Zambia To Play Mozambique At Nchanga Stadium

Share

Zambia and Mozambique will clash at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola this June in the return leg of their 2012 Africa Cup Group C qualifier.

Faz confirmed today that the match will be played on June 4 as Zambia shifts its home game from Nkoloma Stadium where they beat Comoros 4-0 in their Group C opener last September.

The senior team returns to play at Nchanga for the first time in 10 years where they played their final two 2002 Africa Cup Group 1 qualifying home matches including one 2002 World Cup Group 1 qualifying clash against Angola.

Zambia, who beat Mozambique 2-0 in the first leg away on March 27 in Maputo, are currently second in Group C on 6 points while the latter are third on 4 points.

Libya lead on 7 points and travel to bottom placed Comoros who are on zero points during the same weekend in June.

Libya beat 3-0 Comoros in Bamako on March 28.

  1. Hope the mambas wont embarrass us at our back yard. The remaining matches are tricky, any draw or loss, count Zambia out of the race to AFCON

  2. Chingola is so finished now.

Parents marry off their young children just so they can have something to do planning a wedding. Men just drink and eat michopos and get round like bull frogs. This used to be a thriving town with alot of activity, swimming, tennis, theatre…

  3. I am a Chingola person and last time I saw my child hood stadium it was in a very poor state and this i a year ago. I hope things have changed to play such a game at that stadium.
Still in love with my home town, good luck to Chingola one of the most un tribal towns in Zambia

  4. Zambian stadiums are below standard. I trully dont know how Nchanga stadium was choosen to host an event of such magnitude. Ifyani tamwaba muchibansa, grandstand and VIP area is the joke, half of the fans and supporters in the attendance bengilila pa fibumba, ifimbusu fyalifwasa. Talk about the the players and officials locker /changing rooms…yaaaaba ifibi tafisalwa elyo mwaliba notususu, ama bulbs nayo baliba..well and thats true to most stadiums in the country and not just Nchanga stadium. Anyways, good luck Chipolopolo boys!

  5. @ At Nubian Princess hahahahahahahahaha, oh! you are serious with what you are saying and I should not laugh. Anyway the state of Zambian football is good, this way our hearts are safe from stress.

  6. #9: U cracked my ribs with your description – ati mwaliba no tususu zoona! I saw Nchanga Stadium at a distance, it wasnt in good shape. whatever has happened to Konkola stadium!

  7. I was at Nchanga Stadium pa Saturday watching Rangers Vs Lupopo. Their are no bats, Tamwaba utususu. There is grass on the pitch, although not as green as one would expect, Mwaliba nolunkoto muchibansa lelo talwakwata sana ilangi ilyakatapa katapa sana. I never went into the toilets although I noticed some people urinating utu jilijili (tu fyanta) along the wall from inside. The seating area in the grand stand and in the open wing is fine although not as good as at Nkoloma or Arthur Davies, where they have plastic seats. Otherwise the stadium itselft is okay and can easily host an international game.

  8. In my opinion Konkola Stadium is a better option. The sitting capacity is bigger than Nchanga and the playing turf of better quality than “Gabbittas” Stadium

  9. No. 3 uliwabufi Ilyapwa li town not abantu…. You should be asking what the council is doing about the roads but of course there is no govt support as this is a PF strong hold. What is the PF council doing?

  10. mu zambia if the president does not command, nothing happens in any town, thats why we should remove this joke of a government so that we can make a better constitution that will enable all Zambians to take part in rebuilding our towns and villages……. beautiful Zambia.
