Time Posted: February 4, 2012 1:32 pm

President Michael Sata

President Michael Sata has delegated Youth and Sports minister Chishimba Kambwili to represent him at the closing ceremony of the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

President Sata was invited by his Gabonese counterpart to attend the closing ceremony and final of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Libreville on February 12, 2012.

“Since I will not be availbale for this engagement, I have instructed the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports to represent me at this important event,” President Sata said.

And the Head of State has sent his best wishes and luck to the Zambia National Soccer Team in this evening’s quarter-final match with Sudan in Bata in mainlaind Equatorial Guinea.

“So far so good and as President of the Republic of Zambia as well as Patron of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), I wish to encourage the nation to rally behind our Chipolopolo boys even as they aim to lift the 2012 Orange Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy,” the President says.

“Our boys have worked very hard to reach this stage and we can only wish them luck and victory. If our team reaches the finals, I pledge to fully support and facilitate the entry of the Zambian soccer fans into Libreville.”

Playing a poker game as usual. Why can’t he just go there himself. He would rather send him to a game of football instead of sorting out the welfare, dignity and restoring the pride of workers.

Liz, yeah, I think the same thing but I have a feeling that would be a treribly tough sell for a 6 year old. AND: I would be the one doing it, and considering how Tom doesn’t help with the poultry butchery, well, I am just not up for it. One day, though.John, I agree. I’ve been kind of busy around here and appreciate the help!

It is not a sin for Sata not to be a soccer fan. Don’t make an issue.he quit smoking so no fears of legalising ganja. Next he might quit lying and he becomes the best.

He should not be allowed to speak in Gabon! Lest he will throw a salvo against the Chinese or just say something un toward and embarrass us again! He was demoted from the Foreign Affairs Ministry to Youth Sport and still had a department of labour removed to render him totally powerless. He is having all his wings clipped at every turn. Would it not have been better to slide the “bull in a china shop” off the radar altogether for being uncultured, crude and incompetent? The man has demonstrated he is not cut of “ministirial cloth”. Let him go, why is he being shielded mollycoddled?

Here is someone who has been demoted from Foreign affairs to Labour humiliated to Sports and he sees no need to resign, only in Africa only in Zambia. So what happens when he has an argument with the incompetent FAZ committee?? Why not just go to the back bench and represent your people in Roan, who will appreciate your efforts.
The president has opted to move ministries around just to accommodate one man at our expense, just because Sata fears that Kambwili would be far deadlier as a rebel backbencher…really disappointed with Sata and his so called useless advisers; just too much deadwood in cabinet.

Just imagine if after a team of soccer players who were on a trip for battle, who were stopped by unexplained force of nature/human. Then left for dead because of misinformation. Just imagine if another team, but this time comprising of the children of the dead heroes, was sent back to the same place where they conquered the Africa cup in the same place where they left the bodies of their fathers. If this came true I would call that story “Libreville”

Look people seeing Kambwili represent our Presido ba shikulu ba Sata at Afcon is excellent move in both ways. First ba Sata has truly demonstrated how the country should be governed. It’s now always the case that the Presido has to attend such events, send yo Min of Sport that is why he’s there for plus it’s just a distraction because the whole thing then becomes political and subsequently playing protocol. Zambia team needs tootal concentration. And am sure Zambia will beat Ghana as long as Kalaba plays.
