Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) deputy national secretary Chembe Nyangu has dismissed remarks by former deputy minister of finance Dan Pule that the people of Luapula have decided to vote for the Patriotic Front (PF).
Mr Nyangu said in an interview on Tuesday that Zambians have no confidence in Pastor Pule of Dunamis Christian Centre because he has no credibility left in him.
“Most Zambians consider Mr Pule as a joker. Which sane Zambian can believe in Dan Pule when everyone is questioning his credibility?” he asked.
Mr Nyangu said the ruling party has made remarkable inroads in Luapula Province because of the various development projects President Banda’s government has delivered.
He said Pastor Pule should stop bringing the name of his church into contempt and ridicule as he has done before.
“Let him concentrate on recreating his image which is so dented in the eyes of right thinking members of society. I thought he knew what the general public think of him,” Mr Nyangu said.
Mr Nyangu also said some sections of the private media have become so desperate, and are parading discredited people as sources of information.
“Journalists should choose their sources of information. Surely can Pastor Pule be considered a credible source?” he asked.
Mr Nyangu said he was not very surprised with Pastor Pule’s support for the PF because he has something in common with the party, a record of wishing misfortune on other people.
“Birds of the same feather flock together. So we are not surprised with Dan Pule’s support for the P F They have something in common and that is inconsistency,” he said.
Mr Nyangu wondered who was more credible between Pastor Pule and their royal highnesses from Luapula Province who recently declared support for the MMD and President Banda.
Pastor Pule was quoted in Monday’s Post Newspaper as saying the people of Luapula have already made up their minds to vote for the PF.

The kind of people attracted to PF cause worry to hardcore PF members in a strange kind of way. One can sense some uneasiness in the comments above. Not knowing whether to be happy or sad. I had an opportunity to interact with some of the drivers he worked with while he was Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Finance. Each time he was travelling out of station with a driver, he would demand that he carries the imprest for the driver as well because he may start misbehaving with the money. He would also be controlling the driver on what speed to drive at as they travel. With office imprest to buy groceries for his office in case of visitors, once the secretary buys these for the office, Dan pule would carry everything home. And this is not a joke but a true story for this percived man of God. One time he differed with one of the drivers, he grabbed the vehicle from the driver and left the driver on the way. Amen
Pule, like anybody else may have transgressed and iz certainly not a perfect man, but when he speaks politics, the MMD would do well not to take him for a joker.
I was watching the last PF rally in 2008 before elections. Dan Pule was one of the guest speakers at that rally but alas, what came out of him is not worthy mentioning at this blog.
At times I tend to question the IQ of these tribal cousins of mine. To be frank , I have worked with a lot of them and even at office level their decisions are very irrational.

The question MMD must have addressed is whether they have support in Luapula or Not, without insulting Pule. Spare-some-tears: You missed my point. I’m not PF nor do I support MMD. But I think this Nyangu failed to deal with the issue raised by Pule over PF’s popularity in Luapula. Why attack his private life, when he has failed to attack those in his own party? Nyangu should have discussed the issue at hand as opposed to assassinating the character of Pule. Pule didn’t claim to be righteous in this message nor did he attack Nyangu. Nyangu should learn to discuss issues not personalities. That is cheap politics.

We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, no none is righteous, everyone has skeletons in their closets, the fact that Dan Pule’s skeletons fell apart does not mean that he is the most immoral politician in the Zambian political circles today. Let him who has not sinned throw the first stone, despite his failure, Pule may have a point and has his opinion just like many other immoral politicians that people listen to when they say something that suits their hearing.
