A police officer, cornered by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) receiving a bribe from a teacher, attempted to swallow the money but failed.
The ACC has arrested the police officer in Kabwe for suspected corrupt practices involving K800,000.

Changano Changano, a police constable, was arrested on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 for allegedly soliciting for a bribe from a teacher so that he could discontinue a case of theft against him.

This is contained in a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday by ACC corporate affairs officer Jonathan Siame.

Upon realising that he had been discovered, Mr Changano attempted to swallow the money but did not succeed.Mr Siame said the police officer was arrested while receiving a bribe after a tip led the ACC officers to the scene.

Mr Changano is alleged to have asked for K800, 000 from the local teacher and actually received K500, 000 as an inducement for him to discontinue the case.
The ACC has recorded awarn and caution statement from Mr Changano.

Lets be  the change we want to see as said by one great person of all times. A big thumbs up to the ACC, hope this will send a strong signal to the rest of them.:(
