VICE President Guy Scott has said Government will construct 12 new health centers in Mufumbwe District.

Speaking when he attended a church service at Chizela New Apostolic church yesterday, Dr Scott said Government noted with concern that despite Mufumbwe being a district for the past 20 years, development still remained scanty.

“We are here for you and we want you to be here for us, we note that Mufumbwe has been a district for 20 years but nothing much has been done, we have already designated to build 12 new health centers here,” he said.

Dr scott said President Michael Sata was also scheduled to arrive in the district on Saturday an indication that the Patriotic Front (PF) government wanted to see how districts were developed and ensure that national wealth was shared equally.

And Dr Scott sent the congregation to laughter when he said the first thing the PF would do when their candidate Steven Masumba won was to advise him to stop dancing to Congolese rhumba but to concentrate on how best Mufumbwe should be developed.

“We want North Western to be in the house also so that together we can start building the district, we shall always be there for you and you should be there for us also, that is how development works,” he said.

And earlier, Apostle Patrick Phoho asked the church and Mufumbwe residents to ensure that they maintained peace and order in the district.

He said the church played a cardinal role in ensuring that peace prevailed in the country hence the need for Christians to be examples of being in the forefront of championing peace where ever they may be.

“Without peace we wouldn’t have been here, so am urging you church members to be examples of peace to the outsiders, once you do that the rest will follow,” said the apostle.

The Vice President who arrived in Mufumbwe yesterday morning was accompanied by Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo and her Agriculture counterpart Emmanuel Chenda and was welcomed by PF candidate Mr Masumba, Provincial Minister Josephine Limataa, Provincial Permanent Secretary Augustine Seyuba and PF campaign manager Jean Kapata.

  1. OK, may the best candidate and party win this by-election. Now Dr Scott where is the budget for these 12 new health centers government gonna build in Mufumbwe district and what about other districts where there is no by-elections? are they in the new PF 2013 budget or is just a campaign strategy? Anyway one thing i have come to like about PF leaders is the fact that they seem to like going to church, i think President Sata a true catholic christian himself is telling his PF members never to ignore GOD.

  2. He is saying it with his own mouth and worse more, in church. Guy scott should not forget that there are alot of promises that they made to the nation. Mufumbwe people are part of the zambian nation and they know how fake these people are on promises. PF PLEASE STOP TRADING ON LIES. WE’VE KNOWN YOU, YOU ARE CELEBRATED LAIRS.

  3. PF policy proposals for health services are set out under seven main areas:

Health Services Financing. PF pledges to double current budgetary allocation in order to provide universal care. User fees will be abolished and health care will be “based on need” rather than the “ability to pay”.

Health Provisions: There would massive increase in staffing levels ; more medical equipment and ICUs. Rather than fly patients abroad, it proposes to develop “a system of inviting specialists from abroad”.

Human Resource: PF plans to improve conditions of service to minimise the “brain drain”. It also plans to “rehabilitate and expand existing health training institutions so as to increase the number of graduates”.

    Medicines and Technology:

    • LOL – And how’s it gong with all those promises? Perhaps like your own post, PF has run out of steam less than halfway through………

Better just to promise new health centers – it’s simple enough for even the most uneducated voter to understand and can always do a donchi kubeba later so no worries!

  4. Isn’t this corruption?? They want to buy votes in the name of constructing 12 health centers.why do that NOW when there are bye elections in the area..Kindly start elsewhere please

  5. Are political rallies not enough for these politicians now they are invading even the holly places meant for worshiping. you can do your politics 7 days in a week and any where you like as you don’t need permission from the police but please spare the church, how i wish Jesus was still hear on earth to wipe hypocrites like the PF busy making fake promises in the House of God and you church leaders don’t be so blinded by the monies you are given by these politicians to turn the church into a political platform.

  6. I was in Mufubwe recently. From what I heard and saw, PF has no chance at all. MMD/UPND loose pact seems to be working. People told me PF lost it when they chose Masumba as their candidate. The Mufubweans also talked about the 90 days promises which PF failed to fulfill. So, Scott’ s strategy of promising 12 hospitals won’t work. The best strategy for PF is to rig, otherwise I don’t see them winning. Sata should not even dare to go there because his bad comments on the people of NW province a few years back are still fresh.

  7. To see Dr Scott sink so low as to start making empty promises in order to win elections makes me to really start despairing for our beloved Country. The elite must not exploit the poor by promising them that which cannot be delivered. It is incumbent upon the opposition parties to remind of the PF the promises they have not fulfilled todate.

  8. New Apostolic Church, please don’t sell in Church. DA do something. We need sanity in our church. If you don’t condemn this I will write an official letter you sir. Thanks.

    • Guys dont talk about matters you have little knowledge about. People have different ways of geting to Know God. These people decided to come to church and you expected the apostle to chase pipo who have come to worship. This is fraud thinking. They were not preaching but they spoke after the church service. These were visitor not ordinary visitors but national leaders and how did you expect the apostle to treat them. Write your chima letter and see if the DA will even respond to your nonsence. dont draw the DA into your dirty thinking. Hypocity

  9. The 12 health centres Guy Scott is talking about are part of the 650 Health Centres President Sata authorized to built the nation wide earlier this year! The new health posts are lined up as follows: Southern Province (98), Central Province (52), Western Province (62), Northern Province (107), North-Western Province (74).  Lusaka Province (27), Luapula (63), Eastern (68) and Copperbelt (87).
Zambia acquired a credit line amounting to $50 million (approximately K260 Billion) from EXIM Bank of India for the construction of 650 rural health posts across the country.

  10. very bad timing guy scott. everyone will now think you are saying this just because of the bye election. i know pf has a good development program countrywide but improve on timing. you guys are on the right path

  11. If I recall correctly, when Ukwa was campaigning for the political prostitute you see in the photo above Masebo in Chongwe, he said villages there would be electrified. Perhaps **** Masebo  is able to let us know how many more of her constituents are  now able to enjoy ZESCO’s load shedding?

  12. BA VEEP YOU ARE LYING SIR..A BIG LIE AND FOR GOD WILL PUNISH PF AND ITS LEADERSHI[P FOR LIFE..NEXT PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS PF CAN NOT WIN LETS WAIT AND SEE…WITH THESE LIES..SATA AND GUY SCOOT WAWAAAA.

  13. LETS NOT ALLOW TOO MUCH LIES ,,ZAMBIANS WAKE UP…FOR HOW LONG GONA YOU WILL BE CHEATED BY THE SAME POLITICIANS..SATA AND PF ZWAAAA

  14. People of Mufumbe. Your district is not developed because of the people you elected as Your MPs. It is not political parties that develop a place, it is the MP, fighting your corner for the national cake. If you have  play boys, they will continue preying on your girls and not working.
    Vote wisely.

  15. A PF CHITENGE IN CHURCH!!!! PIPO LETS BE SERIOUS WITH OUR CHRISTIANITY. MAKWEBO MU CHURCH. U HAV 6 DAYS IN A WEEK TO LABOUR ,RESERVE JUST THAT ONE DAY 4 HIM PLIZ.

    • Spot on Nana. The church should not be used by these politicians lest we will have no where to ran to. I wish Jesus can come back and whip these pipo

  16. This a “bribe”. Why build the clinics in Mufumbwe only now when the need has always existed? This is too much for coincidence. The people of Mufumbwe will be exchanging their votes for the clinics. Certainly not a way to lead!

  17. What kind of white-man is Guy Scott, I think he is more African than any Zambia. Such talks are same as what KK was cheating during UNIP campaigns that each Zambian will be getting an egg for breakfast everyday. You can only use such fooling to people in Mfumbwe, because they are the 3rd worst & backward people in Zambia and Congo combined.

  18. Jean Kapata is campaign manager, what kind of humans are in Mfumbwe. Anyway you can see what kind of MP they can produce, Masumba, even the name its self is very kamushi. Look at the cathedral, but I like windows the architecture is very earthly, uneven, no one in Mfumbwe can make anything straight.

  19. Mfumbwe.. my first time to hear about such a place. In which province, what tribal language do they speak? Mfumbwe… kuti walila Lesa uyu!?

  20. I wonder why the whole of that white maize or sorry white man shuld be given the platform to cheat in church. They promised in Muchinga,Chama and Livingstone, have they honored any of them?Kapata and Lubinda are very bad campaign managers, they have lost the seat already like it or not.Muzungu watu uuyu has a cunning language.Mufumbwe see him now that he is there….once they lose abbwe banene tamukamuboni…

  21. It’s now almost one year since Scot pledged to construct 12 health centres in Mufumbwe. Can this cheating Guy update us on how many of these facilities have been constructed? Completed? ZERO. On roof level? ZERO. Slab level? ZERO. Planning stage? ZERO. It was all foolish donchi kubeba.
