Power Brace For Napsa At Arthur Davies

Share

We are ready for Napsa Stars on Sunday says Power Dynamos coach Beston Chambeshi.

Power host Napsa on Sunday at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe in their penultimate match of the season that they need to win to go top of the Faz Super Division table.

Two points separate leaders Zanaco from Power on 58 and 56 points after 29 and 28 matches played respectively.

A win at home on Sunday against Napsa for Power who beat them 2-1 in the first leg meeting in Lusaka on June 17 will enhance their hopes of successful title defence heading into the last league game next weekend.

“For sure it is a tight race we are almost there and on the right track,” Chambeshi said.

“I think it (The title race) will go as far as the last game of the season.

“I think that this game will be a decider we will take it with a serious approach. They beat us in the first game in Lusaka and we have to win that game and it is not about revenge.”

However, Chambeshi has fitness problems for midfielders Kennedy Mudenda who limped off against Green Buffaloes on Thursday and Thomas Nyirenda in the Barclays Cup semifinals on Saturday.

“They will be fit am sure they will recover for Sunday,” Chambeshi said.

  1. Go power go!The spirits and ancestors are with you including peter Kaumba a power legend now coaching Napsa.Good luck boys!

  2. Arthur Davis? Who is this guy, do I know who is? Do my children and/or their children’s children know this Davis guy? I think not. But why are we still living in the colonial era? What are we scared of? What did this guy do for Zambia to have his name glorified for ever? Is he the owner of this stadium or is he the one who built it?  Come on, somebody shed some light otherwise, this football arena should be renamed immediately to something like; KATILUNGU or indeed CHILUBA , why not?

  3. Mr Nkope Shinyenga pls dont insult Mr Davies.Mr Arthur Davies formed Power Dynamos somewhere around 1975/76 and in 1979 they got to the premier league. He was a former Zambian referee. He brought Freddie Mwila,Alex Chola,Bizwell Phiri,Ken Mwape,Peter Kaumba,Michael Musonda,Wisdom Chansa to Arthur Davies stadium. He even brought Kalusha Bwalya for one week though but u-turned when his father’s life was threatened by Mighty fans.Davies was a great adminstrator and pls give him the respect he deserves.I challenge you to go and form your own team and see how far you go.GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  4. Nkope, u need to learn about a lot of history in Zambian football stadia. I will not say anything but the negative comments about the late Mr. Arthur Davies shows that you are very young and still learning. I would get suprised if you asked ‘who is Kalu and where was he playing in Zambia?’ Dont just write on the things you are ignorant about pliz. Why give a name to a structure to someone who never spent any pound or ngwee on it?

  5. Nkope Shinyenga or siinyenga you are very annoying. It is easier to rename victoria falls and Livingstone than Arthur Walter Davies Stadium. This “muzungu” has borught a lot of joy and pride to Ndeke township in Kitwe. His passion and vision for the game is an surpassed. Not even Hanif Adams can compare with him. He has given us “who grew up in Tafuna Drive” an inheritance we shall forever adore. So don’t insult us with your ignorance
