Late second Republican President, Dr. Frederick Chiluba’s widow Regina has disclosed that her late husband never left a will.
In a statement through, second Republican President’s spokesperson, Emmanuel Mwamba, Mrs. Chiluba says all of Dr Chiluba’s lawyers say the late never left a written will.
And Mrs. Chiluba says legal action being instigated by some of Dr Chiluba’s children has saddened the family.
In an exclusive interview with MUVI TV, Mrs. Chiluba says the children are being requested to withdraw the court submission as it’s an irregular move bringing the family name in to ridicule.
Late Second Republican President Dr. Frederick Chiluba’s Children are seeking an injunction from the Lusaka High court to restrain Regina Chiluba from administering Dr. Chiluba’s estate.
Helen Ngosa Chiluba and Darling Ngosa Chiluba, who are late Dr. Chiluba’s biological children, are suing on behalf of their siblings, Jane, Mikoyandi, Hotercia, Hulda, Verocia and Frederick Junior.
According to an affidavit filed in the Lusaka High court on Thursday 4th August 2011, Dr. Chiluba’s children became suspicious and disturbed by Regina’s alleged premature and hasty decision to secure letters of administration.

It difficult to accept that FTJ did not leave a will especially that he was constantly in and out of hospital during the last days. However, guidelines are there on how the property should be share among of family members. The only problem is how to identify his Katundu since most of them were registered in other people’s names.

FTJ has a lot of properties in Brussels, Kitwe (parklands) and Lusaka (Naser road flats). The problem is the properties were registered in other peoples names and crooks have taken over. FTJ never used his name cause LPMwanawasa was determined to grab everything off him. Now the people or names FTJ used BY included have connived to get the properties at the expense of FTJ’s children. The problem is Crooks (BY included) cant reveal the properties FTJ left cause the man was denyin that he had properties and tu ma fake pastors who were praising FTJ would be shocked to know how much the man plundered from US.
Usually it is broken down as follows: 20%= Widow, 50%= Children , 20%= Parents to the deceased and 10%= dependants. And since FTJ was not officially divorced with Vera, she will be entitled to the 20% and Regina = 0
This is the problem with having lazy children. They wait for you to die trhen start fighting. These chaps are over 25 years of age and to this day they cannot get their own act together. legally, Regina is the surviving spouse and only children below the age of 21 would complain. Its sad that there was no will left, however there are other provisios of the law that can guide the families involved. For example, we have the Interstate Act which can be used. It is folly for the children to want to sideline Mrs Regina Chiluba. They must not forget that she is the surviving spouse and there are provisions in the law that stipulate how to treat the estate of the diceased with a surviving spouse. Rushing to court may just disadvantage the children, and why become enemies when the man is gone? The families need to sit down and agree. This is no time for greed. You should do what Chiluba would have done if he were alive to share the property among his family. We expect the children to exercise maturity and not to be influenced by any selfish external forces.

The plea of the children is right. lets look at the issue properly here. The Children are against REGINA BEING THE ADMINISTRATOR. whether will or no will, money or no money, they feel that fairness may be compromized considering that she is their step mother and an interested party all together. Going by Regina’s behavior,that is, starting from the way she rejected Mr.Mwanza;the way she married FTJ;her conduct when with the late;her behavior during her court cases;her journey to the Copperbelt the day FTJ died and finally not just the stupid manner but the rush to make herself the Administrator leaves much for speculation.I strongly not only suspect but believe Regina had a hand in the death of Dr.Chiluba.
