UPND refutes the story in the POST Newspaper claiming the party celebrated Sata’s purpoted illness

Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has refuted a post newspaper story suggesting that the party members have been rejoicing the purported illness of Republican president Michael Sata who left for India yesterday for a private visit.

Speaking in an interview with Qfm news, UPND acting deputy spokesperson Martha Mushipe said her party will not rejoice over the illness of anyone in the country.

Mrs. Mushipe said the story in question is untrue stating that it is an attempt by the Post Newspaper to malign and subject the UPND into disrepute.

She therefore charged that the UPND wishes President Sata good so that he can implement his promises to the Zambian people.

Mrs. Mushipe called on Zambians not to believe the story in the Post newspaper as it aimed at tarnishing the image of her party.

She also challenged the Post Newspaper to disclose where the alleged celebrations of President Sata’s purported illness took place.

And Mrs. Mushipe has rubbished rumors suggesting that UPND vice president Richard Kapita has defected to the ruling Patriotic Front.

She said Mr. Kapita is still a committed party vice president and that at no time did he express intentions of joining the PF.

Reminds me of when they were swearing that Panji kaunda testified that HH refused to work with Sata because he is bemba just to put HH in bad light with the Bembas. Similary all those who had cases during mwanawasa opened champaign bottles when Mwanawasa died. And just recently, Membe celebrated when Chiluba died. But UPND membes dont habour satanic hatred the way membe does. Membe is just scared that people are now starting to question his integrity over the way he campaigned for sata. PF is failing to perform and what was a celebration for membe for having brought PF to power is slowly becoming a nightmare for membe. He is falling from heroe to villian.   16. It is very true that UPND has always been very happy to see Sata dead. One does not need to read the Post to know that. The UPND’s hatred for Sata started when HH broke away from the Pact and started to support the MMD. It was the same time the Watchdog was born and started like Chimba publishing articles about Sata’s health. We don’t hear good news about Sata among the Tongas where Sata lost. These is a group of people in Zambia who want to produce a president and rule Zambia. Can one trust them who can wish one dead? No wonder these guys are political babies who know very little about politics. Even if Michael Sata dies, we still have PF in place. His death does not mean HH will be the president. Even if elections were held tody, UNDP can not win. PF is our party and its here to stay.

  31. Has Mr Chidyaka denied the story? If it is untrue, sue the Post. I am more inclined to believe the story because of precedence. UPND should become real. A man of Mr Sata’s age will have medical conditions, just like the rest of us. Younger people are dying in their prime from diseases they keep denying, opting to see witch doctors and herbalists, rather than go to trained medical doctors. So dont be dull to assume that all bemba or tonga haters are tonga or bemba, they can be anything, but enjoy seeing this hatred to escalate, just like Mmembe wants.   75. There is more than ample evidence that one very vocal group of people on Zambia Watchdog are celebrating the perceived illness of Mr. Sata. It is also very clear that Watchdog censors views that are not in line with their thinking. Both Banda and Kunda must also be brought to book for allowing a man with a seriously diseased heart (two heart attacks inside if 2 years) and an advanced case of prostate cancer to run for president.   77. AHMEDABAD: The 75-year-old Zambian President, Michael Sata, underwent laser procedure at Samved Urology Hospital on Saturday for a urological disorder. The hospital majorly deals with patients of prostate, kidney stone and bladder surgery. The procedure was performed by urologist Dr Janak Desai.

    Micheal Sata, also known as King Cobra in his home country, arrived in Ahmedabad on Friday. He is accompanied by his wife Christine Kaseba and a personal crew.

    Sources in the health department said that the president suffers a medical problem involving his prostrate or urinary bladder. He had been suffering bleeding in the urine.

  78. Officials said that Sata underwent a laser procedure on Saturday to stop bleeding. A battery of advance tests will be carried out to decide the future course of medical action. He will be kept in the Samved Hospital for a day or two under medical observation till a final call on his treatment is taken.

    Team of doctors attending to him including Dr Janak Desai refused to divulge details of the medical problem and treatment being offered to Zambian president citing confidentiality issues. Sata’s visit has been declared as private visit.

  89. AHMEDABAD: The 75-year-old Zambian President, Michael Sata, underwent laser procedure at Samved Urology Hospital on Saturday for a urological disorder. The hospital majorly deals with patients of prostate, kidney stone and bladder surgery. The procedure was performed by urologist Dr Janak Desai.

    Micheal Sata, also known as King Cobra in his home country, arrived in Ahmedabad on Friday. He is accompanied by his wife Christine Kaseba and a personal crew.

    Sources in the health department said that the president suffers a medical problem involving his prostrate or urinary bladder. He had been suffering bleeding in the urine.

    Officials said that Sata underwent a laser procedure on Saturday to stop bleeding. A battery of advance tests will be carried out to decide the future

  94. It is not un-constitutional to wish Sata dead. It is free expresion. If Sata is my enemy or has done something bad to me or my relative, you expect me to pretend and wish him well?.That is foolish . Am not a pretender and therefore it is my constitutional right to express my views. Monkeys shud not force people to wish their monkey president well, NO.If Sata dies, he will not be the first one to die and in any case Zambia has better leaders who can easily take over.We are not short of leaders.In fact it will be an opportunity for Zambians to correct the mistake we made on 20th Sept. 2011!!!!!!! He can die and Zambians will not miss him .Only his family of monkeys will miss himm.

The UPND is a Party that now survives on grabbing estates of people have passed on, talk of Mazoka, then Ngondo’s Party annexed upon his death and they now think Zambia could be next for property grabbing. Zambian people know better, there is no political capital you have gained from this, except to confirm people’s views of your narrow mindendness and more reasons for not entrusting any leadership of the country with you!!!
