President Michael Sata has arrived in Seoul, South Korea to begin a four-day working visit.

The President, who is accompanied by the First Lady Dr Christine Kaseba, arrived at Incheon International Airport about 17.35 hours local time (10.35 hours Zambian time) aboard a Korean Airlines commercial plane.

The President was received by the Chief of Protocol for the South Korean government Bae Jae Hyun, Commerce Trade and Industry Minister Bob Sichinga, and Honorary Consul for the South Korean government in Zambia Robinson Zulu.

ZANIS reports that President Sata was accompanied from Japan by Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Emmanuel Chenda, Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo, Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations George Chellah and Zambia’s Ambassador to Japan, Mwelwa Chibesakunda.

While in Seoul, a tight schedule awaits President Sata as he will attend and give his key note inaugural speech to the Third Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation Forum, and address participants to the high profile Zambia/Korea business forum which has been organised by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

President Sata is the only African Head of State invited to address the prestigious Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation forum which will be attended by about 30 countries represented by their ministers.

The President will also hold high level bilateral talks with his Korean counter-part Lee Myung-Bak and Prime Minister Kim Hwang-Sik at the Blue House, the State House of Korea.

President Sata will also hold separate meetings with key executives of major Korean companies including Samsung electronics before proceeding to attend a dinner and luncheon hosted in his honour.

Meanwhile, the First Lady Dr Christine will visit the Seoul National University hospital, and Baihan Labtech which manufactures medical equipment.

  1. PROFITABLE TRIPS INDEED. WE LOVE MR PRESIDENT AND WE LOVE THE WORK YOU ARE DOING- MARKETING OUR ZAMBIA ABROAD AND INVITING VIABLE POTENTIAL INVESTORS TO ZAMBIA. LONG LIVE SATA.

  2. FDI’s from MNE’s are welcome, mostly in the technology sector; those guys are a real hit when it comes to ISP’s.

  3. #1 Peter & 4 Many heads of states in the world do make foreign trips and that does not necessarily translate to good governace or development to a nation. Mugabe makes foreign trips so is Iranian president. Good governance or development? Naa. RB made foreign trips and it translated into economic growth into which Sata’s PF is busking. He had his own weaknessses and Zambians opted for change. Sata in Japan and Korea= Sata is a good leader of Zambia. Naa, check skeletons in the cupboard of tribal government, corruption shielding GBM, mistreating Lozis, repression of opposition to name a few, Nee to a Bemba may be, not Zambians.

  4. Korea and Japan are better partners in development than the Libyan partners RB brought in Zambia. Sata is moving in a right direction.

  6. Take Mr Sata on a walking tour around Seoul and Busan to see how clean they are.May be that can change his ill adviced move to allow primitive village traders around Lusaka streets.

  7. Latest GBM has resigned from PF and joined HH, TOMORROW he will be in mufumbwe to drum up support for the pact candidate MULUSA. tune to qfm flash news

  8. Complexity #8, How many times did RB use commercial Airlines for his useless travels. How long was he staying in State House before he moves and can you point at any positive outcome that was reported as a result of his movements across the globe. Compare the mileage of the Presidential Jet between RB and HE MCS same period.

  9. Good move Mr president. Show them what it means to be a Leader. Work for Mother Zambia than stealing and sharing money like the MMD did. Be honesty sir to us Zambians so that the development we dream about is achieved. Stop those PF wolfs who want to steal our money.
Remember to ignore those who were born bitter, frustrated and haters .

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  10. Bana Chilufya ifyakuikobekakobeka, what is that shawelo for?
Mudala wandi bodyguard waba Mr.Sata suit yalikula, who bought for him, we know he has no time to shop for himself. And the the assistant wa Bana Chilufya, she resembles Thandiwe Banda.

  12. MR Sata! are u eating INFUMFWEE Mukanwa? If thats what you call Tondolo Musuma then its scary. You can smile alittle bit, its ok to do so.

  13. Chiwamila galu. RB travelled and brought development, but they said he wasted money. Nothing can come if you do not go for it. So wamona iwe satana what you condemned is what you are doing, and you do not even think of coming back to sweep the the streets as you swept in the rails of UK. Come back wakokola saana, isa muku senda ama bags as usual.

  14. RB’s travelling was just to enrich his family, caapwa! In fact Zambia became known was Rupia Banda and Sons Limited. Commercial were done right in State House. James and Henry Banda were the Chief Commercial Officers at State House. Just like HH pocketed all the monies realised from privatization of parastastal companies during Chiluba’s regime.

  16. #16, is it sata who is dirty or its the mind set of zedians? i recall in the 70’s we had ingungulu free of charge from the councils but came the 80’s when shomeka makers started stealing the bins to make imbaula and hence imiganda or just rubbish heaps at the corners of roads and thats the cancer that has hit zed since then, not sata or any president but it boils to the individual, bushe mulawasha bamba bane or you want the entire state house to bring dambo

  17. viva mr president the congrats for been the only african president invited to this convention .this shows the respect the international community has in you.azamwalila calculator boy ku chikonko and hatrate .we are proud of you sir .God is guiding you in every action you taking. blessed are you.
