Government has said that the good turn-out in the western province constitution provincial convention is a true reflection that the people in that region are keen to be part of the country’s development agenda which also includes the constitution making process.

Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba said that government wants the people of western province to be part of the country’s development process and that the ruling party remains committed to ensuring that development takes place in the province.

Mr. Kabimba has noted that the spontaneous reaction shown at the provincial convention organized by the technical committee on drafting the constitution could also be an indication that the people in western province appreciate the development efforts that the PF government continues to make.

Mr. Kabimba in an interview with QFM News has cited the pending construction of a football stadium and construction of the long awaited Mongu-Kalabo road as one of the many development programmes that the government is keen to undertake in western province.

The minister who is also PF Secretary General has explained that the ruling party remains committed to ensuring that development is rolled out to all the parts of the country.

Last year some Barotseland Freedom Movement activists tore copies of the draft constitution as a way of disowning the constitution making process.

  1. when is this coming to an end..our money is being wasted..?15 months down the line there’s no change..isn’t 90 days over..?

  2. Kabimba! Mongu-Kalabo road was started by MMD. Your PF Minister Yamfwa Mukanga order the construction to stop because according to him ‘Mongu-Kalabo road was a political project’. This was within one month of PF been in power. Despite this however the Chinese issued a statement three months later that it will take at least four years to complete the project because of the annual floods! One wonders who blinked! The two roads that are currently under construction i.e Senanga-Sesheke Road and the Mongu-kalabo road were all hastily announced in the aftermath of the murder and maiming of Lozis in january 2011. These roads have a sad inception and kabimba should be advised to avoid cheap talk to gain political mileage! People need not need to die to have roads built!

  3. Never in the history of Zambia have we ever had a proactive justice minister who functions as a spokes person for all ministries and govt departments as this man is doing. Some of us have said that govt need not employ so many ministers and their deputies siphoning hard earned money for doing nothing. A few fanatically dedicated and ambitious individuals is all you need to manage Zambia. I have estimated that govt can cope with just 2, 000 admin staff with only one ministry and one minister, preferably, Kabimba. The govt must get its priorities in order.

    • Universal minister indeed. Had no particular thoughts about him before aside from noting he likes to mouth off but he’s writing himself in to the history of selfish ambition.

  4. @Mwamba Mutale, you are very dull, even if you hate Kabimba and PF, at least you should reason and see that those phones are for the reporters he was addressing. Dull chap zoona.

  5. Guys, does it mean Kabimba is the most important individual in PF, or what? Even more than the Cobra himself? I want to understand this so that I can stop hating this man. Or maybe he just wants to pretend to know more than everybody else in PF. Your help is appreciated.

  6. Which people of Western Province Kabimba is referring to? The 3 Indunas masquerading as BRE? Or better yet the propaganda from The Times?

The people, through the BNC made the resolution to disengage from discredited unitary state that is Zambia. The ideals on which the union was founded were never respected so it was a sham. Therefore only they (the people) through the BNC can again overturn their resolutions. So please stop issuing propaganda statements.

And please stop using the Mongu-Kalabo Road as a political weapon… this road has had foreign sponsors but every time the money was diverted by the same political scoundrels.

    • I recall going into an office of the then Finance Deputy Minister, Godfrey Simasiku in 2000 and he was telling me he was rushing to travel to Kalabo to survey the Mongu-Kalabo road with the sponsors who donated money. 13 years later, you are still talking about the same road – stnpid!

  7. This is the worst time of dillusion. Until a bomb explodes in Kabimba’s backside where it stinks and never shine, that is when he will realise this Lozis mean business.

  8. Kabimba, what have you got to say to the refutation of your loud mouth?

You talk too much, not like a Minister in government.
