I have only ruled Zambia for five months so far, Rupiah Banda

PRESIDENT Banda has castigated leaders of opposition political parties for criticising him when he has only ruled Zambia for five months so far.

Mr Banda said in Mongu yesterday that Parliament had just approved his first national budget, which targets to address plight of the poor people.

“Work has just started. We expect those in opposition, those who didn’t want us, to naturally assume that we are wrong people, that we haven’t done anything.

“The Minister of Finance (and National Planning Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane) has just rolled out a sound budget, which has targeted to address the plight of Zambians wherever they are, considering Zambia’s limitations and those of the world,” Mr Banda said.

He was speaking at Mongu Airport yesterday where hundreds of residents received him to a thunderous welcome for this year’s Kuomboka ceremony.

President Banda said he would not sink to the low levels of some opposition leaders who do not respect the people.

“Zambia is big and for you to be a leader you have to respect people. You don’t have to count on few people who you think come from where you come from. I will always count on you people (of Western Province) to block this kind of leadership,” he said.

Mr Banda thanked the people of Western Province for supporting him and the MMD during campaigns for last year’s presidential election.

“I would like to thank the Royal Highness Litunga and all other royal highnesses and all our party workers for the wonderful work they did to ensure that what was started by my predecessor, who concentrated on developing this province, continues,” he said.

He said people of Western Province were wonderful and described them as special people with a great culture.

He was pleased to work with many of his ministers, permanent secretaries and administrators who hail from Western Province because they know what loyalty to leadership means.

And Mr Banda said he was well, fit, and ready to lead Zambia, considering all the attacks he had been subjected to since he assumed office.

He asked Zambians to remain united and peaceful if the country was to develop.

President Banda said there were too many examples of countries where warfare was the order of the day because their people had failed to be united and peaceful.

The President said he would today take an aerial view of flooded areas in the province for the government to determine how to help the victims.

“It is our duty to look after people who face difficulties as a result of floods,” he said.

Earlier, MMD national chairperson Michael Mabenga said the opposition should not waste their time on criticising Mr Banda because the first national budget under his leadership had just been passed by Parliament.

Mr Mabenga, who is also Mulobezi member of Parliament, advised the people of Western Province to neither waiver nor be discouraged by opposition leaders’ criticism of Mr Banda, but to move forward with the President’s aspirations and programmes.

He said people in the area voted for the MMD in 2006 and 2008 because of their belief in the ruling party and its policies.

He advised party leaders at all levels to explain to the people good things that the MMD was doing.

Western Province minister, Adonis Mufalali, said people in the area were grateful for Government’s quick response to the plight of flood victims.

“I am convinced that nobody will die of starvation as long as the MMD remains in power,” he said.

Mr Banda was later in the day scheduled to pay a courtesy on the Litunga in Lealui, and receive the paramount chief at Nayuma Harbour in Limulunga.

He is today expected to inspect components of 40 bridges for the Mongu-Kalabo Road, before taking an aerial view of flooded areas from Libonda to Mongu.

Mr Banda is scheduled to depart Mongu for Lusaka at 14:00 hours after lunch at Limulunga, courtesy of the Litunga.

  1. Goodmorning bloggers.
RB has tactically timed speech & event. Amidst this colourful ceremony, such words will go down the listener’s ears like butter. But wait for the aftermath.

  2. Just work, even if you have ruled Zambia for only 5 months,we should have seen some change. But with you things are getting worse from better.Guus Hidinnk has managed chelsea for less than 2 months now.But we are seeing results and his hard work. What are you telling us?

  3. Ba Moze, where are you? Your man here is saying he has only ruled for 5 Months (i guess if someone had asked him a question he would have replied that that was a difficult question). However, public office comes with public scrutiny of the occupier’s performance, particularly the Presidency office. You want pipo to keep quiet when things are not going right just because someone has been in office for just 5 Months. My FOOT!! The earlier mistakes are spotted and corrected the better for all MWE BANTU!!!

  4. no 4 Can you say that in English ! lol

    Coming back to Rupiah
If being a president is doing what Rupiah has been doing in the last 5 months , we all can be presidents. Kuomboka, his village etal, watch out for me when i turn 45 (is that the age for presientail etc) if so , 21 years to go.

  5. RB you have a point but that should not be an excuse or deter you from delivering.I still have some benefit of doubt in you coz you will still be President till 2011 hence not supporting you will be detrimental.I remain watching what you will do Mr President!

  6. Please RB have a sense of decency. You do not do politics at every occassion. The Kuomboka ceremony is not a venue for cheap politiking.

  7. Yah …I think it will take us a long time to have a republican president. I hope there’s no serious wave of winds on the way as we surely are in autopilot mode!

  8. I personaly didn’t like Mwanawasa when it comes to presidential material …but I miss him at this point. Naba Chama Chakomboka was even beter off!

  9. When men are not regretting that life is so short, they are doing something to kill time. Short as life is, we make it still shorter by the careless waste of time,in activities that are non developmental. You have only a short period of time in your life to make your mark, One cannot buy, rent or hire more time. The supply of time is totally inelastic. No matter how high the demand, the supply will not go up. There is no price for it, the 5 months time is gone forever, and will never come back. if only you can concentrate more on the well being of the nation and stop being protective of your position, you can do much in a short period. There is no substitute for time,5 months is too much time for people to notice ones marks in the race, your direction should have been visible by now.

  10. #7 Great Kalu
What I meant was RB has taken advantage of the cheerful scenario at the ceremony to justify his shortcomings in successfully addressing the challenges of the Zambian people and alleviating their burdens within a time frame of 5 months.
The probabilities of his easily audible, oratorical kergyma, will however turn out to be mere perceptions, inbalanced by a wrong decisions-making cabinet, increasing the vulnerability and risk of rigorous economic and political mismanagement.
There you are. I hope you have the capacity to fathom my illucidation.

  11. Word up #15 Ghost Dog, very interesting & thoughtful analysis.
There is nothing more precious and beyond human reach like time. Right now the clock is ticking, we all have less time to live than the second I begun writing this line.

  12. Nine Chale Mulishani mukwai? Ghost dog where have you been hiding? Missing you ka.I hope you are fine, great to see you.

  13. Ba#5, Chewe fimo fimo, #7, Ba great fimo fimo,#9 ,Ba Sharp fimo fimo#,15 , Ba Ghost fimo fimo, and Nine Chale, Happy Easter and mwapoleni.
Felt like saying hi to you dudes with Mr. Stevens blessings. Just enjoying my Eaater break.. Hats off to you dudes..

Ba chewe mwa dabwa sana ati nimwe Ba Dude? lol

  14. Regardless of my personal thoughts about him, I think his words in this instance have substance and all political leaders should learn to have the grace to applaud when the right words are spoken or actions taken. It is no good being being a continuous critic on every topic even when doing so is detrimental to the common cause. If all politicians want the best for the country, they need to learn when to co-operate and when to provide constructive, I repeat – constructive, criticism. Heckling like parrot with no master at any given opportunity is of no use to anyone – the role of an opposition leader should be to support when right to do so, criticise AND offer an alternative course when necessary, and provide a clear alternative path for the future so that citizens have a choice.

  15. CLIVE CHIRWA was launching his MMD presidential candidate bid in SHEFFIELD ENGLAND.instead of MUNALI CONSTUENCY or KANYAMA i now agree that the man i admire though is out touch with reality.

  16. #22, Thanx and extending the Easter greatings to your family too …

#23, I know that Ba Chewe. I believe we need a laugh or two once in a while, after all its a public holiday. Thanx for your acknowledgement….

  17. The unparallel difference of RB and titular party leaders like Sata and HH is the enduring fact that RB is a typical veteran politician and educated career Diplomat who knows how to let his opponents self strangulate. This is man that fought and founded the independence of this country with KK.He did not just serve under KK but was schooled to navigate through political waters.Armed with a Masters Degree from a Pretigious Swedish School, insuegency political rhetoric of the opposition is going to eave him lone sellable candidate.

  18. Five months ? How much has the Kwacha devalued in five months. How many jobs lost? How many trips have you made to different countries? Thro in na Ka Mfuwe trip ? Point here is five monhts is a long time to make a difference in the highest office. Mambala iwe!!

  19. Hello Thenjiwe Stevens and all, very interesting readings, of note , not necessarily preferred are , #15, 24, 28. This in my view, DJ has done a good /shown media know how and the message from RB has given King Cobra migraine headache……. Long live The Litunga.

  20. #25, CHEWE, Happy Easter to you all. I am extremely saddened by Fr. Frank Bwalya. My latest information is that he actually wishes to exit from the priesthood to concentrate on PF politics. I hope that one of you bloggers can save him from this mistake. Because once he leaves the Lord’s protection no one will take him seriously, not even Sata. I propose Ba Chewe writes to discourage him from from getting involved with politicians as is he is currently doing. Ba Chewe napapata save our priest he is acting from ignorance of politicians.

  21. Even companies demand for productivity that is why there is 3 months probation , 6 months probation ,yearly appraisals etc. These are all benchmarks which are you used to assess an employess perfomance during that duration ,because it shows clearly how the employee will perform in the longterm .Companies and Organizations make a decision based upon the probation period. Zambians judge for yourselves as you are the employers and the Govt is the employee. God bless Zambia.

  22. HI PEOPLE,

I think its time to just say helo to you all.

I have nothing to comment coz it seems to me that I had already aired my opnions on stories of this kind

  23. #31 Nkole the judge, your sentiments are in good faith, however Fr Bwalya having been to the mountain top of religion is well prepared to be in the valley of it……..Religion and understanding of God is very complex and complex it becomes with modern scientific/technological innovations…..

  24. 5months *30days = 150 days..!! This is too much Mr President. Ask Obama. He has ruled less than 100Days, and the results are showing. Plz give us a break from yo cheap talk Man. We want real change, a policy direction and a Better Zambia.

  25. Nine chale, thanx Dude, peace and happiness bro, chewe wasup buddy ,my man am cool,I just had to refrain for a while.Mrs stevens happy easter too, and God bless all ya.

#30,no reaction,Jesus lives and have a happy easter!

  26. RB the diplomat. Go, RB go. You are such a breath of fresh air. Zambia needs more of your calibre, not rouble rousers who do not know where they have come from and least of all where they are going. And who will remain perpetually in campaign mode even when it is time for work and building friendships and the nation.

  27. #35, can you elucidate on the results which are already showing from Obama’s 5 month presidency? Bloggers like saying that on here without giving substantial impetus to their claims. @#21, Jaro – your post is the most sensible one yet, and basically sums up the crux of this matter. Balanced and well-thought out responses merit more credibility than posts which constantly make far-fetched accusations and claims without any contemplation, and which choose to oppose every single government initiative for the sake of it. I’m not a fan of the MMD, but that doesn’t mean discretion goes out of the window every time the President speaks. He has 2 more years to substantiate his claims… criticise him then. ‘Tis all.

  28. # 37 I actually meant that you made sense in your number 15 posting though in poetic and proverbial writing typical of you…..shalom

  29. #19 Mrs Thenjiwe fimo fimo,Thanx and happy Easter to you as well.Sorry for replying late,I went for Sunday Easter mass.Mwapolenipo na imwe?

  30. Firstly, someone said “actions speak louder than words”. While the message by President RB Banda seems to be great and timely, it leave a lot to be desired following his campaign messages in the Eastern Province of Zambia last year where he told people to give him a 100% vote since he comes from there. So whom does he think he can cheat? Sorry, Mr President RB Banda for I do not forget easily?

On ““Zambia is big and for you to be a leader you have to respect people. You don’t have to count on few people who you think come from where you come from. I will always count on you people (of Western Province) to block this kind of leadership,” he said.”, I agree with you though and hope that you are learning how to share this message to all Zambians from the UPND’s president HH.

  31. The man has run out of ideas and he doesnt have a plan whatsoever, Ruphia was only in office for only a few weeks and he increased his and his cronies’ salaries. …..they just yap when it suits them, typical primitive politician….

  32. #38 wiseman,
let me remind you that I used to like Sata so much even during the reign of Mwanawasa L.P. And l mentioned it to my friends before LEVY died that he had worked well during his term but am still giving part of the credit to Sata for pushing him so had into the corner.
what am trying to say is that, we need an opposition that is constantly pushing and monitoring the movements of those in power for African, I repeat, African leaders to perfom.
the mentallity is, if you relax they also relax.

  33. #41,Thank you for acknowleging. Thanks so much and good you went for EASTER SUNDAY. With me I had to go to work as someone did not report for work ….. well somethings do happen…

  34. 42 continued.

On the other hand, this is a lesson to many Zambians from some known tribe to change their strategy and join us Zambians who need real development to reach all places in our great Nation.

24, AKAPONDO, I am glad to read your contribution. I just hope Prof. Clive Chirwa will prove to Zambians and the whole world that he is a real professor who can read the situation obtaining at some instant in an activity. I read the words of MMD National Secretary Dr Katele Kalumba about the ‘good Prof. Clive Chirwa’ who is ‘good in motor vehicle safety’ and that the Prof.’s membership at katuba MMD Constituency has never reached the MMD Secretariat in Lusaka which has worried me about his (Prof.’s) seriousness about his MMD 2011 presodential candidacy for he seems not welcome…

  35. 46 continued.
… in the MMD. I just wish our good Prof. Clive Chirwa all the very best in his political career and ask him or those close to him to advise him to either form a New Political party this year or join the possible winning team – the mighty UPND – in the 2011 elections.

What amazes me is his unwavering ambition to continue with trying to fill the seeming MMD 2011 presidential candidate vacancy. To me, it appears that there is someone, may be former President Chiluba FTJ, who is backing him to continue hoping that he will be the MMD’s choice to attempt the presidential country elections. Otherwise, Prof. Clive Chirwa’s analytical skills are seriously under question although he has done well in ‘Aircraft crashworthyness’ and ‘safety of humans’.

    All the best to Prof…

  36. It is indeed disheartening to see that the criticisim of RB is 90% comming from pipo affiliated with one tribal group.
Some are crying about lost jobs, devaluation of the Kwacha, closed mines.
Show me a country which is oppositly bucking the above. Even in the developed world. Zero. no country, every country is suffering. Giving an empolyee a probationary period to judge his performance is something else to judging someone on 5 months running the welfare of 12 million souls. Even a newley opend shop has more than 5 months loses drawn into its feasability.

  37. 31, NKOLE WA MAPEMBWE UMFWE MILANDU, greetings powerful data source and take care. On “father” Bwalya and your information, I am not surprised to read it. Such is expected from Catholic priests and I can only wish him the very best in his planned political career, if your data is true.

As we used to say at UNZA, many came but few finished their programmes successfully. Endurance is the answer and God is the provider for nothing is impossible with Him according to the Holy Scriptures.

Back to President Banda and his “He said people of Western Province were wonderful and described them as special people with a great culture”, this is a nice message although the Lozi people are clever and can read the lines carefully. Remember the Undereducate and his promise of restoring…

  38. #44 background: I do not and I believe that no one disputes the important role of the opposition, but ours is just a little bit on the noisy and, if you allow me, destructive side of balance.

  39. In recognizance of the many valid points posted here , WHAT we need is the Lozi word RESPECT. Zambia needs a great leader and where that individual will come from in 2011 …… Only the big person above knows ….Certainly not HH nor Sata

  40. 49 continued.
    … Barotseland issue.

On “He was pleased to work with many of his ministers, permanent secretaries and administrators who hail from Western Province because they know what loyalty to leadership means”, this statement by President RB Banda is tricky. While it is aimed at winning support from the Western Province for his would-be 2011 MMD presidential candidacy to stand for a second terms of the Zambian Presidency, it seems to send a message of indicating that people from other provinces of Zambia are not loyal to him, President RB Banda, or the Zambian Presidency Office.

Such has a potential of reducing President RB Banda’s support as the words leaves much to be desired.

I hope my Zambian President RB Banda will more careful in future with regard to his…

  41. Following “PRESIDENT Banda has castigated leaders of opposition political parties for criticising him when he has only ruled Zambia for five months so far”, I urge my President RB Banda to do the opposite. Under normal circumstances, a person needs to welcome all sorts of criticism especially CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. Otherwise, bootlicking has never and will never help any individual.

Just look at former President Mr Chiluba FTJ (Hon. Doc., Malawi) and people who were showing blind subtle loyalty to him like the Undereducate. Where did the no criticism by the Undereducate then take Mr Chiluba FTJ. Why is the Undereducate giving Mr Chiluba FTJ serious criticism now and not then when he was enjoying government money as Minister Without Portifolio or of something like Health and LG?

  42. 53 continued.
    LG being Local Government.

In all, criticism is what builds us into better people at the end of the day. Even the Holy Scriptures indicates a message of “spare the rod and spoil the children” in Proverbs 13: 24 – “He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes”. Therefore, let President RB Banda stop using time, i.e., 5 months in Presidential Office, as an excuse for his Administration’s failures. The President, RB Banda, needs to just concentrate on making sure that he improves the lives of Zambians across the whole world in his 3 yr or so First Term of office. Let him do little of responding in the press to issues thrown at him, but work hard to showcase his results as a testimony to his abilities.

  43. The greatness of of a leader , is not seen in supporting kindred but the least of the brethren …If I were to support a lozi for presidency that would be certainly immoral for me being a lozi . It is there fore imperative that we, let Zambians think freely without coercion… SATA and HH come 2011 will be guests….. Let thy will be done the controller of all

  44. #55 wiseman-reborn,
we need people who think in your line to blog on this site.
I agree with you and hope that maestro fimo fimo does so as well.
We don’t need a person who comes from where (province) or what ( tribe), we need wise people from anywhere like the USA did.

  45. The author of OUR Zambian Nation anthem was a great thinker so was the author of the Silozi version of South Africa National anthem….. calling for unity …..

  46. #48,You are right. Its funny how bloggers can criticise.Take for instance Russia, theri ruble have lost value by 30%,since Dec 1 million russians have lost their jobs and Companies are closing and recently Govt had to move in quicly to save LADA. All this coz of the crisis.Coming to the US,Unemployment is at 25-year high and the dollar has fallen against major currencies and not to mention the future of GM.Their citizens are not complaing against their govt rather they are rallying behind their leaders. Its is a fact that the views of the bloggers here is representative of how Zambians think and until we get a sense of dirction,we will continue moving in circles for we enjoy being armchair critics and watch our neighbours develop.

  47. Obama has ruled for a short period too, His rule has been characterised by high unemployement and unprecendent levels of poverty in the US. There is no success associated by his rule that has reached the people and yet few will blame Obama for the difficulties times faced in the USA. Unfortunately back home because we depend on unethical media to influence our opinions, We have decided to blame the President for the problems associated by not having designed mechanisms to caution us from the Global Financial crises. Magande is on record as having said the global crises will not affect Zambia. We should learn to form our own independent opinions instead of our opinions being formed by the little knowledge. I wonder how many of us have read this years Nat. budget to say its bad.

  48. Hi everyone. My name is RB and I am the current Rpublican President of Zambia. For your information country/women, brother/sister…I have only been president for five months and this is too short a time to be judged. I therefore, need to be given ample time to turn this nation around…bla bla bla!! News flash RB, actions speak louder than words. You are asking for a sympathy vote and it ain’t coming if you and your government don’t produce positive results. Zambia’s budget is close to nothing in real money and this questions the reality of your perceived goals. No one in Zambia should go hungry…how realistic is this? Or is this an indication of change in ideology…Socialism?!!

  49. I am wondering whether he is a RULER or a LEADER. If he is a ruler, for sure he is giving wrong measurements. African leaders always think of budget as measure for good leadership. What political, and other human endeavors? This is a guy who fired two deputy ministers at a cadres’ rally. Watching that on you tube sends chills in my spine.

  50. #48, and #59, excellent points. Perhaps if people read a bit more widely instead of relying on the Post as their harbinger of news they take as Gospel, they would realise the same. There are no results to speak of of Obama’s presidency yet. He hasn’t even managed to fill in all of his top Cabinet positions in a period of 5 months… and he is still doing so faster than his predecessors. The results of his presidency will be observed later on this year and in the years to come, not tomorrow. Zambia is not unique in the world, nor are many of the problems it faces as a consequence of the global financial downturn. People really need to look at the bigger picture. We are experiencing the effects of a downturn we did not cause because of the leadership we had before RB and LPM.

  51. The lozis think so bo ma so it is bo ma , they think bo ma……. Sata and HH whom`s vocabulary is highly questionable …..They shall never be at plot one … God forbid.

  52. #59. Your ignorance really makes Africa the envy of the world. How in the world can you blame the unemployment in the US on Obama? What are you reading? Pravda? Evening his opposition the Republican Party in the US cannot venture in relating what you just did to Obama. In fact his coming into office has reduced the trend and consumer confidence is improving. Caterpilar was to lay off 20000 world wide but have seen some difference in the few day that Obama is in office, they decided to shelf the idea. What are you smoking dude?

  53. He wants to be given more time to destroy. You Zambians are sleepy. How long will these people continue to lie to you. This man made Thandiwe pregnant in few days. How come he wants years in job performance. Seems like he is good at bedroom duties and cannot do the national duties. I care less on his bedroom duties, I want to see him perform on national duites. I have no time to wait. If you have time to wait, you can, but I don’t. The world does not revolve on him. We have other things to do and more to solve as long as you guys keep this failure in office. Presidents and CEO’s have to perform on day one. We shall pass a vote of no confidence on this failure you call RB.

  54. Kalos 2020 Number 65,

You seem to have not understood my point on Number 59, I was comparing the Two Presidents and Public pecerption on them, Just like unemployement and economic downturn can can not be blamed on Obama, the same should not ENTIRELY be blamed on RB in Zambia. My advise was that we should start forming informed opinions on certain issues and read between the lines whenever certain sections of the society would want to take adventage of our haterage on certain political leaders.

  55. Stop comparing Zambia to other nations. Zambia has been independent for forty four years and yet has little to show for. You have no idea what the Russians or Americans are thinking to stop the rot. To be a leader you have to be a thinker. And to be leader does not entail rushing for political office you can be a leader in any field. So far, Zambia is a leader in political chaos, quabbles and mismanagement.

  56. Ba Litunga, naka british uniform, cant we have our own design for Kings? every thing is rented or copied. and you are proud that you have a Kings regalia? that uniform is for low ranking palace guards yet time in time out we but the custom made uniform for the Litunga. It pains me. The country needs to have a unified stance on how Kings or chiefs regalia shud look like not this british thing of the colonial days. its better to even polish up the siyomboka and make it more encompassing so that when the litunga wears his siyomboka, all the people will know that this is a King from Barotse land not to be seen as british kapokola

  57. its the lozis to blame, why did they vote for a spoiler? just becoz they have scores to settle with sata being bemba and hichilema being chosen to lead upnd will take them no where. nowadays the rain seasons are more flood related and more cholera will hit western province and even the pride of having voted for RB will just be but a mere talk. my fellow Lozis(my mbuyas at the same time inlaws) wake up and know that zambia is bigger than the flood plains. you shud not sink so low to be seen as a people who have helped install a minority president or else we will think your thinking levels have equally sunk so low that you can no longer be the pride we have had education wise

  58. The snakes and the hypocrites will not prevail over the thinking of the lozis …. we do not dress like the nyau not at all . Can you compare the snake ( sata) to the Litunga I shudder to contemplate the response from us the lozis….

  59. I wonder what Banda said, this is what The Post has in there editorial comment.
    ”‘Not normal, no morals’
Reason and judgement are very vital qualities for a leader. It is unreasonable, it is poor judgement for Rupiah Banda to unjustifiably, and in a defamatory manner, attack fellow citizens. There is need for Rupiah to realise that he is not an emperor, a king or a chief of this country”

I hear Bnda said some stuff about Sata not being normal or fit to rule Zambia,i personally don’t see any difference between Sata,Banda or even the Southern Province Minister, that old man,the name is gone, they have nothing new to offer Zambians apart from cheap rhetoric.

  60. bo wise man, be realistic, which empire in africa has their own dress code? go to west africa and u will see how kings dress. its not about micheal sata or bembas or those who hail from other provinces save alone western province, its about what the royal regalia is about. what messege does the british uniform send to people? that we are proud as lozis to dress our king with clothes designed for kings in europe? that attire expensive and immaculate as it may be will never reflect the true Luyana essemble. lets just agree that zambia needs a dress code. if you go to malawi, you will surely see that these are malawians, tanzania, south africa, congo but come home, everything goes even buju uniforms

  61. There are certain things that can not be changed, chiluba in his limited wisdom and advised by sata failed to change the name of UNZA to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula, the Litunga (King) can not be compared to any dynasty

  62. The problem with most of us African folks is that we don’t want to admit failure. We should realize that there’s room for improvement. Once you think you da sh#t that’s just what you become, SH#T!. Bwana RB and your MMD, it’s now underwater sight. All he is now is a CLOWN. It’s politics everywhere he goes. Spare us the rot

  63. #75, wise man, i see your point though misapplied. For sure we cannot change the name of the Litunga or anything about the BRE that has been enshrined in our culture and passed down from generation to generation but the royal regalia or may be i use the term the dress that the Litunga puts on must reflect who the Lozis are but it reflects a colony of Britain. Unless you say the Litunga is appointed by the Queen from Britain. We can have traditional clothes designed by zambians to suit the zambian scenario not utumpompo utwakwata snow ati ba litunga balefwala. check yourself wiseman

  64. Let us not share the wealth, break bread and conduct a nightzat the round table situation. Zambia is totally different from America. You can’t make a comparison between USA and Zambia, that is totally unfair to the poor Zambians. So the question of Obama and RB is out. RB has got his own problems. He’s a non performer. I know this man and I know what I am talking about. Give him more time even 20, 60 or 100 years. Sleepy old man

  65. who says a vision and a clear manifesto can not be done and communicated in 5months??? we have not been asking for paradise mr president, we are asking for a devptal road map, your goals your vision and your proactive way of taking care of zambia, your fire fighting & petty kind of leadership is worrying…on which budget then did the mfuwe trip planned? learn to think before yapping. excuses excuses excuses…your campaign promises did mentioned a grace period. give us your vision and goals and we will measure yo achievements by ourselves. Happy Easter Mr President.

  66. Gosh, Che Guavara… mutanga… mbuya…, calm down!! My Litunga will continue to wear that beautiful uniform as PART of his attire, British or not, because its part of our rich Lozi heritage. For your info, he also has a SIZIBA that he wears whilst in Lealui which is equally beautiful. What attire has your chief Mukuni got?? And yes we are so glad we voted for RB not ‘kabemba mu cha habeli’ Sata, or ‘mu tangana’ HH. And by the way, we proud to have turned a naturally disaster (FLOODS) into an internationally renouned annual celebration, the KUOMBOKA!! ((-:

  67. Che Guavara,
let the Lozi chief wear his security guard uniform, it is reminder for Zambians to remember how our beautiful country was sold in exchange for a uniform and by whom. The Lozi think that we can celebrate with them at been sell outs, that uniform is a good reminder why certain people can not be trusted with anything. We know the Litunga is a subject of the Queen of England. That is what they have choosen to be so why change it. Let it be a constant reminder to future generations of the sell outs we have had in the past and those who try to hung on to such useless and outdated ideas. Long Live Zambia!!

  68. It takes a few minutes to make a decission that can ruin a nation!! 5 Months is more than enough if you lack direction. Just read the heading and have no interest reading the rest.

  69. 85, welcome to the club of miserable ‘ba tanga’. Lozis will always be in a class of their own, like or not, comment or not, reply or not….

  70. You have not rules for 5 months, you’ve only been president for 5 months. There is a big difference their.

  71. .

You have not ruled for 5 months, you’ve only been president for 5 months. There is a big difference their.

  72. What more time do you need to give us hope? In the 5 months he has ruled we have only seen embarrassing episodes, corruption, stealing and a tourist president. 5 five months is more than enough to inspire the people of zambians.

  73. Attacking each other on the basis of where we come from is childish… we are one..lets talk about things like Yes We Can…..noti ati …ine ndi mulozi, or ndi mu bemba waku luwingu , ndi mutonga nangu ifwe tuli ba chewa…bla bla..ifwe kumwesu……imwe kumwenu……as long as u zambian konse nikumwenu …..Ale bane!….

  74. Money Banda is the worst President that Zambia has ever had. He is always looking for whom to blame for lack of his performance. Pipo voted for you now its your turn to show them that their votes did not go in vain. We do not need a President who speaks like a second grade student. The post is reporting that Money band has been attaching Sata honestly we thougt the campaign period is over coz now its time to see yr work Nyama Soya.

  75. Congratulation Mr Presido for all your achievement within the first 5 month… No wonder you look tired all the time. Really for CARETAKER Presido…you have impressed me!! Serioulsy what does one expect from a caretaker presido.. He has no VISION, NO Plan. Not even even a short term plan… well I suppose he has inherited the 2030 vision!! On seriuos note MMD is capable of fielding a more performing Presido come 2011 than RB.
