President Michael Sata has said today that the zero-tolerance stance against corruption adopted by the new administration is irreversible. The President reaffirmed that the government is firm on its fight against corruption both in the public and private sector with full commitment and vigour.

“During the campaigns we made an undertaking that we shall robustly fight corruption and we shall do just that. The policy of this government is that any person who has aggrieved the Zambian people economically and otherwise, in the past or present, must face the law,” says the Head of State.

“Make no mistake about it, because we are resolute on combating corruption and all its offshoots even if it means losing friends. We are ready to make that sacrifice for the sake of the Zambian people whom we promised and as a result they gave us the mandate to preside over this country’s affairs.”

President Sata said the law enforcement agencies will investigate any past and present acts of corruption and ensure that the culprits are prosecuted within the due process of the law.

“I’m confident that professionalism and exemplary ethical conduct shall be the bedrock of this process,” said the President through a media statement issued by his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relation George Chellah..

The President emphasized that the crusade against corruption will be done without malice or witch-hunt and shall be non-selective because he does not believe in selective justice.

[pullquote]“This government has not made a decision at any level regarding the removal of anybody’s immunity. And nobody has even talked about it either from the party or government’s side. It is therefore, preposterous that some political stakeholders and leaders among us are attempting to frustrate this crusade by throwing innuendoes and half-truths on this noble cause,” said President Sata.  [/pullquote]

“This government has not made a decision at any level regarding the removal of anybody’s immunity. And nobody has even talked about it either from the party or government’s side. It is therefore, preposterous that some political stakeholders and leaders among us are attempting to frustrate this crusade by throwing innuendoes and half-truths on this noble cause,” said President Sata.

“I must repeat that, we are unwavering on this score and nothing other than justice shall prevail. As for those who have expediently decided to side with corruption and the corrupt, we leave it to the Zambian people to see and know them for who they are and what they stand for. A moment ago, we all campaigned on the platform of fighting corruption, so what has changed?”

  1. Start with Guy Scott then Investigate Satan, then Regina Mwanza and then you can begin to look at Rupiah Banda and his MMD government. You have a good policy. Just make sure you follow through with it.

  2. Thats true, why all the talk about immunity, muyopa chani if you didnt do anything wrong, did you honestly think you would be in power forever as your George Kunda once put it. Those who stole must be punished those who didnt steal must be acquitted ( if charged with a case) its that simple. For once Zambians let stop thinking of the politicians lets think of those mothers that sleep on the hard concrete nursing their children due to lack of beds in the hospitals while money for the hospitals is diverted to buying Lexus cars and numerous unnecessary trips abroad. Think of those children in classrooms with no desks coz Thandiwe needed a hotel in South Africa. When Rupiah had a Knee injury he had fixed in SA someone he never went when he was at his Farm in Chipata. Cage them Sata no mercy!

  3. HH wwhen campaigning was saying RB was a very corrupt man. Today he is saying RB is clean. That is the reason this HH will never be a factor in Zambian politics. Zambians know him very well apart from the Tongas among whom he campaigns on sensational tribal sentiments. He has no seats in Lusaka Province, Copperbelt, Luapula, Central, Northern and Eastern provinces. His party has no national appeal.
HH is very corrupt. He stole so much money when he was in charge of the privatization of ZCCM. He has info that MCS will cage him together with RB and get back the Zambians money.

    • If you are correct in your accusations against HH, then your Sata will try him and bring him to justice. If your Satan fails to do this, then you should shut up and stop this propaganda against HH. You Bemba’s are Crap!!!

    • You say HH is corrupt? Why did Sata get in a pact with him when he supposedly knew this? Try to reason before you make wild allegations other wise you just look like an imb*cile.

  4. Go ahead. Everyone was warned that they will be investigated but they decided to engage / continue with their malpratices thinking that they will continue in government. Some wife has become very rich . . . rumours again. Investigate bwana and bring back the monies and leave them as the late Mwanasawa left people . . . as when they had joined politics. Came poor you shall leave poor.

  5. #1 Beautifully put it. And we are watching and looking forward and ready to face anybody in the court of law and not in the media

    • Yah, give me a break!!

Just like you were ready to face “them” at the polls and you lost, bululu! Wait until a can of “whoop ass” is opened on you and your ilk, you will soon be scampering in all directions crying persecution—you morons!

Wait for Zambian justice and we shall see you laughs last!

    • Yah, give me a break!!

Just like you were ready to face “them” at the polls and you lost, bululu!! Wait until a can of “whoop ass” is opened up on you and your ilk, you will soon be scampering in all directions crying persecution—you morons! Zambian justice is coming for you and we shall see you laughs last.

  6. The rule of law should apply!!! The MMD took advantage of Zambians thinking that they were stupid and had no brains. They (MMD) believed they were the only clever animals in the bush. Now the Cobra has come so that they face the law. Thanks SATA MAN uli Cha ume Bravo!! i salute with all my heart. May the Good Lord add more days to your life.

  7. That’s the way to go ….Action!! Integrity and discipline in public office must be the values of serving in public office. Now, Does President SATA’s rule using 10 commandments allow the Parliament Motel to be used as a brothel for parliamentarians? Are the sexual scandals at parliament Motel ( A Public institution, now a brothel) reflect a model of honourable persons (HONOURABLE MPS)?

  8. #3 Just don’t forget that when your the President had a punctured heart, he had it fixed in South Africa too, FACT and not rumour. Also remember that when his wife had a punctured heart she had it fixed in South African too,  again FACT and not rumour. All at the expense of the many desks we could have bought for poor schools in Zambia.

How about that? Let the the games and fan begin, we are ready .

    • It is better to save a life than to corrupt a soul. I think spending money on curing an ailment can not be compared to spending it on scrap metal (cars) and luxuries that just exalt vanity! Think about that.

  9. @Kaponyas . . . . Right on my friend . .  .. “For once Zambians let stop thinking of the politicians lets think of those mothers that sleep on the hard concrete nursing their children due to lack of beds in the hospitals while money for the hospitals is diverted to buying Lexus cars and numerous unnecessary trips abroad. Think of those children in classrooms with no desks”.

Politicians SHOULD NOT  think of enriching themselves, wives and families BUT THE DISADVANTAGED. hmmmm Some people think it is status to steal aka being called a political thief. They are no better then the armed robber in prison. Theft is theft in the eyes of the ALMIGHTY. And stealing for riches is even worse then stealing for hunger as the Bible tells us to forgive the one who stole because he was hungry.

  10. First and foremost, we need a definition of corruption. Why is it that only those who leave offices of power suddenly become corrupt. Why are people not arrested when they are in power? I am not taking sides, just wondering.

    • #13 Are you for real or you’re just stupiiid you don’t know what corruption is? Go to Zambia and see what corruption has done to the Mines, Hospitals, Roads etc maybe it can help you to understand. I can’t help you.

    • Sir! Check the dictionary. It is very clear. Next stop, check the statutes of the ACC, again, in context, it is very clear there. Once you have done that, try to follow a clearly defined system in Zambia such as obtaining a national document. Then come back and tell us whether we really should teach you what the definition of corruption is! Anybody in power in a typical third world country flouts the law with impunity, that is why they appear to be victimised when they lose that shroud of invincibility upon losing power! Think about that!!!!

  11. What President Sata learnt from Ba Levi was that you can only leave a legacy if you fiht corruption. Go SATA Go ! Donchi Kubeba!

  12. The Bricklayer if you can not see any sense in this, then i leave it to you for your own assessment of your sanity,VIVA M C SATA

  13. WITCH HUNT and then that will make everybody happy, all zambians will be rich and hunger no more after this witch hunt. only way to combat corruption is to make a country where people belive the govt will deliver on its promises. after 90 days if your govt hasn’t delivered people will go back to corrupt practices to survive.

  14. Too much talking ba Sata. Investigate.strategy.implement. not everyday pamulabasa. You are becoming common man!

  17. The clean-up should start from your own house i.e. PF. Guy scott and the pig-gate scandal, Kambwili and the Luanshya rail-slippers scandal, Sata for the 2 billion kwacha when he was in MMD and the 25,000 dollars left in South Africa. Need I go on.

    • Yes, go on, compile a dossier, and present it to the anti-corruption commission, or the IG. They are currently investigating these things. Cheers mate.

  18. You promised us development in 90 days…the clock is ticking and am not seeing any work in progress other than the usual fire and hire and tokky talky about corruption! awee!

  19. funny how people thing suits and shoes and lexus trucks etc will eradicate poverty in zambia. you base ur corruption on small things, leave it alone, at the end of the day, all of you will be burried at embassy parks, and the problems all of you created will still be there. e.g UNZA will continue to deteriorate daily. UTH will forever be a death trap. Ministry of Education will always run on donations from outside. and biggest pill to swallow, 80% of zambias mineral wealth belongs to non zambians, because we are too busy chasing 2 lexus trucks

  20. This government has not made a decision at any level regarding the removal of anybody’s immunity. And nobody has even talked about it either from the party or government’s side. It is therefore, preposterous that some political stakeholders and leaders among us are attempting to frustrate this crusade by throwing innuendoes and half-truths on this noble cause,” said President Sata.

  21. Shani MMD chief bootlicker.Good to see u back on the blog.We thought you can not take the loss.I say welcome back! Amazing how you can continue licking those loosing boots. Walikosa man licking MMD boots and soon be licking MMD/UPND boots.Walikosa some MMD members are jumping ship you still licking the captain of a sinking Titanic ship’s boots.Bravo

  22. May I add in looking at previous cases, I recall that when late former President Levy Mwanawasa resigned as republican vice president, it was because he claimed to have found evidence of corruption by the sitting president at the time minister of health and his reason for resigning was that he could not persuade the then DPP to moveon the allegations. One certainly hopes that that casefile will be dusted up and dealt with in this overhaul so that we are truly a nation that has zero tolerance of past present and future corruption.

    • You think if there was any eveidence to suupport that Sata could have been spared? He could have been done when LPM was still alive.Even RB could have jumped o this case when he became President. Look at how many schemes they hatched to try and lock him up they failed. Actually LPM even had him arrested for car threft but he was acquited

  23. This Sata guy is acting like everybody in the former govts was tainted to the core and everybody he is appointing to take their place is a squeeky clean angel.Funny thing is that anybody that comes in with such gusto about “cleaning up” often ends up with dirt of their own which they find hard to defend. Those “angels” brought in by Sata will do things that will tain Sata. Those same “angels” will at some point turn on him.FTJ,KK and RB all had folks who did stuff that made them look corrupt.Clinton,Bush & Reagan also had turncoats who turned against them just for book deals. So Sata stop acting like you’re so clean and evrybody else is the devil bcoz dirty stuff will happen under your so called clean govt.

  24. What happens to the 2billion government money mr sata deposited in his personal account…i hope it will also be investigated as it amounts to abuse of public funds.

  25. “Anybody who has aggrieved the Zambian people economically and otherwise, in the past or present, must face the law-Sata.” Does that include you Mr President or will it only apply to you when your immunity is lifted after you leave office? Just seeking clarification, kabusha takolelwe bowa!

  26. Mr President Sir,there are crooks all over the world even in the US.What we want sir, is for our country to be developed and compete favourably in the global economy. We are not interested in witch hunts…4 lexus cars for example can not eradicate poverty. Please focus on the constitution, put systems in place that will make it hard for corruption.Who doesnt know that to get a passport in zambia you just have to bribe someone.with the new system that MMD put in place though I’m sure corruption at passport office is reduced. So its systems Sir…Please lead us and enough of rumour mongering already!

    • Uli ryt yele! I am also in favor of such a move andi am a believer that this Corruption fight is only meant to pleas the mmembe followers especially the Nchito brothers who will be geting $20000 (us dolas) per month. Yes welcome back the Nchito brothers; welcome Zambian airways etcetc Life is Good

  27. Like the old saying goes, you can take an african out of the bush but u cant take the bush out of him. What on earth is wrong with what the president just said? The thieves are scared like little worms and they will do anything to discourage this man and their stupid repeat of 90days. The man has already achieved more than enough by setting his programs in line to better Zambia. Implementation and development will take years and any man with common sense knows that.

  28. #30 MMD Chief Bootlicker, after your insults I am sure you feel much relieved. Feel free to insult some more if you can, but know this, truth pains and facts are facts no matter your state of emotion. God bless you young man!

  29. @ #1, Bricklayer: Shame on yourself. You talk with baselessness and you are proud to be the first to comment. Mwanawasa failed to find anything on Sata no wonder he stayed out of prison. RB was visibly corrupt because a week after becoming president his sons were driving Range Rovers! Learn to use statistical evidence when hurling empty assumptions. It is a shame that some Zambians will defend a man who openly stole from the country.

    • I like this men, intelligent Zambians saw it, Mwanawasa was almost an enemy with Sata, but all attempts to close him down on corruption failed there was and there is no evidence. Others are thinking being found with money is corruption. the South Africa never found any case with Sata apart from being found with lots of money which he actually accounted for. to be true to ourselves this man is almost the cleanest politician.

  30. the president should start by arresting himself for he was a beneficiary of corruption under chiluba regime

  31. MR PRESIDENT SATA, CAN YOU PLEASE RESTORE UTH IN LUSAKA TO MODERN STANDARDS SO THAT NO ZAMBIAN MONEY GOES TO MORNING – SIDE CLINIC IN SOUTH AFRICA. PLEASE SORT OUT UTH.
MAKE UTH A REFERRAL HOSPITAL ABLE TO ATTRACT HIGH CALIBRE ZAMBIAN DOCTORS WHO ARE NOW IN RSA, EUROPE, CANADA, USA. THINK ABOUT THE FOREIGN EXCHANGE YOU EXTERNALIZE TO SOUTH AFRICA EACH YEAR. THAT MONEY CAN REBUILD ZAMBIA INSTEAD OF BENEFITTING A FEW.

  32. @ MMD Chief Bootlicker: You are a shame and a sham of a human brain. You must use figures to justify your nonsense. Medical fees are not anywhere material to the development of the country. That’s as good as saying that if you donated 50% of your salary to schools you would buy a desk. Please bless us with figures and not empty words. This is a government that is ready to stand up for Zambians and not politicians, this a governement that deserves to be commended as it is not easy to remove an incumbent government in Africa- We, the majority voted and see us govern, I do not mind your comments as they are invalid till 2016!

  33. Fight against corruption should not be politicised, only as good as a sitting president’s commitment. We need law enforcement agencies to be doing this every work day. that’s what they are paid for. If they are not doing their work, then something is wrong. Either they are corrupt themselves or our institutions are not empowered enough.

  34. #11 MMD bootlicker, your shallowness is beginning show.  Having Sata and his wife flown to SA for heart surgery does not constitute corruption on their part. I am no even sure what your argument is. This is about recovering and punishing those who have stolen from the Zambian people. It would not surprise me to find that you are one of the culprits.  And for heavens sake it is not a GAME as you put it. Let the games begin? what does that even mean. You F.reaking I.diot.

  35. Can you also investigate Rajan Mahtani for money laundering and numerous breaches of the banking and financial services act? What about Maureen Mwanawasa and the $1Mio she asked Magande to wire to France when infact the French Govt had footed all the bills for Levy’s situation and eventual death? You can’t claimto be fighting corruption while at the same time be condoning it amongst your close friends and cronies. Mmembe & Nchito’s owe Finance Bank millions of dollars due to their personal guarantee on the Zambian Airways deal. I see them walking away scot free while the bank takes a hit with poor depositors hard earned savings.

  36. Yeah dats a good plan. They should start with Satas K1.2 billion 1992 corruption case and the $25000 case. so ba sata dont act all clean when u were also involved in corruption cases….. u shud practice what you preach nigga…. and what is this crap.. we want development ka, 90 days.. clock is ticking 62days to go elo you are just preaching about corruption. Ur priority here is to bring development then wipe out corruption which you wont coz you just as corrupt as the other leaders with the exception of Mwanawasa.

  37. If you ever stole from the poor, I guess you gotta get scared. Do not doubt the wisdom of our one and only Angel Michael. He has assembled a team of able men and women to fight corruption to the bone. Few people saw the logic in appointing mr ” task force” ( Maxwell nkole) . There’s a task force operating underground and the RB regime will face the wrath of the law. He who never takes warning….

  38. @ Moon Yellow: It is sad that someone who can dig information as you have can use it for the wrong reasons. If H.E Sata was corrupt, a man as reputable as Mwanawasa would have found grounds to imprison him, but he did not. Do not get information and extract allegations as facts and verdicts. Be smart and prevent yourself from being a resourceful *****!

  39. The battle cry has rang it is all systems go against the corrupt lot. Tell us how you acquitted the little nimble footed crook. Cage red lips and the dancing crew led by mama Bokosi in some museums and let them be pieces of historical relevance in the fight against corruption. Judgement day has come for all those fake Pastors. We at Chimbokaela welcome you with both hands. Ze Bigger it’s pelete time Mpombo predicated but you thought he was a lunatic. He who laughs last laughs the longest.

  40. The president is wasting lots of his enrgy through press gunfire warnings to individuals who had committed curruption in the past present and future. Zambians have kept details of those involved and today they are expecting Mr Sata to book these people without delay for court proceedings to begin. Zambians are not interested in campaign speaches of warnings and “I will do” issues. Begin to work time is money. Even without warnings Zambians would appreciate that corruption is being tackled. Not press statements today, tomorrow, next day etc. That demonstrates inability to act and this will be subtle on Mr Sata as himself and PF members are all in this corruption INDABA.

  41. Big Pipe
    You are always Objective….Spot on
    1.Rajan must be probed
2.Maureen Mwanawasa (Mother of all Corruption) must also be checked
    3. Mrs Former BOZ governor must be checked together with that lady who used to run ZINAN
4.David Diangamo and his activities while CSO director
5.All Master Trainers during the 2000 Census (except two who retired funds) must also be probed
    6….>> the list is endless

  42. let those that have developed land be given title. there is too much corruption at lands dept.. talk about such issues instead of unearthing cases that will just fatten lawyers..

  43. Ever seen folks who act so holy then end up being caught in bed with the devil Mr Sata? Even priests are also caught doing sinful things and with Sata is acting so holy its only a matter of time before he is caght pants down thru one of his so called clean appointees.

  44. It wasn’t always easy for us to witness the struggle for life amongst poor zambans. But at the end of it all perhaps we came to know more about ourselves and the steuggles that rage within our savage souls( e.g. massive looting by MMD). The MMD thought we were helpless to change our destiny. Thank God fOr Michael. Zambia s now emerging from the the darkness into the light.

  45. # 39 moon yellow,
Spot on except that Mwanawasa allowed his wife to engage in corruption….He was OK BUT his wife’s activities STINK!!

  46. “Bricklayer” are you the now dead Bootlicker and team? You guys must let the man work! Are you still bitter? We told you but you never saw this coming? How you loved to burry your heads in sand like ostriches! Grow up boys and accept defeat.

    • LET HIM WORK INSTEAD OF SINGING IN THE PRESS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH WORKING QUIETLY? YA BA!

  47. That’s the only way to go Mr. president. Innocent people have nothing to worry about. But the guilty are always afraid and are already shitting in their pants. This cleaning of Zambia is an absolute necessity if we are to start on a new footing and a clean slate. This move by the new government should be given every support by all well meaning Zambians.
Why is it certain sections of our society are screaming it’s a witch hunt? How could they fail to see that Zambia has been very badly governed and desperately needs cleaning up? Please Mr. president do not spare any one. If and when they are found guilty no amnesty until at least they have served stiff penalties in prison. Hopefully this will serve as a strong deterrent to would be plunderers.

  48. @ Tombolilo: Please do not support anything without evidence, figures and dates- I am here to help assumption based people like you the difference between allegation and verdict!

  49. IMWE BANTU, ZNBC is showing signs of change for the better!!
They are featuring Opposition Leaders like CHIPIMO and MILUPI…
    go SATA go!!

  50. We should not just be talking about the corruption at the higher level. It is also the corruption you face everyday at police roadblocks, at the passport office, customs clearance or when a case file goes missing in the hands of the police. Its all well and good to talk about the big time corruption, which is usually sophisticated. We spend loads of money to prove and in the end we give up. In the meantime the grassroots corruption is killing us. That’s the corruption that I would like to hear Mr Sata talk about!

  51. Luciferous Calyptus,
i hope you are not one of the 2000 census master trainers from CSO.
Tell me ……how can a civil servant build a mansion from those salaries. The problem with some of you guys is that you are blind to corruption that is happening right before your eyes.
I fully support TOMBOLILO on that one

  52. “A moment ago, we all campaigned on the platform of fighting corruption, so what has changed?”
    Taking a swipe at UPND.

  53. I am not a public servant and I have never been one. Maybe I did not read the statement from our colleague critically. Anyhow, corruption must be fought outrightly. Pres Sata will have to show his leadership qualities when it comes to managing and dismissing his colleagues because we all know that that time comes in every regime. Building a mansion from such activities is way over board and must be investigated and the resources grabbed. I do not blind myself to corruption before my eyes, it is just that I work with evidence and verdicts and not assumptive conclusions.

  54. His Excellency’s speech and English have picked up. He is ready to get a degree in The Post. He has really studied how the paper writes! Mr Sata now speaks ‘posh-t’.

  55. The guys who will obviously benefit from corruption are the ones who are already wealthy in PF government. They spent a lot of money on campaigns and they will now recoup their losses. Nobody will notice if GBM cuts a billion Ks.

  56. #20 even a dull person who is called a bush product can think better than you. Your ignorance about K2billion for MMD National conference is born out of bukachepa. Ask people who are very much associated with this saga and they will tell you Sata was not party of this despite being the Secretary General. for MMD. For your own information Late president Mwanawasa initiated investigation to nail Sata but the outcome was that Katele Kalumba was the one signed for the K2Billion and Sata was not involved.

  57. Past and present !!!
Himself got 2billion government money for the reason i dont know. so he must be investigated first. Who can help investigating him as he has just started enjoyi ka immunity? no one so this is abuse of office already. Thats why RB removed the clause because he didnt want blind the zambian people.

  58. @ The Saint: Poor way to waste your online time by writing assumptuous rubbish that is non progressive and provocative in an irritatingly joking manner. President Sata is a natural public speaker and a career politician. When it comes to speech not even his two predecessors can out class him. He owns the stage when he takes it. Hate it or love it, The Post newspaper is the best paper in the country and they are a sign that the media can influence election outcomes. The PF goverment has also helped Daily Mail to become more marketable.

  59. ha ha ,zambian kwacha has gained value since sata s election.kutiwaseka.Please man concentrate on the economy. All you energy is wasted on revenge meanwhile kwacha ilepona.

  60. a Sata, God forgives you are the most corrupt person know. Unless you have a different description of corruption. Below is the tip of ice berg of the way we know you.

    1) You deposited the Govt money in your personal account;
    2) You sold yourself Govt houses when the ban was in place;
    3) You have appointed relatives in senior Govt position eg Sichinga whose child is married to your own; Mr. Chikwanda who presided over the death of your son when you were hailing; The PS in the Ministry of Finance is the husband of your wifes young sister and at the time of appointment they were staying in Olympia.

I have a dossier to inform the nation. If the above is not corruption. Can you the His Execellence in Corrupt practices inform us what is the above tantamount to. Thank you

  61. I also join in to welcome the NCHITO brothers the best prosecutors at a fee of $20000 who wouldnt manufacture evidence against anyone or persecute anyone? Welcome brothers!

  62. @ Exchange rate: Please know your economics very well. A weak Kwacha to the Dollar is good for exports. A strong Kwacha to the Dollar is good for imports. When you sale to outsiders who will pay in Dollar, a $100 will mean less to you when you bring it in it will buy less. Do not get half baked information, it hurts how Zambians care for the Kwacha to strengthen just to support their importation needs. Think with an equilibrium!

  63. @ TAMARA: Please, use logic. Cabinet ministers must be appointed on a trust basis and if they are qualified why not. Mr. Chikwanda is a reputable business man and he is in the capacity to be Finance minister. In England, the Shadow Chancellor’s wife is in cabinet.

  64. MR. President seems to continuoulsy say MMD but we must not forget that the Man KIng Cobra now H.E was in the MMD for 10 years of the 20 that MMD was in power. In the actual sense, he is back to finish the third term he so wanted FTJ to have. Lets not be blind, he was part of the team that enforced privatisation, he has MERZAF flats scandal on his resume. K2 billion MMD convention missing. Then he left $27 at Oliver tambo airport and lied about it. We dont have a clean man in office but one with very good rhetoric.

  65. Exchange Rate, grow up and quit your sarcasm, I gave you basic facts and they are so bitter to swallow. Well any person who understands rates knows that China as an exporter is benefiting from a weak currency, if Zambia wants exports to boost, a reasonably weakened Kwacha will suffice. @ Chintomfwa, please do not take allegations as verdicts also, Privatisation was inevitable as the government at the time hadn’t sufficient funds to run corporations. Sata is not clean but then, if he is dirty, why didn’t an intelligent man like Levy get him?

  66. START WITH THE MERZAF HOUSING PROJECT AND MMD DEALS WHEN YOU WERE SHARING MONIES WITH YOUR FELLOW THIEVES IN MMD

  67. I said Zambia is in trouble with Sata’s regime and indeed we are.I pray that he does good things for this country but he boobs too much. Now he wants to remove Banda’s immunity!Fine if he wants to clean up he better start from 1964.Yes 1964 so that all Zambians can know the truth about who the big thieves, the corrupt and the maffia of Zambia are dead and alive.yes dead and alive.Didnt Kaunda give loans to friends?Didnt he pocket $7 billion? What of Sata and the health ministry scandals and disappearance of containers of drugs, the merzaf flats scandal, local government cheques in his account!who,s clean?Mr Sata must be serious and look at realisic issues not personal vendetta’s.I hope he doesnt run this country broke. How does he raise more money?no idea yet!!GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  68. @ TAMARA SPILL THE BEANS, I AM STARTING TI DISLIKE THIS POPULIST, HES GONNA HURT THE SAME PIPO WHO SING AND DANCE WHENEVER HE SPEAKS RUBBISH ….. SATA HAS ALWAYS BEEN CORRUPT WITH HIS MMD DAYS …. BY THE WAY, SA POLICE ARE WAITING FOR HIS VISIT TO ANSWER FOR THE $25000 HE LEFT AT THE AIRPORT THATS AMOUNTS TO MONEY LAUNDERING.

  69. Problem with most of you Zambians supporting these MMD former power mongers is that you have an inferiority complex. A muzungu wanga anikonde attitude, GOOD MY PRESIDENT MR mICHAEL SATA, PERSUE THEM, FOR THE TOOK TOO MUCH FROM NOT ONLY ZAMBIANS BUT OUR ANIMALS IN THE WILD TOO, THE BIG FIVE WERE POACHED TOO! BA KUDU REDUCED IN NUMBER NE mPANYA SHONSE SHALICHULILE. Mwanawasa taught you well, and thank you Levy for sending Ba Sata my greatest Governor of Lusaka to South Africa for medical treatment, now even your son Patrick is being looked after. YOur policies on corruption being strengthened. Lets all be happy and celebrate truth shall be respected. Help ZAMBIAN AIRWAYS, ZAMBIA RAILWAYS, CIVIL SERVANTS and bring sanity to our roads mwe.

  70. @ Exchange Rate: Please remember that the Zim dollar’s demise was accompanied by retaliatory inflation thereby cancelling out any arbitrage gains thereof. Goods that would be exported for a massive gain were not marketable as they were too pricy. Am quite undefeatable at the economic argument, if you want to argue, not finance because there it’s a landslide!

  71. All Zambians must assist the president make Zambia a corruption free nation. No just a Christian nation. We commend the president for this stand. We wish him to succeed.

  72. It is pay back time let all MMD cadres know that people of Zambia lost comfidence in their MMD admin because of corruption hence bouted out of power by Zambian people, so let the game begin and no crying fool here and as the president has put it no amount of witch hunting or malice will be tolarated in fighting corruption but the rule of law should prevail and condemn corruption at all levels. its time to move the country forward.

  73. zambians lets ask GOD to help us .if we all stand together and help our leaders we will together build zambia.remember we are doing it for the young generation as well. The wise person is the one who stands to be corrected and learns from their mistakes.if our president makes a mistake,we should correct in love,if he does something good praise him .remember we only have one zambia

  74. Good evening

At his inauguration, president Sata made a number of important committments to the nation. One of them was to wipe out corruption. Now that he is reaffirming his committment, people start hammering him from every angle and position. Interestingly, these same people would be quick to start castigating him for failing to honour his committment if he does not prosecute the perpetrators of corruption vogorously enough.

The Germans have a saying: “Du kannst es nicht jedem Recht machen” meaning “you cannot please everyone.” If the president remains focussed on his committments and true to his plan, our country will see progress.

  75. In any African village if a child goes missing you start witch hunting….You start with all the elderly and all the grey haired will be suspects. You call in the services of a witch doctor to perform some rituals and all the witches will start to confess… simples.

  76. Mr president please extend the fight against corruption to NGO’S, FBO’S, CBO’S for longtime donor funds have been abused and stolen by the people running this organisations, in most cases programs runs by some NGO’S dont even benefit the people intended for at grassroot level but enriches people runing these NGO’S, CBO’S and FBO’S. There is a tendency of faking or forging receipts in NGO’S to count for donor funds and governement support progromes and that is corruption period.

  77. Man Of action? Perhaps it is mouthy action

The president is throwing too many statements. get to job Sir and get your press aid to come up with such statements.

But then again this is one poor country people above are busy hallucinating and proud of their president. Very dull if you ask me

    Thanks

  78. Criminals are crying even before the arm of the law takes hold of them. You failed to break Mr Sata’s heart when he was in the opposition, what about this time? Mwanya! Those people that have died unneccessary are not human beings? Look at the people suffering in many places in this country ,largely because of this evil. Hh ,with your upnd ,you have taken a very wron g path. You can’t betray people on and on . On the pact you did betray us and on your association of corrupt mmd you are betraying us. End of your political carear. You don’t own the people in Southern province. Don’t say we never warned you.

  79. lets give the presido a chance.his heart is in the right place.its regrettable that theres alot of many negative comments over this postive move. its a long haul.we need to start somewhere’

  80. What do you want the President to do with this endemic corruption? To just look at it like that? Mcs,is working to our expectation of us the victims who voted for him . Do not listen to them. They thought they would continue in power. HH=HUMAN HYPOCRISY. You are indeed a hypocrite of a human being. However, you must know that you cannot prevail against the majority. I thank God because even mmd not all will be agreeing with you parliament. This is really an insult to young politicians like Taima, Keith, Mutati,Muhabi Lungu etc to let an under five(he has never even been a councilor or an Mp) hood wink you.

  81. #82 did you just say Kaunda pocketed $7b? let me read that again. Where would he hide that money at? how many 18 wheeler trucks would he need to store that kind of money? do you think chiluba would not have found it? man you need help. if you gonna make up facts be a little reasonable sir….

  82. Is there any pastor on this blogg?can someone please help me understand how justice can go together with forgiveness.

  83. u pipo r forgetin dat their  is a  direct link btween corruption n poverty.one can only reduce the levels of poverty by fighting corruption.so he is not jst tokin,he knows dat dats the only way he can reduce the levels of poverty.

  84. #99 JUSTICE CAN GO 2GETHA WITH FORGIVENESS once the offender is convicted and is able to accept the wrong she/he has done and requests for forgiveness at the same time.

  85. HH is conspiring with MMD and RB particularly in wrong doing. The fight against corruption should start by arresting the found wanting Members of Parliament so that it reduces the number of the would be voters against the lifting of immunity for RB in parliament bcoz of their protected interests. HH is heartless and is bringing about UPND downfall. UPND members, please find another president of the party to replace HH before UPND vanishes.

  86. Gono @#100 you seem to be new to politics.Kaunda is purpoted to have stolen $7 billion.Y es $7 billion ! This came up during the 1990/91 campaign and Sata is one of the principle characters in this issue. He knows best where that money is.Also go back to post archives Mr Gono and know the politics of Sata and Zambia. You should also ask who is Mark Chona? What did he do with the money Kaunda gave him to deposit in a foreign account? In 1992/93 Sata said Kaunda should be arrested for these same reasons. It was Chiluba who blocked that.Theres no smoke without fire.We need to know Mr Sata.GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  87. MMD chief bootlicker #11 you have to know and understand that every citizen of this great nation has the right to be flown to anywhere in the world for medical attetion at the taxpayers money paid and any government in charge has to facilitate speedy evacution without favour because that is why we pay tax.The money used to take our president and ba mayo ba first lady did not come from Rupia pocket or MMD party bwana bootlicker that was from tax payers money and the two people evacuated pay tax its their money used iwe mudala.Immunity is not as issue we the people of zambia removed Chilubas own and he faced the law who is RB.If RB will be innocent immunity will be back.let the law decide no witchhunting all we want is sanity.

  88. HH is a joke..Please UPND members stand up and save the party that the Great Mazoka worked so hard to build before this joker HH drives the party into oblivion.HH has no political wisdom, simply put geting into bed with the MMD will render the UPND irrelevant in Zambian politics sooner rather than later.

  89. Please PF start developing the nation rather than concentrate on reminding people about how Sata is going to rid this country of corruption. Leave the fight of corruption to the law enforcement agencies. Fact is you will never win on corruption and you know it. You are not committed to fighting corruption but to introduce your own corruption. Who is interested in how many cars were at State house? They were not RB’s cars but the State’s and you are now enjoying them. Banda wanted to build a Stae house for Zambians not for himself. We need a STATE HOUSE that is accessible by ordinary people and that is what Banda wanted, but people thought he wanted a house for himself. The cancellation of the construction of State House andv Airport is temporary unti Sata finds his own contractors.

  90. Iam totally behind this fight against corruption but the government should learn from past efforts whereby court cases have dragged on resulting in extremely high costs for the state to bear, money which could have been used to educate kids,or even build houses was diverted toward the so called fight against corruption.Lets not fall into the trap which tends to benefit only the already well to do sub-ruling class of lawyers and other people from the legal fraternity of Zambia who seem to benefit regardless of who is in power. This creates an unhealthy climate in the state and doesn’t infact reduce corruption but increases it as what tends to happen is a network of who knows who is created amongst legal practitioners and law enforcement officers. Focus on CAUSES of corruption and POVERTY!

  91. Let us not worry much about Sata for now, Chiluba, Mwanawasa and Bwezani would have nailed Sata a long time ago if indeed this man had been involved in corruption, this can only mean one thing…its either he has been too smart for all the past presidents or they just had nothing to pin him on. for now let us support his fight against corruption and this is a very noble cause, why are we crying even before we are approached…if you stole you will be arrested dont start pointing at merzaf and all those rumours just prepare to defend your selves and put your books in order.

  92. No one can argue that HH is the most disliked politician in the country. He has fast become a symbol of hate and desperation. Elias Chipimo Jr has taken up all of HH’s qualities.

  93. #11 MMD Bootlicker. You are either the dullest Zambian or just sheer stupid. For 47 years Zambia has not developed its medical system to deal with complicated health conditions such as heart problems. Which hospital in Zambia can mend a hole in the heart? 47 years is enough time for a country to develop such facilities but because of the past leaderships’ poor policies especially the 20 years of wasted MMD rule (FACT not RUMOUR), Zambia moved a thousand steps into the stone age. How does a heart treatment compare with a bruise on RB’s knee or buying luxurious Lexus vehicles? Give me a break!

  94. jst undrstand them whn they ask stupid questions ; If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions? Go on your Excellence.

  95. “Butter to be a fool and praise the king who can save you than to criticize him and die” I was told about this and  it kept me thinking. Anyone who say that he is principled and can not change his principles is not principled because principles are made to be changed including the very one am stating  you guys.

  96. Satan should start with himself!  Is it true that he kept K600m for himself from the K2billion stolen from Parliament that he took to Kabwe for distribution at the 2001 MMD Convention? If he does not start with himself, then this campaign is a witch hunt.

  97. Chief Kaponya and Miles Sampa are money launderers who used Finance Bank for their activities.  Chief Kaponya should tell us where the dollars confiscated from him in South Africa came from?

  98. @LUCIFEROUS CALYPTUS

You are weird!!  How come you support Satan when his economic policies will bring ruin to Zambia?  Your economic analysis on exchange rates is spot on but your unmitigated support for PF is misplaced.  They will take Zambia to beyond Zimbabwean inflation rates.

  99. Start from 1991, Past today day Present and see how many people will be standing, i dont think even sata (2 billion ) or guy scot ( Pig scandal )would survive. you should even investigate driving licenses and see how many cab drivers will stand. also all those that have paid a policemen for road effences should also be caged and see how many car owners will remain. Open fire let the game begging

  100. @68

Iwe Kachepa, I have pilots of the helicopter in which Sata delivered the stolen  K2 billion to Kabwe who can testify against him. Possession of stolen property is a crime too.  Ask Regina Chiluba. Sata should not start something he cannot finish. There is no immunity for acts before he was president.  He is already committing constitutional crimes by giving Finance Bank back to Mahtani in breach of the ownership provisions in the Banking and Financial Services Act.

  101. Well folks in my opnnion, lets start somewhere,at least the president has the political will to correct things than just leaving them to posterity to judge us.

Our youths and citizens alike need a clean slate than just the rhetoric that we are hearing from some quarters.

Bwezani went to sleep the day he entered State house. No one is absolutely guilty but we can begin from some point gentlemen.Mind you alot of grudas are needed to fight this scourge…..
Go PF go state agencies and get them….

  102. @ Redman … why are you concerned that UPND is going bonkers, PF cadre isn’t that supposed to be good news as you hate HH, you and your toilet paper POST. Do not worry … we all know its a ploy to make people focus elsewhere instead of following up on PF election promises. What has this article got to do with HH. The man is rich from his sweat and young people should be looking up to such guys, not Sata whose got a salary from GRZ since independence and he’s back on the GRZ pay roll for the 99th time.

While on the topic of the day … agreed with you Mr President. We want to know who sponsored those “panga” weilding gangsters in chawama, we want to know what you did to the merzaf houses, yes meant for these homeless supporters on this blog and yes an inquiry on parties funding

  103. @ 113 in your imagination. Thats a PF pipe dream wait you will campaign for HH soon, what has chipima jnr achieved 30 votes nationally, what is his constituency????? Apart from being bemba in this bantustan called Bembia oh sorry zambia, there is nothing hes got apart from his tribe and a fake accent.

  104. @ Lilengwami: I cannot help but support you to an extent. I think the president must learn to make declarations after consulting with economic bodies including his finance minister. It is becoming very uncertain with these ‘Immidiate effect’ pronouncements. However, KAPOTU is lost, face reality, HH is not electable. He lacks nationwide appeal and he keeps losing reputation by siding with all opposition. This was his chance to establish himself as the leading opposition but then, a party whose leader is elected tribally can only get votes tribally; eat on that!

  105. @126 when you say lose reputation what do you mean …. wasn’t sata not voted highly in bemba land (northern and luapula). Not electable … what do you mean the man got 16 %. Your saint Sata got 42% for a guy who has tried for the past decade thats actually bad. How do you compare a novice HH to a veteran, just use facts not emotions here and yes eat on that mate!

  106. @126 I am starting to sense you guys (PF) have realised that HH is the future and your old man is present, hence continue throwing hatred and smears on him. HH will contest the next elections … say that with your president.

  107. @ KAPOTU: Look, HH will keep contesting, I do not hate him. But frankly, the electorate does not fancy him. We all know that he was over rated. He is failing to walk in Mazoka’s shoes. He wins in one province. He does not have appeal in urban areas. Chipimo has stolen all of HH’s qualities except one- Southern Province. Look HH is desperate and he really does not connect with the electorate. Moreover, HH does not have a landmark policy that can woo voters. I can assure that from statistical evidence HH will never run Zambia. We like him where he is- Third Place!

  108. @ 129  Its emotions …

    HH 16.3%
    Chipimo 0.000007%

    Who has the thunder????????

And who are you to state that HH will never run Zambia? RB said the same about Sata, LPM said over his dead body well, it happened after his death. Just watch the space. PF’s actions will campaign for HH. HH is young as long as UPND elect him he can contest forvever as you have alluded, but c’mon give the guy credit, who can step into Mazoka’s shoes? Even Sata was so terrified of Mazoka that he closed him out of MMD, remember ….

  109. KAPOTU anyhow, HH is intelligent and I think he has better economic awareness as compared to the under advised comments being made by H.E Sata. Frankly everyone is nervous. But then HH must work on his likeability!

  110. Luciferous Calyptus ##### what is this fuss about HH wont do this HH will never this HH only this,HH is this?? Do you always dream about HH. The topic at hand has really nothing to do with HH, COMPLETELY NOTHING, and yet his name keeps on poping. My dear there is one fact that you dont want to admit about HH though. HH is very confortable, did you get that-the man can choose to just sleep at home for the rest of his life and that of his children and their children. Google on the internate and the man comes on the top five. Surely you can comend him for this. He became the youngest Managing Director at the age of 30 to a great internation firm, his salary in dollas. He became the major shareholder of the company when it seperated.

  111. Politicians  . . I see or is it hear that former 1. lady Maureen Mwanawasa  is / has befriended the PF. I remember her telling or was it humiliating Sata. An episode which was reported internationally. today the tables have turned. All corruption, past and present, will be investigated. By the way Maureen what happened to $1million which was sent to France (you requested for it). The french govt. footed the hospital bill

  112. There is a campaign by some people to remove HH from UPND presidency so that the strong contender can be removed then PF feel comfortable. HH is a danger to PF and many are gaining confidence in him more than before. Do you know why even us HH supporters voted for Sata because we knew this was his last chance. PF is scared of HH and are inciting UPND to remove HH and those who are dull will believe them, but knowing PF they just want a new person to divert the attention that people cannot vote for a new comer in politics, hence pf should stay in power, and this can work well for them. Anyway, we know PF, us in UPND are clever to know your schemes and tactics. We caught you on retirement age where you want to push for the next government to foot the bill by increasing it to 65 years.

  113. To all the swt lovers of mother Zambia, i say …do not worry. Here i come to do total cleaning when voted into power in 2021.

You will all see what i will do for this country. One thing that you all need to know is this country is VERY VERY rich.We use this to truly develop this country. Am coming ,and soon very soon will together better for our lovely country Zambia. The war to fight corruption has been started, and all we need is try in win it in a very different manner. Here i come!!!!

  114. PLEASE His Excellency,…..go to the National Registration Card and Passport offices quickly! This is where you need to please cleanse and fumigate that area of these corrupt cockroaches!! Why should Zambians be paying to get “help” to quickly get their NRC cards and passports? Get rid of the NRC Chief and his Deputy Registrar and their co-horts!

  115. Please investigate senior accounting officers in government ministries especially force headquarters. Too many ‘villagers’ showing off with stolen monies and bragging even at church meetings about how many mansions they have built. Corruption is a cancer indeed and stinks to the core.

  116. I like what you guys are usually up too. Such clever work and
coverage! Keep up the awesome works guys I’ve incorporated you guys to my own blogroll.

Take a look at my blog post … web page – Lamar
