Western Province minister Obvious Mwaliteta has accused opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and his MMD counterpart Nevers Mumba of giving wrong advice to the opposition parliamentarians.
Mr. Mwaliteta said that there is no rationale in the decision by the MPs to walk out of parliament adding that opposition legislators need to be reminded that they have a duty to represent their electorates in a more responsible manner.
He added that one thing that the opposition needs to understand is that government is not run by individuals but that all the ministries had an input in the formation of the 2013 budget.
Mr. Mwaliteta added that the opposition is trying to be copy cats of the PF in opposition but that they lack issues unlike the PF that brought out issued based criticism while in opposition.
Mr. Mwaliteta was speaking to QFM news in an interview.
Yesterday, Mr Hichilema charged that the 2013 national budget will not respond to the needs of Zambians. Mr. Hichilema cited the allocation of K 1.8 trillion to the agriculture sector as minimal. He also described as a joke allocation of K300 billion kwacha to the Food Reserve Agency.
And on tourism Mr. Hichilema said that though government considered the sector to be a pillar of economic growth only K63.8 billion had been allocated to the sector which he describes as a drop in the ocean.
Mr. Hichilema also raised concern on the increased borrowing as opposed to increased revenue collection.
On the political scene, Mr. Hichilema expressed confidence that the opposition will win the Mufumbwe parliamentary seat. The UPND leader said that he would personally go to Mufumbwe and campaign for MMD’s Stanford Mulusa.
He said his party did not want to field a candidate but opted to support MMD in the spirit of strengthening the opposition in parliament.
Mr. Hichilema added that his party members have been advised to rally behind Mulusa’s candidature.

There was no, issues based politics in PF when it was in opposition. Only deception, deception and deception. this is evidenced by the current inability by PF to formulate any tangible programme of action as promised. What issues was PF bring up when in the opposition? chasing the Chinese investors, maintaining the windfall tax or appointing qualified staff in the embassies abroad. All these we lies to get the votes so what issues were they raising and have they attended to them now that in power

Just cut their allowances. when they walk out of parliament , you also cut off their allowances since when they are out of parliament means they are doing nothing. Dont pay them period.
