Nkana-Power Derby: 50-50 Says ‘Quicksilver’ Chambeshi

Power Dynamos coach Beston Chambeshi has predicted an interesting Kitwe local derby when his side face city rivals Nkana at the new Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola this Saturday.

Last season,Nkana beat  Power 1-0 at Arthur Davies in the return match following a stalemate first round match in Wusakile.

Commenting on the derby, Chambeshi said the rich history between Power and Nkana makes Saturday’s game a big one.

“It’s a big game. You know Nkana and Power are big teams in the rich history of Zambian football,” the ex-Nkana skipper said.

Chambeshi rated the Kitwe derby as 50-50 saying the better team on Saturday will win.
“They (Nkana) have been playing so well. We have to give them respect and they have to give us respect we are the league champions,” he added.

Chambeshi also hailed the Nkana technical bench led by Power legend Linos Makwaza.

“They have a good coach Linos Makwaza and the technical staff of Zeddy Saileti and Fidelis Chungu,” he noted.

  1. Nice game but thug  nkana supporters you should respect yourselves come saturday no fighting. Go power.

  2. Its interesting that the Ex-Kalampa Beston CHembeshi is coaching Power Ya Moto while the Ex-Power 90 star Makwaza is coaching Nkana.

  3. Power fans, remember how the original kings of thuggery in Ndola manhandled you last year. You’re cautioned to behave this weekend.

  4. Kalampa mwaiche wandi waunfwa? It’s a pity Power is coached by my friend Beston so I have a soft spot for them. In any case, a dwa would be a fair result – and a draw it will be.

  5. # 9, I was born in busakile and supported Nkana. When Power was formed by Mr Kaira, I lived in Ndeke and played for young Dynamos. Some of my friends made it in the senior team. Players like Kim Musonda, Roy koy , Daughter and Loyd Chalwe played for Ajax football club which was a nursery for Nkana. In young Dynamos I played along side Gift Nyirenda, Pearson Mwanza and even Greg Lungu, the one most of you remember in Play circle.

  6. It is really a game one cannot afford to miss watching. But i ask all wusakile boys and men to render support to their respective teams peacefully. No hooliganism please. Communicate peace means of supporting to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
