Singuluma No-Show for Zambia Training Camp

Share

Ace striker Given Singuluma failed to turn up for first day of training on Monday as Zambia gathered in Lusaka for their 2010 World/African Cup Group C training camp.

The record-setting CHAN top scorer was not amongst the Zanaco players called up by Herve Renard for camp who reported at the team hotel by Monday afternoon.

Singuluma has not played for Zanaco for the last fortnight since returning from trials in Israel as allegations swirled that he had signed for two clubs; Haka of Finland and TP Mazembe of DR Congo.

Team manager Solly Pandor said Singuluma was expected to report for training on Tuesday after dealing with a “family problem” in Kafue.

However, clubs sources have said they do not know the whereabouts of Siunguluma who finished as top scorer on five goals at the inaugural CHAN tournament held in Cote d’Ivoire last March.

Meanwhile, Zambia is due to play their first training game on Wednesday against Green Buffaloes.

The 25-man team is expected to break camp on Thursday and the seven home-based players originally called-up for training camp will regroup on Sunday.

The seven; Dennis Banda, Dave Kaumbwa, Francis Kasonde, Nyambe Mulenga, Jonas Sakuwaha, Hichani Himoonde including Singuluma are expected to leave for Johannesburg on the same date.

They will be joined in Johannesburg for a private training camp by the other 18 foreign-based call-ups for the Group C games against Rwanda and Algeria on June 6 and 20 respectively at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

  1. He should clean up his act and settle for something lucrative, a career in football is risky and short term

  2. i jus dont get. zed stars wana think they have made it even before they have. what is being a top scorer at Chan for him to get big heahed. it shouldnt work like that. lok at mbesuma now where is he back in SA and can even make the 1st team. how goes this boy go sign three contracts…fifa will jus axe him that will be the end of him. 3. Given needs guidiance or else he will end no where like other sporting stars. He should not live inthe past CHAN is over.

  4. SINGULUMA IS ALREADY BECOMING BIG-HEADED, THE 5 GOALS HAVE GONE INTO HIS HEAD. HE THINKS HE IS A STAR ALREADY. HE FEELS GREAT AND POWERFUL. HE IS ALREADY CONFUSED WITH THE INITIAL MINIMAL ACHIEVEMENT. SUCH TACTICS WILL END HIM IN DOLDRUMS, IN CONFUSION AND BACK TO SQUARE ONE. How can one player SIGN three contracts within a month>???? Shame? Someone to guide this POTENTIAL PLAYER. What will happen when he gets a winning allowance in any of these clubs?? Come to Zambia and BUY the whole SHAKE-SHAKE TARVEN like some Roan fellow used to do.
    WAKE-UP SINGULUMA!

  5. CHAN ALLOWANCES ARE MAKING FLY TO ISREAL, CONGO AND FINLAND. VINABBWELA MOCHEDWA……..EXCITED! Dollars when converted to Nose Diving Kwacha can make one UNWISE.

  6. ASK HIM WHAT HAPPENED TO MBESUMA.LACK OF DISCIPLINE FORCED HIM OUT OF ENGLAND.ABABENE NGABAYA KO FINLAND,ALL HE WILL DO IS EAT BURGERS AND GET FAT,THATS ALL THEY DO.MAYBE HIS ROLE MODEL IS MBESUMA,WHO KNOWS

  7. This is just the begining. Then ZANACO, TP and the Finish Club will all claim our wonder boy and the circus will go on. Where are ZANACO officials and of course “our father”, FAZ not to mention “our grandpa” NSCZ, the “great-grandpa” Ministry of sport? I hope they are not waiting to start appointing commissions and tribunals….

  8. kuyamba vintu unayamba bwino, bt poor finishing will finish u.U ar crossing da river b4 getting there.BEWARE OF FIRM.

  9. he better stay in zed cos if he leavs 4 tp mazembe m sure that will be the last of him playing for he copper bullets

  10. Had Kalu advised him, he was not going to sign 3 contracts, this would have been the position of Mayuka has it not been for proper guidance from people conversant with soccer regulations. I feel NSCZ should appoint another commission to probe the wrong doings by the very person committing himself to three clubs.

  11. Here it comes now; (fromThe Post)the Finnish Haka FC is waiting for Singuluma and even have his International Transfer Certificate.TP Mazembe boss Moses Katumbi says Singuluma signed a two contract and was paid.
