Zambia Rugby Team Gets US$5000 Boost

Atlas Copco has pumped in US$ 5,000.00 into the Zambia rugby union national teams participation in next weeks 6-nation Confederations of African Rugby (CAR) southern region tournament in Botswana.

Zambia Rugby Football Union fundraising committee member Tim Walker said Atlas Copco will be the teams official sponsor for the CAR tournament to be held in Gaborone from July 18-24.

He said Atlas Copco will also dress the team for the tournament after providing both the jerseys and training kit for the squad.

The 24-member team, that leaves for Botswana by road on Saturday, was unveiled today and will be under the helm of Happy Chipili.

And Zambia will play three matches in Botswana where they kick-off against hosts Botswana on Monday before playing Madagascar on Wednesday and wrap-up their CAR outing against Mauritius on Saturday.

Zimbabwe, Reunion and Swaziland will battle in the other games.

  2. Atase #1 Nine Chale! Basketball’s better than whatever sport you like, you wanna bet?! I agree about rugby and cricket (especially cricket) though, still, I can watch the All Blacks play any day.. high testosterone, patriach and machoism rolled into one! Its like Schwarzenegger on a double dose of steroids! Plus it makes you want to kick a cute puppy!
