Roan United Coach Survives Lynching

Share

Roan United coach Chris Chibuye on Saturday escaped lynching from irate club supporters after Nkana inflicted a 3-0 loss on the Luanshya side.

Winless Roan have only collected two points out of the possible 12 in the opening four fixtures of the new Super Division campaign.

Chibuye needed police escort to leave Kafubu Staduim in Luanshya after Roan’s second defeat of the season.

The irate supporters protested over their team’s failure to win after week four games played over the weekend.

The Kafubu faithful were heard blaming the coach for Roan’s unconvincing start to the season and demanded that he resigns.

After Saturday’s events at Kafubu, uncertainity has surrounded the future of Chibuye at the club sponsored by China Luanshya Copper Mines.

Last season, Roan avoided relegation just by two points despite being one of the early league leaders.

  1. You can’t blame the supporters, they want positive results! Last season senior players rebeled and most them have since left. One wonders what could be the problem at Zambia’s renouned soccer university. Important decisions have to be made now before it is too late.

  2. Entice ba kabole back home, at least he’s going to install sanity in the camp not Paul Mulenga he drinks shake shake with the players. Fighton Simukonda is also home pa kafubu he can turn our fortune around history tells it all. Ba Roan go for quality coaches & players. 1962 is the last time you won the league……………………….

  3. I reckon it is even more painful that it was against Nkana in Luanshya ! But before firing the coach they should analyse the situation critically ! Management should not just dance to the supporters tune ! All the supporters want is good results and they will praise that same coach ! Otherwise, it is possible to jump from the frying pan into the fire !

  4. We all played there: Abena late Derrick Mwansa, late Zambani Sailota, Dick Kambuma, Rasford Mwewa, Bruce Nsama, Emmanuel Mwape, Brain Njambila, Joseph Muleba, abena Philip Tembo, Which Way Chifita, etc
