Teenage girl murdered by suspected ritual killers

Share

A teenage girl, believed to be mentally disturbed, has been found dead with her left arm missing in Nsadzu ward of Chadiza District.

The deceased only identified as, Inoni, also had her right hand broken while the right thigh was found ripped by a sharp object.
The development has sparked fears that the recent suspected ritual killings reported in Chipata could spread to Chadiza.

Nsadzu Ward Councillor Dina Phiri, who confirmed the incident to ZANIS in an interview, said Inoni was an inmate at Nsadzu Mental Hospital and was known to wander about in the area unaccompanied.

She said Inoni, whose guardians could not be traced, also had an advanced pregnancy.

According to some Nsadzu residents Inoni went missing for three days before the body was spotted floating on Nsadzu stream by passersby last Thursday some 15 kilometers from Chadiza administrative centre.

Police from Chadiza Police station retrieved the body from the stream and it has since been buried.

When contacted for a comment, Eastern Division Commanding Officer, Mary Chikwanda, said she has not yet received the report on the matter.

  2. well well.. i am tired of talking about the need of legal-social education in rural areas by the translation and dissemination of legal literature in rural areas. its simply people dont know what their liabilites and rights are. It takes a long time to change people’s perceptions in these areas but rome was not built in a day

  3. The mentally and physically challenged persons continue to receive shoddy education and health care services, and they’re at constant risk of sexual abuse.

  4. Mavuto how do you take advantage of such a person. Am sorry guys but I believe its a man who is sick in the head himself to have done such things to this poor girl.

  12. The big question still hangs about.. They talk of high unemployment rate. Why not employ some pipo as assistants to mental health persons and elderly. Many people within Chadza and other parts of the country maybe willing to take up the jobs.

  13. That the “mental” teenage girl “had an advanced pregnancy”, iz even more disturbing. Society really needz divine intervention, so many poeple want to get rich by any meanz. Poor soul, how sad.

  14. atishani welai…its too early to predict boi as u know its the long weekend wil see what happens…good day

  15. Cabija It is sad to learn this information. May her soul rest im peace. As for the perpetrators, let them be hunted and face the law.

However, I hope they will repent before it is too late.

Deut 1:17 Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; [but] ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment [is] God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring [it] unto me, and I will hear it.

  16. whats getting in to zambians kanshi??,i just heard a very sad story of some 3 girls who went to nigeria to do voodoo to for wealth. and bought ama benzi 2 weeks after their return to zed. unfortunately or is it fortunately one of the girls got mad , the other got scared and reported and the third who took the other to to nigeria had her brother run mad too. i heard it was even on moving tv news. please can someone comfirm this. people just work hard and earn the wealth genuinely please.

  17. Voodoo, withcraft, theft, drug trafficking and wealth do not go hand in hand. Honest hard work does, and pays dividends. Any easy option to gain riches these days seem to be the only route out of poverty. Get with the programme Zambians! When will we ever learn?

  18. Ritual killings are becoming very common in Eastern Zambia. Why kill another Man?.No Man Kill Another Man,pls!
