PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Chimwemwe member of Parliament Willie Nsanda has maintained that he does not have a child with a Mufulira-based woman who has sued him for child maintenance.
This is in a case in which Ingrid Strattman has sued Nsanda for maintenance of a child she claims was fathered by the MP ten years ago.
Nsanda said when the matter came up for continued hearing in Lusaka yesterday that he is not the father of Ms Strattman’s child because he was in South Africa when his former wife fell pregnant.
“I was out in South Africa for four solid months attending to my business and Ms Strattman was not pregnant by then. When I left for South Africa she had monthly periods, which is an indication that she was not pregnant,” Mr Nsanda said.
He said when he returned from South Africa, he called for a family meeting to determine the biological father of the child.
He told presiding magistrate Elijah Sandu, sitting with senior local court magistrate Hope Mwila, that a family meeting was marred with confusion arising from the behaviour of Ms Strattman’s relatives.
Nsanda said because of the confusion, the meeting was not concluded.
He said Ms Strattman could not have waited for over ten years to sue for child maintenance if the child was his.
Nsanda said he only has one child with Ms Strattman and not two as she has alleged.
“I only have one child named Elizabeth, with Ms Strattman and I love this child from the bottom of my heart,” he said.
Nsanda said in cross-examination that because the child in question is not his, she was named by her mother.
And Ms Strattman said in her statement that she was married to Nsanda for 10 years and has two children with him.
She said when she was living with Nsanda, he was supportive of the child in question before and after she was born.
“He did everything for our second born child, that is buying baby clothes, paying hospital bills and naming the child,” Ms Strattman said.
She said Nsanda denied having fathered the child when they divorced in July 2002.
Ms Strattman said she was surprised when Nsanda denied having sired a second child with her and that this prompted her to sue for child maintenance.
She said she has stayed with her child for nine months without Nsanda’s support but was forced to sue for child maintenance because the child is growing up.
Mr Sandu adjourned the matter to August 12, 2010, for continued hearing.

The fact that the chap had some altercation with his ex-wife’s bululus does not mean he should be as drastic as to deny a child the affections of a father. I think the conception was done under rocky conditions such that the fool thought the seed was equally stressed and therefore unable to hit the target. Shame, isn’t it?
If this guy Nsanda was sensible, he would have settled this case out of court. We are tired of reading about this un-honorable MP court cases of the same nature. As a rich foool, he could have easily arranged for a private DNA test other embarrassing himself in court. It also appears this guy has pierced so many women…it’s time to retire from this business and live a honorable life. Nsanda is a human being so teti afwilefye bu MP and accept a PARCEL which he is not sure of. Even some Proffessor who happens to be an MMD MP/Minister has reportedly refuse to accept a pregnancy. All Nsanda needs is to go for DNA . But he has to take the case to the Magistrates Court not the primitive KAZEMBE LOCAL COURTS

Guys, DNA test can only be done under a court order or if both parents consent. This is meant to protect the rights of the minor. Let us wait and see how the court process will go. If the former wife got pregnant while Willy was away in RSA, I would like to advise Willy to go for VCT. Otherwise I do not think that he is safe especially if his friends were passing JVs in the live system. When he came back, did he continue passing jvs also in the live system (without condoms) or he was passing jvs in the demo (with condoms)?:x
They could both have agreed to go for a dna test without going to court. This would have protected the child in question without all this dirty laundry washing in public.

Nsanda and Igrid were living together at one point. Ingrid was just a child at that time.
Bottom line, take a DNA test. Nsanda is a womanizer. Ingrid should go to a witchdoctor and fix Nsanda then he will never father anymore children that he doesnt take responsibility for.

Advice to the Honorable MP iz to settle this matter quietly out of court and avoid the ensuing humiliation or go for DNA. Since you earlier had another child with this lady, your conscious won’t be at eaze irrespective of the DNA rezult.

please people let us not comment like *****s. this man says that this kid is not his cos the woman conceived in his absence. if this is true then he is right. i wouldnt accept responsibility for kid conceived in my absence. and i believe non of you bloggers here would!! the best the court can do is to ask them to go for DNA test,this will settle this problem once and for all. however if in the end it is found that the kid is his then alas…..they should castrate him so he doesnt deny other kids in future. what a shame in Zambia, the courts here have no any better way of resolving this issue other than letting the people involved to go for DNA. but in Zambia the court will rely on verbal evidence.
