Chilanga by-election shocks MMD

Time Posted: October 26, 2010 9:59 pm

The ruling Movement for Multi party Democracy (MMD) national chairperson, Michael Mabenge has described the ruling MMD’s loss in the Chilanga parliamentary by-election as shocking.

And Mr. Mabenga said there is need to investigate the cause of the party’s loss in the Chilanga by-election.

Mr. Mabenga who is also Lands Deputy Minister said that there is need to search deeply into what really brought about the party’s loss in the just ended elections.

He said there is a lot of work that was invested in preparing for the MMD’s candidate, Keith Mukata and the loss is surprising.

The Deputy Minister said that everything needed, was put in place for the MMD to secure back its seat and the loss is therefore something that should be taken with a lot of seriousness.

Mr. Mabenga also indicated that it is almost unacceptable and difficult to understand how the MMD could have just lost the seat, considering all the preparations that were made ahead of the Chilanga by-elections.

He also said that the MMD’s recorded win in the just ended by-elections shows that President Banda is not a liar contrary to some of the remarks that his critics have been making.

On the contrary, it is shocking that MMD won the Mpulungu seat. Wake up Mabenga and see that this is the beginning of the end of MMD.

It is really funny how the post has not changed there top story. If PF had won in Mpulungu, PF’s victroy would be the top story and in the editorial.

well done UPND. The seat was taken away from you last time through rigging,it is good to see that people still remember you. What is shocking for MMD losing in chilanga. this is not news it just shows that MMD are going out in 2011 period. MMD has fanny ways of dealing with people look at what the removal of Mangande has cost them. RB needs to be serious in dealing with democratic issues just like he has ignored the plight of the miners in sinazongwe in favour of his chinese investors. Chinese should smell the coffee as they will be change of government come 2011.

Mabinga how can you say “its shocking” to win the Mpulungu seat? But the most shocking is that MMD could not find a president resulting in opting for R.Banda.It is shocking that RB is a president.

I am suprised that the PF vuvuzela (the post) is still not changing their headlines. They still have the headline ‘Rupiah Banda is a liar says Sata’ and a graphically potrayed ‘huge’ rally. Shame on them. They blacked out HH in chilanga and he has single-handedly clobbered the MMD. But MMD has beaten sata and the post vuvuzela combined. No wonder the they are avoiding the headline news of either ‘MMD beats PF in Mpulungu’ or ‘UPND beats MMD in Chilanga’. Post vuvuzela yiu are done!!!

My observation as well.Prior to by-elections ,they were changing top stories frequently,at time twice or thrice a day but looks like the defeat of PF has shaken the team and now trying to re-organise while taking some hard whiskey..lol

The wining of Chilanga by UPND is a sign that the Pact is doomed. Tongas now will want HH to stand and Sata will not agree to that. MMD is still the party with is National in character. They should not worry about Chilanga wwhich is a Tonga string hold.

MMD is ignoring the fact that they have never won upnd in any parliamentaly bye-elections, unless in areas where upnd never filled in a candidate e.g Serenje in Central where Musonda won. All the parliamentaly bye-elections contended with MMD, upnd has grabed that seat from MMD. MMD will never win against the mighty UPND of HH because the man is a strategist by nature, he knows where the MMD is weak and he does modern campaigns were you have to hold a rally, HH knows people who matter in every society, by the time people attent Banda’s rallies they have already made up their minds as to who they want. HH you are a man, silence burner but full of action. MMD never you underlet the young man HH, he is so strong.

MMD will never beat this young man, he showed you his power in North-western province where he grabed your two seats, Solwezi and Mufumbwe. You can compete with Sata everywhere, but HH is too strong for you. MMD still has that campaign where you have to drum up support by buying beer such as Tujilijili for people to believe in you. The young man HH does not believe in such things, he just goes to the people naturally.

HH is gaining ground, watch him you will be shocked of what he is capable of doing. This man is unique to me, he has been top richest black zambian for sometime but we never knew him not until when he came on the political scene. Sometimes I do believe those who say silence is really action. We need this man to govern us, he has the exposure internationally and home which is a plus for us, and at the same time he is young, hence can inspire us youths for greater things to come. Zambia need a leader who can sit on the net and search market for zambian products, with this modern technology, than Rupiah Banda’s global trotting. The world is now small but our leaders are still behind in terms of technology whereby for him ready new from the post the secretary has to waste stationery.

Viva HH, you shined in our province and the way things stand, if MMD is to cause another bye-election, you can again grab a seat from them because nearly everyone in the province is now behing you. They love upnd so much because they know that it is their party being a place where it was formed.

All the elections MMD has competed and they have used William Banda as chief campaigner or deputy, they have lost lamentably. People go to William Banda’s briefings, meetings or small rallies to get Chitenge material and money since this man is well oiled by RB. The fact remains William Tekere Deportee Banda is not a factor but a serious COMEDIAN fit to perform in a circus with RB the ring master.

They had probably prepared a fanatical Pro Sata/PF headline with a huge crowd in Mpulungu declaring victory for their master PF/SATA. Ahhaaahhhhahhhhhh bagunwa ba Post yewoooooowoooooo. It’s interesting how all Tonga vuvuzelas of all manners are praising HH for winning in Chilanga, an area whose periphery is full of Tongas creating the only dermographics where he can create electoral traction. Only the other month, he was clobbered in Barotseland by Milupi, a single person devoid of any party or financial support structures. Now, those Loziz are his own tribal cousins and yet he fell. Maybe its the Saki ghost still haunting the UPND. As for Sata, just swallow your sour grapes in silence, “ici mucembele chonse kula lilalila kwati kaice ka Under 5 sure, alah!”
