And speaking at the same event, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Li Quingmin said the mobile hospitals will go a long way in uplifting people’s lives in rural areas.

Mr. Li said President Banda should be appreciated for his initiative to purchase mobile hospitals.

He said China will not relent in partnering with the Zambian government especially in the health sector.

  1. So old man, You have come 15minutes late and the mobile hospital is that one leaving dust. It has just left for the next village. Try next week if you will still be alive…he he he he he….ke ke ke ha ha….

  2. now that you have these moving hospitals you need to make roads passables or else we will soon see them parked by the police station. Another warning! Don’t use these vehicles to steal votes! VIVA HH.

  3. If these mobile hospitals use fuel, then it is not a good plan considering the prices in our nation. Zambians for real we are blind folded, what a big loan just for waste. Even developing countries like South Africa, Tunisia etc with good roads and lower fuel prices cannot go for this poor plan.

  4. No wonder this time around we need fresh blood with vision in politics and not these recycled politicians who have really taken us for a ride. Is this the political experience many cry for of wastage, I would rather vote for one without political experience but can deliver economically, and thats no other than HH.

  5. those in medicine proffesion help what makes a place to be called hospital or clinic because am wandering calling this ngugulu or container that is a hosptial. wish this issue was voting like constitution could have been better because mmd behavour like is mad prostitute who does not care what tomorrow will be.

  6. Not a sustainable solution. That money could have been spent on constructing 1 or 2 or so clinics or hospitals,a more sustainable solution.Do we have genuine advisors or is it the decison makers who did not get the advise???????????????????

    Can do better

  7. There is no medicine at Kanyama clinic and people were even protesting, now where are they going to find medicines, fuel etc for the mobile hospitals. This is really luck of thinking capacity even it is a gimmick of political experience. If political experience means wasting, then I would rather have just a manager to manage the economy without any pilitical experience. Viva HH man of the moment.

  8. Please criticise constructively. 300 patients already attended to at no cost. Bad roads or costly fuel surely should not hinder people from getting health care. There is no bigger cost for good health. The equipt will prevent people from walking long distances to access medical care. Building a hospital in one area is a good idea but it still does not solve the long distances people travel to get there. Some of these carried on scotch carts!

  9. Are’nt these mobile hospitals going to be used as vehicles to transport ballot boxes?Note that those mobile hospitals are made from china which makes spares difficult to aquire here in zambia.Roads to move these hospitals also are unpassable. How much money will the spend in fuels, allowances of medical personal using these mobile hospitals and many more….kaya mwandi,we are yet to see how far they will go

  10. They showed these hospitals on tv. There are 7 of them. And they are all complementary. Yes, contrary to popular belief, these are not independent units. They are all specialised. At that cost, we could have built more than 7 fully functional hospitals. The myopia in govt is frightening!

  11. This will surely help people who have had no access to healthcare as it’ll bring healthcare closer to the people. Continue developing the nation H.E.R.B. This is good news.

  12. what kind of development are you talking about? Because that money used on these vehicles could have build a well furnitured and equiped permanent hospital somewhere. MMD has lost the vision hence we need fresh mind in the Govt. The best man is HH. Please fellow Zambians open your eyes! VOTE for real change.

  13. Rb ,while we appriciate that the moblie hospitals will serve Zambians for a short time, what we need are permanent structures like Kitwe cenral hospital that has stood since colonial era and still is serving Zambians to day.It may have changed its original name from LLewelyn hospital to Kitwe Central but the structure is still there only ,needs rehabilitation if with a caring goverment in place. Not you mmd the promoters of plunderers.

  14. 1)Sorry the mobile hospital just left to another village. It is coming next week.
2)sorry we can’t come we need spare part from china and a machnic from the ministry.
3)sorry no medicine waiting for supply from the ministry, roads impassable for other ministry vehicles.
    4)sorry mobile hospital……….
This is poor plan. Pay those 4doctors I don’t know how much.and how is grz going to pay loan back if they continue to pay Chinese docs. And service. Hahahah

  15. A moving hospital? are we at WAR? If not, which roads are the going to use to reach the villages? Who ever advised MMD to buy these sinking titanics has no brains. First, we have no proper road infrastructure as a country which we can be proud of, second, these titanics will need spares and where are you going to get them when it breaks in Shakombo? You have to wait for a spare from china?Chinese cars parts are not compatible with most auto makers, they are like Russians, their products has no spare parts back up, that is why they are only popular inside their countries

  16. As a health worker, I’m really dismayed at these mobile clinics. Chinese Doctors on each one of them to teach Zambian Doctors to do do what? Zambian MDs are better qualified than these uniqualified chinese. The opposite will be happening coz when these fakes come, they start learning on our people, & even from our nurses & clinical officers. Where are they going to admit C-section women, other emergency surgeries? They won’t be there for the people 24/7, compared if this money were used to build fully functional & equipped clinics every 15/20km, reducing maximum walking distance to 7.5-10km. It’s absurdity of the highest order to insinuate this will solve problems of distance walked by patients, what a country’s leadership, it sucks. Small brains indeed.

  17. 8.7 million Zambians wil benefit from the 9 mobile Hospitals? Who is behind this man’s brains? All the dipatalaz are death roles. No imiti,no water, no lynen,no food.Dilapdated structures, lawns around hipatalaz don’t even know the smell of water.Just approaching the doorstep of the hospiatals you smell death. We have to come with water from home for our patients.DEAF MEN AT WORK.DEAF POLITICIANS

  18. What you need is doctors. As of today the University of Zambia school of Medicine is only Institution producing 50 a year due to lack of capacity. Mobile hospitals with no doctors, what is the use.

  19. Zambians never learn.
    Fiat plant
    zamcab
    UBz
all these mooer vehicle companies are non existent due to roads and cost of maintanence. Give these hospitals 2 years they will b done ! What a joke !!

  20. This no-brain president is a relic of a dead brain. He does not know that in Zambia tyres are expensive, and we have ambulances without tyres, fuel and doctors are poorly paid.

  21. 23 Mbuzi,

Not two years, but the mobile hospitals will work up to the General election 2011 month and after that they will be packed as they will be broken and spare parts have to come from China.

    God gracious, help us!

  22. President Banda ni CHINTOMFWA chitontoli. Chumbu munshololwa.

The President was just giving a lecture to his fellow dictator Zimbambwean President Mugabe on respecting his people ‘s rights and wishes but back home here in Zambia he is doing the same. Going ahead with the mobile hospitals which majority of Zambians have rejected with a big no vote!!

After President Banda and the MMD loss in Parliament regarding the MMD made constitution which Zambians rejected, i thought he can learn but alas he can not!!!!!

  23. This is real blindness from an experienced politicians, I think they just want to be convert people to MMD and give them cards after treating them, because no scene person can take this as a solution to improve our health sector. If they cannot afford to buy medicine at Chawama clinic, which even has beds for patients to sleep and be treated, where will the medicine for the container vehicle come from. No wonder poolitical experience is nothing,as it just bring more poverty.

  24. #26 SHAKA OZ, I am not aware that MMD lost anything in Parliament, the record is that as the government in power they were obliged to present the constitution Bill as compiled by NCC which included UPND MPs. If those UPND MPs did not act responsibly at NCC and in Parliament, whose loss is it? By the way is it this gross misinterpretation of process that led Mr Sata to call for dissolution of Parliament and “early” elections?

I am not aware that there was a vote by Zambians on the mobile hospitals and the majority voted no, where was I to miss such a big event, please give me the date.

  25. This is the development we want, RB for 2011. Sata wont put money in your pocket, he’s laying. The post newspaper is also useless, everyday writing about Sata and attacking HH and UPND.

  26. I met someone who lives in Chipata and I was asking him about the developmental projects taking place especially in Easter Province. This gentleman told me that RB commissions uncompleted projects, eg the Chipata-Mchinga rail is not functional, it is overgrown with grass and no train has ever passted thru since the commissioning. Mozambique has refused to use the rail line bcoz they say it is not strong, it was done in hurry. The pipo who were laying the rails are just drunks whom were picked to do the job. According to this gentleman, he says there is nothing to show for RB’s reign in power. The “Chawama hospital” is nothing but the same old clinic with the same old infrastructure and equipment. Evertything is same old, nothing new.

  27. WHERE ARE THE ZAMBIAN DOCTORS
WHO IS MAKING THESE DEALS AND HOW MUCH ARE THEY PAYING THEM?
DOES THIS IMPROVE OUR COUNTRY HAS THE GOVERNMENT LOOKED AT EDUCATING OUR OWN INSTED OF OUTSOURCING FROM CHINA
