Time Posted: May 7, 2012 6:11 pm

James Chamanga scored his first hat trick of the season on Sunday to inspire his Chinese club Dalian Shide to their second win of the 2012 campaign.

The Zambian striker was on target in the 9th, 24th and 87th minutes in Shide’s 4-1 home win over 10th placed Tianjin Teda.

He as substituted just after completing his hat-trick with three minutes left to be played.

Shide are fourth from bottom in 13th place with 9 points from as many games played.

Meanwhile, his fellow China-based striker Christopher Katongo had a dry day despite his teams Henan Jianye 2-2 home draw against fourth placed Beijing Guoan.

Henan are 11th after the draw in a match Katongo played the full 90 minutes with 10 points from nine matches played.

And both Chamanga and Katongo are level on four goals each, three goals less than Romanian striker Cristian Danalache of second placed Jiangsu Shuntian.

They are paying them good money to improve the Chinese league. Good for the players’ bank balance!

Nothing wrong with playing in China as long as the boys keep on shining with every game. There is a purpose for everything you do in life… no matter where you do it.

Disciples of the western propaganda. Who told you one can not play competitive football in China? There are famous footballers like Nicholas Anelka playing in China right now. Wake up guys, not everything you have been told and heard about China is gospel truth. Some of you are brainwashed with western propaganda. The chinese soccer league is far much better than ours. I watch the games every week and dont see anyone with good reason to condemn our players prying their trade here.

Binagel Mkwala, you have a point there. unfortunately, bloggers here lack information and most of them seldom have critical thinking to things that are written here. Please lets research more before we post comments. Chinese league is more competitive than that of Zambia. Our league has continued to go down whilst other leagues, chinese inclusive have continued to go the other direction. Our players are better off in China. By the way, these players were playing in China even before they become African Champions. Let them learn the chinese work culture….

guys lets learn to do a little research before we condemn. if the likes of Drogba and other high earners in the English PL can be talked of as heading to china, that should speak volumes. Anelka at his age gets $300 000 per week!
