to join the party.

  1. Weak party structures means weak leaders in that province, i think PF over-relie on Sata the great and Libinda. other leaders must do more to entice people to particicpate in the affairs of this country. Good luck PF, Good luck UPND and Good luck to other progressive opposition parties except FDD & UNIP. these are irrelevant to the mordern politics, they sold themselves out.

True observation. PF, you have a very long way to go if your ever hope to form GRZ in Zambia. I wish you the very best.

As for this quote, the PF is currently a region party of Bembas in Luapula, Northern and Copperbelt Provinces.
It has however a chunk of Easterners who support it in Lusaka Province.
It is painful truth, but true as reflected by the 2001, 2006 qnd 2008 Presidential and Parliamentary election results.
So, let the PF work hard to change this image that they have and also let someone advise the PF Leader Undereducate MC Sata to hold a convention if he hopes to convince anyone that his personal party is democratic. Otherwise, though luck for few will see sense.
