Share

Collins Mbesuma has made a shock move to Orlando Pirates from Golden Arrows for an undisclosed fee.

The 28 year old striker moves to the South African Premier Soccer League champions on a three year deal.

Pirates confirmed on their website that they had secured the services of Mbesuma from Golden Arrows today.

“Orlando Pirates is pleased to announce the signing of Zambian international Collins Mbesuma,” Pirates stated.

“The burly striker who has joined the Mighty Buccaneers on a three year contract, was introduced to the media at Rand Stadium today.”

Mbseuma joins Pirates just two months after his compatriot Isaac Chansa who left the club to join Chinese side Henan Jianye.

This will be Mbesuma’s fifth PSL stop since arriving in South Africa in 2004 to play for Pirates archrivals Kaiser Chiefs.

Mbesuma has also played for PSL side Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows.

  1. I think this is a good move. Mbesuma is likely to fit in well with the ma buccabucca…. Now I can enjoy watching Pirates thump Chiefs (again, and again, and again).

  2. He must be doing fine Mbesuma, because for him to be offered that 3 year contract its the performance they have considered. Mbesuma is a good player, but what kills him in Zambia is the pressure to say if I fail to score in the first chance people will not talk good about me. It is us who have spoiled Mbesuma, otherwise he still has the skill, but lacks confidence- I wish he could gain that confidence………….

  3. Mbesuma in for Chansa, i only pray the guy does not concentrate on eating like he did when he was sold to Pompey. all the best and wishing u success.

  4. This lad needs to focus in his later years of a footballer short career…for his size he would have moved to midfield and would be playing in a top European Club if he was successful at Portsmouth, although I also partly pain the manager there for not giving him games.

  5. What the hell pirates have done to sign on this buffoon, spent force?? He is a fat, ugly , inaccurate on the goal, and nobody knows about his real surname, iam sure pirates were crooked by an agent, that agent can do better by geting better players not that character please, stealing money in broad daylight.

  6. wow thats going to be a fun place to be he’ll join his overweight friend benni “big mac” McCarthy in the front line but jokes aside mbesuma has lost some weight had regained some form

  7. Most Zambians like Mbesuma and Clifford Mulenga, and I just wonder why on earth the coach Herve don’t appreciate impact of those 2 players, only other coaches see best of them.

  8. Why do you reporters call  this aa shock move? Do u follow South African soccer?  the guy played 19 games and scored 11 goals last season. Any  good coach can see his potentiall Researrch

  9. all the best Collins. ba PHD leave the guy alone. eh has earned this new place at orlando though I do not like the team coz its satanic like ManU(Red devils). he scored good goals last season for golden arrows that helped them stay in the premiership. at least more than 9goasl to 11 goasl soemwhere when the top scoer scored 13 goasl being Nomvete.am still googling on the exeact number of goals this guy scored.check this space.

  10. It just goes to show how useless the PSL is….its about time the agents for the zed players thought about taking them elsewhere…even if its TP mazembe

  11. #23 Higher Taller is very right. Mbesuma scored 11 goals last season and 11 goals the season before. Just read the Golden Arrows website.
