Police in Kasama have arrested a 65 year old man for defiling a five year old girl.

Northern Province Police Commissioner Mary Chikwanda disclosed this during commemorations of the International Women’s Day in Kasama on Thursday.

Ms Chikwanda identified the 65-year-old man as Shi-Bwalya who allegedly defiled a girl of Mulenga hills.

In another incident, a 45-year-old casual worker of Malama Basic School has allegedly forced himself on a 13-year-old girl of
the same school.

Ms Chikwanda says the two suspects are in police custody and will soon appear in court.

And Ms Chikwanda has disclosed that 99 cases of defilement and 138 cases of wife battery have been recorded in Northern Province from January to-date.

She has urged members of the public not to hide cases of gender based violence in communities but report them to the police so that appropriate action can be taken against the culprits.

Meanwhile, hundreds of women, who turned up to celebrate this years International Women’s Day, have strongly condemned rising statistics of defilement cases in Northern Province.

  1. What has really happened to our once vibrant and secure society? Where is this abhorrent conduct that is consuming our country at such an alarming rate coming from?
What has happened to our traditional values and virtues that we so much revered?
Isn’t the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation supposed to augment these values?
Let protect our vulnerable by meting out very severe punishment against these filthy elements in our society.
    God help save our country…

  2. Shi-Bwalya ala mune wasebanya abena Lubemba..ala kanshi efyo mwaikala?..Ok on a serious note..I dont really understand how one can have sex arousal to a 5 yr old girl. These people must really have psychological problems.

  3. [-(OMG!!!65 years sure on a 5 year old? That’s inhuman and such people do not deserve a place in our community..Please LOCK him for the rest of his miserable life!!

  4. 138 cases of wife battery from January to date in one province is too high a record. Is it the husbands or the wives or both who are a problem? Is it because of poverty, laziness, cheating or just beating?

  5. @ 2 At such an age we expect him to be in the fore front imparting moral values in children like her,but he is doing the otherwise, this is all so wrong and disheartening.Let us all please protect these helpless children from such animosity.

  6. EVIL RULER, EVIL SUBJECTS. THERE IS A DEEPER SPIRITUAL EXPLANATION FOR THIS RISE IN EVILL DEEDS SINCE 20TH SEPTEMBER. WE ARE UNDER DEMONIC RULE. TRY PRAYER NOT JUST INSULTS AND PUNISHMENTS. THESE ARE SPIRITUAL ISSUES. ASK THE DEFILERS AND THEY WILL DEFINITELY TELL YOU THAT THEY DONT KNOW WHAT CAME OVER THEM. ASK YOURSELVES WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN MURDERS, RAPE, VIOLENCE HAVE INCREASED SINCE 20TH SEPTEMBER? SOMEONE HAS SOLD US OUT!

  7. EACH TIME I HEAR DONT KUBEBA I FEEL LIKE RAPING THE NEAREST GIRL OR FELLOW MAN OR INSULTING SOMEONE OR EVEN STRANGLING SOMEONE OR STEALING ANYTHING NEARBY OR RUN OVER SOMEONE WITH MY CAR OR IS IT ONLY ME?

    • Still angry of the lose to PF I see. Just wank yourself till your nuts fall off. In true humanity you cannot make such kind of comments even though you are using alias. You are truly sick and I fear for your friends and relatives.

  11. these evil deeds have been happening for ages it was just never reported. I am glad people are coming out to report them these days. Please take care of your kids people and always educate them on rightful and wrongful sexual activities. Its never too early nor late for such education

  12. Such cases are common in South Africa where they believe that one gets cured of certain diseases if he has sexual intercourse with a minor, maybe will should start castrating these paedophiles maybe they will think twice.

  13. How can such an old man show his wrinkled, shrivelled impotent D8&k to a child!!! Was the 5 year-old wearing a mini skirt, tight trousers or belly top – NO! was she patronising a bar or tavern – NO! You see these are some of the disgusting excuses that men on this blog use to justify rape and defilement. Zambian men need to recognise that they have a very serious problem with their mind-set. I suggest ALL Zambian men go for counselling on this demonic issue, rape and defilement should be made an non-bailable offence (I mean if car theft is un-bailable, how on earth should rape and defilement be bailable offences?), life imprisonment for all rapists and defilers – both men and women offenders!!!!

  14. *smh* such articles really vex me up

  15. Shi bwalya swine ni sex yashani iyo, you a sick psychopath if i had a way i can mull you myself…such characters make me sick…….aaghh!
