MMD acting national secretary Chembe Nyangu

Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) Acting National Secretary, has refuted claims by some members within the party that President Rupiah Banda has preferred candidates to stand as Parliamentary candidates in the forthcoming elections.

In a press statement released to ZANIS today, Mr. Nyangu said the MMD Secretariat has received disturbing reports among senior party members
most of whom are parliamentarians, spreading rumours that the President has preferred candidates to stand as MPs.

Mr. Nyangu said the claims were baseless and unfounded and that the party had reaffirmed the President’s statements in the press briefing
that took place recently.

He said the party would stand by the President’s address to the media who said that the grassroots would decide who should be their parliamentary candidates.

The National Secretary explained that the MMD Secretariat was encouraging all those willing to apply to feel free and lodge in their applications to their respective constituencies without feeling intimidated.

Mr. Nyangu advised the general membership to cooperate with the party leadership and respect each other.

  1. Ba MMD yaluka. The problem is u dont keep secrets. Though u accuse the post of being liers, you are just the same.

  2. some people are just supporting this MMD blindly…
These people are just stealing everyday and pls don’t ask me for evidence cuz i know.. i’m part of the inner circle.
Why I’m revealing all this is because my conscious is killing me.
ITS YO OWN FAULT ESPECIALLY SOME OF YOU BLOGGERS WITHOUT AGENDAS.

SATA CAN TURN TABLES AROUND BELIEVE ME CUZ HH IS UNRELIABLE AS HE HAS ALREADY DEFECTED TO MMD AND WILL SOON MAKE A PUBLIC STATEMENT

  3. First things first. Kachingwe is there and he is the Secretary. There is no acting now.

To the topic, probably this guy has forgotten what happened in the MMD Provincial elections were Banda hand picked candidates and fought hard to block his perceived enemies. What happened at the MMD so called convention were some people were even kicked out of the party because they became threats to the RB establishment – Simple English – Criminal Syndicate?

  4. Democracy is not comparative. Whether PF or MMD is democratic, it is dependent on their actions. So, waiting for PF’s convention is a waste of time. It is either MMD is democratic or not. PF will be judged on their actions not on MMD actions. Free lesson on democracy. Yes, I just gave it out for free.

  5. When he dumps a number of them for new ones, that’s is when they will learn and believe what we have been talking about all along that once Unipist, always Unipist.

  6. Actually that is the main reason he cannot announce the election date consequently rendering all MPs as free to reflect on their futures. He is avoiding the seemingly pending exodus that will hit MMD with regards to current MPs. Kukaba ukusebana mu MMD.

  7. MMD has really turned into UNIP. Even the  some of the members look like the UNIP  old guards. The guy in the photo looks like Malimba Masheke. That’s how much MMD has transformed into UNIP among other traits. Why do things like this always have to happen to a beautiful country like Zambia?

  8. For F**cks we have have better things to worry about everyone has some people they favor in life. Who ever the prez prefers does not mean they have already bagged the seat up their Ass the people will have to vote unless it’s all a formality, we can all go back to sleep. MORONS!!!
