Veep challenges Sata, HH over gays

Share

Vice president George Kunda about to get into his official government vehicle

VICE-PRESIDENT George Kunda has challenged Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata and United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema to give Zambians their position on homosexuality and gay rights.

Mr Kunda said Mr Sata has allegedly been linked to supporting homosexuality and gay rights in Zambia and it is strange that he has not denied that he wants to promote and advance the rights of homosexuals and gay people.

Mr Kunda said in Serenje on Thursday at a public rally that Zambia is a Christian nation and alien practices such as same sex relationships will never be promoted and condoned.

“With this type of leadership, Zambia will be a rogue State. I am challenging him (Mr Sata) to deny he is supporting homosexuality and gay rights in Zambia.

“Mr Hichilema has gone into an alliance with Mr Sata. Does he believe in what Mr Sata is doing? Does he also believe in homosexuality and gay rights?” Mr Kunda asked.

Mr Kunda said President Banda has condemned homosexuality and gay rights. The Vice-President alleged that Mr Sata is unpredictable and inconsistent and cannot be entrusted with the instruments of power because he cannot handle the security of the nation.

He said Mr Sata is on record giving conflicting views on investment in general, Chinese investment and windfall taxes.

Mr Kunda said President Banda has proved that he is a stable leader, which is why when he was Vice President during President Mwanawasa’s illness and death, he ensured that Zambia experienced a peaceful transition.

He said Zambia is still enjoying peace because President Banda is a father figure and is working hard for the people of Zambia.

“Unlike other leaders, he talks more about development than anything else. Even when he is outside the country, he is looking for investors to come to Zambia,” he said.

Mr Kunda said compared to opposition leaders, President Banda does not believe in tribalism but in one Zambia, one nation.

And Mr Kunda says Mr Sata does not believe in press freedom and if elected into power, he is going to close down The Post Newspaper. Mr Kunda said even if The Post covers the opposition leader well, if he comes to power it is likely to be closed down because Mr Sata is a danger to press freedom.
Mr Kunda also appealed to the people of Serenje not to support Mr Sata because he is known to campaign on tribal lines, as the case was in Kasama.

  1. There a few zambian men i like, I really dont like the vice pesident

I cant stand him, he scares me, i am pullling my hair right now

    Thanks

  2. Ya, George Kunda, kambako vanzelu naiwe. Why are you obsessed with homosexuality? Are you a suppressed homosexual? Just come out of the closet kanshi. We can’t know what you do with your security details when Ireen is not looking.

  3. Well, that is asking too much Mr Red Lips Kunda. Sata as the leader of the PACT is heavily funded by the YAKU MBUYO club and so is the POST newspaper. They need the money to kick your government out. Infact the YAKU club has promised to match dollar for dollar on what the Chinese are giving your MMD. They are on a mission to declare Zambia a secular state and they have backing from Muslims, catholics and the EU. You are in real trouble Mr Red Lips, make sure the chinese out do the YAKU club

  4. There is nothing wrong with being gay
Gay sexuality was never a prominent issue until gay parades and sexual promiscuity came under scrutiny”

Elton gay and his partner have just had a baby, both are gays , i am proud of them.
Before we condemn them, we need to understand why they practice what they do. We also need to accept that they are our sons and daughters, our brothers and our sisters and even our spouses.

Studies indicate that homosexuality is reinforced by the sexual feelings that typically occur three years on average beforehand. Poor relationships with fathers seem to play a lead role in pre-disposing boys to the option of homosexuality. Human beings and animals are born with an instinct that is sexually oriented and to condemn those whose sexual orientation is different…

  5. some times I wonder if our cheap politicians can even manage to get one vote here in the US with their cheap speeches. Mayb they could manage 1 vote each from their spouses!

  6. Objections to gay marriage and lesbian and condemnation of homosexuality by the zambians and churches and particularly the Greek Orthodox Church raise some interesting inconsistencies. Firstly, the Church preaches peace, love and benevolence yet it does not extend them to gays. Rather it seems to use hate and condemnation. It seems somewhat strange and un-Christian to condemn people on the basis of their love for others, albeit of the same sex.We should accept Homosexuality, ie gays and lesbians. I have 2 friends and i think they are the same as any others

    Thanks

  7. #6:
The fact that you are homosexual doenst make the vice acceptable in our rich culture. Homosexual is demonic to say the least, It is unnatural, its not a right! and except in a few states, the practice is still ilegal in many lands. However, with people like u working so hard to promote it in the name of human rights, and with the ever deteriorating morals, I see a near future world where homosexuality will be a human right. I nevertheless take comfort in knowing that the right will be short lived becoz the ‘most high’ will step in with his destruction of the wicked!

  8. Kunda is telling pokies,RB did not condemn homosexuality,he simply said the issue was too complex for him to make a firm stance. This is what he said; Quote

Speaking during a meeting with “Champions of an HIV free generation in African” leaders at State House today, President Banda said it was difficult for him to decide on whether or not to permit homosexuality in the Zambian society because of the complexity of the issue.

He did not condemn the act as GK is claiming

  9. Am not gay but i dont have anything against gay peaple. Infact gay peaple are some of the most talented peaple out there. Kunda is only saying this thinking the majority of peaple oou there hate gays and will therefore hate bene sata but i truly believe peaple are more concerned about more presing issues such as the need for jobs, better health care, etc.

  10. no 7
Celibacy in the higher echelons of the church and in monasteries has the unintended consequence of appealing to males who are either not attracted to females or in some cases predominantly attracted to males. In such circumstances homosexuality is practiced and although kept secret is even tolerated.

  11. @4 i think man you are mad you need some medicin for your madness….For me iam very much against with Gay people, lesbians…I know you are not a zambian …zambia is a christian nation no way of promoting gay right or lesbian….. if you are in this postion then iam sorry my friend no gay rights for you ..shitt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Homosexuality is not a disease. It is not a disorder. It is not a sin. It is not a crime. It is not a free choice. It is natural. It is normal. It needs no change. Why can we just open our heart to embrace this truth? If only you could feel what they really feel inside. If only you could experience what they experience. If only you could have the genes

Does homosexuality bring great harm to society? The answer is clearly no. Is accepting homosexuality equal to promoting homosexuality? No again. Homosexuality is not a commercial product like a car, cigarette, or beer. It is not a political agenda. It is not marketing model such as a pyramid theme. It is simply a natural phenomenon, an equally qualified sexual orientation as heterosexuality that needs not promotion.

    Thanks

  13. tc, as i tell my fiancee, zambia was declared a christian nation by chiluba, a disgraced president who clearly is not a saint anymore

  14. #10 mwata
why dont you put your arguments as to why you dont support the gays instead of trying to shut people with a different viewpoint by insulting them.I for one im against gay practises but i have to explain my stance than just insulting those with a different view from mine

  15. Thanks smooth criminal no 16

I am the only girl with 3 younger brothers and one f my brothers, doesnt like females much.
Homosexuality is not an overnight phenomenon, nor is it an invention of the 1980s when the first case of AIDS occurred. Zambians think Homosexuality has been long existent since the rise of humanity. Ancient Greeks are believed to practice pederasty in which an older man and an adolescent boy are engaged in an intimate relationship. Alexander the Great are known to be interested in young men in addition of women according to many historic records. Moreover, “Many domestic and wild animals engage in sexual activity with members of both the same and the opposite sex.
I urge zambians to accept Homosexuality

    Thanks

  16. Mushota@17, I salute u for your stance on this topic, i would barely give a thumb to those basing their condemination of HOMO’s on religion. However, i must say as someone has put it, gaysim has sprouted morons. Albeit, its mostly famous amoungest prisoners who have been incacerated for their lives & donot dream of one day nailing a girl. It is an un natural orientation to say the list. Mushota, whether you have been shagged before by a same sex, does not mean its morally right. This was brougt about because certain people are too shy to ask for sex from the opposite, or have a perveted background, or are merely seeking stardom in its rareness. I must mention that, it is morally wrong and whoever suppoting it must be a pervet. We, however, vote for PACT & will still stick to our natural…

  17. Not important matter for development GK. Talk about real stuff. HH and Sata will wipe you this year. You ant good enough for VP of Zambia. Been following your campaign trail to shoddy to say the least.

  18. Mushota, take your madness to Scotland. if your boyfriend is writing this on your behalf then am sorry. You are a big disgrace little girl, your morals are just………….

  19. Everyone knows what the official Zambian position is on the abomination called Homesexuality. Therefore, anyone who will aspire to the Office of President of Zambia knows what line to follow. Period!

Kunda is being petty again by raising a matter that has been deliberated upon in Zambia on various e-media serving our nation, so that a sane and stable person would not use this to get at those contending for Office.

It is Kunda’s misinformed strategy do engage the emotions of Zambians rather than their reasons; by so doing, Kunda is clearly and actively seeking to divert the attention of Zambians from the issues of Governance and development that have worked against the MMD led Government.

He wants people to forget the failures of the MMD over the past 20 years.

    Ignore Kunda!

  20. I think it has become very apparent to all normal minded Zambians that there is clearly something wrong in George Kunda’s head. Just what the hell has supporting homosexuality and gay rights in got to do with a country turning into a rogue State? We all know our major donors i.e. the USA, Japan, UK, Germany, France, South Africa and all the Scandinavian countries respect the rights of homosexuals and yet this has not turned them into rogue states. And if they were, what would it say about Kunda keeping on receiving aid from so called ‘rogue states?’ If I were this man, I would shut up because people can start saying he contracted his slimming fimo fimo from an adulterous none straight sexual escapade.

  21. JOJO no 18, no my fiance is watching tv
As a zambins What about their human rights? Yes, they are different from us. They are homosexual however they are human too. They are entitled to every singles rights that heterosexuals have. They have the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They were born homosexual and there’s nothing in this world can change this fact. Just like the heterosexuals that pursue a marriage with a member of the opposite sex, the homosexuals also have the essential needs, natural rights to seek a civil union with a member of the same sex. Their pursuit of happiness does not interfere with ours or is it based on our pain, thus their right to pursuit should not be denied. Their right to happiness should not be criminalized.
    Thanks

  22. Just look at his picture above, poli bokoshi its like ni planga sure! Maybe these are the effects of taking it from the backside too much, flat bokoshi and red lips. I challenge Kunda to deny he is a homosexual.

  23. Mushota
At the rate you are going, you will inspire a lot of ill wind from people and ill will towards you will cause you problems. You may find yourself spouseless, homeless, stateless. Tone down on your personal opinions after all that is usually how your white fella would like. Abasungu tabatemwa ifitala! They will say that you are aggressive and more so if you argue with hands and arms flying!

  25. The saint
All humans are born sexual beings whether young or old, whether big or small, whether gay or straight or even in between. Thus we all have the need to feel belonging to or be intimate with someone. Marriage is simply the union between two people in love. Heterosexual couples who are in love then marry are given a certificate. Heterosexual couple who are not in love can also get a marriage certificate. But why homosexual couple who are truly in love can’t are not allowed to marry by law in zambia and counties of the land of the free? If two people are in love, of the legal age, with both consents, their matrimony should be recognized by law regardless of their sexual orientations. Marriage is above love and based on love, sexual orientations
    Thanks

  26. I agree with some posters that homosexuality is wrong and should not be promoted. However, we must acknowledge the fact that there are people in our communities who are gay and must be accepted for who they are.First of all you must understand one thing: Gay rights are the same rights guaranteed to all of us heterosexuals and enshrined in our constitution. They are not asking for special treatment. Whether MCS & HH support gay rights or not will not make Zambia gay free. We must accept we have a problem. But we can only manage the problem if we know who is involved. Interesting those amongst the so called heterosexual community there are men who engage in anal sex with women. How different is that from homosexuality?

  27. This chi VP really sucks, i wish he can resign on immoral grounds, he is such a big liability to LAZ; steven kachikala this ***** shud be debared.

  28. No 29, Homosexuality should be promoted
Why is homosexual abnormal and unnatural? Homosexuality is abnormal and unnatural merely because of the number of people who are homosexual is rather small comparing to vast majority of people who are heterosexual. Abnormal and unnatural has always carried the connotation of being bad. People have failed time after time through out history to know that being of minority does not necessarily mean being bad while belonging to the majority does not necessarily make one good or superior. We have to accept and respect the fact that not everyone is exactly the same like us

As a highly civilized society, we shall not make the same mistakes again to suppress, threaten, and prosecute the homosexual minority

    Thanks

  29. wake up africa, turning a blind eye on homosexuality would be the same as turning a blind eye on black skin, if you say Zed is a christian nation then you should embrass homos just as you expect to be accepted by other races. Being born black is like being born a homosexual, but being born black and gay is like a death sentence in third world countries. I’m not gay but I fully respect them in fact i would rather have gay friends than straight ones, cause gays are just cool. Learn from Obama he has fully recognised gay people in america, if he can do it as the most powerfull man on this planet, who are you to condem how someone was born. THERE IS NO SUCH A THING LIKE A CHRISTIAN NATION especially if THEY STILL HANG PEOPLE!!!

  30. I am glad I have been vindicted by no 33
At last someone who says the truth on here. Thank you Bush..

It is most likely that the Bible and the scripture that prohibits homosexuality will never change. However, one can not ignore the fact that not everyone is of Christianity; not everyone believes in the Bible. It is simply unrealistic and unpractical to impose the Christian standard to all people, even people of a different religious faith. This point has been similarly expressed and many times resonate

    thanks

  31. #14,
Mr Mushota, God created man and woman, not man and man nor woman and woman. The purpose was to enjoy warm relationship and to procreate. Even human biology recognises the fact that both male and female sexual organs were designed for this purpose. So people dont need to experince what u guys ‘feel’ or ‘experince’ (as u asked in #14 above) for them to put homosexuality in its right place-the trush. Also, homosexuality has not been repoted among animals as u stated in #17 above. Its however not suprising to see people practising and promoting homosexuality as u are doing (in #32) coz even the bible, the oldest and the only inspired book foretold that in the last days ‘men/women will leave their natural use of women/men and practice what is unnatural’.

  32. The Vip is correct. Our students have done extensive research which have revealed that homosexuality is an abomination in our culture. our people will not accept it and they believe that everyone supporting or promoting it is sick in the head. they are fighting a losing battle

  33. #33 Bushmaster:
Dont express ur ignorance and inferiority complex here. Obama does not set standards/values of how people on the planet, not even the Americans should live. There are many well meaning US citizens who are aganst this vice, infact in some states its not even a debatable issue. In addition, you guys are NOT born homosexual, you just turn homosexual. There is no divine nor scientific evidence that suggest that some people are born homos.

  34. Why should what somebody does in his or her private room be a concern to the person walking down the street or outside the window ? The fact that us straight men don`t understand what makes gay pipo to be attracted toward pipo of the same sex is a reason enough not for us to judge them.It is not fair to give judgement over issues we don`t understand. My daughter has a gay teacher and he is one of the humblest pipo hav ever seen.Being gay doesn`t change his dedication to his work or make him a less active member of society.I suggest Kunda should instead address the many issues faced by Zambia like high levels of Poverty and disease and what measures his administration wants to put into place to adress them.We need issue based politics pa Zed not those of playing to the gallery.

  35. Sata and HH have their right to campaign for Gay rights. But since these gentlemen are advocating for a fundamental shift in the way families have been managed and raised in the last 2000 years, we need a national referendum. In the referendum campaigns we need to explain to our village headmen that gay couples will need to adopt children from hetero sexual couples and therefore adoption laws may need amending. This is rule of law.

  36. Am not sure presidents Sata and HH should reply yo Joji Cool-nder regarding this issue. They’ve a lot of other improtant things on there plates right now

  37. Rubbish……… i really dont understand the sanity of some of our leaders…… you bring about issue that you dont even understand……. and why not talk about your parties agenda on GAYZ… come out clean… are you VP if going to remove all GAY rights?

  38. Well, this theme is a complicated one in terms of the nation. However, the way nations are being led is evolving and more so the way of life is ever changing. They say change is painful, indeed it is as most people could not cope with change. What will be the consequences of legalising homosexuality? What impact would this have on the economy of mother Zambia? What could we learn from nations that have legalised it? What could I do if my brother, son, nephew, uncle, dad, grand dad, told me that he was gay? Before we hit that keyboard let us think and debate reasonably.

  39. The point is that the Bible says ‘the homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of heaven.’ This means then that homosexuality is sinful. But then this might be restricted to those who beleive in the Christian God. And we all know that that is perhaps a quarter of the world’s population.

  40. peeps, i skim if our laws expressly prohibit the practice of homosexuality, then these laws shud be respected. This only means do it private and keep it quiet, like watching porn. its not allowed in our laws but people watch porn extensively in the privacy of their homes. No need to go blabbing that u’re gay wen u know that as a Zambian society we’re very far from accepting you.

  41. As we debate this contentious subject let us reflect on some crucial and foundamental elements that make us who we are, for instance culture, morals, values and other principles. In doing so, we shall attempt to get closer to the ‘truth’. Conversely, the above mentioned factors may have a biased view of homosexuality, for example one could say ‘it is not our culture’ and another ‘it is immoral’. But we need to define these elements in a socially constructed manner. What I may value is not the same as that of Mushota for example. We need to have an open mind.

  42. Forget the beliefs
Homosexuality is in animals, most importantly in us human kind thru history, but why is it still generally perceived as morally unacceptable? This situation has several contributing factors. First, many religious and social conservatives believe that the bible prohibits homosexuality thus gays and lesbians alike are sinful, hated by God and should be criminalized.
Second, people without any understanding about homosexuality simply think that it is chosen by those who practice it, and those who practice it are mentally ill.
Third, it is simply unnatural and abnormal since the vast majority of people are heterosexual.
Fourth, Homosexuality is fruitless; procreation is not possible.

We should accept gays and lesbian, I discuss this with fiance

    Thanks

  43. Ndate Sicaba, from your analysis, it could be argued that you are taking a ‘sophism approach’. It is often difficult to understand the Bible as it is written by a number of people. Nevertheless, we all know that it talks about ‘good’ things ‘love your neighbour as I love you’ and how many of us do? Philosophically, most of us will be shocked. What we take to be natural may not be. What we take to be normal may not be. What we take to be the truth be not be. Let us consider ourselves as individuals and this is the epicentre of our needs, choices and preferences. Of course some choices will not be acceptable by others this is the way of life, it is paradoxical. My choice was to marry and have children. And I am happy.

  44. Mushota – As a sister, I appreciate your contribution so is other bloggers here, however, I have started getting worried that you are entirely spending too much time on the computer than with your fiance. I would suggest that you do the opposite of the case and when he gets you a ring then you can spend more time on the computer if you know what I mean.

    Worried sis.

  45. There is nothing natural about being gay or lesbian its just madness or being demonic. Its shame that even do or any animal in the bush can reason better than some of these pipo. How do u put yo manhood in the a.s.s of yo fellow man & claim that u’re normal? U must be completely mad or out of yo senses. Keep this rubbish & devilish practice away from our mother zambia

  46. There is nothing natural about being gay or lesbian its just madness or being demonic. Its shame that even dogs or any animal in the bush can reason better than some of these pipo. How do u put yo manhood in the a.s.s of yo fellow man & claim that u’re normal? U must be completely mad or out of yo senses. Keep this rubbish & devilish practice away from our mother zambia

  47. I totally accept your views Mushota. But not everyone has been exposed to what you have experienced. Hence, it is imperative to respect people’s views. I personally was against the issue of homosexuality until I met the individuals through my work. The social interaction that took place changed my perception, attitude and behaviour. On the other hand, my best mate is still not convinced. You cannot convince everyone as each person is an individual and will have his/her on perspective. For Zambia this issue may take some people to plot 1 or it may keep some people at plot 1. It all depends on the majority. Moreover, there are bigger issues to debate on and this one is a drop in the ocean. Happy New Year people. This year is crucial for our country.

  48. #Mushota…i was intellectually stimulated by your arguments…though you did not state which research. So much research has been done on this subject by many people, including me. Here is a little take on that.

There are 3 main categories of sexual orientation: heterosexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality.
The longstanding consensus of the behavioral and social sciences and the health and mental health professions is that homosexuality per se is a normal and positive variation of human sexual orientation (Bell, Weinberg & Hammersmith, 1981; Bullough, 1976; Ford & Beach 1951 ; Kinsey, Pomeroy, & Martin, 1948; Kinsey, Pomeroy, Martin, & Gebhard, 1953 ). Homosexuality per se is not a mental disorder (APA, 1975) [1], though many religious societies, including some psychological…

  49. associations, teach that homosexual activity is sinful or dysfunctional [2,3,4].
The mechanisms for the development of a particular sexual orientation remain unclear, but the current literature and most scholars in thefield state that one’s sexual orientation is not a choice; that is, individuals do not choose to be homosexual or heterosexual[5,6].

  50. A variety of theories about the influences on sexual orientation have been proposed [7,8]. Sexual orientation probably is not determined by any one factor but by a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental influences [9]. In recent decades, biologically based theories have been favored by experts. The high concordance of homosexuality among monozygotic twins and the clustering of homosexuality in family pedigrees support biological models. There is some evidence that prenatal androgen exposure influences development of sexual orientation, but postnatal sex steroid concentrations do not vary with sexual orientation.

  51. The reported association in males between homosexual orientation and loci on the X chromosome remains to be replicated. Some research has shown neuroanatomic differences between homosexual and heterosexual persons in sexually dimorphic regions of the brain [8]. Although there continues to be controversy and uncertainty as to the genesis of the variety of human sexual orientations, there is no scientific evidence that abnormal parenting, sexual abuse, or other adverse life events influence sexual orientation [8,10]. Current knowledge suggests that sexual orientation is usually established during early childhood [8-11].

  52. #40 you are the ignorant one here as for inferiority complex unless you are white you cannot deny that the black skin is discriminted against all over the world, before most africans (except S. africans) travelled out of africa they did’nt know the meaning of the word discrimination till they expirenced it first hand… does that make them inferior? ur black skin is not tolerated in the US either and yet its not your fault you were born black, put yourself in a homosexuals perspective where he starts realizing that he prefers to be with the same sex than the opposite, so much that however he tries to brush it off it haunts him even more… just like trying to bleach the black skin off and the blackness reappears once you stop using jaribu soap, if you continue you get skin cancer.,,,

  53. I know Sata’s position on gays – he doesn’t care> Kunda must be gay to be talking about it all the time

  54. homosexuals perspective, woman is like a cancer!! Hey google and checkout the man who as raped by donkey, now that’s a pervert animal!

  55. To be talking about such a non-issue when there is disease and poverty all around in your country makes a useless VP

  56. It would be interested to find out the ontological and epistemological standpoint of the researchers quoted. Moreover, the background of the researchers may have influence on the outcomes. The theoretic paradigms are important in an research design. And of course not all social scientists will agree to any research. No wonder we have the quantitative and qualitative paradigms. It is now common to conduct mixed research and triangulation is becoming widespread . However, a lacuna still exists in the body of literature as highlighted by The Keen Observer. The question is if it is not a choice are the individuals forced to be either heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual?

  57. Toilet business is big business……. i know women who sell human excrement for loads of money, the buyers prefers it served fresh directly in the mouth. These women are married but have ‘studios’ where they do their business, if you think being a homo is dirty think again!

  58. Thanx kunda. Let Sata state his position on gay clearly so that the pipo of zambia can know who is capable of bringing immorality. If continuez to keep quiet then it meanz he supports yakumbuyo. Hence we will happily vote 4 Bwezani to continue at least he will preserve zambiaz morality.

  59. So whose arse in the picture then? Kunda?

As for the gay issue, Kunda was only pandering to the ‘christians’ in the meeting. Its just an electoral gimmick , nothing to do with principle, he knows human rights in modern times generally tolerate gay rights…….as for Mr Sata he nearly came open supporting gay rights but backtracked when he realised it does not work in Zmbia, just not yet. So to win elections in Zed you either have to be quite about gays or be openly aginst because the majority are.

  60. #55 there is a lot you still have to learn about the world we are living in, sticking your manhood in another mans backside ain’t nothing serious some women asks for it from their men, some men do it to their women. Africans has been deprived of information for years and years, so you are still backwards when it comes to information, with the world wide web at hand, africa the sleeping giant is about to wake up and smell the coffee, and coffee comes with different flavours!

  61. Ama Zambians pafyaku bedroom, iyo mwandi. Even in 2011 you want to restrict who sees who? People, when you embrace this animal called democracy, you should understand that it comes as a package. Kunda is the vp, few months ago he spent billions of Zambian tax payers’ money on a constitution, if he felt so passionate about this practice, why didn’t he put it in the constitution? Why ask others to state their positions while he has not stated his? The f00l is just politicking, and thinks homosexuality will sway the nation from its current position on the MMD thuggery. Coming to you his supporters on LT, sadly, no one here has mentioned how they have been hurt by homosexuality. We have all seen it, resent it, but no one here mentions how it has affected their lifestyle or sexuality.

  62. It becomes a sin when you are licking more than one and unnatural when you combine with ukutobele (hot nshima)!

  63. Someone needs to come out of the closet. Mr Kunda’s anal fixation is becoming annoying. Homosexuality is not an issue in Zambia. Why the veep wants to make it so is beyond comprehension

  64. THE MAJORITY OF ZAMBIANS ARE NOT READY TO ACCEPT HOMOSEXUALS A AS A NORMAL PHENOMENON. WHY CANT YOU RESPECT OUR RIGHTS TO NOT ACCEPT HOMOS? WHY DO WE HAVE TO ACCEPT IT AS NORMAL? IF SATA SUPPORTS GAY RIGHTS HE SHOULD COME RIGHT OUT AND SAY IT AND LETS SEE HOW MANY ZAMBIANS WILL SUPPORT HIS POINT OF VIEW? MUSHOTA JUST LIKE YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO BE GAY OR SUPPORT GAYS, I ALSO HAVE A RIGHT NOT TO SUPPORT THEM AND I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR A GAY PERSON NOR VOTE FOR A POLITICIAN WHO WANTS TO BRING SUCH AN ABOMINATION ON ZAMBIA

  65. # 78 thanx. Actually many zambians incluing me can never vote 4 a chap who supports yakumbuyo. The issue of man to man sex is not only nonsensical but does not even deserve any debate whatsoever. gay is illegal in zambia & pipo shud understand that once & 4 all. To hell with ifyabupuba

  66. It is myopic to think that homosexuality has ‘hurt’ people. Well, how many of us have been ‘hurt’ by being heterosexual? To find your man or woman being tossed from right left and center! Imagine! You can be hurt by any sexual orientation Kalos2121. I think, what puts off most of the people is the imagination. I enjoy being with a woman it is a wonderful pleasure. But I have no problem with what John does to Peter. It is a private matter.

  67. I hear George Kunda is one chap that used to be facked by white males to fund his education. He is not gay but he did it for money.

  68. If these same homosexual have preference for the same sex then why do some dress or attempt to look like women ? Shouldn’t the ideal choice be someone masculine in looks. The lesbos also claim that they don’t like deek but why all those dildos. Why not just go for the real thing ?? Very strange.

  69. Why not talk about why today in Zambia if one is driving straight that driver is drunk because sober drivers will Zig Zag to avoid pot holes instead of wasting time on thigs Zambians have no interest in of course Kunda himself who used to be facked at Theos in Luanshya by rich Greeks..

  70. Zambia is a christian nation bla..bla..bla. How many men are comitting adultary in Zambia? to me that’s even worse than being gay!!

  71. # 45. There’s no such a thing as homosexual genes. If that were true, homosexuals would reproduce; they don’t. It is acquired behavior. We don’t learn from animals. Animals roam around naked, should we? Animals cannibalize, should we?Animals have no law and order, should we? A casual reading of the Bible reveals that God judged the world in Noah’s day because of sexual sins Lk.17:26,27. Sodom and Gomorrah were judged because of this sin.The children of Israel were instructed by God to exterminate all the inhabitants of Palestine and their sin topping the list…you guessed it:sexual sins especially homo. Be warned, homosexuality is not a lifestyle anymore than bestiality or adultery is(Romans 1:26 – 28). ALL cultures ALL over the world speak of a world wide flood, Bible or no Bible.

  72. Muzungus are preparing to move to another planet, you are still there wasting time questioning someones private lives, for an african man it must be more difficult to break away from the shackles of ‘culture’ and get on with life in todays society its becoming more easy to discuss sexuality but its still a very sensitive issue and most africans feels embarrassed by i,t therefore its best not accepted and pretend its not there!!

  73. I would spend time on this issue if it was contagious and airborne or waterborne. Since it is none of these, it really means nothing and if Kunda wants to go for it as a campaign issue, he should go for it. It will take them nowhere apart from losing big time.

  74. From “The Vice-President [Minister George Kunda] alleged that Mr [PF serpentine Michael Chilufya] Sata is unpredictable and inconsistent and cannot be entrusted with the instruments of power because he cannot handle the security of the nation” it appears that what ever Mr MC Sata does, he can not be allowed to be Zambian President and I only hope that the above quote was wrongly written by the authors of the news.

Otherwise, the statement alleged to be from George Kunda is a danger to Zambian democracy and also an eye opener to all PF cadres that they must just easily support HH of the mighty UPND as the PACT 2011 presidential candidate so that the PACT forms GRZ. Otherwise, I wish PF a good time of being in the Opposition.

    Have a prosperous 2011 and be blest…

  75. # 90, I would rather have Sata who is unpredictable and inconsistent on corruption than Banda who is consistent with corruption and predictable that he wont be in Zambia next week and every week. I can support HH, but he should denounce you tribalists and whose only agenda is find HH in state house just because he is your fellow tonga man. Start discussing issues on their merit, probably you will have some support. HH is proving to be under five in politics by adhering to tribalism and his failure to denounce people like you.

  76. Instead of talking about more serious issues affecting the majority of people ka Kunda is talking things just for politics. Ka Chiluba declared Zambia as a christian nation when he was busy having sex with someone else s wife…Regina….whats there to show that zambia is really a christian nation……? please show me.By the way the peace in Zambia has nothing to do with Chi Ruphia Banda.

  77. IWE KA MUSHOTA……

I NEED TO LINK UP WITH YOU, GOD CREATED EVE AND NOT STEVE FOR ADAM, DONT TAKE UP THIS RUBBISH EUROPEAN OR WHITE-MAN’S CULTURE I PRAY THIS MADNESS SHOULD NEVER EVER COME TO ZAMBIA, I KNOW SATA NORMALLY SUPPORTS USELESS THINGS SUCH AS BEING ANTI CHINA, ANTI DUAL NATIONALITY ,GAY RIGHTS etc, he will do ANYTHING THAT CAN PUT $$$$$ IN HIS POCKET THE GUY ALMOST MORTGAGED ZAMBIA TO TAIWANS…GOD HELP US

  78. some dogs have a better life than some humans, gays are born same as heteros and multi-sexuals the sooner we all accept that its nothing you adopt like wearing wigs the better for all, gay people just want to get on with their lives just like everybody else. I’ts a hard knock life!

  79. HH and Sata should also include in their plans the costs of transplanting organs such as breasts and private organs.

  80. A person’s moral rectitude is more dependent on that person’s relationship with God than on what organisation, church or political part one belongs to. Any open minded researcher will admit that so far, what has been said on homosexuality is not conclusive enough to be used as ground for accepting the practice as normal. It is still a pervasion and the effective way we can help our afflicted colleagues is to pray for healing, for being gay is a sickness, and not legalising their sickness. It is unfortunate if Sata is for legalising it and sad indeed that some way back, a prominent catholic scholar had the nerve to propose legalising gayism as one way of fighting the HIV/AIDS pandermic.

  81. Mushota in #11
Do not abuse the term church. As far as I know only the catholic church has obligatory celibacy for its clergy. Big mistake we make is to think church is synonymous with moral rectitude. Churches are social organisations like any other, therefore, are subject to a lot limitations due to human contingence. Most often, people spend more time selling their churches than simply living the plain truth as written in the bible. It is for this reason that many now no longer see anything wrong with gays, because they listen more to the various sciences at the expense of developing a deeper personal relationship with God. If it is tolerated, why has it cost the catholic church billions of dollars in North America and Europe, in the past 20years?

  82. Perhaps Sata knows that gays and other miniority populations are not a real problem compared to the real challenges that this country faces. Imagine a situation where all gays disappeared from our country. Would the country be better off or worse? I am willing to bet we would be worse off. The issue of gays cannot be solved by politicians or a political solution. The only thing I see is that some politicians use it to attack their opponents. Mugabe, Museveni, Hitler and others have done so in the past. It is quite cheap for the VP to use this outdated tactic to attack his opponents. Let us have debate on how MMD will deliver propsperity to the majority of Zambians. That is what I want to hear from politicians from all camps.

  83. Zondwe is back, i hope he is going to follow through with his threat and sue the veep. One week ultimatum passed along time ago and kabimba is still dragging his feet. Sue please before you are called cowards.

  84. Some politicians are dont think properly, there are other people bilogically who av sexual orientation prblems, should tjey be denied an opportunity to enjoy life in the name of homosexually rules? some times its betterto look at an issue in depth. Simple biology would be good for Goerge!

  85. We Africans are always the last people to move forward. Take the African Americans for example, they consistently stigmatize gay people. Meanwhile many of them are on the down low (Closet gays). Recently Bishop Eddie Long a pastor with 30000 member church was exposed as a gay man. Meanwhile he has been in the forefront in the campaign aginist gays. I am willing to bet the VP is a closet gay, by the way he is always bashing and attacking the harmless gay community. If these people were a danger to the community or were stealing from State coffers, perhaps it would be justified to go after them. The citizens need service delivery from government and not spiritual guidance. Morality and spiritual matters are for the men of the cloth.

  86. This is an opportunity for Zambia to lead Africa on homosexuality. We’re always quick to condemn racism when it is against us, but when given a chance to to do good and recognise diversity we seem to let ourselves down. Ba Veep, question for you and fellow bloggers, what would be your stance if your child came to you saying he/she was gay? THERE IS NOTHING WRONG TO WITH BEING GAY.
