UPND to defy police warning and demostrate against Mutembo Nchito

UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has said that it will defy the Zambia Police warning against holding a peaceful demonstration to demand for the resignation of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mutembo Nchito.

Speaking in an interview with Q-FM news, party spokesperson Charles Kakoma said for as long as Mr. Nchito is still occupying the office of DPP, the planned peaceful demonstration will go ahead.

Mr. Kakoma pointed out that in democratic dispensation like Zambia, people have freedom of assembly and that no one should infringe upon this constitutional right.

Lusaka province police commissioner Charity Katanga has warned the UPND against holding the demonstration as doing so will be at their own peril.

And Mr. Kakoma has expressed worry at the level of witch-hunting on officials who served in the previous government.

Mr. Kakoma said that there is need to allow law enforcement agencies to carry out investigations professionally without political interference.

Well UPND, the Police will arrest you for breaking the law and Mutembo Nchito, being DPP will prosecute you and make sure that your case comes before a non compromised judge and you will be served a maximum sentence for breaking the law and Sata will not even pardon you.

At least I have warned you. You can’t bite the hand that feeds you

I think issues are really being twisted & taken handled way out of hand! you ***** are saying that there is need for law enforcement agencies to carry out investigations professionally & without political interferance & yet here you are condeming every move the law enforcement agency is making & labeling it as a ‘witch hunt’…what is wrong with you!!! if you want Mutembo Ncito out, then let the law take its course as with the case of Henry Banda, Judge Musonda & others, Dora Siliya…to mention but few…other wise SHUT UP!!!

Livingstone or southern province is just about one province out of the 10 provinces in zambia. and what do you expect from southern province anyway? That is why it will be very difficult for anyone from that region to become President of Sata, because they have done more against their bid for the presidency. The problem the UPND suffers from is failing to garner support across the country apart from southern province and i see the same trend for some unforseable years to come. Infact Nevers Mumba stands a better chance to win in 2021 after President Sata has overwhlmingly and satisfactorily served his two terms, than Hakainde Hichilema. The chap is just one of those nuisances in politics, he thinks he is winning people to himself by being a nuisance when he is alienating many. Mr Hichilema

@ Pixxy (and others), I think the trouble is that the people you refer to do not believe the investigations are being handled professionally and without political interference so feel compelled to speak out. Everyone is equal under the constitution and has a right to express their views so please think about that next time before you tell someone to shut up ….. or, as the case may be….. before you support the police denying Zambian citizens their right to peaceful assembly. Next time it could be your own freedom of speech that is being curtailed.

go ahead with the demonstration but if any lawlessness occurs then Kakoma and UPND should be held accountable. if anyone dies the UPND should be charged with murder and if there is property damage the UPND should pay for it. give them these conditions and let them go ahead with the demo!

Just visist this site and read the circus Sata turned the SADC meeting in Angola into. The man is clearly mad in the head and should on mental grounds be removed from power. Without any doubt, we elected a senile man for president:

Nchito is not an issue because the same opposition MPs ratified his appointment in parliament. If there a person to blame for that nkongole, it is Mr Mwanawasa (late) because these Guys borrowed during his reign and the company they were running was doing great. I dont think its a crime to borrow money from the Bank, coz people like bena Kavindele have been sued several times for nkongole. In his personal capacity, Nchito is clean and he should be a focus for this frustration we are seeing.

Demos are for un civilised society and un wise un Christian. Our Lord told us its not by mighty nor by power says the Lord God Almighty.Peter the Apostle was challenged.Laws are there to follow if HH who has been grieved and supporting the current Judiciary let him go to court and not resort to evil manner we know what there intention was to attract attention from outsiders because they have failed internally.By the way if HH was popular and educated how come he not been invited to any of the World’s Economical or politcal forum.Sata will address a big audience in GB.He did so even when he served in the opposition
