The Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has appointed and installed Clement Wainyae Sinyinda as a new Prime Minister ( Ngambela) for Western Province.

They were ululations and sounding of royal drums when Mr. Sinyinda who was Education Deputy Minister in the MMD regime was installed as Ngambela at Lealui Royal Village in Mongu District Tuesday morning.

Mr Sinyinda originates from Situnda Village, headman Saela; Chief Kakene in Senanga district in Western Province assumed new titles of Minyolui, Sope, and the Ngambela of Barotseland.

Speaking after the installation, Induna Mutwaleti appealed to the people of Western Province to accord the new Ngambela with the respect he deserves.

Induna Mutwaleti noted that the appointment and installation of the Ngambela for the Province was a major cry of the lozi people for a long time.

He said the Ngambela is the spokesperson of the Litunga and he is major link between the Litunga and the people of Barotseland.

Meanwhile, Provincial Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu has commended the BRE for installing a new Ngambela.

Mr. Mubukwanu said government stands ready to support the BRE and its new Ngambela each time his office will be called upon.

Western Province has not had a properly installed Prime Minister since the resignation of the late Maxwell Mututwa.

The Installation ceremony was attended by a number of Silalo Indunas, Village headmen, the Provincial Minister Mr Nathanael Mubukwanu, Permanent secretary Mr Augustine Seyuba, Deputy Permanent Secretary Mr Mwangala Liomba, Mongu District Commissioner Piaus Mishengo and other traditional leaders in the province

      @SIR SIMUNYOLA
      You are an utter and complete id!ot!  The fact that you put “Sir” in your blog handle shows that you value some type of tradition, in this case the English tradition.  Is it because you come from flotsam and jetsam of an African tribe that has no tradition and manners?  You are a lost coconut, wena malete.

      SIR Simunyola; indeed is a pri.ck of contradictions. The prick was presumably Knighted by the British Monarchy Her majesty Queen Elizabeth the second. How ironic then that this same Sir Simunyola is railing against African traditional monarchies. Did this prick even know about the title he has given himself? Is he even Zambian, I wonder, because only a Knight residing in a commonwealth country of which the British Queen is head of State is allowed to use the title of Sir! Ignorance is very uncool. Sir Simunyola is the bearer of a muppet Knighthood from one of the King/Queendoms in Muchingaland!

      lol! The boundaries of Barotseland or Bulozi are the current Western Province boundaries. Before the Barotse Agreement of 1964 paving the way for independence as part of Zambia; Western Province was known as the Barotseland Protectorate. After independence Barotseland Protectorate became Barotseland Province of Zambia. In 1969 Kaunda changed the name of the Province to Western Province. I hope that satisfies you!

    These are Irking pictures just shows how egoistical Lozi’s are. I wonder how significant this installation is to Zambia as a whole? The man appears like a person in the stone age do we really this nonsense? I do not see any senior Government officials were they present? The man in picture 1 is he carrying a snake or is that a shamboko? Also the man in picture 2 is uncomfortably too close to the Ngambela whatever you call him. Also It looks as though this whole thing was happening in the middle of a play ground am I seeing right? I am confused.

      You are confused, indeed.  Just lay off; it is none of your business and none of your tradition! The Ngambela is for Barotseland and not for the rest of Zambia.  Malozi do everything their own way (to paraphrase Frank Sinatra).

    …But I have always thought that possessing certain animal skins is a crime and punishable by imprisonment? What evidence do we need then if this Guy could be seen in the photos wearing Leopard’s skin with impunity? Only ANIMALS and in this case, LEOPARDS should wear that type of skin, not people even if they are so-called chiefs, simple. (unless he was wearing plastic)…

    #12 Saying as it is: By govt officials do you mean PF Sc.um like Sata and Kambwili? These are not the sort of people you invite to a function that demands decorum and ettiqutte from the attendees!. No my dear manyukunyuku and man’ete do not count. PF govt officials should restrict themselves to the activities dealing with Chitimukulu and Mwata Kazembe and the various small chiefs in Muchingaland. Lozi traditions precede the rubbish you call ‘govt officials’. So my dear you can go to hell with the scu.m you call ‘govt officials’ They are not civilised just like yourself! You are a bloody mun’ete i.e uncultured and uncivilised. The Jews would say you are uncircumcised and therefore unclean!

      I am not surprised at your stance you Lozi’s expect people to respect and accept this so called appointment, yet in your rhetoric there is no respect for current Govt officials. And you should have the audacity to preach civilisation what a scum bag you are and all your people are – unclean people.

    The anti-Lozi brigade you mo.rons will just be consumed by your hatred of anything Lozi. We are a proud people. We are not going to disappear from the face of the earth. So better get used to our presence. Our traditions will also continue. You will have cibe paka paka pa matacall naku bwata bwata vya bupuba……..that wont change us. Go and get whipped by a drunk Mwata Kazembe and after that carry the dude on your shoulders. As for the so called Chitimukulu better give him some of your small change. It was embarrasing last year for a chief to get into a spat with Sata who he accused of not giving him money! This was why the Chitimukulu was supporting RB. As for the Litunga (King) all you see is Grace, Regal and Elegance beffiting Royalty. This is the reason for your hatred of Lozis.
