  1. Oh, no VISA to Brazil, better start saving for the world Cup 2014 and the Olympics in 2016. Thanks ala bee, just make sure you fund the national team properly so that come 2014, the KK 11 shall be there. If Ghana did, what can’t we ……..

  2. Uli chaume RB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please continue working hard for betterment of those who believe and are proud of Mother Zambia.
We know what investment Brasil is able to inject as can be seen in other countries like Mozambique. Lets reduce on ploiticking and support developmental programmes

  3. hooray RB. this is great news for zambian business people. we can now go easily and do business in Brazil. wonderful wonderful

  4. Chi ALA BEE chikali ai?? This is what the head of state should be doing for the citizens. Not arguing about apologies day in day out. Great Kudos to you. Brazil is an economy on fire and nice that you have made it easier for us to go there and check the market and get in on the act. Thanks for opening doors for us. Give a Kiss to Thandiwe for me. Good man, good man indeed. Sure madala, I have also tested live World cup match in SA and am addicted already. Me too Brazil 2014, here I come.

  5. What agreements? Did Lula get a piece of land as well? Since RB is in the habit of giving land to foreign leaders.

  6. We expected nothing less of the great Brazilian President Lula Da Silva. He’s a great leader. Pro-poor and has a heart for the people.

    These agreements are excellent.

Good job RB! (We give praise where its due)

  7. Ok. This is good stuff. I must say am surprised RB managed to get something sensible from Lula who’s visiting several other African countries. im impressed. The VISA thing is good. You see RB more can be done at home that on the plane. #8 Positivist pa Zed.. VALE Resources is one the world ‘s largest mining groups and one of brazils premier companies. VALE acquired mineral rights during Levy’s tenure and have been planning greenfield projects in Zambia. of course land has been concessioned to them. I can’t quite rememebr but there’s another firm in Agro business- bio fuel production from growing cane or Jantropha that was setting up again from Levy’s work..

  8. Would they care to elaborate these agreements and not just give numbers?

To the ‘commenter’ who wanted to know if I live online- well I am constantly updating, uploading and publishing websites to the net so yeah I pretty much live online, thats what I do! dude has issues.

  9. Wonderful! RB at work! People of Zambia, this is a great example of what a visionary and respected leader we have in H.E. Rupiah Banda. Viva RB! RB for 2011!!!!

  10. # 8 Zuma & Muswati including Lula da Silva.
Hope these agreements materialise. In Business they are refered to unilateral. No single country is bound to honor them

  11. Why is it that even us the MMD are surprised at this good work of RB? Is there something which we are implying? Can someone help with explanation please!

  12. For once, there is something praiseworthy from RB. Thank you Sir! We’ll thank you even more when those agreements begin to bear beneficial fruit.

  13. This is great news. World Cup 2014, better start making preparations. Let’s also not forget business opportunities in Brazil. Brazil is part of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China). These are markets who’s economies are on fire at the moment. We already have good relations with India and China, it is great that we enhance good ties with Brazil and Russia.

    This is really great news.

  14. No visa requirement should be good news for the growing number of drug smugglers. Apparently cocaine is very cheap in Brazil because it is near Peru and Colombia.
Anyway this is good news. I just hope certain politicians who probably dont know where Brazil is on the map, dont start their usual rantings about ‘infestors’, blah, blah, blah.:-ss

  15. Good work Bwezani, atleast ubweza vamushe mu country. no VISA for 90 days MAMAMAMA, kuti wayalasako ama gelo bapa Brazil, kuba doda saana with long hair.

  16. #19- some of those gelos are men so if you find a gelo very clingy make sure to do thorough inspections before your friends hear of it! And HIV is rampant uko.

  17. #8 – Positivist ba Zed – King Mswati of Swaziland was given prime land in Solwezi by RB. Where have you been?

  18. This is a good development but the timing remains questionable. Is this one of those strategic political moves to help gain popularity? I am not a big fun of RB et al….but I will say congratulations and give credit where it is actually due.

  19. We will tear all these corrupt MOUs within 90 days after we win the next election. Lula has not left for South Africa, he is in Kasempa having a secret meeting with RB regarding the oil in nyamazai land which we think should only be drilled by Zambian companies owned and headed by Bembas.

  20. can someone clarify on the visa issue.i read from the post and i quote “visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports”end quote, does that mean any zambian with an ordinary passport can go to brazil without needing a visa….if so,gud deal..will be going for the carnival next year…

  21. But a word of caution: Please dont cross over into neighbouring Columbia a you will be search on return and you will languish in…..
You friend in Malaysia had been sentenced to death and will be executed next week!

  22. 8 agreements will never change anything! How many MOUs has MMD signed the past 20 years and yet Zambia still going backwards! This will benefit Brazil not Zambia period! Dont be too excited and on the visa issue its for diplomats only!

  23. REMEMBER THIS!
Sata’s head has been burried in the sand! Look at all PACT supporters on this blog are now rooting for RB! I like this because kaponyas are easily influenced! Yesterday everybody was saying bad staff about RB and today all is good! These are politics of poverty and opportunists! Even if the VISA MOU was to be extended to every Zambian, very few of you will afford to fly to Brazil! This MOU will benefit Brazil and not you regular chibuku drinkers! Wake up and make up yo mind whether you MMD for real or PACT!

  24. Lula Da Silva: “During the 20th Century we were under the expectation that the rich countries will solve our problems and now this crisis applies to us to discover our own solutions, that we have to solve our own problems.”

  25. Ifima Zambians..Brazil has opened your eyes!!wakeup!they make Petrol from sugar canes!!!learn something ma *****s!!! brazil will open markets into South America and vice versa…hope we Zambians jump on the boat..about time………

  26. this will go a long way in increasing the number of zambian women nubbed for smuggling narcitic substances across the borderds of our two sister nations

  27. Ha there will be plent of Brazilian hair in the Market now and am sure the price will reduce….may be that will be one of the benefits.

  28. Fellow countrymen, I wish to throw a spanner in this discussion, how many of these agreements have been signing and what really to these papers with ink help our poor people in Zambia. I mean can we find partners who will buy our produce be it farm or industry first, unlike being added to the dumping grounds these fast developing countries are creating. Brazil is a fast growing developing country, and very aggressive, all we are doing is depriving our farmers of a market here. Brazil will export all their chickens and vegetables to us very soon, hence making our farmers esp. small farmers more desperate to sell their produce, etc. What do you think? I am just thinking aloud here …

  29. #24,
What a mindless comment!! You will do us all a great favour if you can keep certain contents of your tribal and hate-filled mind to yourself, whoever you are. Who told you Bembas desire to dominate or monopolize Zambia?

  30. just the Brazilians signing some agreements and people are shouting about “RB success”? I really despair for my country sometimes, Lula also can fly around the world just like RB. The Brazilians have obviously identified something that will be profitable to them in Zambia. Can we say the same about Brazil?

  31. #17 it is actually Sata who was suggesting strengthened ties with Brazil for some years now so shut your uneducated uninformed mouth

  32. The issue about exchange programmes and cooperation in education is great.

On “The two countries also signed the Visa exemption which will allow nationals from both Zambia and Brazil exempted from Visa requirements to enter and leave the territory of the two nations for a period not exceeding 90 days,” this will be useful to all Citizens of Brazil and Zambia so that cultural barriers are taken away and we know each other to the extent of understanding one another.

As for Sport, it would have been nice to make sure that we receive help also in terms of infrastructure development.

Have a blessed day all and nice one from Brazillian President Lula although I doubt whether his Bio-fuel thing will work for Zambia.

  33. This is what poverty can do to people. Few signed documents and everyone has already forgotten how the MMD government keep making the life of Zambians even poor. If we forget easily we will keep making mistakes and vote back these thieve and thief protectors into power. Despite all this talk, the Kwacha stands at k5000, Salary taxes stand at 35%, roads are in bad shape, the floods are still not addressed until it rains again, measles vaccines have run out, a very high cost of leaving, civil servant salaries are late, high corruption. Is anyone addressing these issues?
Zambians for how long are we going to be blinded?

  34. # 24 you are sick. Why are you impersonating the Bemba. What do have against them that you should lie and pretend they have such evil thoughts about other people when its you who feels like that. You are trying to destroy their relationships with people from other provinces by posting such rubbish. Whoever you are, that crap won’t achieve anything. Everyone is talking about love, harmony, tolerance of one another etc, we are all Zambians. Why should you write such evil about your fellow ZAmbians. God knows you so don’t think you are too smart. The evil you are creating will catch up with you

  35. Check the latest on the post!! …post-read_article.php?articleId=11336. There is an impostor at statehouse! The impostor first apologized to HH and now is saying degree not needed to lead a country!!!

  36. :) Why do they always give land away. What type of foolishness is this? We fought for independence to lose our land because someone that was in Zimbabwe wants to be apeased.

  37. 2014 world cup aside! this relationship with Brazil is cokie! look at the history of this guy lula! associates and sides with Ahmadinejad’s Iran, human rightless China and greedy Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela. Against the EU and the USA, upholders of the values which embraces human diginity and respects the rule of law.(values which we Zambians cherish)
What was the visit about anyway????

  38. Ati umulembwe wafipuba wapwilile muli tumfwe! You have just given Brazil free passage for a 90 day visa ! And you are screaming hurray! Rubbish!!!
