Time Posted: July 29, 2009 2:13 pm

East London beckons for the Zambia national team who will face Ghana there in an international friendly there at Brisbane Road on August 12.

Faz communications officer Erick Mwanza confirmed today that the two sides will play the match at the home of English League One side Leyton Orient.

Mwanza said camping details will be released before Friday for the London friendly date against the Black Stars.

Zambia will be using the match to prepare for their 2010 World/African Cup Group C qualifier against Algeria to be played on September 6 in Algiers.

That’s going to be a very real test for Zambia since both teamz are preparing for the World Cup qualification and away from home.

Ghana was supposed to be used to prepare for Rwanda. For the Arabs, we needed a team from the Middel East or North Africa (MENA). Otherwise whatever comes is always better than nothing. Now you should use Andrew Sinkala.

Great news, at last worthy competition…..but still we need to fix the frontline. I can’t remember the last time Jacob Mulenga scored for Zed……James Chamanga can even miss a sitter at alpha…..Mbesuma is a total disaster and Christopher’s true age has now started to show. And now we are even crying for old finished players like Sinkala, we might as well bring back the Kampamba’s, Sichones, Emmanuel Zulus whilst we are at it …..iplus our current best player (Kalaba) is suspended, any good luck Zambia!

Its a good idea for zambia national team to play with Ghana, although their system of play is different with the arabs, but it is a better improvement than playing with small clubs in south africa.

We have now agreed to play Zambia in London,” Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

“Only some few days ago we had Morocco in the picture but they had to withdraw because they were afraid they will lose.

“Teams are afraid to play the Black Stars because of the fear of losing their positions on the Fifa ranking.”
    – BBC So Morocco was afraid of losing?

I will definitely watch this match because it’s been a long time since i watched zambia national team live. The last time i watched zambia playing live, some angry fans were having a go at misfiring Denis Lota. They booed him everytime he touched the ball and they were shouting at him ati “iwe Denis waba akasafu nge fumo lya mpanya!” So i hope they will be no such characters like Gate “D” supporters in East London.

Great game will it be but don’t think of beating Ghana with our misfiring frontline. can the Musonda boys be given chance in the under 20 that will be going to UEA so we can see how they play. just imagine if they were Kalu’s kids?
