Ms Isaac said in a statement to ZNBC News that each aspiring Presidential candidate is required to pay a non refundable nomination fee of K10 million.

Each candidate shall also be expected to carry 200 supporters who are registered voters in any constituency.

Parliamentary nominations will be conducted at the respective constituency centers before a returning officer.

Ms Isaacs said that parliamentary candidates shall also be required to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of K500 000.

The aspiring candidates shall also be required to be accompanied by 9 supporters who are registered voters in the respective constituencies.

Local government aspiring candidates for city councils will pay a non-refundable nomination fee of K100 000

And several Political Parties have welcomed the announcement of dates for filing nomination by the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ.

Mr. Magande said that his party is ready for Parliamentary and Local Government nominations.

And UPND Spokesperson, Charles Kakoma said that his party is happy with the nomination dates.

Mr Milupi said that his party will release the names of adopted candidates next week.

And MMD National Secretary Major Richard Kachingwe has expressed happiness that Electoral Commission of Zambia has finally announced the nomination dates.

  1. PF caught napping. Dr. Scott trying to save face. They don’t even have a parliamentary list. PF is feeling the heat and they are panicking.

MMD is winning with a landslide.

  2. GREAT NEWS,ECZ SATA WILL BE COMING ON 7 TH AUGUST WITH A BIG FORCE 5000 OR MORE SUPPORTERS WILL BE JOINING HIM WHEN FILLING UP HIS NOMINATION FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

  3. I hope by then Sata would have finished hand picking the parliamentary candidates. And i also hope they will have some change left after paying Sata 100 Million Kwacha.

    • How have you arrived at K100 Million? I thought its suppose to be K10 Million for filing in nomination as stated by ECZ! Please stop misleading and be a serious blogger and state figures as they unfold.

  4. it is time to ride the country of these bussinessmen masqurading as leaders. It is time to show what our wealth is worth to Zambia. The under MMD cover precious stones endowment of mother Zambia will contribute billions to our country instead of the situation now which is like we do not have them. Zambia is rich in gold, uranium, cobalt and many more, but these have been actioned off for the benifit of individuals. Right now South Africa benifits more from our gameparks, because MMD individuals get cuts allover the place. They are short sighted theives filling their pockets, they are not leaders, yes they are good bussinessmen, but we do not need bussinesmen as national leaders.

  5. Hello LT. It is supposed to read: “…filing in of nominations”. Candidates are called upon to file in their nominations.

  6. 10 million then I will just file in for Presient. Rupiahi resign coz you breached the constitutionto keep me hovt when I am not an zMP.:)>need 200 registered bloggers-

  7. RB is the last person over 65 years to be voted into office as President this century. I challenge any kaponya to start an insulting concert with this posting. By any means at 65 years someone’s best is off shelf.

  8. HH with all his degrees did not see this one coming. He is completely in a panick to pick candidates, He has no candidates. RB is relaxing and Sata is also p-anicking without candidates for the elections. By the time they adopt candidates MMD will have one most of the seats.

  9. Whe PF nominates its candidates this week, i hope RB will not be childish like Mr Sata to claim to have forced them to make nominations since he set the date.

  10. NO # 12 no need of insulting our mothers they went to school and qualify to be employed in those positions moreover if DORA resigns today to join your party you start praising her.Stick to issues please

  11. This is the year of Real Change with real positive minded team, Upnd & HH. We are more than ready for Zambia’s true transformation with economically transformed people. No more fully depreciated, tired, recycled, selfish & undemocratic folks. In unison, we are ready for real change, we no longer want to be used by the so- called experinced yet very useless politicians. Best Zambians for the best Zambia, positive & strong willed minds, for a positive & strong willed change. Forwar ever, viva 20HH.

  12. I meant forward ever, its only throuth the people of Zambia that change can be a dream come true. Let us use our vote wisely beyond our regional barriers for a better Zambia. Remember one Zambia one Nation, with one vision & that is economical liberation. May God continue blessing Zambia.

  13. Dr.Guy Scot told sata that, sir don’t waste your time to put candidates in southern, north-western, parts of western province apart from three, Imbwe, Inonge and Mututwa. central also the same. The PF must consolidate the areas we are popular already otherwise, we have no chance of defeating UPND in these areas. UPND will have near total of 50 or above MPs. The projected elections results are follows southern 22 MPs, Western = 10 MPs, North-western =11 and could be higher than that, Lusaka 4 MPs and Central 12 Mps. However, the figure may change towards the election day, UPND is mostly likely to win back its seats lost to MMD in 2006 elections. PF and MMD may share some seats from Lusaka, copperbelt, Luapula and northern provinces.

  14. The so called Ms. Priscilla Isaacs does not look capable to hold the position of Director ECZ. I they need someone who has the charisma.

  15. @20, keep your opinion to yourself, we are quite happy with Ms Priscilla Isaacs and we have every confidence in her capacity to handle the job. As for charisma, please remember that she is the ECZ Director for Elections and not the president of PF. For the position of Director we require an educated and analytical person with reasoning powers, for the position of PF president you guys can choose anything who cares?

  16. If nomination fees are as low like that, why was SATA asking for K100m from those who want to stand as parliamentary candidates in PF? No one has refuted those allegations from PF so we take that it was true revelation by those concerned in PF.

  17. I was a staunch supporter of PF and Mr. Sata but after reading the lead story of the Post today on the nationality of Mr. Bwezani Banda, I realised the cobra is really a clown. Election dates are set and all he talks about are irrelevancies instead of selling the PF to the electrorate on what the PF intends to do. He thinks this is a muppet show. The game is on get serious you clown. It is known fact that Mr. Banda is standing so do not waste or time on childish games. What a President.

Zambia Police sources disclosed the arrest of the woman of Kanakantapa area whose details have been withheld in order not to jeorpadize investigations.

  19. RB confered with honoray doctorate degree

The Rusangu University formerly called Zambia Adventist University (ZAU) has
conferred on President Rupiah Banda an honorary Doctorate Degree in political Science.
Making the announcement of President Banda’s new title Sunday during the Fifth Rusangu University graduation ceremony, University Vice Chancellor Professor Mutuku Mutinga said President Banda had contributed greatly to the economic and political development of the country.

  20. Zambia is now qualified to be among the middle income countries which would have taken 30 years but because of his brilliant leadership has managed this in few years and that can only be achieved with a visionary leadership.

Looking at the hard work to better the livelihood of the people the senate have this day agreed to confer you
with a honorary Doctorate in political science, and from this day you are now called Dr. Rupiah Bwezani Banda,” said Prof Mutinga.

And accepting the new status of Doctor, President Banda said that there are many Universities across the world that wanted to confer him with an honorary Doctorate Degree.

  21. I am a proud man and as a President I will accept this Honorary Doctorate Degree from my own local university, I will receive it with honor because this is the first university locally to confer a head of state with a honorary Doctorate degree of political science and I will use it with honor because of my works,” said President Banda.

  22. #24 I heard RB is a bloodsucking alien from Mars. Nobody is refuting it!!!!! Therefore it must be true!!!!! I d i o t

  23. Anyway LT this point of grammar comes every time there is an election. It is not “filing in of nominations” or “filling in of nominations” it is “filing of nominations”. The nominations are filed, chapwa. Kulibe “in”
