Zim Womens Coach Consoles Bruised Shepolopolo

Zimbabwe Women Soccer Team coach Rose Mugadza has consoled Zambia following their humiliating 5-nil loss to her side in Wednesday’s friendly at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Mugadza’s Zimbabwe taught Shepolopolo a football lesson thrashing them on the day strikers Rudo Nshamba and Rutendo Makore registered a brace each after Nkokuthula Ndhlovu had opened the flood-gates just a minute after the restart.

In a post match interview, Mugadza claimed that Zambia was a good side despite suffering the heavy defeat in the friendly.

“There is no weak team in Africa these days, we played a good side. Zambians improved and they are a good side no wonder we did not score in the first half,” she said.

Mugadza added: “We did not carry our full strength squad because in Zimbabwe we are currently having under-20 youth games and some of our players are competing in the tournament.”

She also noted that women football in Southern Africa was on the rise.

“We are improving very well in Southern Africa, given the support we are receiving from our associations we will surpass what the men have done in the region,” Mugadza said.

And new Zambia coach Masautso Mwale promised to improve the performance of the team.

Mwale, who begun his reign as women team coach on Wednesday, revealed that he will recruit more players in a bid to strengthen the squad.

  1. These Zambian women players have never won any game. Every time we hear about Shepolopolo is about losing from any team. Can’t they just stop or those responsible should analyse the whole thing and if possible invest more money like in the men’s soccer. Otherwise, they are just embarrassing us. Anyway and in any case, they are our wives we wish them good and we love them

  2. Indeed. These girls are big disappointment. What do they do in training kanshi. Are they dull? Are their coaches dull? Do they lack skill. FAZ create a league for women’s soccer. Spread the selection process to all provinces. What we have is a Lusaka select team and not a national team. They don’t even compete with anyone since there is no league. Shame.

  3. Now the have emplyoyed a man coach? Ha he will make sure anyone called to the team afunika kuchindiwa olo kupombolewa

  4. tamumfwa ati dont call them shepolopolo coz there is no male or female bullet eeeeeeeeeeee? burn them for three years and start looking 4 people who can do better. loosing they loose, nomba not lyonsefye ama five zero.
