Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba has implored Members of Parliament (MPs) to freely voice out corrupt acts in Government as the fight against the vice is a responsibility of all Zambians.

Presenting his maiden speech to Parliament sitting in Lusaka on Wednesday evening, Mr Kabimba said MPs should not fear to point out corrupt vices in the Government.

“Don’t whisper corrupt activities in Government, even if it is a minister involved, even when it is Wynter, involved. We shall depend on this House to raise the red-flag, where ever corruption is surfacing,” Mr Kabimba said.

He said President Michael Sata had taken a strong stance to fight corruption and that this course of action should be supported by all.

Mr Kabimba said MPs were representatives of a cross section of Zambians and it was only prudent for the House to back the zeal exhibited by Government to fight corruption in totality.

He said the Patriotic Front (PF) where he was also the Secretary General had committed itself to judicial reforms to make the system effective and thus this process should also be supported by MPs and Zambians alike.

He said judicial reforms were among other issues that were on Government priority list adding Government would make legislative amendments that required the full backing of Parliament.

He told the House that the Constitution making process was another issue of immeasurable importance to Government and that it would be implemented to meet the aspirations of Zambians.

“The Constitution is a product for all Zambians and we should work together to implement it on solid principles and it should be void of internal or external influence,” he added.

He urged Members to be free to approach his office as he had an open-door policy as this was an impetus to foster national growth.

He said before the general elections in 2016, Zambians wanted development to take root around the country and that this was not the time for political squabbles at the expense of growth.

“I want to implore Members to have a spirit of oneness to help forge development for our people. Between now and 2016, the people of Zambia want development. We should work for the benefit of our people and avoid contestations for power until the 2016 elections,” Mr Kabimba said.

  1. Stop asking for support from MPs to continueyour vices as if nothing is going on against you on kickbacks. We know that your cold war with Geofrey is about tenders, who is going to get more and some kickbacks.Winter and your Ukwa arecorrupt pretending to fight corruption yet you are deep into it.

  2. There is nothing wrong to step and per val way for investigations. And if found innocent ,one gets his ministerial position. We saw this with Siliya’s case. When we were in opposition ,we talked much about these things, now that we’re in GVT,what is difficult to do what we preached for ten (10) years.

  3. KABIMBA IS INSANE>>> how does he even have the gats to condemn corruption when he is the corrupt one. Bloggers i think Kabimba is the new TETA MASHIMBA.. He talks unnecessarily, all because he wants to gain popularity. How do you have one person talking about everything. Him asking pipo who funded campaigns to send him the bill shows how childish he is. Why didnt he ask for the bill before elections then. PF careful. this guy will dent the parties imagine. Ask yourselves some questions.
    1.) Who is wynter?
2.) What has he done for the PF?
3.) what votes did he bring to the PF victory? Apart from talking.
4.) Why is it that when he was made minister confusion began in PF.
5.) what is his agenda? His he serving the Zambian people or his serving his selfish motives.

  4. The whole PF thing is just a bunch of nuts. These guys are just unbelievable…hungry grigos. HH is a Gringo, Chipimo a Gringo, Nawakwi a Gringo, who else almost all them current Zambian politicians are Gringos…we hope the so called “new generation” will one day wake up and preach the new politics other than the type we’ve had for the past 48 years.

  5. How do you allow Minister of Defense and Minister of Justice to be fighting and you are watching and enjoying the game as president.
Why is the president quiet? Is his tied by some acts of indulgence the public does not know – and these two guys, wynter and GBM know?
The president must have been exposed to these guys on some acts they can press him on, and so he remains silent; no way these two ministries anchor the security of the nation. they must know that this game of theirs is not only affecting the two of them but the entire nation.

  6. Moving the RDA to state house is a ploy to create an enabling environment for massive “corruption” and looting public funds. The appointment of Nsanda to chair the board at RDA is meant to facilitate the purported corruption. we can see through this smoke screen.

  7. #14 sage,
There is no slight disparity in what you have said.
Anyone with normal eyes, of insight and understanding will see what you have said.
The problem is that many dont want to see; they have placed high premium on “blind support”.

  8. These are just accusations for all i know WK may not be guilty

African mentality is to persecute one without much evidence
It is like people who are claiming that Lance Armstrong did all those things
they are accusing him, it is all a witch-hunt

    Pathetic

    Thanks

  9. Summer shivering first step down pave way to be cleared of the accusations leveled against you, then maybe your advise/statement will be more meaningful
