The government of Netherlands says it is deeply concerned with the rate of new HIV infections in Zambia.
Netherlands Ambassador to Zambia Harry Molenaar says the number of new HIV infections, exceeds the number of AIDS deaths.
Mr. Molenaar is of the view that in the absence of a cure for HIV, prevention should play a pivotal role in helping to get the AIDS epidemic under control.
He said there is need to increase HIV prevention efforts especially among girls and women.
Mr. Molenaar said this is because any response to treatment and care will not succeed unless the number of new infections is reduced significantly.
He was speaking at a three day HIV/AIDS workshop in Lusaka, Wednesday.
Mr. Molenaar explained that his government’s support will be targetted on HIV prevention.
The Netherlands government has in the last seven years been supporting various HIV/AIDS programmes in Zambia.

The problem is that there is to much promoscute in Zambia emanating even from senior citizens who are supposed to guide and help young ones. Besides, the encouragement of condoms is such another factor.
yes but we have been through this before! some of these ambasadors are just good at giving figures and stating current conditions.. what about giving some solutions for a change? If Hiv infection is high well my friends should now learn that the issue of HIV in Zambia is also due to the attitudes of the young.. and by young i dont mean 20 and above..the same tuma grade 4,5,6.. lets aim to educate these young ones onHIV and AIDS from a tender age.. the UK has started giving sex education to very young kids..this raised issues here and i knownin Zambia it will be worse all cause of all those taboos etc whch do nothing bit kill us in the end. Lets see ruphiah banda or our incoming president HH, setup a weekly program to visit schools and talk about HIV and aids,

all these projects they setup and fund in terms of NGOs etc.. they usually bring and employ top management from people of the origins of where the sameNGo originates. Most of these foriegn development workers lack much practical knowledge of how the african social scene operates..all they have is an idea from what they are taught in their univeristies that they should always keep an eye on the money box as africans are corrupt. There is need for such organisations and projects to be spear headed my the same zambian people who have a vast knowledge and experience of the effects of HIV and AIds. How many people believe that the western goverments created aids? If you don’t ask yourself where was AIDS in the 70’s and before. How did it just pop up and nobody knows how. What a great way to kill off many people in third world countries and around the world. Also why are there no cures for anything makes you wonder?
I agree, AIDS is just a conspiracy created by somebody so that money continues to generate to the medical world! Its actually just that our bodies are not longer immuned to different strains of viruses not becos they’re stronger but becos we’ve been eating too much food that had been injected with too much antibiotics, e.g. live stocks. The antibiotics are to keep the animals healthier. But unfortunately it too ended up in our bodies and unknowingly we’re taking antibiotics too! So our body rely too much on antibiotics and are weak against viruses, which might not be deadly. So as long as a new strain of virus attacks, we’re defenseless, we’re weak. But nobody is admitting livestock cultivation is the problem cos those are the big boys! They feed the governments too! The medical boys…
The medical boys see this as a chance to make big bucks by saying these are “uncurable diseases”, or AIDS. Many sources of medical breakthrough for fighting against AIDS are quietly ignored, or are deemed improper for human use. Many new anti AIDS med discoveries were accused of having too much toxins and were instead trashed! So that’s how the medical big boys get infinite funding for their research for “fighting against AIDS”, and the governments had to play along to hide the truth. Which infact lots of human deaths could be reduced by stopping antibiotics injection to live stocks, this in turn let our bodies resist against diseases and viruses naturally and build up our own immune system. Then AIDS or other new strains of virus won’t get to us so easily! BUT the blame were put on…

HIV-1 and HIV-2 did not just “pop up” in the 1980s, they have been traced back to primates (HIV-1 to chimpanzees and gorillas; HIV-2 to sooty mangabeys) and just recently an edogenous lentivirus was found in rabbits which pushes the proof of the existence of lentiviruses back over 7 million years.

e.g – Poverty breeds prostitution
High alcohol consumption impairs s people’s judgment when it comes to safe sex
Too many sexual abuse cases
Most Zambian men (married/single) have multiple sex partners.
