We are actually not investigating Dr Mumba at all- Zambia Police

Nevers Mumba

THE Zambia Police says it has no intention of arresting MMD presidential aspirant Nevers Mumba and denying him a chance to contest the MMD presidency.

Police spokesperson Elizabeth Kanjela said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that Dr Mumba is not being investigated by the police for him to claim that the law enforcement wing intends to arrest him and put his political career in jeopardy.

Dr Mumba told party members in Mumbwa that the police want to arrest and lock him up without police bond until the May 25 MMD provincial conferences are concluded.

“We are actually not investigating Dr Mumba at all and the concerns he has raised are not true. If the police are to arrest Dr Mumba, like any other Zambian, we need to investigate him and we would not deny him police bond,” Ms Kanjela said.

She said the police have no plans to arrest Dr Mumba because he is not being investigated for any offence.

Ms Kanjela said Dr Mumba should continue with his normal life because he is a Zambian who enjoys constitutional rights.

She said Dr Mumba can raise his concerns if the police are investigating but the law enforcement agency is not probing the former diplomat at the moment.

Ok, that is a new one. I hope madam you wont lose your job over this. We all know that the PF have been digging all the dirt they  can like maggots  on Dr Mumba,

Rather than say you are not Investigating him , why not just boldly pronounce publicly that you have found no dirt on him and prepare to be fired by President Sata

PF has introduced a style of politics difficult to understand, one day they push the police to investigate someone (DR Mumba) the next day he is not being investigated without saying if the investigation has been stopped or has found nothing. This level of inconstance is worrying since it starts from the top and now also showing with civil servants, what a schame.

Madam Kanjela to be abit professional you need to go further and advise your government that Dr Mumba has no case to be investated on and let government issue a statement to that effect. Failure to do so will imply PF government will have failed to rid itself of a tag as a government that harasses its citizens without any cause. This comes in the wake of detention Dr Mumba was subjected to and serious allegations president Sata made to the nation. As for the fate of your job is a matter of how you will be used as a too of PF, chew you up and lastly spit you on the floor as many have.

Is it really worthwhile commenting on the utterances of this attention seeker called ‘Dr’ Nevers Mumba? The chap is a desperate opportunist who will do and say anything to win public sympathy to satisfy his ego and selfishness. It is sad to see the media falling for his schemes.

I’m sure the police have not notified Mumba that he’s no longer under their microscope. So he did well to get them to declare their position which they were scared to do because it doesn’t agree with the bwana at State House. This is pre-independence politics people what has happened to Zambia?

Any one wishing to waste any form of resources on Mumba is a waste of space themselves. Mumba is irrelevant in any scenario especially the political arena. I know that he is a thief, he has stolen from the church community in which he lived a lavish life, he also stole from the Zambians as VP and at the mission in Canada. The only way to deal with such a perpetual thief is to make sure anything stealable is kept away from him, simple, no sweat or waste of time and money. Then leave him to keep on ranting, the press can keep covering him because he is also a source of entertainment for people with nothing to do.

On the path to self implosion one might consider MMD has the opportunity to start over from a completely new angle with a new generation. Seems the infighting points to an older generation who still want a shot at the title. Hope new parties spring up with increasingly youthful choices. Don’t worry about the cops and do your thing Sir. Please tell your peeps to post that registration cheque. That might restore some faith in your commitment to change :)
