Poor People’s party call for one opposition pact

Share

The United Poor People of Zambia Freedom Party (UPFP) has called on all opposition political parties in Zambia to merge and form one pact.

Party president Alex Muliokela told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that the merger will ensure that the opposition has one voice in advocating for the plight of the people.

Mr Muliokela added that all interested registered opposition political parties should come together and one presidential candidate for the 2011 general elections.

He said the move will make it easy for the pact to contest and win all parliamentary constituencies in 2011.

Mr Muliokela explained that it was important for an effective political alliance which will incorporate all registered opposition political parties.

He further explained that all political parties that might merge would have their symbols incorporated to make one symbol for the pact.

He said this will facilitate a proper programme and in turn provide a chance to the political parties to speak with one voice.

Mr Muliokela suggested that the pact could be called the Zambians’ Freedom Alliance (ZAFA).

  1. just mention it mr joker.u want a job..true optunist.wen we merge dont expect a postion just bcoz u brought your vote, your wife en one simpathetic relative of yours..

  2. UPFP I am amazed by the name of this party. In my humble opinion ” United Poor People ….” Poor is a negative word to be united on. As a Christian nation people are rich in Jesus Christ. Word’s are powerful ….therefore, should always be inspirational give hope for the future .

  3. My advice to you Mr Alex Muliokela is to dissolve your pocket, one-man party and join any other opposition political party.
This will help in reducing the number of opposition political parties, that is if we consider your party as an opposition party.

  4. poor people party…crazy chap, you are already poor and what would you for the people..pliz just get back to the churchyou lost sheep..you don’t speak for anyone here..politics is dynamic..fend for your own..

  5. Mulyokela is an entertainer…in 2006 he failed to file for presidential nomination due to the fact that he had no money to pay for nomination. Hahahahahah….poor people parties , yes merge!!!!!!

  6. Poverty is a curse Zambians donnot accept it ;; it is a spirit Zambia is not poor it is very rich as a nation but; the poor leadership has let us down dont vote for those who have poor minds they are very dangerous. keep them out of the game we need those who are achievers not jockers like the present govt

  7. #9 which part of your body is in the pic! Forget the party composed of one man, one woman, two children, a chicken and a cat. Why unity! even the Gen Miyanda is not part of the equation. What did Miyanda achieve in all his years as VP, Minister! Even Sata we just need his massive votes not the leader himself. The solution is HH. if I had a way I can lock up all politicians above 60 years. These chaps will only serve their numerous relatives!

  8. Did you run out of names or what? For whatever reason, how do you embarass yourself like that? We can never vote for negative minded peple, though they may have good ideas. Go and farm, there’s a lot of virgin fertile land in zambia.
