Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has urged Patriotic Front – UPND (PF/UPND) pact members to remain united.
Mr. Hichilema said this was the only way the Pact would continue to remain strong and focused in preparations for the 2011 general elections.
He was speaking during the Let the People Talk programme on Radio Phoenix monitored by ZANIS in Lusaka today.
Mr. Hichilema added that the pact members should not listen to individuals who are determined to see the pact divided and eventually crumble.
He said pact members should always be aware that there are some individuals that want to see the down fall of the pact in the country.
Meanwhile, the UPND leader has also advised pact members to always use the right channel when they want to talk about pact matters
Mr. Hichilema added that this was very important for the PF/UPND members when one wants to raise any issue concerning the pact as the pact would know how to address certain problems in the pact.
In another development, Mr. Hichilema said once the pact comes into power, it would ensure that there is access to education for all across the country.
He added that this was because the pact understands the importance of education as it is vital to the economic development of the nation.
Mr. Hichilema also further said that the pact wants all those children whose parents cannot afford to send their children to school are able to do so.

What is HH up to. We want bold statements on who is goingn to flaoted as presidential candidate. We have had enough of such empty statements from HH and Sata. I dont think its right to call the “POST” VUVUZELA. There are alot of things the Post are doing just like the Two owned Govt Newspapers. They are there to finform as well as make business. HH and UPND are more interested in building systems than preoccupying themslves with who will be the pact leader. HH together with Professor Cirwa and other intelligent Zambians are busy working behind the scenes and the pay no attention to vuvuzelas like the Post and some bloggers on this site. Once they agree on the way forward they will inform the nation how the pact leader will be chosen and how the pact will work. It’s not a president Sata or President Hakainde who will develop Zambia but good systems that can work regardless of who the leader is. HH doesn’t need the Post or Govt Daily papers to campaign. In fact they are using the most effective media to communicate with the masses i.e community radio stations. There is no secret that the Post Newspaper LTD is Mr. Sata’s Vuvuzela. Why are people surprised.
The other fact is it seems only Mr. Hichilema is still interested in this Pact. Mr. Sata/PF do not seem bothered at all and the PF Vuvuzela is no longer giving Mr. Hichilema headlines.
Thats the way forward HH. This morning I was talking to my uncle in Lusaka trying to convince him to vote out MMD govt. Before I could even finish he told me, “dont’t worry nephew I am a staunch PF support and like everyone else I believe that the pact will remain intact and not destroyed by MMD till 2011 “. What am saying is all Zambians have hope on the pact and don’t dissappoint them. They strongly believe in the pact.
It is suprising to note that the people who are so negative about the pact are none voters and don’t even live in Zambia. People who live in Zambia rightly believe in the pact. So, leave them to decide their own destiny.

Banda and his band of corrupt mor/ons have started to grab farms so that they can cushion their falls – desperation ya so teisuma bane, tekanyeni thats what caused kafupi chiluba to be where he is “a disgraced ex-prez”. Senior chilishilu can rant and rave, his mouthing wont get him anywhere except remain to beg in the US and later get deported like his brother Tumbwe.
I have been so disappointed with the post’s recent style of reporting. I truly believed in their reporting but i think they are taking their popularity too far by starting to manipulate the public like exposing more of sata than HH. I now believe that MMD will be retained in 2011.Watch this space for mpulungu by elections. The post is self destructive and wonder what mmembe is up to. Come on Man. Try and come to terms, there is no pact. Presidential elections are about choosing a person that will lead the nation and it’s party. Once a president is elected, cabinet members can come and go but the President still remains there in most cases. Thus he can pick the next person in line.
