State House open to people with genuine motives – Sata

President Micheal Sata says it is regrettable to note that visiting State House could be criminalised by those with vested interests.

Speaking through his Special Assistance for Press and Public Relations George Chellah in a statement made available to ZANIS this afternoon, President Sata said State House remains open to accept and engage any person, including the opposition as long as they follow the right procedure and their motives are clear.

President Sata has however described the recent quarrels and accusations within the opposition circles over State House visits as trivial, counter-productive and devoid of political maturity and nationhood.

The president said by now people should be seen departing from such type of pedestal politics as a nation.

He said if leaders genuinely desire to serve the Zambian people then they should respect and in the spirit of consultation, consensus and nation building engage each other for the benefit of the general populace and the country.

He said during his tenure of office, he desires to demystify the notion that State House is a place out of reach for citizens with divergent views and political inclinations.

“Let me affirm that State House remains open and as elected representatives of the people we look forward to greater and progressive forms of engagement with different stakeholders, including the opposition.

President Sata said historically State House has been visited by people from all walks of life and shall not segregate.

The head of state emphasized that though motives for visiting State House may vary, he remains a listening President and devoted to paying attention to all sides and voices in the nation.

  1. You little cockroach do not make sweeping statements to the general masses, yet you know that, that state house is only meant for your clonies and Bembas. This Sata is very naive and stupid. We are tired of your sweet stories and lies, please the sooner you leave that state house the better it will be for everyone, thank you. Just don’t forget to inform us when you intend leaving that place because there are a lot of capable young non-tribalists replacements in the pipeline. You are throwing that country to the woods, you old dinossour.

    • Yo are an ***** and very foolish. Why are you using the word WE, as if people with sane minds will fall for such stupid innuendos from you tribalist from the Tonga land? Grow up and respect our President. He did not go there through a coup, but we the majority voted for him. *****. Weshilu we.

  2. Hey, Sata I think the state house is a public property, and the last time I updated my knowledge you were threatening your neighbour Nevers Mumba that you will never associate yourself with him if he comes to your ‘private’ property, the state house in the manner in which he presents himself to you. Now, Mr. 7 guns give your would-be visitors prescriptions in relation to norms of visitation routines or manners. Come on Mr. 7 guns prescribe those norms right now or may be you only do that when you temporarily don’t suffer from amnesia or simply put you do that when you regain your memorised words from Chella. And your amnesia is coupled with your low educational levels, shame.

    • This comment reflects the truth and it is not painting a false perception about what is happening. We all need the winds of change.

  3. great gesture indeed but such moves always create mistrust among the opposition members, strike a balance between developmental talks and friction created within the opposition.may be open meetings at neutral venue may be appropriate.

  4. I believ u mean dat evry zambia who is below 50yrs old yrs and aspires 2 b a leader is under 5. we hope & pray dat all of u aged & ova 5 madalaz wil die soon wth yo uncivilisd ideas. we ar tired of yo poor focus of the life of our future generations.

  5. Mr President when are you going to host the media for a live press conference at State House??

There are countless issues longer than my stretched arm if printed on paper which either have been shelved or have been swept under the carpet that need your urgent clarification. C’mon..15 months no press conference is a world record…what ever happened to checks and balances that you had been preaching when you were in opposition??

  6. When is HH gona visit state house? His friend Mumba atleast visited without invitation. Anyway knowing HH very well, i dont think he will take Sata’s reminder verywell.

    • Do not make fun of God’s creation. Sata did not create himself.. wecipuba iwe. Your lame behavior indicates that you are already dead in all ways that matter. Get a life. Make a friend.

  9. He has run out of ideas to supply mealie meal water and to stp matuvi at UTH. Too late to bank on Milupi and HH, they only offload their economics in 2016, for now just concentrate on Mutototo and your bwangula, mwaumfwa bashikulu,?

  10. Viva Sata, that is the spirit. One Zambia, One Nation. We need this maturity as a nation and your message very welcome. You are President of all Zambians, including the wise, unwise etc. Please keep it up!

  14. Petty from the Presidency……he need not be talking about such small small issues that an opposition party is squabbling over.

  15. At least my premonition about the death of ukwa is mutual and common. Lord may thy Kingdom come. Kuingo kuti tyala chafwa! Ala chikawama ukusefya until ukushika. It will be a national morning not mourning.

  16. Sata is not honest at all because he is not stable and cannot draw a clear line between reality and mere lies
Furthermore, he is a very divisive ruler and he has no intentions of uniting all different tribes under one umbrella. He sees evereything along tribal lines in which the most desirable tribe is the Bemba tribe and other northern tribes closely associated with the Bembas. And yet, he demands compliance from other tribes which he is marginalising e.g. Tongas. I have a problem adhering myself to his beliefs or principles because I see nothing which I can identify my sort with, my fellow people can attest to what I have constructed on this continuum. Others can argue and pile their views on the other continuum, flowing from that our views are more clear and acceptable.

  17. No. 10 iNkhosi Mzilikazi DiniZulu: Do not make fun of God’s creation. Sata did not create himself.. wecipuba iwe. Your lame behavior indicates that you are already dead in all ways that matter. Get a life. Make a friend.

  18. #10 be careful what you wish for.I’ve seen pipo that wish for some 2 die and they ended up dying themselves.if I may ask,how old are you?if you look at the statistics young pipo are dying early than old pipo.So my dear its you who is marked 4 death.

  19. #10 tell your crones to wait for the election time 2016 if the president died or not it should not be your preoccupation but developmental issues through out the nation.Though crude #20 has a point on tribalism exercised by the govt but note that it not only the Tonga who are victims, The govt should make deliberate move to address this tribal imbalance in the running of the country viva one Zambia one nation.

  20. Oh ! I STOPPED commenting on bloggers like #26 who have nothing to offer the new vision of constructive blogging,Lets point out an error for the seek of correction not any other motives. Please please not on this site….

  21. you dont have to re-read through all these insults on this blog to know that tongas are a bitter tribe. what if this tribe came into power, what and how will they behave if they can behave like this in opposition? fellow zambians, i think we should make sure that this tribe does not ascend to power cos they are *****s.

    • Mature, you are the *****. How can you call a whole tribe as being *****s. We have put up with you thieves for a long time if you want us to generalise

  22. .Remember how General Christon Tembo was finished by Levy. When General visited state house Levy requested a one on one closed door meeting meeting with the General leaving the people that had gone with the General behind in another room. You know what followed afterwards,Levy went public that the reason why General Tembo visited him at state house was to mortgaged FDD at K300 Million and that was the end of General Tembo politically.

  23. Anyone who would believe these words from Sata must have been short changed in their academic life especially if they went past grade seven. He thinks he is addressing fellow classmates…

  24. Sir-Tar Dora wa mufwile shani, alilowa. All along ba mudala kanshi balekumbwa Dora untill basuka ba nyenga. Ba Dr. Kaseba bapatana na Dora forever. When the big man is out of office there will be divorce. It was bad those who took mutototo and ibange to the president were arrested. The president will bail them out.
