Nakonde hit with shortage of fuel

Share

NAKONDE district in Northern Province has been hit by a critical shortage of fuel.

The fuel shortage that has entered the fourth day today has paralyzed business in the border town.

A snap survey carried out by the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) revealed that some motorists have even packed their vehicles after the only two filling stations ran out of the commodity.

Some motorists talked to said they cannot get fuel from alternative sources in Tanzania because the commodity is expensive in that country.

A resident, Christine Malama who regretted the shortage of the service, said the short supply of the commodity has made business to come to a standstill.

A fuel attendant at Chaula filling station said they were expecting to receive the commodity any time.

    • its tricky bakaamba mwe kapondo………wen fuel was reduced in Zed ,the Tanzanians didnt reduce,so the Nakondeans stated buying fuel from Nakonde filling stations instead of Tunduma. Now that the zed Kwacha has detoriated(in comparison to other currencies),they are finding it expensive to buy fuel @ Tunduma filling stations.BUT the TANZANIANS have maintained the same fuel prices….!

  3. Akapondo, you are right. This story is not true. I am currently in nakonde and i can confirm that people are driving as usually. Chaula filling station has run out of fuel yes , but we dont depend them for our fuel. How can one say fuel in tanzania is expensive?

  4. Does Peter Mumba know?.That guy is simply useless,he is supposed to be an MMD Cadre ,not a Permanent Secretary.
