President Sata reshuffles 4 cabinet positions

Share

PRESIDENT Michael Sata has reshuffled his Cabinet in which he has swapped four ministers.

Mines, Energy and Water Development Minister, Christopher Yaluma has switched positions with Transport, Communications, Works and Supply Minister, Yamfwa Mukanga.

The President has moved Local Government and Housing Minister, Nkandu Luo to the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs, which was until yesterday, held by Emerine Kabanshi.

Ms Kabanshi takes over from Professor Luo.

President Sata’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations George Chellah announced the changes in Lusaka yesterday.

Mr Sata has also moved Copperbelt Minister, Davis Mwila to the Defence Ministry as Deputy Minister taking over from Mwenya Musenge, who moves to the Copperbelt, taking over from Mr Mwila.

Charity Mwansa is the new Permanent Secretary at the recently created Tourism and Arts Ministry. She moves from the Ministry of Defence where her position is now held by Rose Mulemba who was sworn-in on Tuesday.

  1. When will these Ministers have time to work? Five minutes you are moved. Unless Sata is using his first year to form his team.

    • Lets take a look at all the names in this Article:
      1. Michael Sata = Bemba (Bisa)
      2. Christopher Yaluma = ? (May be Bemba)
      3. Yamfwa Mukanga = Bemba
      4. Nkandu Luo = Bemba
      5. E. Kabanshi = Bemba
      6. George Chellah = Bemba
      7. Davis Mwila = Bemba
      8. Mwenya Musenge = Bemba
      9. Charity Mwansa = Bemba
      10. Rose Mulemba = ? (Could be Bemba too)

As you can see 8 out of 10 are bemba’s. That is 80% Bamba dominance. How can a Bemba even defend this. He has no Chance already. At least one thing about Sata is clear. He does not hide his Tribalism. But Bembas are clever. They like to label others as Tribalists when the facts show that they are the Master Tribalists. Zambians wake up, these Kolwestans will destroy your country.

  2. Really bored by these resuffles … Appears there is little sense of direction. Musical chairs is the name of the game.

  3. He needs toys to play with not reshuffles. When do these guys settle in office and start working and what time doe he have to see their performance. Jokes again in government

    • you are very correct but please dont insult this old man, we know he is making so many blanders, twanaka mweee!

  4. Yamfya Mukanga,,,,mufulira gave u a vote,,,u where in charge of roads,,,,not even a contractor on site – sabina kitwe road or Muf Ndola road,,,,now that u are out of that ministry ,,,matata,,,what are u going to do for your pipo???? 4 years b4 the next election just put that in your mind…its a friendly advise,,,,but serious one!!!!!!

  5. surely this is playing! how i wish i never voted for this party i really regret! thats why we need very fresh blood and not recycled politicians. Chipimo our next hope for Zambia no matter how young and new he is in politics GOD is going to direct him, my fellow Zambians lets rally behind this young chap 2016

  6. Ba PF please its time you started your work, when are these ministers going to settle in thier offices? its not all about protecting your office mr bra bra bra when you are wrong your are wrong dont intimidate these professional minsiters they know what is exprected of the people of Zambia please TWAPAPATA!!!!

  7. As the DOGS who watch have put it thats a demotion for the PROFESSOR to be dealing with chiefs en traditional affairs!!! You are abusing her Professional qualifications..Almost a year & reshuffles are still on..When are you reshuffling yourself ??

  8. Ichibemba chakumwesu chitila chimbwi aitile impashi nokumububa shamububa, awe nashitububa umulomo ubiiiii !!!!

  9. when HH  trys 2 advice ukwa,,pipo critise HH…when is ukwa’s gvernment going 2 be settled..govnt of fools…HH 2016 IS OURS..

    • It`s important to be realistic in life.It avoids heartaches.HH and UPND have failed to even merely become the main opposition party in the country. How do you expect to assume governance of the nation in 2016?Numbers don`t lie.Ever since HH assumed leadership,UPND has been in free fall.

  10. Reshuffle, create new districts and form commissions of inquiry whose findings will be questioned by the appointing authority and occasionally throw verbal missilles is what Sata thinks the president does.Thinking long term and allowing ministers to settle, acclimatize and develop long term wealth of knowledge in a ministry or particular industry is thrown out the window.Rome wasn’t built in a few months Mr Sata.

  11. This is now plain madness. Unless this lunatic is stopped and I mean now, there will be no Zambia left to talk about. One has to blame it on Zambians too, just how could they have elected such a diseased old unintelligent fool for president? Let them all fry in their bigoted choices, silly Zambians.

  12. How much money has been spent on doing business cards and letter heads as a result of these reshuffles and ministry alignments????

  13. Many political parties in the progressive world prepare their teams while in opposition and during campaigns. The President Sata, really had no team in mind while he was in opposition and that is to say that he had no plan!
On the job training is going on in the Zambian government. If Dr Nkandu Luo was a successful Minister of Health or Minister of LGH in Chiluba’s government, why is she not given these portfolios? The lady must either be a failure or the appointing authority does not recognise success.

  14. Its unfortunate that Luo has been moved from Local Government. She seriously wanted to clean up the councils and bring sanity and order to the councils. Ukwa enjoys making one step forward and two steps back all the time!! This is government takes pride in self designed retrogression. Is it because she stood up against him on the vendors?? Luo should resign than be associated with this pack of retards who do not know what is good for the nation.

  15. You can always tell when Ukwa anvelako bwino because there will be reshuffles, re-aligning and creating of new districts as well as undiplomatic gaffs. When he is sick there is always some semblance of stability. So to regain stability ……………………..

  16. Mr Sata,
you will never find a perfect minister from day one. Let them stay there, and if they are not delivering to your expectation, discuss with them inside and outside Cabinet meetings, do personnel development seminars for them. Failing this, release them of their jobs, and find other citizens who can do their jobs.

Six months of work is not enough time for your ministers to make the effective service delivery take place. How effective would you have been if you had been replaced 3 times by now as President? If things continue at this rate, yours your Excellency will be wasted Presidential years.

Work as to live a good development legacy to Zambia, and your family.

  17. I see why the Bembas love him. He is truly a man of action and a true Bemba at heart. Too bad for the non-Bembas who are disgruntled. The night is still very young. There is much more to follow. YOU AIN’T SEEN NOTHING YET!

  18. LUO SHOULD have gone to tourism she fits that ministry to be as an exhibit of ugly african faces alot of white pipo would bring forex to see such faces live alongside shamenda, george mpombo, sondashi, chikwanda,CNP , Sakeni etc

  19. i hope Zambians will learn something from this nosence, never ever recycle politicians! we need young and educated people to rule Zambia, Sata is too old. he needs to retire.

  20. This is the worst GRZ ever.Ma realignment everyday meanwhile NO JOBS, Zesco stu.pidly loadshedding, streets choked with vendors,FRA destroying paid for maize etc.Zambians are to blame for bringing these CNPs to office.Cry Beloved Zambia, 4 years is too long with these goons.

  21. The reshuffles are welcome. Thanx mr president for the move. I know believe that the councils will change. I think the professor wasn’t doing a grt job. We need change in the local authorities.
The next thing we need in the LAs are transfers. Pliz local government service commission come in n now finalize Wat the president has started.
    Thanx mr president.

  22. awe pliz these movements awe can he kindly take masembo to local govnt we need sanity in the country movements shud have sense not to favour others just take a closer look some one is going higher through the use of other people………not fair even if we voted

  23. People i forgive you because you dont understand who really runs the ministries………the ministries are ran by the PS!regardless of how many time he reshuffles his minister they just sit in the office and enjoy our tax payer money.Any way thought you should know.

  24. RESHUFFELS ARE GOOD BECAUSE NO MINISTER SHOULD REMAIN IN THE SAME OFFICE FOR TOO LONG BECAUSE THIS WAY THE PRESIDENT CAN STOP CORRUPT MINISTERS GETTING BRIBES AND IN UNIP ERA SUPER KEN K.K. DID THE SAME AND IT WORKED OUT WELL.

  25. To what effect please, how many people will be moved, how many ministries re-aligned and to what end.It has been a year now, an nothing has changed. Just names and number of ministries. Hope he doesn’t spend the next 4 years shuffeling, reshuffling and shaking up his own appointed cabinet.

  26. What Mr Sata is doing is good for the country. Reshuffling these ministers increases transparency in government. Also it means that ministers in their respective ministries will formulate and develop independent development programmes/projects. This means that programmes will continue even when the minister/person who started the particular programme has left. It is clear that the president is working, it seems he is doing a lot of monitoring and evaluation, which is curial for any development work.

  27. Am only wondering if the president is in the country now, after these reshuffles???????????? Its now a secrete visit toooooooooooooooooooooo……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Mayb Manchester university in London……… Lolollololololllolllolllllllllllllloooooooooooooooo

  28. BA SATA, NAIMWE…EFINSHI IFI…IT’S TIME TO WORK..STOP DREAMING 2016 IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER…GET REAL…I THOUGHT SINCE YOU HAVE SPENT SO MANY YEARS IN GRZ, BEING ELECTED PRESIDENT IT WOULD BE A WALK IN THE PARK…NO WONDER FTJ WENT FOR LEVY INSTEAD OF YOU…I NEW WHAT IS WAS DOING…YOU REALLY ARE NOT PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL..YOU ARE GETTING MORE CONFUSED EVERY PASSING DAY…

  29. Reshuffling the same “dog-eared” cards in a deck, so far no one sacked, if an individual is unproductive in one Dept what makes you think they will change in another…Prof. Nkandu Luo how long are you going to put up with these shambles, why she can’t she resign and go to the backbenches. If this lady was abroad she would be a Dean or a Vice Chancellor…what a waste of manpower!!

  30. Ukwa, known as the man of action, he has no work to do,all ideas gone with the wind, this is a lesson, don’t put a constable to the post of leadership.Keep on reshuffles that’s the job of the entire president. Man of action at his best.

  31. The Ministry of Mines has now had THREE MINISTERS IN 9 MONTHS, Simuusa, Yaluma and Mukanga!…Zambia is not at war, there is no Al Queda or Boko Haram bombing us, no country is threatening us, yet we have the MOST UNSTABLE CABINET IN THE WORLD!

Sata has no clue, absolutely no clue about how to run this country. He is seriously challenged by his total lack of education, natural intelligence and wisdom!

  32. Even Givens and Scott will be reshuffled to newly created Shangombo district, Sata will be left with his trusted “yesman” buffoon Kambwili, “self proclaimed economist” Bob Schinga, Fackson “Papa smurf” Shamenda and his relations GBM and Oldman Chikwanda not forgetting Wynter taking notes.
I would like to eavesdrop on this guys at a full cabinet meeting, just cracking my rips thinking about it.

  33. Here is something interesting. Lets take a look at all the names in this Article:
    1. Michael Sata = Bemba (Bisa)
    2. Christopher Yaluma = ? (May be Bemba)
    3. Yamfwa Mukanga = Bemba
    4. Nkandu Luo = Bemba
    5. E. Kabanshi = Bemba
    6. George Chellah = Bemba
    7. Davis Mwila = Bemba
    8. Mwenya Musenge = Bemba
    9. Charity Mwansa = Bemba
    10. Rose Mulemba = ? (Could be Bemba too)

As you can see 8 out of 10 are bemba’s. That is 80% Bamba dominance. How can a Bemba even defend this. He has no Chance already. At least one thing about Sata is clear. He does not hide his Tribalism. But Bembas are clever. They like to label others as Tribalists when the facts show that they are the Master Tribalists. Zambians wake up, these Kolwestans will destroy your country.

  34. ~52 Bricklayer – you will die with hatrad if you carry on like that. Since when were Mukanga, Kabanshi and Musenge bembas? Did you care to find out whether Charity Mwansa carries a marital name or not? It may do you good to spare us your ignorance.

    • @Amayama,
Mukanga’s first name is Yamfwa. That is a Bemba name, no two ways about it. I also know he is related to Chola (Bemba) Mukanga based in the UK. So there goes your argument. Musenge’s first name is Mwenya and you can’t deny that that is a Bemba name. Charity Mwansa is Bemba…. if you knew otherwise, you would have told us. Kabanshi I am not sure but given your leader’s affinity for Bemba’s, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was Bemba. But even if I gave you all these names, you still have a big mountain to climb because the other lot are Bemba’s. So in short, you loose. Good try but Bemba tribalism is indefensible. I make you upset because you know what I am saying is true. You son of a Kolwestan!!!

  35. YABA MUNDALA UYU TAKWETE PLAN ZOONA, ITS BETTER TO FIRE THEM IF THEY CANT PERFORM, SATA ITS TIME TO WORK STOP EXPERIMENTING

  36. @The Bricklayer
Its rodents like you who sow seeds of discord by preaching tribalism that need to find another place to go, we don’t need your folly here. Chaps like you do not deserve any audience whatsoever, there you are shameless typing lists from the USA; its this tribal balancing mindset that won’t take us anywhere and we will never develop because of feeble minded vermin like you.

    • @ Maxwell Opinions are never right or wrong they are merely a figment of what someone believes.

i do not support tribalism at all so do not get me wrong, the thing is if you are going to get upset over someones opinion then you should not be here ,stay away mate.

    • @Maxwell Opinions are never right or wrong they are merely a figment of what someone believes.and you are geting worked out over someones opinion, then do not come to LT .i thounght this was open to the public.i dot not support tribalism at all.

  37. @Maxwell,
The Truth Hates doesn’t it? The reason you are upset is because you know deep down your heart that I am telling the Truth. Your loyalty to your Bemba tribe has bewitched and blinded you. And don’t come back here denying that you are Bemba…. Everybody knows the game you guys are playing. More disappointments and failures are coming from PF, just keep watching. I believe it will get so bad that it will become difficult even for die-hards like you to defend the indefensible.

  38. # 58 MAXWELL is a well known PF cadre. Even when he resides in UK where he could easly mirrow PF democracy with that of UK is unable to disagree with Mr Sata on obvious numerous errors made since Sata came into power. Mr Sata is a dictator, tribalist and self egoistic demonstrated by the many decisions made at national level. This comment will not go well to people like Maxwell and others because of its thruthfulness. Prof Nkandu Luo is now minister of chiefs (laughable). She could be made more effective elsewhere than talking to chiefs (with due respect to our traditional leaders). These are actions that define PF govt that will be its legacy. A govt bound to fail Zambians, weak, non democratic and unfulfilled promises..

    • So True…. Even in the UK, we have people who are blind. You can take a Man out of the Gheto, but you can’t take the Gheto mentality out of a Man.

    • @Complexity
Playing devil’s advocate will not get you anywhere my dear friend. Next time we have general elections, tell your people not vote for a candidate based on ethic background and you will get your so called fair representation in the government.

  39. I also need to buy a dress’s a I Purchase of high quality wedding, your content, I really like post.

  40. The president has the right to appoint who ever he wants to save him.But its too much of him changing people all the time. Please spare the Energy Ministry, you really needed a person like Yaluma there.Like this i dont know where we are going.Cry zambia the believed country.

  45. I echo what #55 has noted…..people don’t forget and people are seeing, what will stop a Lozi doing the same thing appointing Lozi who by the way most are very intelligent people and the rest insulting saying what you are saying on the observation done. Good leadership should be sensitive and collective not selective. Sata will only see this mistake also once out of office like RB tried to do hence William Banda become untouchable. This is pure tribalism at its best seeing one tribe as the only intellectuals a dangerous recipe for political hatred.
