Former Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Felix Mutati has cautioned the PF government against making any fresh promises to the Zambian people.

And Mr. Mutati who is also Lunte MMD MP has advised the Ministry of Labour to consider withdrawing the statutory instrument on the new minimum wage.

Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Mutati said the PF government should focus on delivering on the already existing promises they made in the run up to the 2011 general elections.

He said Zambians are anxiously waiting for the PF to start delivering on its promises to create jobs for young people as promised during campaigns.

Mr. Mutati also advised the PF to now settle down and to start governing the nation.

“The first critical message to the PF is that, please now settle down. You should now absorb the challenges of governance and please start governing and stop politicking,” Mr. Mutati said.

“The days of blaming everything on the MMD is gone. The PF is now in government and should now start working.”

The Ex Minister also observed that the new statutory instrument on the minimum wage will work against government’s target of creating 1 million jobs over the next four years.

“I have told the Minister of Labour that this S.I is bad for business. A youth in Lunte who has just graduated from school is really not so focused on the wage, he just wants to enter the job market and get the experience but this S.I will make it impossible for our youth to even taste the job market,” Mr. Mutati explained.

He further advised the PF administration not to be scared to make mistakes as they govern the nation.

“They should not be scared to fail, let them go out there and try to better the living standards of our people using different mechanisms but they should not be afraid to make mistakes,” he added.

    • Being in opposition means you are there to offer a different altenative to the people. It is not his job to posively advise the current govt. In all more than 15 developed nations I’ve been to and lived, is no opposition in which agrees with with the a current govt. That is why they are developed, because the incumbent govts are put on their toes. Can’t you get it through your tribal dull thick head? UPND is now taking Zbian opposition politics to another level. The opposition MUST never sympathize with a current govt, it is their job to deliver, if at all they had a plan. We are sick and tired of poverty, all some of us need is a govt which can deliver a better economy for all. If PF is failing, they must pack and go whether they are our fellow Bembas. Mutati is too soft to oppose!

  1. Ba Mutati, try to stop the distribution of your s.e.x tape because that’s about the only thing you created while you were in Government

  2. Mutatai – a very selfish comment. Can you and your family survive on the paltry minimum wage that existed under your watch???? When we include your mistresses and concubines – the new minimum wage is good, in fact it needs to be increased further. But naturally, you selfish MMD ex-leaders want to enjoy whilst the populace suffers at the hands of foreign investors – ma mudala, just keep quiet, or better still concentrate on promoting your se**x tapes

  3. I have respect for the Mutati’s. But Felix, dont be like Mulongoti, dont loose the respect people have for you and your family.Whaever you say, makes sense!!

  4. This is pathetic news, LT

    Why politics all the time?
Why not divert from all this drivel, interviewing people lke this man who speaks with a mondacious mind is quiete frankly shambles on yourselves LT

Please interview me as I think people will lear from me, people want to know how I got my MBA, CIMA ACCA, Msc Phd soon, and managed to get a whiteman to marry me a feat very diificult for most zambians let alone Africans

    I could inspire people

I am not trying to be innocous or slander you LT, just saying what people want to see/hear

    Thanks

    • who is interested in that marrying a white man. even with your education you belong to the kitchen when you knock off from work. your education doesnt seem to have done you any good cause you still think shallow full of your self all the time. instead worry about dual citizenship in your case.

    • Am sure if a monkey married a person the monkey would be telling the whole world about this feat. If you a black person I want to assure you that it doesn’t make you any MORE human to be yoked to a white person. I hope your children will not inherit you low self worth.

  5. Thats the silly Mushota I know from the time she learned how to blog. So leave her alone! I get scared when she blogs sense like she started doing a few days back! Well come back to yourself Mushota the whiteman’s slave!

    • I like Mushota’s contribution. She usually defuses tension of bloggers like late Chama Chakomoboka. She does it in her own style.

  6. it is politics -we will never stop blaming mmd-we will keep ramming the message that they short changed the zambian people and presided over a flawed privatisation process that has condemned a whole generation to unemployment and took corruption to levels unseen in the history of the country

  7. Viva mutati you have speak senses tell this CNP government and there leader satana, not to make more promisses. dull government in the world with g7 president foolish.

  8. Mutati is the man. Please Sata, poach this man as your next Veep. With Mutati, PF will establish victory even before 2016. He criticizes while giving options.

  9. @ Mweenda, I agree. Imagine if Zambia had 3 more mutatis in the Opposition or imagine if Sata had Mutati for his Vice President? Opposition politics would be more mature and if Sata had this guy, nobody would doubt his economic direction. Zambia needs such brains and sorry to say but he is being wasted in the Opposition. President Sata, if you can leave Zambia in the hands of this man, you would have finished your political race successfully!

  10. No question, Sata should go for Mutati and give him the Veep. I am PF and my bosses may not like it, but this guy can bring incremental value to PF. I’m in Solwezi right now and this man has the respect of the common man. If MMD had elected him party President, 2016 would have been tough for us.

  11. iwe Mushota give us a break. just concentrate on what you know best being laid by white men in order to get promotions. thats a shallow way of thinking for someone who claims to be educated. stan yo call waumfwa. waba amashinsha pa chi_nyo

  12. Mr Mutati I don’t think thats an option instead GOV should work with stake holders to find ways in which they can be assisted in order to absorb some of the effects of the Minimum wage. At least you criticise objectively unlike some of our politicians. Keep knocking on PFs door to ensure they provide the goods they promised.

  13. Govt must listen to such steady minds. Mutati means well. I would not mind having him for my President, but definately not under MMD but PF! His advise on Minimum wage makes sense if we look at it critically, Government should have taken a sector-by-sector approach as opposite to a one-size-fits-all! Consider such sober advise President Sata.

  14. President Sata, out of the many bad things Chiluba did, he did one good thing and that was to leave Zambia in Mwanawasa’s hands, though he died whilst in office. One thing you can do is to consider leaving Zambia in such capable and reasonable hands. Whenever Mutati opens his mouth to speak, you want to listen because he rises above partisanship!

  15. …and what did you do for the 2 decades MMD was in power? You failed to improve the lives of the poor zambians and today you want to talk sense – kabiyeni uko ba useless MMD. Mutati bali spineless, why was he failing to tell his bwezani banda these things – why did he fail to implement these same policies when he was drunk with power

  16. But PF is only one of the several splinter groups from the MMD! Privatisation was done when Sata was No.3 – Minister Without Portfolio.

  17. When you think of the 20 years MMD squandered in office it becomes problematic heeding their advice. It’s like listening to a prostitute giving a lecture on chastity and high moral values. It sounds hollow and doesn’t carry weight. MMD deliberately set themselves up to systematically destroy our rich country.

  18. mutati is an asset and a performer. he has a track record in govt that attests to this fact. mutati’s advise is sober and government will be wise to listen.

  19. Mutati should leave MMD, he’s a misfit. why has sata failed to capture this big fish instead of those kapentas like Taima, Masumba, etc. Get Mutati, he’ll bring value to your goverment. you need such guys to speak for you!

  20. Iwe Mutati try living on 268,000 Kwacha per month. Try it for ONE MONTH then open your mouth again. It’s a ka $50 per month! Things are expensive in Zambia man, $50 is nothing

  21. He who listens to Advice is sometimes Wiser than he who gives it. Intelligent persons will extract the good from the bad from Mutati’s Advice but as usual there will always be a stereotype way of thinking which never wants to get Advice.Instead of getting the main points from what Mutati is saying you busy talking about sex tapes and being in the driving sit before. then you should be arrested for buying or watching the very same sex tape, secondly his experience earns him the right to give advice and for that matter on the spot advice but as usual can the puffed up types of people who are in PF get advise i.e GBM, KABIMBA and SATA no i dont think so, these types are deaf to advice.

  22. and the sex tape is just fabrication aimed at distracting him getting the president. he cant be that stupid and no one has ever seen that tape anyway. some newspaper apologized just weeks ago. mutati is mature and pf should hear him out.

  23. That sex tape is total fabrication meant to distract mutati from aspiring for the presidency. nobody has ever seen it anywhere. some newspaper apologized a few weeks back. Mutati, keep your eyes on the ball and continue playing the wise role you play. You advise Government and its for them to listen.

  24. MMD missed an opportunity in this man. Ba Sata, get him to your side. This is the quality you need. Intelligent, humble and level-headed. Wise advice

  25. @ spider the scorpion, you are spot on. MMD anaitaya but mutati can be frustrated by those who think they have the right to succeed sata when zambians know that they have no capacity. Mutati for President on PF ticket would finish the Opposition in Zambia. Not even nevers and HH put together would be any match.

  26. FELIX IS A GOOD MAN AND INTELLIGENT. ITS SAD THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE BELIEVED LIES. IF GOD WAS TO ASK ME AS TO WHO RULES ZAMBIA AFTER SATA, I’D SAY FELIX. HE IS NOT A HATER LIKE THE REST.

  27. If this man was elected MMD leader.I would have given him my vote. This man worked hard even though RB never liked him during his time.man of substance

  28.  @Mushota – For people in Britain please help Mushota find the equivalent of chainama before she becomes worse. I advise you Mushota to listen to Danny Kaya’s song about eating or sucking the unsuckable I believe it may be contributing to mental instability

  29. Mushoat kanyo kobe. if you are happy where you are with all those qualifications will on the other hand a white’s sex hole, why keep your stinky norse in zambian afairs iwe kanena kobe? back to the issue, mutati, enjoy your position in oposition.

  30. Mushoat kanyo kobe. if you are happy where you are with all those qualifications whilst on the other hand a whiteman’s sex hole, why keep your stinky norse in zambian afairs iwe kanena kobe? back to the issue, mutati, enjoy your position in oposition.

  31. Intelligent opposition MP.pLS pf TAKE THIS TIMELY ADVICE.sTOP POLITICKING BUT START GOVERNING AND SHOW US HOW DEMOCRATIC YOU ARE.pls make a difference in Zambian politicks.

  32. Mushota….
i am ineterested…share with me or rather inspire me with how you manged to get all those qualification, let your achievemnets be related to
    1. Age 2. Parents/guardian finantial muscle 3. Schools attended 4. why you think marrying a white chintu saana 5.How you are using your many papers

  33. Promises or Commitments? Without promises then politics will as dull. Please allow me to admonish the President’s critics about the so called promises which he made during campaigns..

I wish Bwana Mutati, thee young man, HH, and others who continue to yap and grieve about what President Sata promised to achieve in 90days during campaigns could read the excerpts from the CNN’s Piers Morgan/Clinton interview this week in which the seasoned and refined Clinton talked about campain promises and how to connect with the masses! Not only in Lusaka and Monze..

    CLINTON…………

So I think that most important thing for him (Mitt Romney) is to find a way to relate to more people in these debates and speak to more of them. This is not the Republican primar

  34. ” Former Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Felix Mutati has cautioned the PF government against making any fresh promises to the Zambian people. And Mr. Mutati who is also Lunte MMD MP has advised the Ministry of Labour to consider withdrawing the statutory instrument on the new minimum wage. ”

The MMD are even more clueless in opposition than they were in government. They don’t know what to do, other than try to tear down the PF government.

They have the gall to start demanding that the PF cleans up the mess they made in the last 2 decades? In a few months?

Perhaps the MMD wants to show how to do it better, but I won’t hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

  35. i have regarded this approach in support of 2 months proper, the is very useful. i want to say, this approach lida happens superior seeing that achieved 2 extended agao. this is actually the old account for the bestest one. relating to recommneded this approach in which to my best friend Donohue, i hope your own woman get the same identical superior start. I lmost all continue to keep using it until i recheive transpire.

  36. i stumbled upon this advice turn into nearly as good or perhaps a far better type diet medications i’ve ever put. on the web on your great seclocatedd thus and then prefer to whole lot buy. I wasn??t some pounds me quickly just my partner and i I you are on 7 surplus which is tough that i can do. I will carry on using it and then think that must be nice product or opportunity.
