President Michael Sata has retired Secretary to the Cabinet Mr. Evans Chibiliti in public interest. This is contained in a statement made available to the media by State House.

The President expressed gratitude to Mr. Chibiliti for the services he rendered to the nation during his tenure as head of the civil service.

And President Sata has appointed Dr Rowland Msiska as acting Secretary to the Cabinet. Until now, Dr Msiska has been serving as deputy Secretary to the Cabinet.

“I wish you well in this appointment and I am confident that you will perform to the expectations of the people of Zambia,” read President Sata’s letter to Dr Msiska in part.

Dr Msiska’s work experience spurns over two decades at global, regional and national level. He has worked as Global Systems Advisor [UNAIDS – Geneva], Chief Technical Advisor [UNDP – Senegal], Director Southern Africa Capacity Initiative [UNDP], Director HIV and Development for Africa [UNDP] and Executive Director for the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management among others.

The changes are with immediate effect.

  1. So, why did you have to wait this long to announce this, until the Watchdog brought it up? Were you ashamed your nepotist appointment was not performing??

  2. ZWD did that hours back..we knew it would come to pass..CNP at work..old fellaz who never have anything to contribute..Chibiliti was better!

  3. So he has fired a Bemba to replace him with an Easterner, Nsenga, Ngoni??? Two lessons: 1. The President is impatient to deliver and he is not satisfied with poor delivery and civil service not functioning to his satisfaction, hence removing Dr. Kanganja and now Mr. Chibiliti, Dr. Msisika the new comer needs to learn a lesson. 2. Contrary to speculations about his tribalism and nepotism, this is a man who is objective and delivery to him matters more than anything else!!! All he wants is to see the civil service function!!

  4. No one will understand Ba Sata. People take him for granted and thinks he is just like the rest of past leaders. I told you earlier that the first year will be hire and fire. The man is looking at the competence of each and everyone he hires. Once an element of incompetence creeps in, you are Zwaaa! This is what we call clean up. I can assure you before long, he will have a clean leadership willing to serve the people of Zambia diligently. Thank God Mikelangelo you are our leader.

  5. Yes, if he was not delivering fire like holy ghost fire. Msisika you should work hard coz Sata will not spare you either.

  6. Number 6 plz dont display your ignorance in public, msiska is a tumbuka from eastern and nt muchinga.DONT MISLEAD PIPO IF U DONT KNOW.

  7. I am glad people are now understanding Sata’s character. I once worked in a council and we were all mesmerised by the Sata Academy. Some of the people who are close to Sata are not Bembas such as Winter Kabimba who was Town Clerk and Emanuel Chenda who was Financial Secretary of Lusaka City Council when he was District Governor. The late N.J. Mapala was also a Town Clerk of Lusaka City Council and worked with Sata. He was hard working. He used to work long hours after working hours when most of us were busy drinking. I am sure Sata would have given him something had he been alive although he was not a Bemba.

  8. thats our president. we everyday wait for such things. why appoint them you are wasting peoples time. if you know some body cant deliver y appoint him or her. u are not being fair.

  9. Mr. Chibilit was not fired because he did not perform, MCS wants to please you people after you have talked so much on nepotism. Playing with your minds. The last person to be fired will be himself.

  10. Mr. Evans Chibiliti was appointed 7 months ago and now after this short period he has been retired. I guess it means has been fired with benefits. I hope there are genuine reasons for this. This shuffling business has gone too far! “Everyday, I’m shuffling ….”

  11. @11 lubinda, we all praising the president for bringing up a culture of hard work , you are busy trying to bring in haha politics of under 5. So what if dogs in the name of ZWD broke news earlier?

  12. LT you are becoming useless, report things as there are and on time. this man was fired almost two weeks ago now. satan at it again.

  13. Even HH when he becomes president will doing the same, appointing and disappointing. It looks like most of our folks dont understand politics. In 2 years it will be like this hiring and firing until a wear pattern is established. Some of the folks who knows the cobra are saying the Snake is inactive now,It could have been worse than these. Please dont TRUST politicians.

  14. Ni Micheal Chilufya Sata uyu. Just because one is bemba, bisa or has tribal affiliations with the president, is no excuse to be complacent and incompetent. This is the King Cobra you are working for. He believes in hard work and delivering his promise to the people of Zambia who elected him. Tabazinkimana bana besu. As a bemba I say, good riddance for the call to serve is to serve all Zambians irrespective of tribal or creed.

  15. Michael is not like Rupia who kept incompetent Ministers and other till the end of his term. Not with Sata. His Ministers are really working for their positions. That is one good thing with MCS. Our beloved presido!!!
