President Rupiah Banda Bids Farewell to Zambians

Share

President Rupiah Banda

I HAVE CALLED THIS PRESS CONFERENCE TO SAY A FEW WORDS. THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN OF 2011 IS OVER. THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA HAVE SPOKEN AND WE MUST ALL LISTEN. SOME WILL BE HAPPY WITH WHAT THEY HAVE HEARD, OTHERS WILL NOT.

THE TIME NOW IS FOR MATURITY, FOR COMPOSURE AND FOR COMPASSION. TO THE VICTORS, I SAY THIS: YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CELEBRATE BUT DO SO WITH A MAGNANIMOUS HEART. ENJOY THE HOUR BUT REMEMBER THAT A TERM OF GOVERNMENT IS FOR YEARS.

REMEMBER THAT THE NEXT ELECTION WILL JUDGE YOU ALSO.
TREAT THOSE WHO YOU HAVE VANQUISHED WITH THE RESPECT AND HUMILITY THAT YOU WOULD EXPECT IN YOUR OWN HOUR OF DEFEAT.

I KNOW THAT ALL ZAMBIANS WILL EXPECT SUCH BEHAVIOUR AND I HOPE IT WILL BE DELIVERED. SPEAKING FOR MYSELF AND MY PARTY, WE WILL ACCEPT THE RESULTS. WE ARE A DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND WE KNOW NO OTHER WAY.

IT IS NOT FOR US TO DENY THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE. WE NEVER RIGGED, WE NEVER CHEATED, WE NEVER KNOWINGLY ABUSED STATE FUNDS. WE SIMPLY DID WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS BEST FOR ZAMBIA. I HOPE THE NEXT GOVERNMENT WILL ACT LIKEWISE IN YEARS TO COME.

ZAMBIA DESERVES A DECENT DEMOCRATIC PROCESS. INDEED, ZAMBIA MUST BUILD ON HER PAST VICTORIES. OUR INDEPENDENCE WAS HARD WON, OUR DEMOCRACY SECURED WITH BLOOD.

ZAMBIA MUST NOT GO BACKWARDS, WE MUST ALL FACE THE FUTURE AND GO FORWARD AS ONE NATION. NOT TO DO SO WOULD DISHONOUR OUR HISTORY.

TO MY PARTY, TO THE MMD CANDIDATES WHO DID NOT WIN, THE LESSON IS SIMPLE. NEXT TIME WE MUST TRY HARDER.
WE FOUGHT A GOOD CAMPAIGN. IT WAS DISCIPLINED. I STILL BELIEVE WE HAD A GOOD MESSAGE AND WE REACHED EVERY PART OF THE COUNTRY.

WE TRAVELLED TO ALL NINE PROVINCES AND WE SPOKE TO ALL ZAMBIANS. TO THOSE WHO WORKED EVERY HOUR OF THE DAY, I SAY ‘THANK YOU’. YOU HAVE DONE YOUR BEST. BUT, SADLY, SOMETIMES OUR BEST IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

DO NOT BE DISHEARTENED. THE MMD WILL BE BACK. WE MUST ALL FACE THE REALITY THAT SOMETIMES IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE. SINCE 1991, THE MMD HAS BEEN IN POWER. I BELIEVE WE HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB ON BEHALF OF ALL ZAMBIANS.

FREDERICK CHILUBA LED US TO A GENUINE MULTI-PARTY STATE AND INTRODUCED THE PRIVATE SECTOR TO OUR KEY INDUSTRIES. ZAMBIA WAS LIBERATED BY AN MMD IDEAL BUT MAYBE WE BECAME COMPLACENT WITH OUR IDEALS. MAYBE WE DID NOT LISTEN, MAYBE WE DID NOT HEAR.

DID WE BECOME GREY AND LACKING IN IDEAS? DID WE LOSE MOMENTUM? OUR DUTY NOW IS TO GO AWAY AND REFLECT ON ANY MISTAKES WE MAY HAVE MADE AND LEARN FROM THEM. IF WE DO NOT, WE DO NOT DESERVE TO CONTEST POWER AGAIN.

THE ZAMBIA WE KNOW TODAY WAS BUILT BY AN MMD GOVERNMENT. WE KNOW OUR PLACE IN HISTORY AND WE KNOW THAT WE CAN COME BACK TO LEAD AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. A NEW LEADERSHIP WILL BE CHOSEN, AND THAT LEADERSHIP WILL BE FROM THE YOUNGER GENERATION.

MY GENERATION… THE GENERATION OF THE INDEPENDENCE STRUGGLE– MUST NOW GIVE WAY TO NEW IDEAS; IDEAS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY. FROM THIS DEFEAT, A NEW, YOUNGER MMD WILL BE RE-BORN. IF I CAN SERVE THAT RE-BUILDING, THEN I WILL.

I MUST THANK MY CABINET FOR DELIVERING ON OUR PROMISES. WE DID A LOT OF GOOD FOR ZAMBIA. MANY OF OUR PROJECTS WILL BLOSSOM INTO BRIGHT FLOWERS. SOME OF YOU WILL BE BACK TO SERVE ZAMBIA AGAIN – I KNOW YOU WILL DO YOUR BEST FOR YOUR PARTY AND FOR YOUR COUNTRY.
TO THE CIVIL SERVANTS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, IT HAS BEEN A PRIVILEGE TO SERVE WITH YOU. WE HAVE WORKED MANY LONG HOURS TOGETHER. WE DID IT NOT FOR OURSELVES BUT FOR ZAMBIA. SERVE YOUR NEXT MASTERS AS YOU DID ME, AND ZAMBIA WILL BE IN GOOD HANDS.

I MUST THANK MY FAMILY AND MY WIFE. THEY HAVE STOOD BY ME AND I CANNOT ASK FOR MORE LOYALTY THAN THAT WHICH THEY HAVE DISPLAYED. I LOVE YOU ALL DEARLY AND I WILL ALWAYS BE IN YOUR DEBT.

BEING PRESIDENT IS HARD WORK, IT TAKES LONG HOURS OF WORK. AND BECAUSE OF IT, I HAVE NOT ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR YOU. YET, STILL YOU WERE THERE FOR ME.

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS THE DEPTH OF MY LOVE FOR YOU ALL. ALL I ASK IS THAT MY FAMILY CONTINUES TO SERVE ZAMBIA AS I HAVE SOUGHT TO DO.

BUT MY GREATEST THANKS MUST GO TO THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE. WE MAY BE A SMALL COUNTRY ON THE MIDDLE OF AFRICA BUT WE ARE A GREAT NATION. SERVING YOU HAS BEEN A PLEASURE AND AN HONOUR. I WISH I COULD HAVE DONE MORE, I WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO GIVE.

OUR POTENTIAL IS GREAT. OUR RESOURCES ARE IMPRESSIVE.
I URGE YOU ALL NOW TO RALLY BEHIND YOUR NEW PRESIDENT.
YES, WE MAY HAVE DIFFERENT IDEAS BUT WE BOTH WANT THE SAME THING – A BETTER ZAMBIA.

NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR VIOLENCE AND RETRIBUTION.
NOW IS THE TIME TO UNITE AND BUILD TOMORROW’S ZAMBIA TOGETHER. ONLY BY WORKING TOGETHER CAN WE ACHIEVE A MORE PROSPEROUS ZAMBIA.

IN MY YEARS OF RETIREMENT, I HOPE TO WATCH ZAMBIA GROW. I GENUINELY WANT ZAMBIA TO FLOURISH. WE SHOULD ALL WANT ZAMBIA TO FLOURISH. SO, I CONGRATULATE MICHAEL SATA ON HIS VICTORY.

I HAVE NO ILL FEELING IN MY HEART, THERE IS NO MALICE IN MY WORDS. I WISH HIM WELL IN HIS YEARS AS PRESIDENT.
I PRAY HIS POLICIES WILL BEAR FRUIT.

BUT NOW IT IS TIME FOR ME TO STEP ASIDE. NOW IS THE TIME FOR A NEW LEADER. MY TIME IS DONE. IT IS TIME FOR ME TO SAY ‘GOOD BYE’.

MAY GOD WATCH OVER THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE AND MAY HE BLESS OUR BEAUTIFUL NATION.

I THANK YOU.

  1. New revelation: Zambian watchdog is a ‘dying’ MMD Vuvuzela. Instead of being objective as a media body, their editor has snapped and is showing his true colours with the story “President Sata and the nonsense he is bringing” PLEASE BOYCOTT WATCHDOG WHICH IS WISHING ZAMBIA DOOM WITH ITS DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVT.

  2. well done RB taking it like a man thats the sign of a great man i defeat , democracy is triumphant! Mr. Sata its your turn now make us proud

    • You may insult a man as old as your father but because you have not respect you will insult sata one day if he does not meet your aspirations.what you re insulting is recorded in heaven. You are a fool and you deserve to die young stupid *****.

  3. ”IT IS NOT FOR US TO DENY THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE. WE NEVER RIGGED, WE NEVER CHEATED, WE NEVER KNOWINGLY ABUSED STATE FUNDS. WE SIMPLY DID WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS BEST FOR ZAMBIA. I HOPE THE NEXT GOVERNMENT WILL ACT LIKEWISE IN YEARS TO COME” Come on RB did you investigate yourself? Maybe you unknowingly abused state fund and you evidently abused state media.. But do not fear the unknown. No one will bother you if you are clean, but the law will follow you if you are dirty. Meanwhile go and wipe your bloody nose after a good bout with a punch drunk boxer- that is what you said…

  4. We need our money back, RP capital, Roads contracts, Mines secret accounts. Since igonrance is no defence we will make you knw and asnwer the charges. The barotse killings, you will answer!

  5. I hope Sata realise that he has a lot of *****S following him like like #1 and #7 . He will need to reign in these I D I O T S if his presidency is to last and if he to build an enduring legacy.

This is a great speech coming from RB and as Zambians we should walk with our head high and be proud of people like KK and RB who concede defeat when the people have spoken. How many countries can be proud of that record, and I pray PF does not dent this excellent record set by these two great leaders from the Independence era.

I think the next election will even be great and I expect a young MMD to emerge and PF better not get drunk with today. This is Zambia

    • Congratulations Mr Sata, I was in Zambia last year and saw the need for you to win. Now you have. Please save this speech though. Mr. Banda makes salient and excellent points worth remembering.
Zambians should have the right to expect the best from their leaders and when the leaders fail to deliver, new ones must be installed. But remember, you jubilant Sata supporters, that Zambia’s success as a democracy depends on your willingness and ability to work with the very people you were recently in bitter struggle against. Let the fight go, it’s time to get to work and make Zambia better for all Zambians.
Look back at the past four presidents. Each in his own way did something good for Zambia, yet each had his flaw. When Zambians perceived the flaw outweighed the good, he had to go. Peace!

  6. Prophets of doom!!….BRAVO PF, BRAVO SATA…Now Where is William Banda,  Edwin Lifwelelo, Gregory Chifire, Rev David Masupa-the opportunist pastor, Rev. Chihana-fake pastor, Edward Mumbi-the opportunist , Chanda chimba III, William Banda, Dora Siliya, reverend Moses lungu ,(fake) of the so  called Evangelical Youth Alliance International, Rev. Peter Ndhlovu BIGOCA, AND NOW George Kunda what legal legacy can you be remembered for? Your time has come-you missed an opportunity to leave a GREAT LEGACY for ZAMBIA -A NEW CONSTITUTION,what a shame!!!! Now your own legal medicine will catch up with you-changing the ANTI-CORRUPTION ACT-clause 37 and cheating zambians with a NEW CONSTITUTION was an abomination,Thieves!!

  7. NO NO NO NO, RB needs to explain the Zamtel,Finance bank and many other deals. Teaching somebody a lesson will lead as an example to others. We need to remember that politicians are voted in to serve the people and not to enrich themselves. Shame on you RB!!

  8. Well said President Banda. I knew your potential was in your exit speech. If you did everything like you did your exit speech,Zambia would be different. You put passion in your speech because you know that now its retirement and so other people have to take care of you but guess what most Zambians have the same hope from childhood but the MMD came and gave us that hope and pissed on it.

  9. The letter reeks of regret and realisation that it’s over. Why defend yourself about something you know you are innocent of unless you are probably not innocent.

  10. The Kimbanguist. Blimey! You smashed it! Nothing to say any more. Why is the ***** talking about funds? Lets wait and hear what our President says. But he promised he was going to ask a few questions. Unless this ***** goes back to his country and, takes William Banda with him, he has a few questions to answer.

  11. RB very mature speech. Go well and make yourself available for consultations and other national duties. MCS, I urge you to ensure that you appoint only hard working people into your cabinet. These are the people who will ensure that PF wins the next election again. UNIP ruled for 27 yrs and MMD ruled for 20 yrs. It will be a big shame if PF rules for only 5 or 10 yrs. It is performance that counts.

  12. Good speach and thank you for accepting defeat, something rare in africa. The mmd must rebuild by ushering in new blood and they should offer credible opposition.Good luck to the Pf government.Theres 2.5 billion dollars in the reserve bank!Dont plunder it!We will be watching you H.E M.C SATA.GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  13. THESE ARE WORDS OF WISDOME. MAY THE ALMIGHT GOD BLESS YOU MR. PRESIDENT (RB) AND MAY HE ALSO BLESS THE INCOMING PRESIDENT (M C SATA).
INDEED ZAMBIA IS A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY AND MAY GOD CONTINUE BLESSING OUR COUNTRY ZAMBIA.

WE HAVE TRULY SHOWN THE WORLD THAT WE PEACIFUL PEOPLE.
    I LOVE BEEN ZAMBIAN.

  14. Wonderful speech from RB. He accepted defeat and also congratulated, his exellency President Sata. MMD fans would definitely be in tears after reading this speech. HATS OF TO RUPIAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. The MMD government should be made accountable for all their actions whether they were done knowingly or unknowingly. Doing things unknowingly is not an excuse. RB, Dora, and the eastern mafias the law is about to knock on your doors!

  16. Never again will we be led by a clique of Malawian mafiosos. Your time is up and indeed good-bye and never come back. To us Zambians I say, let no other foreigner take charge of Zambia ever again. From Michael Sata we shall build our own new leader to lead this great nation. There’s a sayng; Certain people bring happiness when they come yet, some bring even more happiness when they leave, bretheren…

  17. You may say goodbye but we are not finished with you. It’s not about retribution, it is about you accounting for all the money you stole and the abuse of office during your 3 short years in office. You don’t seem to realise how much you are implicating yourself in your so called farewell speech. Sooner rather than later you and your accomplices will be caged.

  18. at least we know zambia won’t turning in another ivory coast RB has been very mature about this he has his short comings but thats how you live office thank god i was born zambian and not Zimbabwean …idoits like 1, 7, 10 , 11 ,25  would incite violence …..the day will come when all the corruption charges with the previous government will be investigated bt. in the mean time enjoy the victory

  19. Great speech Ba Banda….. forgive all those words we might have uttered in anger, Politics is but an arena difficulty to avoid brushing each other’s nerves, enjoy your rest….. Viva PF….. Viva Sata and congrats…. God’s speed

  20. This is a beautiful and matured speech.. I got touched there for a moment. And yes, there is a time for everything…Maybe MMD will be back, with new ideas, with fresh innovative and focused leadership, maybe we will embrace it.. and maybe this is the end. How I wish this is how you talked when you were president, if this is how you addressed the nation instead of insulting the opposition…maybe you would have won..After all is said and done. there is no bitterness in my heart, there is no regret that the people of Zambia opted for change..and like you started this race young..let new leaders arise and start like you did to take Zambia forward. Farewell old man!…Again, well done to Dickson Jere for writing such a speech, big fan!. Very deep and Very personal!

  21. This guys who have commented are over confident. We’ll see what Mr Sata can do. If he doesn’t do anything then he will also get the same send off in 2016, that RB did today.

  22. One seventy something yr old is going into retirement, let us retire the next one after five yrs. I wonder why we should be led by very old characters when thye the youths are the majority votes, we need to start supporting one another. Let us also retire parliamentarians who have served more than two terms, no more personal-to-holder positions. We the Zambian should now be in charge of our country and demand service delivery with more money in our pockets as promised.

  23. thanx mr presidnets you did your best all we r just humans we are not perfect. for the incoming president congruates as you take Zambia forwad!

  24. F**k off you lazy, fat crooked, good for nothing child molesting and thieving G*t. We now need to investigate your dubious dealings with your crooked children and dirty Dollar C_liar.

  25. Well said Mr president and goobye. I wholeheartedly congratulate Mr Sata for his ascendance to the Presidency of this great nation. Love him or hate him, his is a good lesson of inspiration to all of us. Never, never just give up while you can still wake up every morning. If Sata will live long to write his memoirs I am sure he will tell us that he had always wanted to be president from the time he was a politician. To achieve that in the manner he has is just incredible to say the least.

  26. BIG UP TO MEEMBE FOR STANDING STRONG FOR DEMOCRACY AND THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA. MEDIA OPRESSION HAS BEEN SQUASHED. HE IS A TRUE PATROTIC ZAMBIAN.

  27. Why is this ***** saying we never knowingly abused state funds when he has not even been asked?

Any of you remember eating sugar and mother suddenly pops in and you go like hm hm? I think there questions to be asked. here.

  28. People of Zambia, when will u ever appreciate someone when the die.We just had a peaceful, free election we all thot MMD would rig but now that it didnt happen we trying to look for faults in RB.He has come out clean conceded defeat it’s not easy but he did it all for his love of Zambia.Let the courts of law deal with him if he is dirty

  29. #53. Mr Jere Sorry you are going with your president. Look, all I am saying is why is he saying you never knowingly abused state funds when he has not even been asked?

I know you are still hurting but chill girl pants. Hope you stole enough to see you through. But when the net comes be ready mug boy!

  30. Don’t take away the words of wisdom he has spoken in his farewell speech. He is a mere mortal who, like anyone else, is not perfect. He did his best, or so we thought, and his time, like everything in this world, is up. Yes, if he is guilty of any offence committed while in office, the law will visit him no doubt if there is evidence. The challenge now lies with the in-coming president Sata. I am MMD but pipo have spoken, so its all good. So, congrats on your election to the office you have always aspired for. The task is gigantic but i believe pipo have shown confidence in you that you can deliver on your promises. Select a good team to work with towards emancipating Zambia economically the way you see fit. But don’t entertain BAKANDILE. They will ruin your vision. Stay focused. Cheers!

  31. Ala Bee for Zambia. Holding peaceful elections is in the cnstitution in case you didn`t know. Did you want him to do a erm Gbagbo? Who is he? Reason I have been calling for the president`s powers to be cut.

He has no right to do what he even did the last 24 hours. Now work it out you *****!

  33. Rupiah Bwezani Banda, the Best president Zambia has ever had. Not only did he deliver unprecedented levels of development, he was truly a president of all Zambians and strived to bring development to all corners of the nation. We shall miss you and wish you all the best in your future.

We shall offer checks and balances to the new govt. We shall not be restless and make sure the new govt delivers on their promises. We shall hit them hard and make sure they do not mess up nor betray the Zambian people. We shall be vigilant because Zambia is for all of us and it is our duty not to frustrate the efforts of the new govt but to make sure they succeed because Zambia is our home.

  36. PIPO , RB HAD NO OTHER WAY THAN TO CONSIDE DEFEAT. HE TRIED EVERYTHINGS HE KNOWS BUT DIDN’T WORK. HE TURNED ZNBC INTO STATE HOUSE TV, HE BROT BUJUS FRM ZIMBABWE, HE TRIED TO RIG BUT ZAMBIANS WERE TOO ALERT.
HE HAS DISPATCHED HIS WIFE TO ZIMBABWE, AND HIS ELDER CHILDREN TO DRC.

  37. Big pipe & Soros-where are u at? Yo man is already telling the nation about unknowingly abused funds…WE SIMPLY DID WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS BEST FOR ZAMBIA…..Icilufumo if u did your history well u will recall that whatever HITLER did ,he THOUGHT it was the best for Germany. We wanted a leader who KNOWS whats  best for our country not who thinks whats best for our country.Tas Force revival-wapya baisa

  45. WHERE IS KUNTE-FIMO FIMO SOKOLOKA MULUMENDO,…THE SPEECH TOO LONG AND BORING..HE IS STILL DOUBTING HIS LOSS.RB THATS HOW THE WORLD OPERATE,U THOT U WOULD LEAD FOR EVER,MMD IS AS GUD AS UNIP FROM NOW DONT EXPECT COMING BACK TO POWER NOT IN ZED.RELAX,DONT START CONFESSING YOUR MISTAKES JUST WAIT WE WILL COME FOR U,EVERY THING U DID WILL COME TO LIGHT.SO BYE BYE RB.WE WILL ALWAYZ REMEMBER YR EFFORTS!

  46. Oh yeah……you almost put us in problems by asking Judge Mambilima, (who even threaten to resign) to delay the announcement. Hey, I have to rush. Going for the inauguration

  47. Thanx Bwezani- ICABIPA MULANDU WAKULETA WEKA- Just co operate as you wanted others to when it was your turn.. WE WISH YOU A GOOD STAY IN ZAMBIA STILL!!!!!

  48. #43 Nelson It is better to be overconfident than underconfident about the future. There’s no need to put on a solemn face because this is a great momment in democracy. After 20 years of “the hour has come” for “multi-party democracy” Zambian people have decided to stop the clock and sail forward.

Of course some will frown, sigh heavily and shake their heads in despair as they leave office but the best thing to do is to shake hands and move on. I however do not condone the insults to RB because it is not right to kick a man when he is lying down defeated on the ground. But then again, at some point he felt lightly superior than is opponent Mr. Sata. I am not saying Sata is now the king of the world, I just love Zambia and I love democracy.

  49. Go well RB.You did your part and its others now to do their part. And just to borrow from your words, indeed will judge Sata’s perfomance in 2016.It may seem far but yet near so PF deliver or we will give you a bout in your ASS!

  50. What will we do with all that stolen cash…I wished my father had listened not to contest the 2011 polls. Now we will have to declare where all these riches have come from.

  51. Zambia is not Libya.Zambia is not Tunisia.Zambia is not Ivory Coast.Zambia is not Zimbabwe.Zambia is my country.Thank you RB.Congratulations H.E.Mr.M.C.Sata.

  52. touching speech, nearly brought tears to my eyes. I was never a supporter of RB and I lost confidence in MMD during the first half of FTJ’s second term. But now for honoring us may we honor you with the title of statesman. Let us wait and see what PF have in store if not good we shall shoot them with the ballot.. long live DEMOCRACY.

  53. The kwacha will continue to be vulnerable, at least until there’s clarity about what’s going to happen. Everybody is trying to see what Sata is really about.”Other factors weighing on the kwacha are a 17 percent decline in the last three weeks in the price of copper, which accounts for 80 percent of Zambia’s export revenue, and the more general global flight from risky emerging and frontier market assets.

  54. #83 Dust

Zambia is not Libya.Zambia is not Tunisia.Zambia is not Ivory Coast.Zambia is not Zimbabwe.Zambia is my country.Thank you RB.Congratulations H.E.Mr.M.C.Sata.

Great Post and we are off to reboot an young , vibrant and youthful MMD with a mighty force to reckon with and we have the best brains than all the other parties combined and ……

    WE WILL BE BACK

How about that …. Am told inauguration moved to a location which is closet to Kulima Tower to honour the legacy of the ruling party

  55. The Kwacha was always going to fall even if it was the SUGAR daddy wining. Why are the so called learned MMD and UPNB so numb? It happens every after an election you *****s! Jesus!

  56. “WE HAVE NOT KNOWINGLY ABUSED” is it possible to abuse and not know.Try another line RB that will not wash with the zambian people

  57. Unexpected has happened, as DORA & RB Thought they own Zambia. RB you have yourself to blame, you took Zambians for granted and thought you have won already?? Let other learn a lesson from this. DORA just resign those Insults for President SATA???? You are such a young Girl to be that rude to elders.
We thank the lord god almighty that these evil people have been removed from Power. Thank you to all PF voters and for standing up to our rights. We Zambians in the Diasporas are proud of you.
William Banda please just leave for Malawi. We don’t want people like you in our New Zambia.
Congruts President of the people?? H.E Michael Sata.

    • Well said, you sound very intelligent and mature. Dora messed on several occasions but was backed by Mr. Banda. Now that made her rude and lost respect of the elders

  58. I cant belive that message was prepared by Rupiah Banda. It sounded like an Angel from Heaven.I just hope he means what he has said. Any way he is defeated and a past president. Nafuti,Nafuti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shiiiii, donchi kubeba. Pabwato fye,.

  59. Indeed, its a new era… Mr Banda did what he could do best for our country. As for me I say he was a humble and fair leader who was surrounded by wrong people,we didnt experience deaths and blood shade in his term like in other governments. Its just unfortunately that Mr RB is a no match to Mr Sata. Mr Sata is a great politician who has been consistant through all govt ranks. I salute HE MC Sata.
Its power back to the people now…AMAKA

  60. Thank you Mr President for that good Farewell speech. I am glad to see that you are ready to let the youthful Zambians take over leadership from your generation. You have run your race and thank you very for the contribution to the well being of all Zambians.

  61. WE TRAVELED TO ALL NINE PROVINCES AND WE SPOKE TO ALL ZAMBIANS. you forget to say ‘we wasted unimaginable number of resources than any government’ Our time has come to pay back for all the fornication and extramarital intercourse we did with the minister of education.

    • im refering to post 83
Zambia is not Libya.Zambia is not Tunisia.Zambia is not Ivory Coast.Zambia is not Zimbabwe.Zambia is my country.Thank you RB.Congratulations H.E.Mr.M.C.Sata.

  62. im refering to post 83 Zambia is not Libya.Zambia is not Tunisia.Zambia is not Ivory Coast.Zambia is not Zimbabwe.Zambia is my country.Thank you RB.Congratulations H.E.Mr.M.C.Sata.

  63. You think Rupia has the capacity to prepare a speach like tha? The man was just too blind even to see beyond his nose.Too dull a man.

    • Mute  are you going to keep calling our president names? It’s not going well with me. Accept change Zambian have spoken! Thanks

  64. #64, Mr. Capitalist….;
If RB was the best ever Zambian President, how come then the Zambian people have booted him out only after a stay of three years? Fathom that out and may be, just may be, that will help you see reality!

  65. How many people in the world can form a political party in a garage and wrestle power from a sitting President with a strong political party within 10 years? MC Sata is the Steve Jobs of politics! He is a smart guy (with his side kick Guy Scott). These two guys have taught many Zambians what hard work mean. Rupiah Banda was dragged out of bed by Levy to become VP and was elected President out of sympathy for the death of Levy because Zambians had never experienced death of a current leader. Elias Chipimo should go to Sata for tutorials on political leadership. Elias Chipimo work hard, your are next on the podium. Miyanda look for another job, this one is not for you, try being a pirate taxi driver. HH you are an over inflatted ballon. Go back and milk you cows!!

  66. 90# MMD Chief Bootlicker. You are really trying had to console your self. Shikulu just pray that your JOB at the SA Embassy is secure. You look DOWN upon Zambians working for their money in SA. Now we have the last laugh , we still have jobs. We will make sure the new government change alot of personnel in foreign mission are recalled as they behave badly towards us the OWNERS of the country.

    • Mpika Boy #113 you are very correct. These people at Embassies, especially in Pretoria are very hopeless.I hope H.E Michael.C. Sata can do some changes swiftly

  67. Bwezani Banda, go well our FORMER president. You take it on the chin like a man. Nice speach though…very mature atleast you listened to your advisers for the last time. I wana listen to Sata speach….this set a tone for his president…i guess…but with King Cobra, a few suprises may just be around the corner…just to spice up the share….

  68. Thanks RB.
We shall meet at ‘Task Force On Corruption’ offices which our new President will institute soon to investigate corruption and abuses of power in your govt from 2008 to 2011- investigation will include the sale of Zamtel, Finance Bank, etc…

  69. Thanks so much RB and your family it has been good working with your government.i know you cant please everyone on this earth only God will reward you for everything you have done for people of zambia good or bad only God has the right to judge for no one can do everything right.its not easy to lead people even in times of moses it was the same peopls complain and insulted moses when he was leading them to the promised land.for those insulting RB should put themselves in his shoes if it were them were by no matter how good to try to do for the people they stil insult you.you can read the bible in the book of Exodus and see how un grateful a human being is. all the best you have my blessing.good lucky SATA you will feel the weight of leading people, hope you will find it easy as you thought

  70. As I enjoy my glass of Amber nectar, “Duvel”, reading all the comments, knowing very well that the good souls of Zed have yet again delivered a govt for the people by the people, led by one, Michael C Sata, aka KC {King cobra!!} one that has shown us all, never to give up on failing, the 1st, 2nd,3rd time, finally makes it 4th time – that’s what life is all about, have a dogged persistence about what you believe in!! All will come right in finality!! [PS: pass another glass of fine amber nectar!!] Now, where was I?? Never mind, talk of 90 days – MCS, leave the 90th day for rest, use the 89th to fire Mambilima, for she finally delivered for the zedians!! Prioritise Mr presido, 1st, deliver a constitution for the people; 2nd Renegotiate Mining contracts/Royalties/tax, 3rd get zed inves

  71. Iwe little mama, RB was a failure who protected thugs etc. how can you ignore the cries and opinions of the masses regarding Zamtel, Chiluba’s corruption cases etc?
back to your farm in Chipata.

  72. Oh Mr. Sata, Congratulations. Now this is the time we shall see if u will deliver ALL you promised. Ala you have a lot of work coz people have taken you to be their liberator. One that will put money in their pockets. Can only say all the best. To RB, fanatastic speech! Wish u well.

  73. They say a man’s last words mean much. Thanks for such words of wisdom that characterise who you are as you have displayed in accepting defeat without squabbles. You and Dr Kaunda will go down in Zambia’s history as the best presidents Zambia has ever had.

  74. If the comments on this blog are a reflection of the young future leaders RB is refering to, then the country is in trouble after all. Immature comments even after the campaign is over. What are you trying to achieve… shaming the losers?
This guy has given perhaps the greatest speech of his life, and he should be commended for conceding defeat and handing over power without bloodshed. Where else has this happened in Africa, other than in few other countries? Yes he had his own weaknesses but which leader doesn’t? Even the greatest leaders to grace this world, Madiba comes to mind, made mistakes. Right now the best we can do as a country is to commend RB and wish him luck in his future endeavours; and Congratulate the winner MCS and wish him luck as he takes this massive responsibility!

    • Italian Bunga to me is a work permit dependant, too dull to reason.I don’t talk with such people. Sata does not even know him so relax we are having God’s love pa zed.

  75. As for RB’s { i have now dropped the tag “RBish”} speech, obviously written for him by some speech writer who has obviously spent some worth while time trolling famous speeches & amalgamated them, has for surely done a decent job of it – paving for a smooth transition, it has obviously impressed with its reconciliatory & statesman tone – Donchi kubeba!!!!!!!! Donchi kubambila!!!!!!!!

  76. Congratulations Mr. Michael. C. Sata and all PF candidates that were elected into Parliament and councils. Please do your best to prove those who are still doubting wrong. I’m 100% sure, Mr. Sata will do his best to restore and help the under privileged Zambians. I really don’t know what Mr. HH is feeling now, sad, I guess.

  77. My President good speech coming from a man who is not selfish and loves his country.Forget about the *****s writing nonsense on this blog zambia shall definitely miss u.We shall c what their standard 4 has to offer. To u all *****s its not easy to accept defeat and handover power peacefully u r great man President Banda. Standard 4 with your beloved journalist fuledi we r watching u dont take us for a ride.

  78. No. 74: What best President? He commissioned anything that had new concrete. In fact ALL good projectes were started by Levy (MHSRIP). He was a dictator who even presided over on toilets in Wusakile when only two toilets had been completed. His only legacy is “HALF TERM PRESIDENT” in the history of ZED. Look how old he has grown??@!##

  79. RB had writen this speach on Monday already..lol. He spent three days correcting spelling mistakes and making copies…just in case the state-house computer and printer crash or are hanging on Friday… good boy RB…On the other hand Sata had written a victory speach on 2001, all he needs is to do is change the dates,…

  80. Such a corrupt man, he sold the country to the Chinese and pocketed the money himself. God will have his retribution on the person who has made Zambia one of the few countries to go backwards in terms of human development. Give back the money you looted, RB! :-w

  81. Thank you for speech am truly touched with the code of vocabulary used.
He did his time and gave his best for Zambia.
Lets wait and see what the new government brings in the next 5 years.
Zambia is a champion of democracy!!

  82. Love them or loathe them, but I have to say the black and white pictures of RB and VJ look fantastic. Old age is not good, who would have known these two gentlemen used to look this beautiful or should I say handsome. And it’s their composure, demeanor and coolness that carries the day for me.
As for RB speech, yes the majority of it was great but after reading it again… I have to say there are some unwanted sentences in there that taint it a little bit (mainly those where he seems to almost school the incoming winning Prez of what they should do). Otherwise it was a great speech overall – I need to watch it to observe his body language and the tone in his voice for me to appreciate it fully.

  83. Thanks Dr RB Banda, nice message and go well.

You did your very best I believe but this is time to move on. You are a gentleman RB. May God richly bless your future endeavors.

    Blessings to all Zambians.
    _
    Matt 6:33

  84. thats being a man your highness your responds shall be made to paper and your words shall be in history for life go on and show it to other how it is done.**==

  85. Where are all those pre-election opinion pollers who predicted Ala Bee would win ??? Please post a few things here. Show your faces you lying mother f u c k e r s

  86. “The people of Zambia have spoken and we must all listen,” Mr Banda told journalists, wiping away tears after finishing his speech – BBC.

  87. NOW HE LOOKS HUMBLE? INDEED YOU HAVE KISSED THE DUST!!!!!!!!!!
PLS DONT TELL OUR PRESIDENT WHAT TO DO.  HE IS PRINCIPLED AND HE ILL SURELY DO THE RIGHT THING. THE LAW WILL TAKE ITS COURSE.  IF GUILTY YOU WILL DANCE

  88. #110, I beg your pardon, We did experience experience death and bloodshed in Western, Luapula and Southern provinces carried out by police at the orders of Rupiah and to date he has not apologised.

    • All that has been forgotten! What a pity. The cheat us with the CRC were they stall billions of money with the payments being authorized by George Kunda. These chaps did so many bad things that people did not even accept, things like borrowing huge sums from china for those mobile hospitals on the expense of the Zambians!

  89. RB has done his best and as Zambians we just need to thank him, no reader even our knewly elected will do everything. but he will do what he can and at the end of the day others will be happy others will not be satisfied. so all the best to RB and may God bless him for whatever he did for mother zambia.

  90. IT IS ALWAYS THE CASE THAT PEOPLE REMEMBER THE IMPORTANCE OF CERTAIN ISSUES WHEN IT IS ALREADY TOO LATE. RUPIAH BANDA NEVER SPOKE OF SUCH WORDS WHEN HE WAS IN POWER, ALL THE TIME HE DID AS THE MMD WISHED, EVEN WHEN PEOPLE SPOKE AND REJECTED MANY THINGS THEY WERE DOING, HE KNOWINGLY AND WILLINGLY REFUSED TO HEED TO THE ADVICE FROM THE POOR ZAMBIAN. RB AND GK BEHAVED IN A MANNER THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN ANY SOCIETY, BUT THE HAD THE POWER TO ABUSE AND THREATEN FELLOW CITIZENS. NOW HE WANTS TO PORTRAY A GOOD PICTURE. WE CAN FORGIVE YOU RB AND YOUR SINS BUT WE CANNOT FORGET YOUR INSULTS YOU POURED ON THE CITIZENS WHEN THEY TRIED TO TALK TO YOU TO STOP THE SALE OF ZAMTEL, THE SALE OF FINANCE BANK WHICH WAS SOLD BARELY TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE ELECTION. MAY YOU GO IN PEACE MR BANDA!

  91. Nice speach bwana Nyama soya.Nice picture of your youth down there too.I didn`t know that you were once handsome.Anyway thank you too for hearing our cry.It is always painful to say bye even to a joker like you…but hey that is life. There is time for everything. My prayer is that you enjoy your retirement peacefully at that farm where Mwanawasa picked you up from.My wishes goes to your wife too…hope you will give her the sweet loving and attention she needs… you know it is when you have married a teenager.Cheers bakamba :)

  92. Accepting defeat! Before – Congrats KK, Now Congrats RB. You two have shown the way and Africa is proud of you.

  93. Mr Kanitundila is gone. The little naughty monkey did it for us, cursed him, the only president who was pissed on by a monkey. Shortest term president.

  94. Why do our old leaders always think of the new generation taking up position when they have failed? Chanda Chiimba the zero, where ur u?? We were not fools..

  95. Kavindele, Mwaanga, Sakwiba Sikota, BY you all got it wrong. people power. You went round the country de-campaigning Sata? tashichela mumo.

  96. RB has nothing to loss really. He is actually better off retiring as a former president. He will surely be living a comfortable life after. Good bye RB, Hallo and welcome Sata!

  97. #129, I hardly doubt a new constitution in 90 days and as for the 50+1, he didnt even win on a 50+1 so you can forget about that happening too and if those were his campaign promises then I doubt he will see them to fruition.

  98. I have published a booked called

    Kissing dust made simple

    Ala Bee

p/s: It is free to all those naive f o o l s who predicted I would win

  99. Very mature of our former President.Well done. You served us well.Thank you for stepping up to the plate when Levy Mwanawasa died.Thank you for your dedication.Very good speech. We wish you the best and indeed may the youger generation take over soon.Farewell.

  100. I salute Zambia for standing tall on a continent that many have shown disgrace time and again. We have managed change once again. Shame on anyone who behaved ciolently. Mr Banda has accepted defeat and I think he is a big man even in defeat. He joins our list of heros: KK-independence; FTJ- democracy; Mwanawasa- stability and rule of law and RB- economic growth. God bless you Mr Banda, we’ll miss your integrity and maturity. You have paved the way for Sata to show grace when he leaves office too. May he live upto that. We join you in wishing Mr Sata well and calling the nation to work hard for Zambia’s advancement. May the dordrums of opposition offer MMD growth and transformation.

  101. Zambia has done it again. Another peaceful transition. Western media won’t be so happy since they cherish reporting violence in African politics. Proud to be a Zambian. Good luck RB. Great speech.

  102. True statesmanship from RB. KK set a good precedence and we all should strive to uphold it, everyone knows that power is sweet KK himself confirmed this. SATA has won the day and the majority of the Zambians have spoken, though not the favourite for some of us but he is now our president. The true acid test for Member is how he is going to proceed from here. We need mature balanced reporting from all media houses. SATA should now take the good will of the majority of the Zambians that have given him the mandate for the next five years. We pray that God protects him as presides over a backlog of developmental projects to resuscitate the glory of Zambia. KK, FTJ, LPM and RB I pay tribute to you all wherever you are for you have done your best. True Zambians.

  103. #178 – you are right Magande should be considered for the finance ministry or bank of Zambia, abeit he belongs to a different party

  104. I think I like our out going president, he is mature. It takes maturity to accept defeat like that. I think we need to give credit where credit is deserving. Very few African presidents would do what he did and he will be remembered for this speech and I think as Zambian we are a mature democracy and the whole world is watching. We all remember when De Klerk stepped down to let Mandela rule. People like are the real heroes of the world and no doubt Mandela is a hero but lets not forget people like De Klerk. Lets not forget the out going President Rupiah Banda, he is a gentle man, he is civilised and mature and I think he really does want to see Zambia move forward. Congratulations to the new President and the PF party and we wish well and the wisdom to move Zambia forward. Good day.

  105. Rupia Banda has displayed a truely elements of manhood!
Other people should learn from hon Banda!-goodbye and thanks for your good and memorable speech on the earth!

you are just a human being, there are sthing u did in either way but some u deserve congrats!i am proud of you as true african leader!surely u are a matured politician and leader too!

    japhet from tanzania

  106. Statesman. You will forever be respected RB even from us that knew you from afar and are not Zambians. Only history will bring out the truth about you.

    To the incoming President, congratulations.
You have been voted into office on the back of the promises made during campaigns and your manifesto, deliver on them for the betterment of teh Zambian people. We pray that the Almighty God will be your partner in running the ffairs of government at all times. ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION

  107. I am glad Zambians have spoken!!!! The maturity was admirable towards the end, else the reported violence would have made Zambia look very bad, which am sure it has for the people who heard about it!! Press freedom of publishing by the hour should have not been discontinued because its public knowledge and people need/want to know. I hope Sata will not also stop the media from announcing by the hour in 5 years time!!!

    • I totally agree with you..And as for Sata, he knows better than to repeat what just happened, the people of Zambia are entitled to free and independent media!! We wait and see now..

  108. Where is Shakapwasha fo o lish levulandi? He has been quiet. Did he know that ichoombo was crossing over into plot one? We need news about the MPs too. Give us the stats as soon as possible. ledi lips is mere MP. Fo

  109. At least I can now start watching ZNBC and reading the DAILY and TIMES. Hoping it won’t be President SATA this and President SATA that. We hope now the K3,000 we have been paying all these years will be put to good use. CONGRATS SATA for winning and CONGRATS RB for conceeding defeat. IF SATA can do it after losing for so many years, it gives us a lot of hope to us ARSENAL fans.

  110. wow. i love how he jus handed over things….as Zambians, we have set an example to Africa.I mean, which other African president has shown such poise…m proud to say im Zambian…congrats Sata…n Rupiah, wish u all the best in yo future endeavours…

  111. Dear System Administrator, kindly ‘provide a firewall’ against insults. its horrible … God bless the republic and both old & new leaders (those in & out of government). Shalom

  112. Bye Mr President. Now “DONCHI KUBEBA” has ended, its now “NOMBA KUBEBA” & HH, Milupi & Elias we need you to provide constructive oposition to PF.

  113. Now I am president. It is my time also to eat. My family and my tribemates will eat. Mwebatumbuka nama Tonga zwa!
Now where are the rebel MPs? I’ll sort all of you out. GBM will be a great minister and so will Nsanda. And Mmembe if you try any rubbish I’ll sort you out. Drama in ZED starts here.

  114. Kabolala iwe get lost ! you have no capacity to advice PF on anything, take your corrupt mind back to your farm. 3 years was just too long, your incompetence has cost Zambians lives.

  115. RB has just displayed a true sense of democracy which most african politicians have failed to show, steping down from presidency and accepting defeat from an opposition party is really a democratic lesson that other african leader have to learn.mmd had there reign now its time for PF,the votes have decided and now lets see what sata and his govt will bring, all the best

  116. banda you are an example of a total failure in your life. You are so dull that you can’t see anything. You were foolishly cheated by what you created. Remember we shall start cases against you……i wondered what sort of image you represeted with your urgly face even if men are said not to be. Careful you bum…you traumatised us with your family and stupid people like shikapwasha and your girlfriend dollar

  117. RB,
Unflinchingly we register Greater pride in your magnanymity and statesmanship. Right up there, an excellent exit speech! You presided over the country in a highly senstive period following demise of the Head of State Mwanawasa (MHSRIP), a democratic election, to a peaceful transition leaving the country intact and in enduring peace. You have left us with Sata we embrace with both hands but pay allegence to the flag and the constitution to Zambia. Humanely we give him time to cerebrate and settle in, then tenaciously put him on his feet to deliver. As citizens with the solidarity of the friends of Zambia around the world we will build a core Generation Change Leadership alternative to keep in him on the radar of a progressive government that should never dare to divert or else.

  118. Thank you RB.

    Your speech is appreciated.

We will give credit for whatever was done and to be fair and objective, none for what wasn’t done. New president,,… whether things work out wellornot, it’s a learning phase for all Zambians.

    Keep the peace

  119. Stand and sing of Zambia, proud and free,

Land of work and joy in unity,

Victors in the struggle for the right,

    We have won freedom’s fight.

    All one, strong and free.

    Africa is our own motherland,

Fashion’d with and blessed by God’s good hand,

Let us all her people join as one,

    Brothers under the sun.

    All one, strong and free.

One land and one nation is our cry,

Dignity and peace ‘neath Zambia’s sky,

Like our noble eagle in its flight,

    Zambia, praise to thee.

    All one, strong and free.

    CHORUS

    Praise be to God.

Praise be, praise be, praise be,

    Bless our great nation,

    Zambia, Zambia, Zambia.

    Free men we stand

Under the flag of our land.

    Zambia, praise to thee!

    Al

  120. why is it that african leaders don’t see sense….chiGadaffi is dull also like you chipuba Banda….putting your family members in unknown issues…you know that your children stole zambian money in your fake deals uzanya chikala…uzachinona

  121. Whatever RB may have done during his presidency. This is a great speech and the behaviour of a fair sportsmen and real democrat. I am working with governance in Africa for 20 years and I didnt dream anymore of such a speech delivered by a defeated african president. It is good for Zambia and I hope the new president will honour this by giving RB a farewell in dignity.

  122. we don’t fear you any more and you are going with all those that stole money with you……start resigning or be fired by BaSata…IG….youn know your rubbish, Chief Justice…you even refused to announce my Uncle as Kateka yesterday morning. Resign now Like now so. leeet me get a a driiink and co continue later…Allo Zambia

  123. William banda chikala am skinning you myself…am coming for you. you started confusion and saying its us PF ….you will see, if if if if i catch you! the police are coming after you. you father funker

  124. Osatukana,RB amusiilani boma in a peaceful manner,i can imagine if he sata was in a similar boot like RB or had lost.Lets see what the baboons, chimpanzees, monkeys will do now that they have dropped from the trees where they were making a lot of noise.

  125. RB you are just a normal citizen like the rest of us now,no more special treatment, walya impiya pafula….am sure thandi will leave u now,lol

  126. Had MMD agreed to 50+1 in the new constitution, elections would, have by now gone into second phase. It is mostly likely that UPND would have ganged up with MMD to confront PF . MMD must be regretting. They thought 50+1 would only benefit opposition only!!!!!

  127. Had MMD agreed to 50+1 in the new constitution, elections would have by now gone into second phase. It is mostly likely that UPND would have ganged up with MMD to confront PF . MMD must be regretting. They thought 50+1 would only benefit opposition only!!!!!

  128. Many thax to all Zambians for peaceful election and peaceful hand over Mugabe must learn from his freind Banda thats the he must do

  129. Many thanks for a touching speech. After all you were not power hungry but maybe your followers. I wish you could turn back the time to those young days and become one of the young ones you are talking about. I like that picture of RB and VJ. Quite some smart guys in their days! Its also end of era for Sata. Lets see if we can have more money in our pockets within 90 days! We already have 89 days left by the way…

  130. Rupia you say you didnt rigg, its because you and the entire ECZ was being observed by the God Almighty.Dont u see that whichever way u tried, things came into open .kabiyenifye uwaishile kuya aya mwilasabaila.Even our father when his time comes ,he will go and life goes on.

  131. Mr. Banda, how can you with a clear conscience say WE NEVER KNOWINGLY ABUSED STATE FUNDS? Who do you think we are, Imbeciles? Please spare us the swan songs and just go away.

  132. Kalebalikaaaaa!!!!…..kalebalikaaaaa…….!!! Mwanawandi, ukasambe konse uleyaaaah….. nakalebalikaaaaah!!!!!!!!!! Mwende umutende ayikona kulaba kupepeka bakapanga balya waletula lintu uli kalumendo.chisuma mune lumolumo

  133.  Mr Banda your farewell message was that of a wise man. I congratulate you for hailing the new president and acknowledging MMD needs new leadership if they want to contest for future elections.

You shall be missed and I hope the new leadership isn’t going to spoil the fruit of your labors.

  134. The only thing that kept MMD going was it’s ruling party status, no ideology, no principle. If you ask a member of the MMD what it is their party stands for, the will give you blank stares, hence I fully expect MMD to disintegrate pretty quickly and consigned to irrelevance. Am non partisan.

  135. I wish all African leaders can be of that caliber. Mr. Banda, you have become like Mandela and may you continue to inspire the young upcoming politicians to develop Africa our continent.

Uganda my country has become a messy due to personal and family gains but hopefully one day we shall come out of that state.
Bye-Bye and Long live Mzee Banda:)>-

  136. Thanks Mr President. Kindly as you take office ensure that your advisers also take time to tell you that we government institutions which fell holier than thou like ERB RATSA kindly let them be like other civil servant by attaching them to the necessary ministries and not the millions they get as salaries. ERB there is nothing the do apart from issuing corrupt licenses coz they cant regulate fuel prices which are determined by the price of oil internationally

  137. RB: did you KNOWINGLY abuse state funds? You behaved like a man on a marathon of abuse, until ‘Usain Bolt’ caught up with you!

    • I hope the next Gvt acts like wise.RB was only trying to advise Sata and his people to emulate him.Be wise enough 2 read btn lines number 235
      .

  138. H.E Rupiah Bwezani Banda you have done your best and everyone is there to see with their eyes. It is just that our plans are not God’s plan. Thank you so much for the time that you have been with us as our Repulican President. To the president elect, Zambian’s are expecting the implementation of the promises that where assured to them. Otherwise ……. another change may occure within the shortest possible period. Listen to them (us) they are your masters not your servants. Wishing you all the best as you excute presidential duties bestowed on you by the Zambian People. God bless you.

  139. H.E Rupiah Bwezani Banda you have demonstrated pure presidential maturity on the way you handed over power. Very rear in Africa. You have done your best and everyone is there to see with their eyes. It is just that our plans are not God’s plan. Thank you so much for the time that you have been with us as our Republican President. To the president elect, Zambian’s are expecting the implementation of the promises that where assured to them. Otherwise ……. another change may occur within the shortest possible period. Listen to them (us) they are your masters not your servants. Wishing you all the best as you execute presidential duties bestowed on you by the Zambian People. H.E Sata emulate Dr Banda when to time to hand over comes. God bless you.

  140. G O ZAMBIANS IN SHOWING THE WEST THAT YOU ARE MATURED TO CONDUCT ELECTIONS SO PEACE FULLY CREDITS GOES TO MAMBILIMA FOR REFUSING TO RIGI ELECTIONS ATHOUGH BEING BRIBED BY MMD THAT WAS PURELY DONT KUBEBA .BUT THIS IS THE END FOR FOR REGING THE FIRST ELECTION YOU SHOULD RETIRE WITH RB AFTER ANSWERING SO CHARGES OF CORRUPTIONS

  141. Ala Kwena Ba ZED mulibakali! RB alila while his ka youg wife looks on. RB was the shortest democratically elected president. Grde 7s social studies. yet his rule seemed like a centuary have no feelings for him. Amba zonke. Warning Ba Sata if u let him off the hook we shall do donchi kubeba on you & PF. where is Dora & Bro William!

  142. Regardless of Mr Banda;s inadequacies,, as a Ugandan,, i envy the maturity and statemanship he has shown,,zambians should be proud of him., We as human make mistakes,,, that is why we humans anyway…. but to give room to others peacefully to do their share is admirable!!!!!… We can only hope that Mr, Sata can now begin to walk the talk,,, the world is watching.
