Zambia U20 Beats Matero Academy In Warmup Game

The Zambia Under-20 team on Sunday beat Matero Academy 6-0 in a training game played at Independence Stadium in Lusaka.

The team is in camp ahead of its preparations for next month’s Cosafa Youth Championship title defence in Botswana from December 1-12.

Nkana striker Evans Kangwa and USA-based forward Noble Rumsey scored a brace each for the Under-20 team.

Swedish-based striker Shadreck Mayembe and Reynold Kampamba of Nkana scored a goal each for Zambia in the training match.

The team will on Monday be trimmed 26 to 22 players when they resume training at Independence Stadium starting at 09:00 hours on Monday.

  1. That is the team right there, Renard should pick atleast 4 players for Africa cup. I wish I could watch sensational football on TV.

  2. What on earth is Matero academy? Can we not find some high profile clubs even within Zambia so we can prepare our boys well for the championships. I honestly would not expect this team to go far in the tornament with such preparations. LT I will not ask for serious news but only to say thanx for exposing this lack of serious on the part of football administrators.
