China will be neutral during Zambia polls

Share

Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Zhou Yuxiao says his government will not side with any political party during this year’s tripartite elections.

But his country will continue working with the government of day.

Ambassador Zhou says the Chinese government and its representatives in African countries will not be involved in politics but work with the governments of the day to enhance development.

Ambassador Zhou says the Chinese government believes in peaceful and democratic elections and respects the wishes of the Zambian citizens.

Ambassador Zhou says Chinese investors will continue to be none partisan in Zambia and will continue to render support to the government of the day.

And Ambassador says Chinese investors who violet Zambian labour laws will face deportation.

He says his government does not support the violation of laws and will continue to engage all Chinese people coming to Zambia to abide by the labour laws of the country.

He, however, observes that Chinese companies prefer using their labour force due to the low cost and effectiveness.

  1. You better behave that way. Hope you are not saying so because of fear for PF and Sata. Last time ur choncholi men increased salaries for Zambian workers in Ndola a few days before elections but later withdrew upon hearing that RB has warn. Fu.lish investors.

  2. Chi sata should also avoid peddling in China-Taiwan issues. We should by all means be neutral and instead concetrate on our interests-gains from their development quest.

  3. The neutrality of foreign governments should go without saying – interesting therefore that the Ambassador found it necessary to comment on such a matter.

  4. China always takes a non hostile position when it comes to its international affairs. They do not like getting involved in the internal affairs of any country. This is what is getting them the access to the raw materials they desperately need to keep their thriving economy ticking

  5. When the Arab north was bombing the Christian (Black) south in Sudan, China chose to look the other way because they did not want to jeopardize their petroleum deal with the Sudanese govt. It is the U.S. that put pressure on the Sudanese govt. Trees that are more than 500yrs old in Madagascar are being logged at an alarming rate by Chinese businesses. It is the west that is protesting such wastefulness of this national treasure. Today, China is still the hero on the African continent. Even pirates in Somali are wiser to stay away from Chinese ships (you will not receive any mercy from the Chinese as you would from other countries” ships). Do Africans really know who the Chinese are?
